HealthRe: How Do U Cope With Partner With Bad Breath? by omicron(m): 9:04am On Dec 31, 2012
It is not easy to cope with Bad breath, just as it is not easy to cure it.

Begin by letting the person know they have such a problem as many people with bad breath may not know. Do this with tact and love, and at the right time too

Then, the let the person know you still care and love them.

Show genuine interest in helping the person get help. For eg, both of you should visit her dentist together.

Never express your discomfort openly to the person's face. In other words, pretend it doesn't exist.

Never use it against the person during times of disagreements!

Never make a joke out of it.

Help the person adopt healthy eating habits and good attitudes to hygiene and medical checkups.

Lastly, just bear it if u must be close with the person. Just cope with it.
what about "thanx i'm a naija I will rule"
Who is the thanks for? "Thank God I'm a naija......". What about, " See, I'm a naija, I will rule"
Nairaland GeneralRe: Is This Sentence Really Correct? by omicron(m): 8:32am On Dec 31, 2012
the full sentence is "once am a naija I will rule".
There's something not right with the sentence in terms of meaning, not structure. You are already a naija and will remain a naija, so it's odd to say 'once i'm a naija....'. I will suggest something like, "Cos I'm a naija, I will rule".
Nairaland GeneralRe: Is This Sentence Really Correct? by omicron(m): 7:57am On Dec 31, 2012
"Once am a naija" is not a sentence. You give us the context in which it appears and we might be able to help you. Note: it's "I'm", not "am". In this case you might want to write, "Once, I was a naija", meaning "I was once a naija"

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Everton Vs Chelsea (1 - 2) On 30th December 2012 by omicron(m): 1:19pm On Dec 30, 2012
The last point CFC took from Goodison Park was a 0-0 draw in 2008. Everton has the best home record this term, and they are still unbeaten at home. A draw is the realistic expectation here. A Chelsea win is but a dream. May our dreams come true though! Up chelsea!!! Up Mata!!

EducationRe: Covenant University Expels 200 Students For Missing Church Service? by omicron(m): 8:59am On Dec 29, 2012
But yet, adults should behave like adults and take responsibilities for their decisions. If the rules say u should do "A" and u keep doing "B", you are wrong and should face the stipulated penalties. Afterall, they were well aware of such rules before then. I didnt have such rules in my University, but I knew if I had I would just obey them or simply leave, if I can't change them. To me, it is this attitude of 'deliquency' that makes them look like secondary schools, not the primary existence of the rules.
FoodBread, Rice, Popcorn And Six Others You Should Not Eat by omicron(op): 6:42am On Dec 29, 2012
Making healthy food choices is often difficult and confusing, but there are a number of specific foods to avoid in almost every circumstance because they provide virtually no health benefits while posing plenty of health risks. Here are nine foods you should never eat again if you care about preserving your long-term health…
White bread, refined flour
These are generally toxic for the body because they have been stripped of virtually all vitamins, minerals, fibre, and other important nutrients. They are not properly digestable and assimilated. Refined white flour has also been bleached with chlorine and brominated with bromide, two poisonous chemicals that have been linked to causing thyroid and organ damage.
Tip: Choose brown bread or whole wheat bread over white bread. Reduce consumption of patries made from white flour.
Conventional frozen meals
With the exception of a few truly healthy frozen meal brands, most conventionally-prepared frozen meals are loaded with preservatives, processed salt, hydrogenated oils and other artificial ingredients, not to mention the fact that most frozen meals have been heavily pre-cooked, rendering their nutrient content minimal.
Tip: As much as possible, eat meals in their fresh, unpreserved state.
White rice
Like white bread, white rice has been stripped of most of its nutrients, and separated from the bran and germ, two natural components that make up rice in its brown form. Even so-called “fortified” white rice is nutritionally deficient, as the body still processes this refined food much differently than brown rice, which is absorbed more slowly, and does not causethe same spike in blood sugar that white rice does.
Tip: Eat “unpolished” rice as much as possible in place of the “parboiled” or “polished” variety.
Microwaveable popcorn
This processed food which is a favourite among moviegoers and regular snackers is one of the unhealthiest foods you can eat. Practically, every component of microwaveable popcorn is unhealthy and disease-promoting. It contains a chemical known as diacetyl that can actually destroy the lungs.
Cured meat products
Deli meats, sausage, hot dogs, bacon, and many other meats are often loaded with sodium nitrite and other chemical preservatives linked to causing heart disease and cancer.
Tip: Have preference only for fresh, uncured meats.
Conventional protein, energy bars.
These are meal replacements containing processed soy protein, refined sugar, hydrogenated fat, and other harmful additives that contribute to chronic illness.
Margarine
Hidden in all sorts of processed foods, margarine, a hydrogenated trans-fat oil, is something you will want to avoid at all costs for your health. Contrary to popular belief, butter and saturated fats in general are not unhealthy, especially when they are derived from pastured animals that feed on grass rather than corn and soy.
Tip: Extra-virgin coconut oil or olive oil are much better than margarine.
Soy milk and soy-based meat substitutes
Nearly all non-organic soy ingredients are of genetically modified origin, most soy additives are processed using a toxicchemical known as hexane, which is linked to causing birth defects, reproductive problems, and cancer. Unfermented soy is also highly estrogenic, which can distort hormone balance.
”Diet” products
Many so-called “diet” products on the market today contains artificial sweeteners like aspartame and sucralose, both of which are linked to causing neurological damage, gastrointestinal problems, and endocrine disruption. Many dietproducts also contain added chemical flavoring agents to take the place of fat and other natural components that have been removed to artificially reduce calorie content.
Tip: Stick with whole foods that are as close to nature as possible, including high-fat foods grown the way nature intended, and your body will respond surprisingly well.

Spyder880, Centje and others in the village, I thought you guys should have been posting some 'village pictures' so that we can see how the celebrations went on in your villages, as well pictures of developments (or otherwise) of your places and areas leading to your places. At least, we would have got some interesting diversion from Enugu City, until we return and continue from where we stopped.

MegaMan2020: Igbos have never really respected their own cultures. If you watch them you will see they're more likely to celebrate other cultures than their own. Let us not forget that the Igbos have no real history before the arrival of the colonialists. The white man turned the Igbos from common village cannibals into the people you see today. That's why the Igbos would prefer to give their children fancy English names instead of Igbo names.
Thank Goodness Neither Goodluck nor Jonathan is not an Igbo. All you haters, no time for hating o! Merry Christmas joor!

FamilyRe: Getting Pregnant Before Marriage by omicron(m):
tchidi: Dunno about others, but I have a strict 'no sex b4 marriage' rule!! If u can't wait till we r married, (not even traditionally sef, church!) Then back off! She should hold fast to her values! If he loves u, he'll love u even if u don't give him a child... My 2 cents sha! undecided
I had a friend who had same values as you. Both she and her then fiance resolved no sex too. Soon, they got married, but at the honeymoon the long expected did not happen. The guy, now husband, became furious and sad...! The reason was that she was too wide beyond his expectation. It was funny but this led to weeks without another attempt at consummation! One thing led to another and today, they are in the final processes of formalizing their divorce.

I admire your stand regarding premarital sex, nor would I ever encourage it, but marriage is complicated. It's hard! And one may never know what lies in store for them unless one has entered it. This is some of many occurrences that might make some people demand 'mock marriage'

As for the OP, it goes either way. I have met many girls too who intentionally wanted to get pregnant before marriage. Some do it cos they are afraid they may have issues, some cos they want to tie the man die, while some do it cos it's what the man wants.

IMO, you should rather counsel your friend, not tell her what to do. She alone knows the best for her. No one has a right to make us do things that go against our beliefs, not when they ain't willing to change theirs either.
RomanceRe: Do You Consider Romance Not Involving Sex As Cheating? by omicron(op): 11:31am On Dec 23, 2012
centje: The major part of sex happens in the brain. External ge.nital is just one of those sense organs transmitting additional impulses to the brain. The eyes, ears, nose, mouth, rest of skin...they all transmit sexual impulses to the brain,'the major sex organ'.

That's why jesus said this...

27 “You have heard that it was said, ‘ Do notcommit adultery .’ 28 But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to desire her has already committed adultery with her inhis heart. 29 If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away
Hmmm, where do I begin to respond centje. This one na bible issue o, i no wan go there. But according to you, cheating occurs in the mind....and those that want to be free of cheating should then lose their minds? grin
