k2039: If she is exclusive, then having any romantic stuffs with someone else except her partner is equivalent to cheating.k2039 I tend to agree with you, but in a case where a partner realised what /heshe was about to do before getting down to the real thing i.e, for e.g, in the middle of a kiss or even more she suddenly stood up, no longer willing to go on, and that was it, is that enough to consider as cheating too? |
You may be surprised what others may think. My friend was telling me she does not consider any romance not involving sex as cheating. According to her, her man can walk with another girl along the gardens plucking flowers, but she doesnt care. He can kiss, smooch and so on, but she wouldn't care either, so long as real intercourse did not and is not taking place. It's surprising, but technically -and only technically, IMO -she is right. But it's weird though. Wondering what nairalanders think about this. Is my friend right? If your partner in a relationship confesses to you that he/she has had a romantic act (kissing and everything) without having had intercourse, would you honestly consider it that he/she has cheated on you ![]() |

Everything is prayer, prayer prayer in Nigeria. But Sir, you are the Chief Security Officer of the state. If it will now NEED prayers to ensure your safety, then the rest of the masses will be needing to actually enter Heaven in order to be safe (Safety through Death). You politicians should put our country in order. Is it not becoming clearer everyday that no one is truly safe anymore in this country, not even the President, not the Christian, not the Muslim. |
^^^ No, you have not. I clearly understand what you are talking about. I think we both agree on the qualities that make one a good governor. What I tried to counter was your statement that road construction and housing are mere trivialities and should not form proper yardsticks for measuring the efficiency of a governor. My allusion to the effects of bad roads on health was just to remind you how good roads could mean more than luxuries or 'trivialities'. Talking about the state of the 'destined' hospitals is another discussion altogether, but still comes into the big picture regarding the components of good governance. We all know all this, I believe. It was simply you trivializing road and housing that got me concerned. |
WARNING TO ALL TRAVELLERS THIS YULETIDE SEASON There is no such thing as Enber month spirit.. The truth is that Passengers need to live up to their responsibilities to the drivers. This period, there is a lot of traffic and drivers try to make more trips than they would normally do. So what you see is they speed on the roads to shorten the trip time and then they push themselves by making extra trips to make extra money. So where a driver would do two trips in a day, he tries to do 4.. What you end up having is a tired driver that is speeding and making dangerous manuvers on the road. HERE IS MY ADVICE: 1. Please make sure that whoever sits in front with the driver does not sleep. Its this persons duty to monitor the drivers speedometer and also check that the driver isnt sleeping.. I was once in a cab from Port-Harcourt to Calabar where the driver was actually sleeping on the wheels. What I did was tap him to pullover using the excuse that I needed to pee.. We came down and I immediately told the driver that he should take a walk. We rested for 30minutes by the road vefore we began the journey again. Some passengers werent happy, but who cares.. 2. Please stay sharp and caution the driver when he starts to speed, make dangerous manuvers, overtaking at bends and starts taking unnecessary risks.. You reserve the exclusive right to scream down the bus. You may look mad, but you will be that Mad person that arrives his/her destination alive and not in a body bag. 3. Avoid travelling by night.. Chances are, your driver has been driving all day and is most likely tired. Coupled with the bad roads and the criminal activities that tend to spike during this season, travelling at night is like playimng russian roullete with your life. 4. Try and speak to your driver prior to the trip to check if he has been sipping some shepe. Should you percieve alcohol on his breath, please do not enter that vehicle. Many drivers take local gins that they say keeps them awake. Please do not enter these buses. 5. USE only trusted Transport companies like ABC Transport, EDO line and the likes that have a safety standard record thats clear for all to see. 6. Do not be in a hurry.....
Thanks for this piece. This deserves a new thread of it's own. |
A belated reaction. But I stillThank God for him, and pray he makes it all through! |
Cent Well done! I thought this was long overdue, glad u have decided to let the world share your creativity! Nice works...keep them coming! |
True NaijaBwoy: Im back again with another rant.I thought you would have done well to tell us what the 'measurement' is and not what it is not. FYI road construction and other infrastructural developments are not trivialities. Do you know how many people die daily because a journey of 20 minutes to a referral hospital took 2hours, thanks to no access roads? What is your own take on your question? You want a Nigerian governor who will rather send drones to.......North Korea, rather than provide portable water, power, good roads, and good housing policies? You cannot jump the basics. |
afam4eva: Were they up to nine politicians in the helicopter? No they were not, but the prophecy said the solution was that they should not board same flight. We have heard stories of people who could have used same chopper but somehow did not. My point? Maybe the prophecy was half-solved. The most important thing is still the question OP innocently raised, which I think the answer is a 'yes' - It's time to take TB Joshua seriously. |
I hope this is not true. This is only the first time the news of the death of a Nigerian politician would touch me. Sullivan is a good man. To hell with his private affairs, I do not care....but as a governor, he is the prototype of what governance should be. He surely doesnt deserve to die, not in office. Enugu state people do not deserve it either. Please God, save this man, Sullivan! Pls God. I know he is passing thru a lot, I dont care what it is he is facing or where he is, but whatever it is, God please I want to see Sullivan come back alive, and well. Please God. Please, please, please, please, please, please, pleaseeeeeee! |
kaorama: Punch said 'Feared Dead'Please tell them. |
Who takes him seriously anymore? |
I have never complained about front page but moderators this goes to far! What nonsense! How much does it cost to move any post to the front page? Smh. And @OP, Ogusbaba, I reserve my comment, but u should know that your posts are doing more harm than good for your boss! |
amaham: @omicron- u just said my mind bro, this same tax was introduced in crossriver state during duke's regime and later stopped. The house rent increment caused by it still persist eventhough it has been stopped. That's the point. Oshio is going too far and too fast with these policies of his. Everything about him and his government now is suddenly tax tax. He should berra chill and take things calmly |
centje: lol...dr omicron,no be ma faulty nahi hear. I hail o |
centje: Love garden, unecNwanne nwere ya nwayo oo! Nice pics though! |
I beg to differ with the governor. The law is not targeting only the rich. In fact the law may well affect the very poor who will be paying same tax as RENT. So you tax the rich man, the Landlord, 20, 000 for his property and he in turn, increases house rent by 1,500 for the tenants....Have u not taxed the very poor too? Too bad.... Unless he tells me he is taxing only the private homes. |
Onlytruth: If there are sane moderators in this forum, this topic should hit front page. What a way to tender a request! @topic, I think Oshiomole is going too far and too hard with the Edo state indigenes. Granted, tenement tax is a valid taxation but one must consider the peculiarities of a people. The fact that it is done elsewhere does not entirely justify doing it in any particular state as well. Moreover, the public was not carried along at all in such a matter that most directly affects them. The bill itself was against the popular opinion - for a governor that prides himself as the governor of the masses, making such a controversial law, in such a rushed and rather insensitive manner, goes against many things he had uttered in the past. Come to think of it, which houses will be taxed? Is it the millionaires' mansions in Benin City or the granpas' huts in Iguelahor? Is it going to target only people in the Cities or is it a state wide Law? Oshiomole is a vibrant leader, no doubt, and the people of Edo state love him. Yet, of late he has begun to put on some form of ruthlessness in his policies that his reputation as the People's man is now in jeopardy. Even if such qualities may be needed at critical times like this or another by any visionary leader, Oshiomole should still tread with simple caution and carry, at least, majority of the Edo state masses along, IMO. |

amobii: I think you are absolutely wrong Mr. Know all, the case never went to court, and never reported to police either, it was only reported to FA. Also Mikel was not the only one that went to Re free dressing room, he (Mikel) Coach (RDM) and One chelsea offical, to talk to clantenberg but because the it was Mikel that complaint, so the punishment would be on Mikel and not Chelsea. Moreover, chelsea fc submitted the evident to FA for investigation and after they said the evidents provided were not strong enough, chelsea FC apologised and FA fined Mikel, never support those refree and FA sometimes, if you look at Suarez case you will know they have preference to some team in England take or leave it.I think you r the Mr Know all here. Kettle calling pot black. Actually, the case was reported to the Police, though not by Mikel or Chelsea but by Black Lawyers Association. Of course the police dropped the case when evidence to support the charge was not forth-coming. More importantly, make your point without attacking anybody. Nobody has monopoly of knowledge. |
omicron: What goes around comes around ochukoccna: In what way?A simple figurative expression man, to point out that Mikel first accused the ref and lost....later the accusation was rephrased and transferred to him. Unfortunately, he was now found guilty and got served! |
