If you're truly trying to liquidate one of your assets and use the proceeds thereof as POF, there is no problem.

The problem is if the officer is swayed by this. You have to prove that you will use the funds generated towards your study as they can only analyze the origin of these funds via evidence of sale to which is difficult to verify from CA.

You will need to show commitments by paying your first semester or First year tuition from the funds and/or buy a GIC.
This further proves you're bona fide and truly dedicated financially to this endeavor.

You can use your other properties, family, societal bodies/groups, and business as ties to your home-country.
Lezy:
Please, someone advise me: Selling your property A as an additional funds for cost of study, but you still have property B, would VO have issue with that?

After submission you will receive a mail in a day or at most a week. Login to you portal and you'll find a biometric instruction letter that you'll take along to enroll for biometrics at VFS

No need to submit any hard copy of anything else your biometrics letter,2 copies of your international passport, appointment letter, your intentional passport.

When you're ready to go for your enrollment.
Thefil:
Good day all,
Please I need a few questions answered.
After the online submission do we need to submit hard copy of what was submitted online to VFS?
Does one need to wait for IRCC before going for biometrics

Read the pre-assesment part. The LES noted that the income isn't commensurate with what in the bank statement. There are inconsistencies with the financial documents you've submitted. Hence, your funds are insufficient.
Chefbella:
Hello good people,

I recently received my gcms notes, please someone should help me interpret I applied since November although it looks like a final decision has not been made.

During my application I submitted my bank statement mbs as well as my father's own but his 12 months mbs and CAC of business (real estate) I later sent two more bank statements as to show more funds in my application through webform.

Anyone with similar experiences? Your contribution is appreciated.

Have you contacted IRCC?(Lagos and Abuja Office via mail).
Did you get a biometric instructions letter?

There must have been a reason your appointment wasn't acknowledged by VFS.
shankeybee:
Good day all,
Please in a situation whereby appointment for biometrics was booked twice by one applicant. What is the best way to be attended to by vfs for biometrics?
As the applicant was not attended to on the scheduled date to be captured and was told they would have to contact IRCC before she can be captured, as a result of her booking twice.
It's been over a months now and no feedback has been gotten. Several webforms has also been raised.
Is it advisable to just withdraw the application and reapply again or just wait for a feedback from IRCC @makano @omiinii @frankrobbn1 @anon123 @destinationcann @centennialguy

If the program is not related to the person's previous degrees nor work experience. I'd advise to not go ahead with that program.
vicnoshon:
Good Morning , please I like to know the chances of this person (currently living in Nigeria) getting a Canada student visa :

1. The person's highest education is a Masters degree from a Nigerian School
2. Got admission into a Canadian school to study a graduate diploma in a course that is non-related to either first degree (B.sc) or second degree (M.sc).
3. Considering 1 and 2 above, should the person go ahead to pay the admission acceptance fee?

Thank you

Kindly order your gcms notes as these reasons are generic and do not reflect the exact concerns behind your refusal.

Good good afternoon gurus in house, please I need your assistant, my study permit was denied base on the following grounds:
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in
subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your family ties in Canada and in your country of
residence.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in
subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your personal assets and financial status. I'm planning to apply next month by using my cousin as sponsor now. Please help me out
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by Omiinii: 10:18am On May 12, 2022
If you have enough funds to cover for the expenses of you and your family through the duration of your stay in Canada and can also demonstrate that you have solid ties that can bring you back home after completion of your program, I believe you have a chance at securing visas for the whole family.

However, you have a higher chance if you apply alone. Upon your arrival in Canada your family can apply to join you.

Yes you can explain this lump sum and use the necessary documents as evidence of the sale.

I'll advise you pay your first year tuition from this amount so it'll prove to the officer that your sponsor is willing to commit to your education.
Sam796476:
Good day everyone, my sponsor received a lump sum of about ₦10million in his account. The money was gotten from the sale of a land, and I have documents to back it up including the receipt that was issued to the buyer. Is it advisable to state in the SOP that the funds from the sale of the land is solely for the purpose of study. Makano, Anon, Ominii, Osemigbo and others, Pls your opinions would really help. Thanks

If the PR is sure, then don't waste resources on this endeavor. Except you're a person of affluence and you don't mind.

Hello everyone, please if my dad is my sponsor but is willing to transfer the full tuition and living expense to my account since it is a PGC for one year. Do I still need to provide any documents relating to him? If yes, what documents do I need to show? I will be providing my bank statement showing the funds in my account and a gift letter already. Secondly, if I am granted a study leave by my company, asides the employment letter and study leave approval letter, what else do I need to provide? Thirdly, I heard that travel history is a reason for refusal, I have a new passport with no visa on it as I have not travelled outside Nigeria before. I am concerned that this may crop up, has anyone experienced this issue and was refused visa? Lastly, where can I get a template for study leave letter and gift letter? Thanks in anticipation of your response.

Yes you send to IRCC via webform/Mail. It's should be okay.
nairagrounds:
If one obtains a new LOA from the DLI that they used to get TRV, won’t they need to update the IRCC before traveling?

If so, is there a proper way of doing it? I recently updated them with my new LOA and wrote them a short message about the situation via the web form. Should that be OK, or is there more I need to do?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by Omiinii: 2:38pm On May 07, 2022
You're not banned my friend.
When you revoke your GCKey, you will not be able to use it for any Government of Canada service.

Your GCKey can't be recovered. To gain access to your account again, you would have to submit a new portal enrolment application. You should indicate that you've previously had an account.

Goodluck. God bless
Mattinno:

If I get this on my status

What does it mean

I'm trying to login and it said I have been revoked

Does that mean I'm banned
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by Omiinii: 2:09pm On May 07, 2022
You can't use the LOA from a DLI different from the one submitted in your initial application. Since you've been approved kindly reapply to the same DLI you used for your visa. Obtain a new LOA and travel. If you want to change schools you can do that from inside Canada...

Goodluck. God bless

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by Omiinii: 8:44am On May 05, 2022
Please, This information is partly correct or not correct at all. I read the persons testimony and no where did he explicitly say Crypto is acceptable source of income or he used crypto to prove his income.

He tendered his futures trading account and trading history via binance. He showed proof of the proceeds and the transfer from his trading account to his normal bank account. This was the major takeaway from his antecode amongst other things he did to prove he account earned the profits.

He didn't use an investment in crypto as evidence of source of funds.

The image attached confirms my claims. That's IRCC's take on cryptocurrency.

@eniola1010 since you're into forex, you can show evidence of your earnings at least for the past six months. Highlight the transfer of profits to your bank account and hope for the best.

Other gurus can weigh in and correct me if I'm mistaken.

Goodluck. God bless
ami213:
Forex and crypto is an acceptable source of income as long as you can proof the source (binance receipt etc)
A moniker recently got PPR by using binance receipts as POF.

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by Omiinii:
From what was explained. This is what my little brain understands.

1.) @Shadesbyespoir International students can now use online study taken until August 31, 2022 toward their PGWP eligibility.

2.) You've completed your program, therefore I believe that if your study programs is with an eligible Designated Learning Institution (DLI) and meet other PGWP requirements. You're good to go(I'm assuming your goal is PR so this is a necessary step to that)

3.) However, because it's a joint masters degree program. I have some uncertainties.
It's is mandatory that the shortest length a program may be is eight months. But IRCC stance on Canadian study programs with an overseas component states that: If your study program has an overseas component, you may be eligible for a PGWP as long as you earn a credit from a Canadian school for it. The PGWP will only be valid for the length of the time you studied in Canada so I believe regardless of the bolded in this paragraph you are still eligibility for a 1 year PGWP.

4.) So with your 2 months visa it's imperative you act quick. you can either go to CA and apply for PGWP or possibly apply for another program and extend. But I think you have to physically be in Canada to do that.

Let other gurus weigh in as well.

Goodluck God bless

DestinationCann:
What you got on your passport simply means you have to enter Canada within 2 months.

It's when you get to Canada they'll give you student permit to stay in Canada as a student for the length of your study.

@ Omiinii, please help shed more light
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by Omiinii: 9:01pm On May 03, 2022
You're right. However IRCC doesn't put that into consideration when evaluating your app. It's not even compulsory. It's just a way to increase your odds of approval. That's if your financially buoyant. That's how you prove you truly own the funds in your account. Show undeniably commitments.

ActivatedDreams:
Since the money you will use to fund your GIC is aboki dollar which would be high, I think just leaving your naira in your bank account is sufficient for living expenses after paying your tuition fee.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by Omiinii: 6:39pm On May 03, 2022
Financially, I believe you'll be well off if Full tuition is paid and &10k GIC is bought. Prove funds for subsequent years(if there is) and address other aspects of your application and your visa issuance is highly probable.
Isyma:
Guys pls, if you pay tuition deposit, secure GIC of 10k CAD, do you think it's worthy enough to secure visa?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by Omiinii:

It doesn't come with PGWP kan kan abi na the way you type am. You'll be eligible for PGWP. but the process isn't automatic. Boom! You have PGWP. When the interaction start with lies, I'll advise you flee.

1.)Graduate Diploma in marine studies (fisheries resource management)

2.)Graduate Diploma in Ocean Technology

3.)Master of Marine Management

I have been confused over a couple of weeks now on how to navigate around any issue.
I have been on intensive search for a Canadian college that offers two years Pgd in Marine navigation management technology but quite unfortunately the school have such program for one year advanced diploma.
Secondly I saw another related program in same school and same campus (Nscc straite campus), Marine Navigation Technology for three years diploma (two years for studies while one year is for co-op).
Gurus in the house please what would you advise me do? @Makano, Frankrobbn1, Lekiboboe, Omiinii and others who has been in this confined space before.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by Omiinii: 3:03pm On Apr 28, 2022
It's unfortunate what's going on with ASUU. I'd advise you finish your program then apply for a post graduate program. I'm saying so because there'll be close to a four year gap in your academic profile and that could pose a problem in the evaluation of your application.

However if age is on your side, you can apply to schools without your first degree. With a well detailed study plan you'll be fine in my books.

There are also various factors to consider. You can shoot me a mail so we can discuss about your situation in detail.
