CrazyMan: I would advise you to ask God for wisdom and understanding. Cos from experience, I've noticed that it takes less than 10 minutes to read a chapter but a life time to understand. Therefor endavour to ask for guidance from the holy spirit and I'm sure that you would have no regrets.Thank you. God bless ![]() |

A woman invited some people to dinner. At the table, she turned to her six-year-old daughter and said, "Would you like to say the blessing?" "I wouldn't know what to say," the little girl replied. "Just say what you hear Mommy say," the mother said. The little girl bowed her head and said, "Dear Lord, why on earth did I invite all these people to dinner?" |

Uyi Iredia: I have read the entire Bible before but the problem is doing it again. The way I'm doing it with the Study makes it very interesting. I'm reading about Joseph at the moment. Study 33 Genesis 41: 14-57 1. What in Joseph so impressed Pharoah and his court that he was made ruler of Egypt? Compare your own character and consistency with his, and consider where you fall short. 2. If we have found in Christ the Bread of life, and men around us are perishing, what spiritual lesson may we draw from verses 54-57? ![]() |
Acidosis: Yes I have, in my secondary school days.Wow!! That's awesome. How long did it take you? |
Here's an example: Study 12 Luke 5: 1-11 1. Put yourself in the place of Simon. Trace the development of his attitude to Jesus in the successive phases of the story. In what ways is he an example to us? 2. Jesus needed fellow-workers. How and where did He find them? What marked out Simon and his colleagues as suitable? What were, for them, the conditions of being used? The questions have made me search the scriptures a bit more in-depth and I sometimes have to google to get different perspectives ![]() |
I started 'Search the Scriptures' this year. It's a 3-year bible study course by Alan M Stibbs (to complete the entire Bible). It's absolutely fantastic. It takes me about 20mins a day with the questions after you read the passage. I think it will take me less than 3 years to complete it as sometimes I get carried away with a certain subject and read 2 or 3 days worth in a day. The questions afterwards makes the passage really sink in ![]() I have seen 'Read the Bible in a year' books but those ones are just to read entire chapters etc ![]() |

My mum decided to interfere in this married couples bizness whilst in Nigeria. She lived in England for many years (we were born here) then relocated to Nigeria. She saw this young wife doing all the housework and pulled her husband up over it. She admonished him and said he needed to help his wife with the cooking as men overseas helped their wives ![]() Anyway, the man agreed to cook the stew. The wife came round to our house the next morning and said whilst the husband was frying the meat, he finished all of it and now nothing to cook the stew with ![]() Mum never interfered after that ![]() |

Ayomivic: If we are secretly committing sins, that is when we open doors for Satan or invited Satan to torment us.Absolutely. He then has a ground against us. |

A Russian captain used to love to disguise himself and mingle with his subjects to hear what they might have to say. One night he visited the barracks and listened to the conversation of the soldiers. While passing a tent he observed a young officer sitting at a table with his head on his arm, sound asleep. The captain tiptoed to the back of the chair and looked over his shoulder. There on the table before him he saw, to his amazement, a loaded revolver (gun). Beside the revolver was a sheet of paper and on the paper a long list of gambling debts. The captain noted the total and was about to turn away when, suddenly, he saw that there was something written below the column of figures. Stepping closer, he read the words: “Who can pay so much?”. In a flash he grasped the situation. The young officer had gambled everything he had. He was deeply in debt, and he had no way of meeting his obligations. Hence his decision to blow his brains out and end it all. But, after writing the words, “Who can pay so much?”, he had fallen asleep. Soon he would be awakened, and then....... The captain at first decided to report him. Then, remembering that he was a friend of the young man's father, he changed his decision. Taking up the pen that had fallen from the hand of the young man and dipping it in the ink, he looked for a moment again at the question before him: “Who can pay so much?” Then, stooping over, he wrote one word underneath, “Alexander” . Quietly he turned away. Presently the young officer opened his eyes, picked up the revolver and slowly raised it to his brow. But, just before pulling the trigger, he glanced for the last time at the list of his debts. Then he read once more what he had written: “Who can pay so much?” Suddenly he bent nearer. There was another word on the paper. He read it------“Alexander”. In amazement he dropped to revolver from his hand. He recognized the handwriting. The captain had been there. With great joy he read again the writing: “Who can pay so much?” “Alexander.” Next morning, sure enough a messenger came with a bag of money from the captain. His debts were paid and his life saved. Friend, you, too, have accumulated a debt, a debt that you can never hope to pay-----a debt of sin. And when you realize it, you too, will cry: “Who can pay so much?” and then God will answer, “JESUS.” Yes, Jesus settled the account. He became the payment FOR YOUR DEBT OF SIN. Listen! “God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them”. (2 Cor. 5: 19). Isn't that glorious? “Not imputing (charging against or reckoning to) their trespasses (sins) unto them.” And why not? Because He imputed, charged against, or reckoned, them to Christ. Your sins were placed to Christ's account when He died on Calvary. Therefore you can go free. Your debt has been paid. “Jesus paid it all.” What a wonderful news! But not only did He die to make atonement, He rose again, and now He lives to save. “Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. For He hath made Him to be sin for us, Who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him” (2 Cor. 5: 18-21). Oh my friend, believe God and accept His Son, The Lord Jesus Christ, as your Saviour, (for there is no any other name whereby you might be saved), for He has paid all your debt of sin that you might go free. Will you do it? Do it and do it-----NOW. http://www.newlifetower.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=108:who-can-pay-so-much&catid=31:general&Itemid=46 |
