TravelRe: What Did You First Experience In The US? by omoge(f): 11:29am On May 03, 2007
lol

mine:
using the laundry machine, each time i went, i bring back my clothes! i kept asking myself, which kin thing be this?
3months passed still haven't done my laundry. thank God it's was winter time and i had lots of clothes to change into/shop for new ones. then i met a PG student from Naija. We chatted abt and then I asked him abt the laundry machine. He took me there to show me how, but then he kept telling every Tom, Dick and Harry that came in to do their laundry

"you see, this fine girl is from Africa and am showing her how to use the machine" I felt so embarrassed. why telling all the oyinbo that now? and they all looking at me in a funny way, fine girl can't use the machine

Throughout my 1st year, I always throw away the coins cuz I couldn't understand it. which one is dime, nickel or penny? whenever i'm given a change i will throw it away. i will have some coins but will use the paper money instead. then one day my roommate said, girl you should be saving those coins and then make a deposit at the end of the year, following year i saved and deposited it, it almost reached 100 o grin

ran down to eat at the cafe but ran out cuz milk and juice too cold and in winter grin
entered the school bus from dorms to class, took me all around the huge school cuz i didn't know where i was going and shy to ask grin
share yours, more to come.
the memories lingers grin

mekoyo, right there. if you don't have anything to hide, am sure you wouldn't worry abt anyone picking up the phone cheesy.

For note, ladies and gentlemen, don't worry o, when he or she starts acting up when you touch the phone, just go online and you will find out who he or she is calling/texting. and for a lil amount (maybe free self), you could get the whole conversation, in soft or hard copy grin

don't touch his phone, go online cheesy.
TravelRe: Nairobi Photos (kenya): A Beautiful East African City by omoge(f): 1:29pm On May 02, 2007
Very nice pictures.

But I was watching the America Idol give back last week, Bono, Simeon Cowell, Ryan, Randy and the rest went to Africa, Kenya was shown. Oh my goodness  cry!! I couldn't believe what I saw.
Now with the beautiful picture here, my question is why is motherland Africa like this? Some place 100%  beautiful, some other place 100% dirty and not fit for living.

RomanceRe: My Girlfriend Squats With A Guy In School by omoge(f): 2:23pm On Apr 27, 2007
I don't know how it is in your girl's place. but i have seen opposite roommates, like 2 bedroom apt. they share kitchen and bathroom, some don't share anything, each with their own kitchen and bath. some pple share cuz of the cost of renting alone is too much.

you just have to find out hopefully they are not sharing one bedroom apt.

in ma school, male and female students share apt, i don't really like it but it's common.

she can look for a female to share with.
don't worry, just find out what kind of apt they have, smile.

true there was Bongos tea and Kettle tea, during the time goody goody was in vogue, as well as Lipton and blueband. yeah bongos tea and kettle tea, that their name. It just disappeared from the market, i heard it was one of those stuffs that was banned from importation. i think like early 80's when i was kiddy, it was still being sold.

the tea normally had to be filtered after making it. smiley
i guess it wasn't that common but we do use it in ma home. the aroma was sooooooooo wink wink. i used to like it more than Lipton.

We had a lipton bag in a flask of hot water, sorrounded by little rubber cups of different colors,a loaf of bread nearby,a tin of carnation milk,(blueband margarine and queen of the coast on a good day )

i wonder if those kind lovely breakie is still out there today, days gone by smiley

what do ya all think of Nigeria bread compare to bread around the world? i think i will give thumb up for nig bakeries.

@ spoilt

you mean any of the Yaky or do you have any specific brand? thanks girl. I have used Yaky before (on a permed hair and it was glued in) it stayed for 3days and then it started tangling, and then coming out. Have you done the sewn one before? how was it? Yes I'm ready to cough out that dough lol as long as it will stay a bit longer. wink

@ Weslesyan,

you are right. well it's not permed yet (as of today) lol. wink
I can braid it myself but not that long to handle myself.

HealthRe: Doctors And Hospitals In Nigeria by omoge(f): 11:47pm On Apr 21, 2007
toshmann, are you implying that I encouraged him  cry if so, it's like am undergoing what he did all over. I grew up as a military brat,  grin (just a nickname for military kids). i was a tough girl while growing up, but i refused to slap him or whatever. maybe i was afraid, I didn't fight Dr. U.  so if you're implying that i encouraged him, that's sad and a wrong assumption sad. I was a girl of 15years by then mind you. well, i didn't fight him, i heard of stories of rape etc,  as young and confused as i was then, i rushed out of his office. I never encouraged him, nor accept his advances. so don't talk as if you are blaming me. I was raised well okay  grin. You wouldn't understand because you weren't in my shoe. The best I did back then was to leave his office.

All the same, I thank God for a well lived youth unspoilt by men/guys.  grin cheesy wink
