Godarz: Personally i think that the only way Nigeria can progress is simply by using our resources to fire up industrial development so that we can sell industrial products globally
That would put us on the path to peaceful restructuring in my mind.
Not the restructuring where we would end up arguing over who controls resources
Good afternoon.
By the way why did you insult me? I did not insult you. I see no reason why you should call me daft.
Thanks I apologize for that .No vex . I usually get upset when people use that northern phrase that they don't understand what restructuring is" meanwhile it's just a way for them to keeping enjoying this evil status quo . |
Politics › Re: Nigeria Must Restructure Or Face Disastrous Break-up –utomi, Others by omoharry(f): 12:29pm On Feb 21, 2021 |
Godarz: So far no one has been able to tell me what restructuring.means other than "The South gets all the oil money while the North can go rely on agriculture "
Which sets the stage for a huge tribal conflict about who controls the resources
Nigeria's problem is not restructuring. Our problem is that we think our abundant resources makes us a rich nation plus we think we can make a living by just selling the resources.
That's not how rich nations roll.
If we don't get rid of that attitude of ours, restructuring is a one way trip to anarchy.
And i am saying this not because i am an apc or buhari supporter. (I Dont back pdp or apc, and i refused to vote for buhari because he was being promoted as a saviour and Nigeria does not need a saviour unless we want to go back to one man rule )
I am saying this because i am a realist and because the only countries i know that separated peacefully did so because they were economies based on what they could make with their hands not resources they could sell . You reason like our daft northern politician ..How can you say you don't know what restructuring is ? Why don't you stop being lazy and read up the various national conferences that have been held in order to bring a lasting solution to Nigerias problem . How can you Say the only thing that northerners have is just agriculture ? What about the various natural resources, like the various mineral &precious stones underneat their ground ? What about gold underneat thier ground? What about the rich soil of the diverse land in the north that is enough to feed the whole country and can be exported as well ? What about the more than enough man power to drive thier economy ? What about tourism? Considering the natural, beautiful enviroment that is endowed with beautiful rocks , mountains , water falls , animal conservation with various tourist attraction that the north is endowed with ? Do you know how much tourism alone bring to a nation not to talk of just a region? You guys just like to sit around & do nothing .Then only think of how to lazily get free money from Abuja every month, due to the oil from the Niger Delta, which is barely enough to go round . Can't you people think beyond oil? Our leaders are all mentally lazy, that is why they have choose the status quo, becos it afford them to be lazy and collect free money, which they can embezzle without being question . Pls try & think outside the box and don't be like our leaders that are mentally lazy. There is no region that will go hungry if we restructure Nigeria . The North on the other hand, would be the richest region when restructured .This can happen if only they put thier brain to work by educating thier people and empowering them to start thinking outside thier small word of begging and sitting idle and waiting for free money from the rich . |

election2023: There are steps ATIKU can take to become the next president of Nigeria.
(1) Make peace and good dialogue with Ibrahim Babangida, Obasanjo, Abdulsalam, Theophilus Danjuma.
(2) Make peace and good dialogue with President Muhammadu Buhari.
(3) Make peace and good dialogue with Northern elders, South-South elders and South-Eastern elders.
(4) Make peace and good dialogue with America, China.
(5) Work towards winning the North, East and South South.
(6) Choose Igbo VP or South-South VP. God forbid that another Fulani man will rule us again .We are still dying under this mistake we made and you are mentioning the name of another one of same stock . This Atiku that refused to conderm the evil activities of his people is thesame person u want to come and rule us again . These people are all thesame oo! Are you saying from the whole of the 200million Nigerians ,with the youth making 70% of the pupulation , we cannot come together and vote in a creditable person ? Politics › ESN Vs Military: Calmness Returns To Orlu by omoharry(op): 4:13pm On Feb 20, 2021 |
Calmness has returned back to the Orlu and Orsu local government areas of Imo state, a day after the military invaded the forest to destroy the camps of the Eastern Security Network, ESN, in the areas. When Vanguard yesterday called residents in the affected places at about 03: 45 pm, they confirmed that businesses and vehicular movement have all kicked off in full activities. According to one of those who spoke to Vanguard, a motorcyclist, who said his name, Uchechukwu Amadi, said: “Nothing is happening again, all of us are going about our businesses. The military went into the forest and after their operation we have not seen them again. “You can see the banana junction every where is calm and people are going into the market and coming out. You can see busses from Orlu to Owerri. People are moving freely.” He continued: “What I want to beg is that the government should settle with the Eastern Security network of the Biafra. We don’t want this tension here again.” Commenting on the incident, the Imo state government through the state commissioner for Information, Declan Emelumba, said: “The attention of imo State government has been drawn to malicious rumours circulating around that the security situation in Orlu and environs has worsened. “The purveyors of this tale went even further to impute that security forces have been shooting sporadically and arresting innocent citizens. “For the avoidance of doubt, there is no truth whatsoever in those stories. If anything, the situation in Orlu has since been brought under control. There is absolute peace and calm in the city as people are going about their normal duties. “Government is aware that opposition elements who abinitio instigated the crisis for selfish reasons are not happy that government quickly arrested the situation, hence the rumours.” “Government assures all law abiding Nigerians living in Orlu or passing through the town that the city is completely safe. There should therefore go about their lawful businesses without any let. “No matter the level of provocation, imo State government under the leadership of Governor Hope Uzodinma will continue to discharge its primary duty of protection of lives and property,” Emelumba said. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2021/02/esn-vs-military-calmness-returns-to-orlu/amp/ |

Bashir75: It’s difficult because Yorubas and Igbo have different cultures and their orientations are different as well. I promise you, the ethnic war will start between Yorubas and Igbo. Yorubas don’t like to be controlled and dominated but Igbos desire control and domination. Yorubas are successful multi religious society where in every Yoruba family there is Christians, muslims and traditionalists without pretence. In contrast, Igbos pretend to be christians than romans that’s why they cry foul of norther religion domination. In Yorubaland, it’s not an issue because that christian/muslim wealthy leader will accommodate all faiths as long they belong to the family.
Every region in the South, doesn’t like Igbos tendency to dominate and the push back is a public knowledge even in the South-South. Yorubas like to be their own boss and the hatred of the Yorubas by Igbos have created a wound or division that a little disagreement will cause war/deportation. The Yorubas feel they have a huge advantage to be a nation of their own, their diversity, education, hospitality and proximity of the Southwest to other West African border countries, water/ Atlantic is so enticing to every Nigeria and even foreign investors. Lastly, Lagos is the Carlifonia/Texas of Southwest nation. It can only get better with Lagos that other western states can make huge revenue from Lagos alone. We have farmlands, seas, rivers, Rail system that can be extend to other states, massive natural resources, massive refinery in Lekki, over 45 million population, gold in Osun, cement in Ogun and Oyo, Bitumen and Cocoa in Ekiti and Ondo. We can feed the whole nation and West African countries. Less I forget, Education. what are u all arguing about ? If we must have a southern Nigeria then it has to be in a federation unit system in that every state will be independent and pay tax to the federal govt ..It could be like the United Kingdom, where every state or region will have to manage thier own affairs independently, then pay tax to the federal govt ..We could run a parliamentary system of govt instead of the presidential system .We must all look at the positive side over the negative things that devide us.But before we become a nation, there must be a road map by our intelligent mind across the south on how to build a new southern Nigeria that is devoid of ethic& religious prejudice that that is presently destroying Nigeria . Measures must place to reduce these evil factors . Finally, a referendum clause must be included in our constitution to provide freedom for any ethnic national that want out of the union in the future . By doing that ,it will mean that every ethnic group is part of southern Nigeria without duress . We need to a way out if this hell we call a large country . I would rather live in a smaller secured south Nigeria than in an unsecured bigger Nigeria where nepotism and ethics hatred strive . |

SoulMus: The problem with this offer is Niger Republic might want to join as well, sadly our resources can't cater for too many heads Our people once said that it's only a stupid chicken sitting on top of a sack of corn that will die of hunger just becos it did not occurs to it that his beak could be use to tear through the sack to eat of the corn" .This also applies to Nigeria; who does not realized that every region and state has thier own resources that can make Her a wealthy nation ; if only they could decentralized the power from the top and allow the state to be independent and pay tax to the federal govt . However new countries willing to join Nigeria must come with something (this should be after Nigeria has been restructured) . Therefore, any country that has no resources, be it natural or human, must not be allowed to join us. If not they will be one liabilities and a menace in our society. |

Politics › Re: Why Northerners Are Urging Their People Not To Avenge Ibadan Attacks by omoharry(f): 4:11pm On Feb 17, 2021 |
hotwax: Many opinions have pointed out that Northern leaders are being diplomatic and civil for asking Northerners not to attack Yorubas. Atleast if you are aged over 15years. You would have learnt over the years that North is the hot bed of sectarian violence. Religion and ethnic cleansing is a commonplace in the north. Any cough in Yorubaland always lead to full blown massacre in the North.
But what changed this time around?
The number 1 reason is, Yorubas are getting tired of Nigeria and are becoming violent. Yorubas are getting tired of being accommodating, they have lost a lot (Lives and Properties) to being friendly host to other tribes. The level of fulani-hausa resentment is growing in Yoruba land. An average Yoruba man (Leave out the political class and their beneficiaries) want yorubas to leave Nigeria and start "Yoruba Nation".
In the past 10years, Odua nation was a poor selling brand among yorubas. But like Biafra people, Odua nation is getting popular among Yorubas both at home and in Diaspora. Many notable yoruba leaders are now publicly supporting Odua country. And this is becoming a shock to Northern leaders.
Northern leaders know that the unity of this country is at the most fragile point. Any attempt to avenge will cause more ripple effect and lead to full scale war. Some of us are aware of Yoruba secessionists who are preparing for militancy (Not Sunday Igboho gang). These set of people will take advantage of the situation and set the country on fire. Northerners know how brutal Yorubas can be. Ibadan attack was just a random burning of properties. But Ile-Ife was a massacre. Ile-Ife/Modakeke people have no joy when it comes to killing. These are just examples of what Yorubas are capable of.
Its a common knowledge even to the presidency that our law enforcement and military are overstretched or incapable. They are only trained to protect fulani interest and shoot at unarmed civilians. They have proven over and over that they cannot withstand an armed group e.g. Boko haram, Bandits, ESN, Sunday Igboho. Remember Yoruba-hausa clash in mile 12? When the police came to join hausas to shoot Yorubas. But the endsars protest that saw many police killed, many police stations burnt have shown Nigerian Nigerian police what bloody Yoruba civilian are capable of.
Fagba in Agege is also another example of what Yoruba tout are capable of. Next ethnic clash will be gory as Northern reliance on armed force for support will fail.
In addition, a civil war will end fulanization agenda. And fulanis are wise not to invest in any venture that can lead to them loosing power.
Nigeria unity is really very fragile now. God help us. thier son is in power and He is not doing so well In taking charge of things at the moment So they don't want to throw Nigeria into a full blown war that will be too much for him to handle . |

drlateef: From most of the responses so far, I can now understand why protesters chose Lekki Toll gate as their hangout. They are not really protesting against police brutality. Rather they are angry with government for borrowing money to build a bridge and collecting toll to pay the debt. In as much as I love accountability too, it appears that rather than demand for accountability, these protesters wanted the whole bridge development to be demolished and no toll collected. In many developed countries, monies are borrowed to develop infrastructure and people pay toll on roads to be able to recoup the debts back. Yet they pay more taxes than we pay in Nigeria. Yet they don’t complain. But the people can demand for information and accountability instead of destroying the structures. And I know that these protests are sponsored by enemies of Tinubu because they could not match his financial strength during elections. That’s the crux of the matter. There are a few gullible ones among the protesters who may not know what’s happening. But the truth must be told for who cares to know the truth. Your comment lack any form of intelligence . Keep ur emotion in check and comment like an educated person. |
