THE LAST WORDS OF KEN SARO-WIWA: "Lord take my soul but the struggle continues." |
"A man may die, nations may rise and fall, but an idea lives on." --- J. F. Kennedy |

LAST WORDS OF Andrew Jackson, US President 1845: "Oh, do not cry - be good childred and we will all meet in heaven." |
THE LAST WORDS: When Jesus Christ was about to give up the ghost, his last words were "It is finished. Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit." Before he died on May 29, 1942, a famous actor, John Barrymore, was quoted to have declared: "Die? I should say not, dear fellow, No. Barrymore would allow such a thing to happen to him." On the brink of death, Johannes Brahms, a Composer, was quoted as saying, "Ah, that tastes nice. Thank you", on April 3, 1897. I promise to post the last words of famous people on this thread. But if I may ask, WHAT WOULD YOU PREFER AS YOUR OWN LAST WORDS WHEN FACE TO FACE WITH DEATH? ---omokemesi |
What is at the back of the mind of those who usually use prohibited drugs in sports? To make money by all means or to make name by all means? |

MY MIND TODAY: Bill Gate of America has spent millions of dollars in his philanthropic bid to eradicate Polio in Nigeria and some other countries in Africa. Thank you Mr. Bill Gate of America. But who are the "BILL GATES OF NIGERIA"? What are they doing? |
"it is time to break through the barriers that have held you back and held you down for such a long time. It is time to reach out and indelibly etch your place in history." ---GREG HICKMAN |
@Dolemite: Please, ask Seun. He must have been the highest Poster. Note that the question is not who is the best poster but who is the highest poster. Personally, I don't like the way some Nairalanders contribute to discussions which invariably increase the number of their posts. Imagine somebody who posted "Immm " or "Ha a a " to a very important discussion and that has increased his or her number of posts! |
The first Poster on Nairaland is the highest poster. Guess |
Students in SS I and SS II classes should not be allowed to attempt May/June WAEC, NECO and JAMB exams. They embarrassingly increase the figure of failures often recorded by these exam bodies. Let there be a special arrangement for those students in lower classes whose parents usually want to merely "practice" with the finalists because they have the money. Secondly, the performances of the final year students of each secondary school should be one of those things to be considered before promotion of the teachers, vice principal and principal of such school. At the state level, Inspectors of Education, secondary schools, should have their own share of the blame and penalty for state-wide poor results. Students who score less than 50% overall should not be promoted right from JSS I. A situation whereby a student who said 2+1 =5 is promoted to a class where he would be asked 8 +7 is nothing but a disaster. OMOKEMESI |
How many people will I help today? I promise to help at least one person today. My dear viewers, please make sure you fulfil your promise! |
"Be more concerned with your character than your reputation because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are." -- JOHN WOODEN |
Millions of Nigerians will go to church today. Sermons on thousands of topics will be delivered by men of God. How many of us will put to practice the lessons we are going to learn from such sermons? |
"God's grace can save souls without any preaching; but all the preaching in the world cannot save souls without God's grace." --B. Beddome |
