Politics / Re: How to shut down Nigeria - lessons from MASSOB by omon(m): 2:27pm On Dec 09, 2005
There is no questioning the fact that we have to fight for social and economic stability that is lacking in Nigeria right now. I wholeheartedly support you on that. My point however, is that it should not be done the 'MASSOB or Asari's ways'. There are more civilised ways to bring the kind of freedom we so earnestly seek.
Politics / Re: Bayelsa State: DSP Alamieyeseigha Impeached and Arrested by omon(m): 2:23pm On Dec 09, 2005
Britain has failed us first time, I don't think it will be wise to trust them again. He should be prosecuted in Nigeria

'Good riddance to bad rubbish'.. This will serve as a warning to others who think their political posts are their birth rights.
Politics / Re: How to shut down Nigeria - lessons from MASSOB by omon(m): 1:55pm On Dec 09, 2005
It is easy to see how people can be blinded by empty men who end up confusing their people. First of all, the Ukranians did not carry guns, abduct people and kill innocent lives to make their point. There was a genuine course for the fight. The likes of Asari and MASSOB should have come out during the evil reign of the Millitary of the supposedly rigged 2003 elections. Then, they would have had a legitimate fight and would have gotten the support of all. If you want Nigeria to end up like Sudan and Liberia, you can carry on the way you are doing right now. Only you and your people will suffer it and would tarnish the hopes of the youths in your region.

The drums of war and bloodshed is not the same as fighting for freedom. If that is the kind of vision you have for Nigeria, I am sorry, you are on your own.
Travel / Re: Can You Drive With A Nigerian Licence Outside Nigeria? by omon(m): 6:48pm On Dec 07, 2005
The international driving license issued in Nigeria is valid for one year (only) in the UK. You will have to get the UK driving license after that.

Christmas is not celebrated in the UK....It is a 'MASSOB sit at home order' that day...the most boring thing on earth... Nigeria is certainly the bomb!
Travel / Re: We Miss Nigeria Because by omon(m): 9:30pm On Dec 04, 2005
The good old days, when NEPA misbehaves and the moon on full circle. We all chart and laugh and play all funny pranks on each other.....and later settle to down to listen to 'Grand Pa' tell his stories of the forever wise tortoise with some hot roasted corn in our hands....hmmm
Business / Re: Alhaji Aliko Dangote: What do you know about him? by omon(m): 9:00pm On Dec 03, 2005
Why do you guys complain of a hardworking man. Would you rather have him take those investments to swiss bank or Ghana kpa-kpa, or have the foreigners buy up our assets? I think we should commend a man who believes in his country.

Lets not be too oquickk to judge..the last of Balogun has not been heard. He is to re-appear in court again to answer a charge against him for laundering about 4billion naira. He might get more years this time.

Politics / Re: Bayelsa State Governor Escapes from London, UK (Now in Nigeria!) by omon(m): 12:12pm On Nov 30, 2005
@Otokx, sorry if I sounded personal, I never intended such. You are perhaps, one of my pals I have back in Nigeria. However, the truth is that we must not allow the ugly drama being played by our elders to last longer than necessary. This is the time we must take our stand!

A UK trained doctor who comes to Nigeria will also take some time to settle down
Politics / Re: Bayelsa State Governor Escapes from London, UK (Now in Nigeria!) by omon(m): 11:10pm On Nov 29, 2005
People like Otokx make Nigeria a very difficult place...how can you be staring at a monster in the face and prefer to sing of his praise. I used to have visions that it will take our generation to change Nigeria for good.  What can we do with people like Otokx?  Next time they come around again to give you money, please tell them you have changed your mind and you have joined the bandwagon to uproot proverty, deprivation and despair from our land.  It is just an advice!
Politics / Re: Bayelsa State Governor Escapes from London, UK (Now in Nigeria!) by omon(m): 12:32pm On Nov 29, 2005
@otokx, have u been brave enough to ask your governor why he stole state funds? Pose your anger to Alamsco and not OBJ.
Politics / Re: Bayelsa State Governor Escapes from London, UK (Now in Nigeria!) by omon(m): 10:38pm On Nov 28, 2005
To tell you the truth, It is hard to imagine how Nigerians think....... Even if it was another person, say from the Western part of the country or a minister that was caught, this same set of people would have alleged that OBJ is not doing enough and there are many more in the coven of corruption. That is indeed true - however, there must be a first! and that has turned out to be Alams.. rest the case there and lets pray he is decisively dealth with.
Politics / Re: Who is Wrestling Corruption in Nigeria? by omon(m): 1:08pm On Nov 28, 2005
Has OBJ said he is going for a third term. Theu guy has repeatedly denied it in the past, what more do you want him to say? It is the same Nigerians (Sycophants) that are drumming the beats of a thrid term, not OBJ.

I was personally expecting Balogun to be jailed for a longer term but it is important to note that he has been CONVICTED and his properties confisticated. That is good enough for me, he simply would have walked out scot free in the past.
Politics / Re: Who is Wrestling Corruption in Nigeria? by omon(m): 1:53am On Nov 28, 2005
I see why Nigeria is hard to govern. When OBJ did not do anything, you guys complained, now that this campaign for the first time in the history of the country seem to be working, you guys still complain even when it is apparent that his close friends have been entangled. You make noise and offer not to help. Help the course and see that it succeeds, then corruption will be a thing of the past in Nigeria.
Politics / Re: Bayelsa State Governor Escapes from London, UK (Now in Nigeria!) by omon(m): 6:16pm On Nov 22, 2005
E still better say the guy waka free. At least that puts a dent on his political image plus he stands to loose a lot of his properties, I hope they recover all.
Politics / Re: Bayelsa State Governor Escapes from London, UK (Now in Nigeria!) by omon(m): 5:37pm On Nov 22, 2005
I just got wind of that information from a live online radio...It may be true that Balogun may be heading to the prison

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/4460740.stm

It is confirmed! Balogun will go behind bars. So many drama this month, a Ghanian MP has also been arrested in the US for carrying heroine. He immediately claimed immunity, but was denied...hahaha
Politics / Re: Bayelsa State Governor Escapes from London, UK (Now in Nigeria!) by omon(m): 5:28pm On Nov 22, 2005
Guys, is it true that Balogun has been sentenced to 6 months imprisonment?  That will be good riddance to bad rubbish.  I hope that will extend to Alams one day.
Politics / Re: Bayelsa State Governor Escapes from London, UK (Now in Nigeria!) by omon(m): 3:59pm On Nov 22, 2005
I used to belive in the struggle by the Ijaw people, nut not any longer, I am sick of them now. After the actions of Asari and Alams, it is clear these people don't even know what they want.. I am now beginning to understand why the Northerners never wanted an increment in the oil resource allocation. Such monies will only end up in the pockets of celebrated thieves like Asari and Alams..
Politics / Re: Bayelsa State Governor Escapes from London, UK (Now in Nigeria!) by omon(m): 10:13pm On Nov 21, 2005
He has disgraced himself as an ambassador of the nation...surely, he will never get away with this. All Ijaws should denounce this.
Politics / Re: Bayelsa State Governor Escapes from London, UK (Now in Nigeria!) by omon(m): 6:54pm On Nov 21, 2005
He escaped from london dressed as a woman...This is a tragedy for him to stoop so low.

Just watched with sadness (on AIT-BEN tv) the impoverished people of Bayelsa in a dance of shame to welcome a thief...You could visibly see fustration and poverty written all over their faces, and this is supposed to be one of the richest states in terms of federal allocations. May God deliver the Ijaws!
TV/Movies / Re: 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire' in Nigeria by omon(m): 1:46pm On Nov 21, 2005
@Z4me4eva, I totally disagree with you. If there is any country that is a copy-cat, then it is Britain. Check programmes like 'Britain's Most Beautiful Model', The X-factor etc, all these are copied programmes from America. You do not know if the Nigerian programme has been licensed by the owner.
Politics / Re: Bayelsa State Governor Escapes from London, UK (Now in Nigeria!) by omon(m): 1:15pm On Nov 21, 2005
But then, we must look for a way to punish these guys, they will never leave unscathed! If the Ijaws must represent the symbol of the struggle to remove poverty from our land, then we must stamp out the evils of men that has overwhelmed Alamieyisiegha.. The problem we may have is when all these idle traditional rulers start paying homage to a thief in the name of solidiarty.

The Bayelsa house of Assembly must be brave enough too confron the Gov on why he was arrested in the first place. What about those guys who signed for him to get bail in the first place? Those guys must be in soup in the UK I suppose. It also has its good effects, no thieving governor will dare the UK right now.  The Uk police have been fooled twice, they won't want to be fooled a third time
