My sister is scheduled for a visa interview 1 week after her wedding. She will not have gotten all the necessary documents for change of name and her passport will still have her maiden name. I believe being married may improve her chances of being approved as this shows her closer ties to Nigeria. Should she come with her old passport and come with her supporting marriage documents or better for her to reschedule till when she gets her passport renewed with the new last name?

Also, in the DS160 form, I indicated I will be the sponsor. What supporting documents do I need to give her to take along; my paystub, account statement etc? I am a US permanent resident residing in the US.

SW will never vote massively for GEJ, they voted for him in the last election because they thought he was "different" which he has proven not to be. They will prefer to pitch their tent under anybody APC drops because APC is in control and covering their faces with infrastructural development in the region.

SS and SE are going GEJ's way but with a formidable VP from APC, there can be a block vote from their.

The only thing that can stop a northerner from winning is if both PDM and APC present formidable northern candidates, that will divide north's vote. Both NE and NW will not vote for GEJ, just the same reason SS and SE will vote for GEJ.

so with a better analysis, SW+NE+NW go APC(or a northern candidate's way) while SS +SE+part of NC go GEJ's way. Where do you have the most population? NW and SW, now you see that what GEJ must do is ensure two formidable northern candidates emerge or else, its back to Otuoke.

1.Not really. But suspension might not really be much of a surprise to him considering the fact that the powers in PDP had ignored him like a leper for a long time. There's nothing new by "officialising" the so called suspension via a press release.

2.So suspension in this case signals more of what's coming. The option of destabilizing Rivers state to activate state of emergency is not attractive. So, they can't unleash ex-militants on him. The option of declaring his seat vacant should he be finally expelled is equally not feasible. There is a legal precedent (courtesy of Atiku's struggle) that only a court of competent jurisdiction can make such pronouncement. The workable option available is impeachment.

3.If Amaechi has a strong hold on Rivers House of Assembly, then GEJ is messing with himself big time. The end result would just be like NGF election. Despite intimidation, threats and political chicanery, his proxy lost woefully. However, if the ranks of the Assembly Members can be broken via inducement and promise of political portfolio a la 2015 ( a development that can not be totally ruled out), the impeachment ll be fast (not necessarily legal) as seen in many cases before Dariye, Ladoja, Peter Obi.

4.The powers to suspend LG chairman are more vested in the assembly than the Governor. A governor can not remove LG chairman without the approval of the house. A curious twist is the unwillingness of the PDP to sanction other assembly members who supported the decision. Are these honourable members also not PDP members qualified to be sanctioned like Amaechi? They are insulating them largely for a possible future role.

4.Above everything, GEJ is fighting an unnecessary war.In 2015, overall figures may be different but GEJ will win in Rivers State irrespective of who the governor is-Amaechi or Not.

5.His real headache is the North. Why can't he take on Aliyu for instance?

Nice analysis but GEJ dare not touch Aliyu, he touches Aliyu, he touches the north. He wouldn't want to make that mistake, at least not now.
