. . And Rossike, I wouldn't be swallowing all these statistics without lateral evidence from the way Nigerians fare both home and abroad. Infact I would exercise caution gobbling all these statistics. Like Chuba Okadigbo would say, "Statistics is like the bikini. What it reveals is interesting; but it is what it does NOT reveal that is intriguing". ![]() |
Posted by: Rossikk ^^ The UK model, ie the Parliamentary System, was what we practised right after independence, and it led to coups, counter-coups, and civil war, from which we're still recovering. I wouldn't support a return to that system. The Nigerian economy will be worth $5 Trillion in the next 30 years or so.I wasn't really talking about the parliamentary system, though that is not bad either. The fact that it failed in Nigeria was not attributable to its mode of operation. Presidential system could have suffered the same fate in 1966. I was really talking about the British "four country in one" system, where you have England, Scotland, Wales and N, Ireland, all in the same UK. Our political system is unstable, and because of it, Nigeria cannot stand strong in the international arena for fear that foreign countries might cash in on our weakness. You can't be a giant without a SOLID political system. |
The basis of my argument is that a country with SOUND political system stands a far better chance of emerging a giant than one with a chaotic system. That is why Israel remains a giant in the middle east irrespective of her population. She enjoys political stability. If Nigeria adopts the UK model, again IMHO, Nigeria's GDP can zoom from $370 billion to $5 trillion in a very short time. Now, that is a GIANT! ![]() |
^^ By comparison I didn't mean gross, I meant Percentage of a nation's population. If 10 million Nigerians moved into the middle income class -which is 6.25% of Nigeria's population- how many percentage of Ghanaians, SAs, Angolans, Egyptians moved into that same bracket? |
^^ Did you bother to compare that with other countries in Africa talk less of the world, eg, SA, Egypt, Angola and even Ghana? |
Posted by: Negro_Ntns You should not abandon PDP. You currently have voice representation in PDP. Why would you want to dump that?Ordinarily, I won't fault your points, but PDP has been in Igboland since 1999 and with NOTHING to show for it. With the exception of Enugu state governor, all PDP governors in SE have been BAD. And while they were here in Igboland, they rigged APGA out and made sure the party never developed. If they were minding their business, I won't say these. PDP coexisting with APGA has been tough for APGA. They need to go biko. |
Nigeria is not the giant of Africa. I hate it when people keep saying this. What type of a giant is laughed at by other African nations while he is busy acting "big brother"? What type of a giant nation has her citizens always singled out and abused by other nations with absolute impunity? What type of a giant has a passport that is among the most despised in the world? What type of a giant has no say in how she conducts her own international affairs? Today, I watched a beautiful soccer match (European qualifiers) between England and Wales. Both are two "countries" within the United Kingdom. Why can't we have something like that in Nigeria? ![]() I want Biafra to play against Oduduwa or Arewa, all from the Nigerian Union, in the next African nations cup or world cup qualifiers. Only then, IMHO, will Nigeria become a REAL giant; not a perpetual "potential" giant. Nigeria has been "a potential giant" since time immemorial. Folks should start getting tired of all these anachronistic self adulation. ![]() |
His stomach won't fit in. |
Nigeria has the 2nd most extensive road network in Africa after South Africa^^ Now, that is closer to the truth. |
^^ Another coward with a new username |
Posted by: Negro_Ntns Onlytruth,Believe me, my advocating that Igbo dump PDP has VERY LITTLE to do with the politics of 2015. It has more to do with politics of today and NOW. Igbo people say that a chicken that will become a c0ck is known quite young. I don't regret our support for Jonathan in the last election. We had to. (take it or leave it). Having done that, we've set a political trap for our brothers in SS. If they are smart, they will dodge that trap and follow us, else they will have a rough ride alongside the SE in the emerging future of Nigerian politics. The main reason I want Igbo out of PDP is because of Obasanjo. Simple and short. |
^^ Who let kobomental out, whoof woof. ![]() |
Someone said that Nigeria has the most extensive road network in Africa; I fell off my chair rolling on the floor. ![]() Please brothers, THAT IS NOT TRUE. ![]() |
I have to quickly add that as long as Obasanjo remains in PDP and controls things in that party, Ndigbo CAN NEVER find their feet in the scheme of things in PDP. Current PDP is an Obasanjo stratagem for Igbo marginalization in Nigeria. Onye obuna mepee anya ya o! |
I will always support any moves to take Igbo out of PDP. I don't really care which party APGA merges with, provided it leads to a weaker PDP in Igboland and hopefully southern Nigeria. Here I stand. ![]() |
The seven new road projects approved by the council are: the construction of Jalingo-Kuna-Lau road in Taraba(NE); rehabilitation of Ijebu-Igbo-Olomi road in Ogun State(SW) and the rehabilitation of Ondo-Ore road in Ondo State(SW).Why don't the title say something like "FEC Approves New Road Projects in SW, and a few other parts of Nigeria" ![]() I'm not easily deceived o! This Onitsha-Owerri road has survived three presidential terms, and still remain uncompleted. Amakwa m na ndi be anyi na aruru Jonathan olu ma na aghugho ka nku na Nigeria. Onye obuna mepe kwa anya ya o! Unless I'm missing something. |
@ndu_chucks The MOSSAD is coming, run run run. . hehe! ![]() |
Posted by: ndu_chucks I think I hit a soft spot there. I didn't mean to expose ya yansh, ndo o.I know that advanced degree graduates are scarce in almajiriland, but du Allah please learn to cope with us Igbo, ka ji? ![]() We get am pfulenti. |
LOL. More like teacher don't teach me bull5hit. Get da hell outta here. ![]() |
Posted by: JamesG The ranking is conducted after an assessment of living conditions in 140 cities around the world using 30 indicators cutting across the following broad categories: stability, healthcare, culture and environment, education, and infrastructure.Because of the bolded category, Lagos will stay in that rank for a loooooooooong time. haha. |
Posted by: auwal87 One day, a wealthy Nigerian man planned to compare between Nigeria and Sudan, he took a plane bound for Khartoum Airport, on arrival at the airport while waiting for his passport to be stamped for entry, he saw a large box full of money meant for donation, but to his amazement this box was widely open, he called the attention of a security official thinking that they mistakenly left the box open, the security guard told the man, no, this is to enable donors with high denominations of a currency donate some part and pick their change from the box. The man without getting his passport stamped decided that his comparison has ended from there. So he returns to his "Giant of Africa".LOL. More like the giant of thieves and jipiti! Try that in naija and see as the box disappears in broad day light and in full view of all. |
^^ This noblezone just gave a powerful lecture! ![]() I advise every intelligent NL to take a cue. He said it all. |
Hmm, on the surface may seen like diversification of assets, sort of not putting all your eggs in one basket, BUT. I don't want to put some of my eggs in the basket of a chameleon because I may not recognize my eggs tomorrow! Can someone in the house please tell me the REAL value of the Chinese Yuan? ![]() If you don't know that, then, how can you trust it? ![]() |
Posted by: ndu_chucks To find out that a person with a advanced degree routinely lacks the ability to reason objectively and bases his thoughts on juvenile generalizations, is disappointing, to say the least. I always suspected that you suffered from Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), but your confirmation of the ailment's symptoms in your write-up above has confirmed my suspicion.I know you 5h!t your pants when you learned that I have AN ADVANCED DEGREE, stuff your brothers who ran Nigeria into the ground for 50 years lacked. And the fact that it shocked you, reveals the inner workings of your gobbled up Nigerian mindset. Folks with advanced degrees in Nigeria don't have time to care about what THIEVES and MASS MURDERERS like you are up to, ko ba haka ba? Because they are busy pursuing evil lucre. ![]() Your attempt to change the subject as usual using pedestrian and crude tactics fell flat again. Hear this loud and clear: Ordinary Igbo folks like myself can do what all your leaders in the north can only dream of. That is why Nigeria will divide, no matter how many years it takes, and no matter how many international criminal and devilish brotherhoods support its continued existence. God still owns this earth; ka ji ko?! ![]() |
Posted by: nasoeb come for those praying for the division of 9ja into 3. Better you kno that we SS will never wish to join any of the 3, none of the 3 is worthy of having us, so wake up from your dream and stop dragging us unto yourself.@na_so I want to share a little personal thought with you. Today, in the course of my professional duties I ran into a Ghananian (an Ashanti), and we were reviewing a development plan here in the US. In this team, only both of us are blacks -Nigerian/US (me) and Ghanaian/US (he). When he started to make his presentation, for some minutes, I lost concentration and went into deep thoughts. What was I thinking about? Well, he reminded me of another Ghanaian I met in graduate school. There is yet another Ghanaian I worked with some years back. They all behave the same way -VERY HARD WORKING, DISCIPLINED, PEACEFUL and AMBITIOUS. I then remembered how Ghanaians used to dominate strong positions in the Nigerian football league in the 80s and 90s. Even one of my lecturers at UNN was a Ghanaian. When I continued to think of these, it suddenly occurred to me that average Ghanaians are just like typical IGBO folks. We Ndigbo have far more in common with Ghanaians than with some groups within Southern Nigeria and Nigeria as whole! Give me a Ghanaian anyday instead of some of the lazy folks in parts of SS. The only fight Igbo will have over anything in SS is for Igbo territory. Whoever wants to join us has to put in an application which has to be studiously scrutinized before acceptance, because we can't drag alone dead woods! ![]() |
^^ Ok dude! ![]() Believe whatever keeps your joystick hard. Igbo Boko Haram. SMDH. ![]() |
Posted by: noblezone Take it or leave it, ethnicity/religion has everything to do with it. Cheers!Good luck with trying to teach Kobomental the simple ABC of Nigerian politics. A foool at 50 is a fuul for ever. ![]() |
