Let me ask this question again: If Ojukwu whose fellow eastern brothers were almost wiped out in the army stood his ground and even negotiated the most widely acknowledged accord in the history of Nigeria, why did Ogundipe head for SEME border, abi na NNS Nigeria, even when the Yoruba was NOT under any attack? And why did they want to flee the army en masse? |
Cowards and betrayers should not be using the term "character". Both are diametrically opposed. |
British are masters of double speak. How can you have a barbaric culture and still have finesse? Finesse in juju? ![]() lmao! ![]() |
The Yoruba on the other hand had a barbaric custom, personal dignity and political finesse. Maybe it was the barbaric custom that got up the British nose. The traditional way of getting rid of an unpopular Oba was to present him with a parrot's egg. He was then expected to commit suicide. Presumably the Yoruba did not waste parrots' eggs on the British because they knew they would not take the hint.LOL @ barbaric custom. ![]() |
At this stage, I think it is in order to call on Igbo and south east governors to start IMMEDIATE action to check ANY Fulani herdsmen encroachment on Igbo lands. If they don't do that, Igbo youth organizations will organize themselves into action groups or militia to check this. I'm saying this before it becomes too late. Nothing gets addressed in Nigeria. Everything is swept under the carpet until people start dying. Looking at this issue, it has the potential to cause an all out war between the Fulanis and the rest of southern Nigerian groups. Now, that is a fight I am doubly sure the Fulani will lose, and perhaps even lose much more than just cattle and men. A word is enough for the wise. ![]() |
Peter Obi needs to follow suit or else he would lose whatever credibility he has as the Ikemba's protege. |
Posted by: matazzmagi We keep progressing!!!!!!Exactly my brother; we keep progressing, and shall continue to progress. GREAT NEWS! ![]() |
Why is the North killing one another, while the south east is enjoying the longest known peace in Nigeria? Answer: Joel 3:19-21 3:19 Egypt shall be a desolation, and Edom shall be a desolate wilderness, for the violence against the children of Judah, because they have shed innocent blood in their land. 3:20 But Judah shall dwell for ever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation. 3:21 For I will cleanse their blood that I have not cleansed: for the LORD dwelleth in Zion. ![]() |
To recap the story: Press Secretary to the governor, Mr. Mike Udah however denied that governor Obi has a hand in the arrest of MASSOB members in Onitsha Tuesday. He said the Commissioner of Police as the head of federal security agency in the state do not take directly from Governor Obi to arrest any person who has flouted the law. He said if MASSOB members so arrested flouted any law of the land, the Commissioner of Police do not need any permission from the governor before arresting them, and they should not blame their plight on the governor. But Madu insisted that Obi has instructed the Commissioner of Police to arrest MASSOB members who had refused to identify with the task and revenue policies of Obis government because of their Biafra struggle. "That is why they are being hounded. Most of the MASSOB members are Okada riders and they earn a living through Okada riding. Obis action is wicked because he has no Igbo interest but he claimed to be a disciple of Odimegwu Ojukwu. His action on MASSOB does not betray Ojukwus position as Igbo leader", said MASSOB. |
Posted by: Abagworo I have always rooted for Nigeria to remain one and so shall it be.I don't think anyone cared or asked about that? What are you talking about really? @onlytruth and obiagu I say things the way they are.The kind of statement by Anaegboka is not restricted to him alone.I have encountered several of his kinsmen disregarding Ebonyi people and calling them names.Ironically a lot of Anambrarians own businesses in Ebonyi and even dominate the quarry business. The "thank you" from the Governor is intimidating these same Ebonyi people in Anambra. Here you go again with your line of reasoning. ![]() So, you can swear on your life that you have never made derogatory statements about any Igbo group other than your own, or town? ![]() Do you even know how you sound? ![]() So, because Igbo subgroups have names for groups other than their own, they no longer accept that Igbo are one people? ![]() Dude, either you are a paid agent, ('cos frankly that is one of the biggest battles facing Ndigbo- enemy within), or you are an outright efulefu. ![]() I keep telling you that you do not, and CANNOT believe in Nigeria more than myself. My direct towns people have assets ALL OVER Nigeria. I know you know that. The difference between you and I is that I actually THINK about how to survive in it. You on the other hand think that only by kissing the @55 of your perceived "conquerors" can you survive. Carry on. ![]() Obiagu1 rightly said that in the olden days, you'd be sold off into slavery. Nonsense. ![]() THERE IS NO EVIDENCE THAT MASSOB IN ONITSHA ARE FROM ANYWHERE ELSE OTHER THAN ANAMBRA STATE. They may have been joined by members from other states, that is how they operate. |
Posted by: Obiagu1 The bolded is one of the problems. Its members are kind of restricted and they don't like it. Non-violence is not an option, ideally I'll prefer one that has both political and military wings working partly independent of one another. If they had that model, everyone would take them serious. |
Posted by: Obiagu1 It did, when their call for industrial action was adhered to throughout the East. All those sycophant Governors were trying to suppress them but people supported them.I called that a flash in the pan. In such agitation you need sustainability. If you cannot sustain the initial success, you lose whatever you had before then. Believe me, MASSOB is not credible because they are the only group in Africa sworn to non-violence in their struggle for self determination. It never happened anywhere in Africa. Igbo people are very sensible. They know these things. That is why they aren't giving MASSOB needed support and it has been stalling ever since. |
Quote from: Katsumoto Once again, you have your wires crossed. My posts about Ogundipe was in response to OnlyTruth calling him a coward. I was merely defending the record and memory of a soldier. Where did I make derogatory comments about Ironsi? Jumping into the middle or end of a conversation without understanding the context of such a conversation is daft in my opinion.Yea right! ![]() |
Don't mind her. |
I don't think their support ever reached a critical mass though. If it ever did, their struggle would have assumed a more credible dimension. |
Yes I agree. |
Posted by: Ileke-IdI Then I advice someone to give those jobless useless MASSOBs each an ada/obe and maybe a huge farming land.Okay supply dem na! |
Posted by: Obiagu1 ^^^Frankly, I don't know. I refuse to believe that tribalism poll changed him this much. The guy has issues of self confidence. |
Posted by: Abagworo Imagine the rubbish some people are writing.Saying that Onitsha is one of the richest States in Igboland and Abia,Ebonyi and Enugu people are paupers. This is why I keep telling you people that there is nothing like a single Igbo ethnic group.I still wonder where the so-called money is.Why are you always quick to make DUMB statements like the bolded? Can you tell me that you've not heard st00pid statements even from your own townsman? Does it mean you are no longer from your town? You haven't really told the rest of us what has been eating you up these days. ![]() |
Anaegboka goes about making outrageous and dumb statements all over nairaland. I've had to chide him a few times. He is too clueless for an Igbo. ![]() MASSOB members come from ALL the states of the former eastern region. I've read about members from Cross river, Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Delta and all the five south eastern states. No be today. Only a dumb fellow would make Anaegboka's claims. Most top Igbo eilte don't support MASSOB because of their tactics, that doesn't mean that MASSOB is limited to the areas mentioned by Anaegboka. |
In fact I would have encouraged the Biafran research and development to develop a field machine gun by the name Wili Wily. ![]() |
If I was a Biafran soldier and I had a few Wily Wily's with me, I could have stopped the weakling bragging about killing innocent women and children. |
Look at how all those fraudulent cowards are trying their best to convince Wili Wily that Igbo man is his problem. They don't know that Wily Wily has been on this site BEFORE 90% of them. They guy even came here before me. He has followed all the boasting by murderers of innocent women and children in Biafra very closely. So, keep trying to convince him that it was ok to murder his people and kill his hero Ken! You guys are so ridiculous. Long time no see BRO Wily! ![]() |
I take my leave again for lunatic cowards to continue with their conference. ![]() logs off. |
Speaking of courage, consider an individual whose brothers had been almost wiped out of the army in the counter coup of July 1966, and he was left with a residue of his Igbo/eastern brothers in the army. He did not run away, in fact he went ahead to go to Aburi and returned with a deal which could have averted a war if implemented as signed. He even went ahead to fight "everybody" for almost three years when the deal was reneged. Pray, how can anyone with AN ATOM of sanity accuse such of man of cowardice? |
The question then becomes, if the Yoruba soldiers were fearful for their lives, why couldn't they muster any courage to stand with Igbos against the north? Answer: Cowardice |
Concerned for their safety yoruba soldiers sent a delegation consisting of Lt Col Obasanjo, Major Oluleye and Captains Akinfenwa and Ogundeko to the northern region's military governor Lt Col Katsina, to report their fears. Katsina arranged for Major Obasanjo to be smuggled away for his own protection. Some Yoruba officers wanted to desert the army either individually or en masse as part of a self protective yoruba withdrawal. |
It is a well know fact that after northern soldiers had completed the countercoup which led to the death of the supreme commander of the Nigerian army General Aguiyi Ironsi, the next highest ranking officer of the Nigerian army was General Ogundipe. Ojukwu insisted that Ogundipe should replace Ironsi as the next officer in line, but alas, the "general" issued an order which was disregarded by Col Muhammad and his cohorts. Ogundipe fled Nigeria, without even raising a voice. What do you call that? |
Let's assume for once that ONE man ran away like your "general" Ogundipe who fled BEFORE the first shot was fired. What about the THOUSANDS of so called soldiers from your land who almost actually ran away until aboki pointed a gun to their heads. |
I mean the real cowards who almost deserted the army en masse rather than face aboki. Y'know, REAL COWARDS. |
lol, what do we have here? Conference of lunatics and cowards! ![]() ![]() |
ileke-idi The message wasn't a christian message. It is a LIFE PRINCIPLE message. ![]() There is a reason why most Igbos don't commit "alu" or evil acts even before christianity. There is a reason why Igbo would say "Tufiakwa!" Your people have NO BOUNDS on morality. ALL IS FAIR GAME to you. Just get ready for the repercussions. |
