I really believe that there must be something on the ground politically for Ndigbo. I don't see why all the top Igbo leaders should be queuing behind GEJ unless something's up. My hope is that whatever is behind it is something enduring, like creating a solid political base upon which to build the Nigeria of the future. That base should originate in the SE and SS and incorporate middlebelt initially, before branching out to west and north. Something like this picture. .

Posted by: seanet02 @onlytruth, we are only trying to talk some sense into your d.e.a.d. Brain. Next time hausas massacre your gullible people, dont come here and say YORUBA leaders are quiet on an issue that did not concern them.So na only Igbo dem de kill for north? Dem no de kill Yoruba too? Wetin ya people don do? How is MASSOB's business your concern? ![]() What is really eating you about this fake news? |
@seanet02 So why you dey vex na? E concern you? So you like MASSOB like dis? na wa o! ![]() |
The main question is this: Why are posters from western Nigeria more piqued by this "news" than the people concerned (easterners)? Could it be that MASSOB is those people's hope too? hehehe! ![]() |
I dey laugh o! ![]() |
@Chyz, Did you see the pedigree of the APGA guy challenging Ekweremadu? The guy has over 20 years of banking industry experience (at least he has worked for 20 years of his life and understands how tough life is for the average Nigerian worker). I cannot say that about Ekweremadu. |
Posted by: Chyz* If he doesnt keep the deputy senate position and we dont have senate pres, then what?I could care less! ![]() For me the standard for measuring success is that APGA sweeps EVERY position in Igboland. ![]() All these PDP posts we have at the center now are chaffy and have no legs, which is why they are swapped like handkerchiefs. The day APGA grows to a level where we have leaders at the center, such position will not be swapped at the whims of the president or anybody. In the first place, we would have the best from among us representing us, not all these half-baked thieves. |
Posted by: eku_bear Indeed. If you'd had an additional 3-4 years to stockpile weapons and soldiers, you'd have been a lot more successful. In that type of situation, I think the best thing to do is to delay, delay, delay until you are as strong as your opponent.I think it is always about weapons (in case of people who are prepared to fight- like the Igbos and easterners were). It would be unfair to blame Ojukwu because he offered to resign but he was turned down by the Eastern consultative assembly. He knew we were not ready weapon-wise. The circumstance gave him no choice or chance. Damned if he did, hanged if he didn't. Weapons -which are incidental to military locations- always remain the most important thing (all things being equal) in terms of war. That is why I welcome this military base. If it is there, it must be equipped. Bottomline. |
Posted by: Chyz* If Chime decamps, where does that leave Ekweremadu as deputy senate president?I honestly don't think that Ekweremadu's first worry NOW is the senate leadership position. He has to be in the senate first, abi? The guy faces a real prospect of not returning at all. ![]() So, every man to himself! hehehe! ![]() |
Chime's only hope now is to decamp to APGA or he would face the Omehia issue even if he wins. ie assuming APGA would accept him. ![]() |
Posted by: eku_bear @Onlytruth:Of course they would be hosting HEAVY weapons -tanks, mobile artillery pieces and multiple rocket launchers, etc. No be AK-47 full for MEND hand? As for the training, that is where the 60% would come in. They will provide the immediate force until others complete their training. Believe me, if Biafra was heavily armed from DAY ONE, Biafra would have won that war because the first batch of Biafran soldiers were from the top ranks of the Nigerian military, and the first set of volunteers (which usually make the best fighters) died before weapons could get into Biafra. Weapons remain the key. |
And why do I believe that Enechionyia would never accept Ekweremadu's offer? Why accept when he can defeat Ekweremadu at the polls? This Enechionyia dude seems a decent and credible fellow -stuff APGA is made of. ![]() I wouldn't if I were him. ![]() |
Believe me, Enugu state is about to give us the most interesting electoral scenarios, such that will be in news for a long time. There is a quiet earthquake looming in that state, and APGA is waiting to turn the tables. Where is my popcorn! ![]() |
April elections: Enugu’s clash of titans There are indications that contests for elective posts in Enugu State will be endless with the internal crisis in the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party and court cases over primaries, writes OZIOMA UBAKUKOH The Peoples Democratic Party in Enugu State, for several reasons, has been in the news lately. While its members continue in their scheming over one another for the control of the soul of the party, the governorship candidates, Governor Sullivan Chime and Chief Anayo Onwuegbu, are currently saddled with all forms of politicking to ensure that either of them emerges as governor of the state. As the April 2011 governorship election draws near, Chime has kept telling those who care to listen that he and not Onwuegbu is the right candidate of the PDP in Enugu State. Not even Monday’s court order barring the party from fielding him as candidate in the election seems to have deterred him. The argument by the Appeal Court in Abuja that he emerged as governorship candidate from the primary conducted by a dissolved state executive committee of the party is perhaps being treated with kids’ glove. The Director-General of Governor Sullivan Campaign Organisation and Enugu State Commissioner of Education, Dr. Festus Uzor, has described the stories surrounding the court order as ‘rumour’. For Uzor, since the campaign organisation has neither seen nor been served a copy of the order, the whole news could be described as “mere speculation or rumour.” He strike one as a product of the Macbeth school of thought, determined to overthrow or, kill, any ‘King Duncan’ who might be an obstacle to his campaign for the re-emergence of his principal as governor of Enugu State continues. He said, “No-one can stop us. We are not worried because our party has forwarded his name (Chime) and the Independent National Electoral Commission form has been filled and returned. What is happening now is a continuation of the build-up from the political war in the state but we will deal with it properly. We are not disturbed. Our supporters are in top gear to commence the campaign.” But the Onwuegbu campaign team, also known as Omeiheukwu Campaign Organisation, sounds him out. The organisation’s Media Director, Mr. Jeff Mbah, describes Uzor as “He is a doctor who is out to amass the wealth he has never been privileged to attain in all his life, so, why wouldn’t he refer to the court order as a rumour when he would obviously be paid for doing so?” Mbah also said, “We are not worried by what anybody calls it. It is a political strategy, a way of keeping everybody together. We believe in the law. The PDP and INEC should implement the court order.” More intriguing, however, is that political pundits in the state who wouldn’t want their names in print foresee a repeat of the 2007 Rivers State saga – Celestine Omehia versus Rotimi Amaechi. For the pro-Chime among them, they ascribe to the fact that the primaries that purportedly ushered Onwuegbu as the party’s candidate was conducted on January 17, 2011, two days after INEC’s stipulated time for primaries. In other words, his candidature is an illegality. For the pro-Onwuegbu group, Chime is a product of a primary conducted by a dissolved state executive committee, thus his candidature is null and void. Moreover, INEC and the PDP have stated at several occasions that it would deal with the Okechukwu Ogbonna-led executive committee that emerged on December 31, 2010, and not the ousted Vita Abba committee. Thus, they argue that if the PDP and INEC ignore the order of the court and field Chime and he is sworn in as governor, then it would only take months before a higher court sacks him on the basis of wrongful substitution of candidate. But what most keen observers may not know is that the Enugu-West senatorial seat is as hot, even hotter, than the governorship battle in the state. The zone is known for business, politics and other sources of human endeavour that Igbo pride themselves with. It is from this zone that the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekeremadu emerged. The zone has also produced Mr. Ndubuisi Enechionyia, the All Progressives Grand Alliance senatorial candidate, who is said to have over 20 years experience in the banking industry. What indeed makes Enugu-West peculiar is that indications point to the fact that Chime would either swim or sink with the senator representing the zone, Ekweremadu. This is on account of widespread allegations that the duo, sensing what befell them, had since gone into negotiations with APGA. Some people are saying that Enechionyia may step down for him. But many indigenes of Enugu-West believe that if the poll is free and fair, Enechionyia will win. They also argue that he has groundswell integrity and has done well for himself and his people. To them, he never erred while he served in the private sector and is more of a grassroots person. So the question is, “Could Chime and Ekweremadu be heading for APGA? If it favours Chime, what about Ekweremadu, who is bent on securing the party’s ticket to the zone.” Of course who wouldn’t crave for endless tenures to the National Assembly for a district that presents an interesting scenario, probably because it is the cosmopolitan senatorial zone in Enugu State with (impressive) population over other zones of Enugu, North and East senatorial districts? There is no doubt therefore that any man or woman that emerges as leader of the zone would – have emerged through the eye of a needle, thoroughly screened and posses the needed attributes of a unity candidate before he is given a pass mark. Although the Chairman of APGA in Enugu State, Chief Okechukwu Nkoloagu, has repeatedly denied the ‘deal’ with the governor, he did not deny that of the deputy senate president. A few weeks ago, he said “Ekweremadu has asked me for negotiations with Enechionyia. He wants me to prevail on him not to run, but I don’t know how to go about that.” And for Enechionyia, “My party has a governorship candidate. He has gone round the state and I believe he would win. I also know that we have two weeks to the final substitution of candidates. Their (Enugu PDP) is still in court. Fortunately for us, we are running and we have a vibrant campaign.” http://www.punchng.com/Articl.aspx?theartic=Art2011020323131 |
Posted by: eku_bear What do you mean by weapons 100% local? They are typically stored on site anyway, right?Yes, weapons are 100% local (stored on site). The 40% I allocated to "the rest of Nigeria" is not useful to that "rest of Nigeria" in terms of war. Remember that they have to be shared into the different bits and pieces group that make up naija. What you really need is the weapons. There is always enough manpower to draw from locally when you need to. |
Posted by: eku_bear Yep, if you find something like that, post it.C'mon now! No be like dat na. ![]() But something close ->say 60% local catchment area, 40% other Nigerians, but weapons ->100% local. Leaders are very sneaky 'y'know. They are not really like the rest of us. |
hehehe! I'm yet to see anything funnier. ![]() |
Naija press no go kill pesin one day. ![]()

Poster 's a goat. He cannot see the benefit of having a military installation in his own backyard. ![]() Why didn't Obasanjo or Yar adua site this new military facility inspite of all the MEND and MASSOB troubles in their times? ![]() Why is it two easterners now doing it? I can't lend you a brain. If Biafra had equal military locations then, do you think we would have lost that easily? |
Posted by: EzeUche_ This backwards Ekiti woman has a lot of a nerve. Even Yorubas make fun of her bush state. The real meaning of Ekiti is bullsh!t hill or cow dung hill. Ask her. No wonder she's full of it. |
Posted by: EzeUche_ Kidnapping whole families and not asking for ransom. Something is definitely not right about this situation.Believe me, I have genuine fear for that family because they were not kidnapped in the east; at least in the east, we know they would ask for ransome. In the west (Ondo to Edo) they would need their parts for gbomo gbomo. That is my fear. ![]() |
Posted by: EzeUche_ Your words ring true. Having more military infrastructure in the East maybe a blessing in disguise. The more weapons, the merrier. COAS needs to recruit heavily from the East. It is time for us to replenish our numbers in the military like they were in the 60s.If anybody wants to balance military locations, how else would they accomplish it if not this way? ![]() It is common knowledge that the north hosts more military locations, which is why it sees itself as the lord of Nigeria. In my book, military locations = real power. If you want to increase eastern soldiers in the army, why recruit them and then ship them to northern region where they are sat upon by northerners, or even schemed out of the army like Danbazzau was doing? If the base is there, it would be easy to equip it if kasala burst. If it is not there, you have no real power. |
The missing family are suspected to have been abducted somewhere near Otu Costain – a border town between Ondo and Edo States – based on the record on the map of the tracking device attached to the car they were travelling in.I just hope they've not dissected them already for gbomo gbomo! SMDH! Sad, truly sad. ![]() |
Posted by: ~Bluetooth They were safe in the south west only to be kidnapped on entering iboland.is that what you called tribalism ?So between Ondo and Edo state is Igboland, abi? How st00pid can you ever get? ![]() Chei! |
lol, this poster's idiocy know no bounds. ![]() Since when did Nigerian army become Northern army? Or is it "Northern army" only when stationed in Igboland? What about the 2 mechanized division in Ibadan? Is that a Yoruba army? lmao. I would boldly speculate that since the current head of state and the COAS are both easterners, they are probably trying to de-marginalize the east in terms of military locations. I would even speculate that they may site more of such in the coming years (all things being equal). There is a need for sectional balance of instruments of terror (military facilities) in Nigeria. If such balance exists, no section would think itself God. |
^^^ Who cares what you think? ![]() |
Posted by: ShangoThor The Northern States that adopted Sharia would be better served to combine forces and form a new Nation State,"you can't have your cake and eat it too".Actually, this is the ONLYTRUTH of this thread. Thanks ShangoThor ! |
