solomon111: we need to develop our own technology. Not just about wasting money, but about building local technological capacity to defend the country against external threats. Nigeria being the leader of Africa should be aggressively innovative in defense industry. The only weapon I can really trust to defend Nigeria with is one MADE IN NIGERIA. ![]() |
sleekdot: Agreements have to be in some forms, written or verbal. Thanks for the bolded. ![]() |
The schools are benefiting more from Obi's leadership, and that is good too. The schools are in fact the major beneficiaries of Obi's governorship, and like I said, that is good too. We still need to build world class roads that stand the test of time. |
asha 80: governing goes beyod building oif road.it is a holistic approach.me thinks anambra has gone beyod celebrating of construction of roads only.I beg to disagree because Anambra (and much of Nigeria) remain inaccessible, or poorly accessible. What is the point of building a poor quality road that will be inaccessible within a year or two, just because you are trying to "cover all sectors"? Ngige could have moved onto other sectors if he stayed for 8 years (after building quality roads that is), and his roads would still be there (they still are!) to support his moving onto other sectors. I doubt that Ngige would have stayed on roads alone. If Ngige returns to office, I suspect he may be forced to redo some of the roads Obi built. |
Prof Corruption: Of course, it has always been senseless. You read the same nonsense with caption " SW betrays the South" but where is the pact between SW and the so called South? In another instance, you read "Awo betrayed Igbo" but where is the agreement?Sometimes agreements can be verbal or even nuanced. I don't know why an educated man like you would turn logic and communication protocol on its head just to support a windy point. NOT ALL AGREEMENTS ARE WRITTEN, and you know it. |
Dem don come again. |
asha 80: somehow i wish ngige wins....let me see if he is really worth the hype...already he is listed as one of the 35 senators that has been docile(never raised any motion or bill) in the senate.I share your sentiment here, though I must admit that I am a secret admirer of Onwa Anambra state. Ever since I saw the quality of roads he built in Idemili, Nnewi and other parts of Anambra state, all I can think of is that if any other governor did the same, Anambra will have a first world road standard within two full gubernatorial terms of 8 years each. Now, whether he can repeat that feat remains to be seen, ie if he wins. My candidate remains Soludo because he understands what Obi tried to do and will continue that path with BIGGER ambition. |
IMHO this is exactly why the North must not rule Nigeria for the next 20 -50 years. Fact remains that they will simply keep the country stagnant. There is Boko Haram whose main goal is to stop EVERYONE -not just girls- from going to school. Northern governors should educate their people first before eying Nigeria's seat of power. |
asha 80: not sure what you mean by obaze cannot survive the heat of anambra politics.that he looks calm might be deceptive.not everyone has to display gra gra to show he is a man.obi even looks calmer than him but i wonder if you will really tag obi as soft and not skillful at keeping the 'wolves' at bay.I guess all I'm saying is that there will be the following in this race: Ngige, Soludo (unless he is not contesting again), Andy Uba, and Ifeanyi Uba,... then there is Obaze (presumably backed by Obi). On the elections day, the likely front runners WILL BE Ngige and then others will share votes. By default, even if Obaze manages to get more votes than the Ifeanyi Ubas (people keep underating this guy somehow and I hate for him to surprise them and even come close to Anambra coffers), the Andy Ubas, and the Soludos, he will not get more votes than Ngige; that much I know. But if Obi supports Soludo, Ifeanyi Uba will be in REAL trouble, and APGA stands a real chance of winning. That is really what I mean. |
Yoruba have ways of "correcting" themselves at the dying minutes of every major decision. It is the way they survive. We call it betrayal; they call it "sophistication". All I know is that the same tendency will make them vote massively for GEJ come 2015. I can bet anyone that Yoruba cannot trust the North with Nigeria's future, especially after this child marriage issue. |
asha 80: well if you say so.one thing i know is that is victor umeh has a brain he should know that apga cannot win that election unless the apga candidate has obi's support.I believe he knows, that is why he is calling for reconciliation with the Obi camp. IMHO the only person that can win Anambra guber elections without obi's support is Ngige, and that is because the votes for others will be splintered and shared, while Ngige's would remain because he has a near cult following among his die hard supporters. Somehow I don't think Obi can trust Ngige with Anambra coffers. Soludo remains the only viable choice. The Obaze guy cannot survive the heat of Anambra "hard hat politics". Our guber seat is not for the faint of heart, and certainly not zoned! ![]() |
Bro Adejoro74, I swear one of those guys grinning from ear to ear over "palmie" is you. ![]() Thanks for a great thread. |
asha 80: it is either soludo wants to enter apga(which i doubt) or he is just being honest.maybe nairalanders who hate obi and are rooting for soludo would think deep about what soludo said.@Bolded, nwanne never say never in politics. Obi might be realizing that Soludo is the only credible successor he can conscientiously hand over to, so he may be courting the genius ex-CBN boss to join APGA. I have learned to read political speak very well. By Soludo urging Obi to remain in the poltical scene, is his way of assuring Obi that he would look after him (and his foibles while in office) when he takes over. Soludo is the only credible contender to succeed Obi (if I know Obi well). |
If this is true then I am REALLY IMPRESSED and I wish the NAF more of these types of technological innovations. I just love how the robot looks SOLID and ready to go for some action. My fear is that this may not be true... |
LMAO @ "Predator" ... ![]() |
Ogbonaikenna: Onlytruth, i've lost the respect i used to have for you due to your rubbish one nigeria stand. I think you are another zik in our mist and needs to be caged. You are a disgrace to the eze ndigbo seat.Nwanne ihe nwata huru wee n'eti mkpu, okenye huru ihe ahu ma suo ude gba nkiti. Some of our people have not really sat down to look at CURRENT Nigeria and where things stand today. Our brother kettykin captured it well. The whole truth is that Nigeria derailed after 1966. Nigeria pre-Jan 1966 was great and growing to greatness. I believe that we are back to that era again. The great Shaka Zulu said that "if the leopard is offered wings, he would be a fool to reject them". Umu Igbo are the leopards of Africa, and Nigeria is our wings. It is well my brother. ![]() |
abu12: Yea @bold that is more reason we want to kick the clueless one out and let see if biafra will be actualised, we pray you guys use this opportunity now if You don't want to repeat 1967.Me sef dey eye INTEGRATION of West Africa into one nation. ![]() Nigerian states should be disintegrated, and LGAs should become the next level of government, while Nigeria should because a West African state; i.e a state inside the West African Federation. ![]() |
Rhino.5dm:hehe @bolded. Look, I believe that PATIENCE is the key in Nigeria. I honestly don't care where the next president comes from, but he/she MUST NOT keep us standing still. He must move us forward, else trouble dey. Whether you accept it or not, we are actually moving forward in Nigeria. FACT. Jona is not without faults, but at least he allows us to practice democracy and stay out of state elections making it possible for opposition to win some states, thereby allowing competition in development. To me that is an achievement. Even baba Iyabo moved Nigeria forward by prioritizing expenditure like paying off our debts, instead of sponsoring some state sponsored pilgrimage and other jamboree. So, to me we are moving forward slowly. What I would hate is someone coming to drag us back again. Thats all. |
abu12: Walahi most ibo people will denied their people, they will prefer to be slave in the north and south west, many won't go back. They are a*sslicka many will betrayed -nsincere9geriaYou people keep forgetting that Igbo remains the ONLY major nation in Nigeria that fought a civil war to leave. That urge has not died at all. GEJ is helping to keep Igbo hearts in Nigeria. FACT. |
Rhino.5dm: The truth is that Nigeria is the greatest country on the African continent. Really she is! I can see Nigeria doing great things for Africans and Africa. Without Nigeria, Africa is lost. Our problem as Africans is HUGE and need a BIG African country to solve. As for your last sentence, have you EVER seen a burger flipper with my class and choice of written English? ![]() |
Effwazobia: Nwanne, I really hope that it doesn't weather the storm. It's about that time we fracture this entity. It ain't working. Marginalization plentyNwanne I understand everything you said, honestly. It just that I know that Nigeria can be a world power if calm heads rule. Nigeria has made HUGE progress since 1999, and it has been because Nigeria's presidency has stayed in the hands of southerners. My greatest fear in Nigeria is STAGNATION that comes with each Northern rule. Under Northern rule Nigeria has never moved an inch forward. Just see the number of roads and other infrastructure springing up all over the south in Nigeria, while northern governors are busy marrying 13 year old girls and scheming to get power back in 2015. My honest belief is that what will disintegrate Nigeria is stagnation and retrogression caused by Northern rule. Nothing else will. |
kingoflag: Ah, oga onlylies the deposed eze of NL u still dey alive? U never die yet? I thought by now ur hate would've sent u to the hereafter. How come u been missing in action? We're u in exile? Cabbie biz no pay enough for Internet bills? Anyhow sha, welcome back u unbridled hate and ignorance has been sorely missed.I took a break from oafs and louts like you. Nairaland was beginning to degrade my IQ, so I left. I can still leave again tomorrow. I really hope you would preach to yourself and your brothers who are teaching Nigerians a new paradigm of hate because of GEJ. I pity the poor dude. |
Rhino.5dm:The Biafrans you know today is really not the same as those of 1967. Omo na my rottweiler go collect ya nyash if you near my VGC property. If you somehow survive that, you meet my carbine. Somehow I don't think it would ever get to that though. Yes I believe Nigeria will weather any storm. It is viable. ![]() |
abu12: Abandoned propertiesWhy una dey fear Jona so much sef? heh? The man na good man. I love naija sha, but I will take Biafra too. Happily. ![]() |
Rhino.5dm:You advise me to make up my mind while you are confused about your own leader? lmao. At least my choice is better than yours: I get to choose between a potentially viable country (Nigeria) and an quintessential successful country (Biafra); while you choose between the devil and satan. LMAO. haha. |
Rhino.5dm:I love Nigeria, though I love Biafra too. So I won't mind Jona being our first presido. ![]() So, Tinubu go be ya first presido? lmao. |
