~Bluetooth:Ndigbo are progressives in Nigerian politics. We voted (most Igbo and myself) voted for Falae. PDP rigged the polls (the outgoing military did) and handed over to Obasanjo. Either way, a Yoruba would have won. That is the bottomline. Today Obasanjo is stabbing everyone at the back. |
sjeezy8:I've told you that you talk like a kid. Zik was the President and commander in chief of the armed forces of the federal republic of Nigeria. Balewa was only the head of government. Zik was the head of state. He could fire the prime minister and call for new elections. ![]() Who is more powerful then? As for Arthur Nzeribe, a lot of folks don't know that he stopped Abiola and why. Arthur stopped Abiola because when Abiola was campaigning, Arthur approached him to make demands on behalf of the east (that time Arthur still had CARIA -cross river, akwa ibom, rivers, imo and anambra state movement). Abiola said he was going to give the position of secretary to the federal government to the east. Arthur asked him "so the best you can do for us is to make us your tea-maker, eh?" That was it! He approached IBB and told him he had a plan to nullify the polls. IBB didn't follow through that plan, else there would never have been an Abacha presidency. The rest is history. We have people in Igboland who can do a lot to stop Nigeria from moving forward. That is why no one can push us over. 2015 is our year. |
sjeezy8:What are you smoking? In 1960 it was ZIK of AFRICA vs the rest! ![]() In 1979 it was Zik, Shagari and Awo. In 1993, it was Abiola vs Tofa, and Arthur Nzeribe! ![]() In 1999, ALL NIGERIANS ceded presidency (out of benevolence) to the Yoruba. (you conveniently left that out )In 2003, it was Obasanjo who stole the elections(through incumbency) - Buhari won. ![]() BTW, 2003 will NEVER happen again. Pray that we let you rule again in Nigeria because you betrayed a sacred trust. |
~Bluetooth:OBJ and Olu falae (both Yorubas) contested in 1999. Ndigbo voted more for Falae than OBJ (though PDP rigged it). Bottomline is that if the Igbo and other Nigerians rejected the zoning of presidency to the Yoruba, heavens would not have fallen. The Yoruba couldn't do sh!!t about it. Frankly I respected Nigeria a little for that gesture then. Well, what is OBJ doing since then, trying his darnedest to sabotage zoning and manipulating the polity to remain relevant. Pure betrayal of the same system that empowered him. So, yes, ALL NIGERIANS agreed to cede presidency to Yoruba in 1999. Only one Igbo man called Arthur Nzeribe stopped Abiola. Do you think Ndigbo couldn't stop power shift to the Yoruba in 1999? Some northerners are still angry that Yoruba tasted power in 1999. They are waiting for an opportunity to pay you guys back. All I know (and I suspect most educated and intelligent Nigerians know too) is that Nigeria has no future without an Igbo man enjoying his own 8 years at the helm. We are fixed on 2015. |
~Bluetooth:There was never a time the Yoruba was at par with Hausa in Nigerian politics. Not my cup of tea though. My message to your brother sjeezy8, which you alluded to here is that the Yoruba would NEVER have produced a Nigerian president if ALL NIGERIANS did not cede the 1999 polls to the Yoruba. The same will happen again for the Igbo or it can also happen through zoning. The Yoruba is not more important than the Igbo in Nigeria. If you doubt that, wait until the day Ndigbo pull out of Nigeria and see who would be left. |
sjeezy8:Frankly dude, I don't know who you think you are kidding. ![]() Do you think a Yoruba would have ever ruled Nigeria if not that ALL NIGERIANS agreed to cede the 1999 polls to the Yoruba? Do you think a Yoruba candidate can win elections in Nigeria without zoning? How can you forget things so soon. What do you think stopped Abiola? Frankly dude I think you are really a KID. Nigeria is what it is. Zoning is there for a purpose. The Yoruba won't rule Nigeria for at least 32 years. Learn to live with it. |
excanny:I couldn't have put it more aptly. These people (specifically sjeezy8 ) can't understand such simple things as upholding agreements. Check the history of this country and you would see who has been reneging on agreements from 1950 to date. Obasanjo is currently championing the quest to trash the ruling party's agreement, after he had enjoyed it for 8 years. Same people would try their best to make this a south east vs south south issue. Not that we care anymore , because everybody else have been betraying the Igbo from 1950 to the civil war, till date. All it takes for a northerner to make Yoruba turn against Jonathan at the polls, is to pick a VP from south west. They would likely vote massively for that Yoruba candidate. As for the Igbo, I really think we should not go back on our culture of abiding by agreements. Not that the north is worth the sacrifice, but the international community is watching. A day will come when Nigeria will be discussed at the UN level. Then our case will be easier. This is important. We must not join the band of betrayers. We must not! |
excanny:Don't mind that guy. Anytime he rolls out that his ridiculous list of possible candidates for 2015, I wonder which country he is talking about. Is it the same country that risk disintegration in 2015? None of those candidates can keep Nigeria together if Ndigbo feel cheated out of their right to produce the president. The other point is that there is an ongoing negotiation among ACN, APGA and a long list of others. If that alliance talk succeeds in merging even only ACN and APGA, a very popular presidential candidate representing the alliance could actually win the polls next year. In my book, next year is still verrrrrrrrrrrry far! ![]() Like I've always said, there is no way of knowing who the Yoruba will vote for until all the candidates are known. Same applies to the Igbo. But, you can be rest assured that the Yoruba will vote for any Yoruba on a ticket, even if only as VP. History shows that they never voted for any non-Yoruba when there is a Yoruba on a ticket. All these information is necessary because we might actually have a free and fair elections next year. I believe that in such a scenario, PDP is being unduly lionized. We are giving them more power than they actually have. In the Anambra guber polls, they came a distant THIRD. |
Ibime:No I thought Abam is the Ohafia. Could be wrong though. |
Ibime:You see the European connection? ![]() Last time I checked, there was NO African name like that except slaves or whites. Ibime, una people came with Oyibo. QED. ![]() |
Ibime:I'm sure they were raiding their Igbo neighbors like the Ikwerre and Ngwa. They never made it up river Niger. Nobody raided Nnewi (Anaedo) from outside and got away with it. We had a very organized heredity based kingdom dating back to 17th kings. The British only met two Nnewi kings -Igwe Orizu II (Eze ugbo nya mba) and Igwe Orizu III (the current Igwe).
|
C'mon Ibime, its no big deal really. Everybody sold slaves in the east that time. I'm only trying to understand the "war canoe". My Nnewi people sold social deviants and miscreants. We didn't have jails or capital punishment then. So, we simply sold dangerous criminals. We used to banish them from our land when they were convicted. However, when the white man showed up with slavery, we found a symbiotic relationship. We made profits from offloading our criminals. ![]() We've always been ingenious businessmen. ![]() |
Ibime:You swear say your people no raid slave? You fit swear am? That "war canoe" is a slave ship I swear. |
^^^ And if you throw in the cowboy hats, it suddenly starts to make sense! Chineke me! Ibime! |
Ibime:Hmm. . Ibime, I'm beginning to believe this story that you guys came with the Europeans. Which one be "war canoe" again? ![]() No be oyiba man come with war |
Dis Guy:You should have noticed why they are doing it in the first place. Imo state built an airport without ANY federal government support. Meanwhile Imo state is far more viable than Taraba state, but Taraba has ALREADY attracted federal government interest. That is why Nigeria needs to be renegotiated/restructured. The injustice is unsustainable. |
EzeUche22:I literally fell off my chair and was rolling with laughter! lmao! ![]() C'mon now bro Ezeuche, you couldn't hate the Ijo that much! ![]() This term "canoe people" is killing me. |
Beaf:The south east governors said they're waiting until all candidates have declared before deciding who to support. I'll tow same line. A lot can still happen. I can only say that if Jonathan wins the PDP primaries, it'll be hard for Ndigbo not to support him. |
sjeezy8:He should win first. I've learned never to underestimate Nigerians. There could be a coup tomorrow. Nigeria is unpredictable. That is why he should develop balls fast. He looks more and more like Shagari. Nigeria is sitting on many big issues that needs to be addressed, fast. He should show leadership by speaking on one. He still has months in office and can still do a lot before May next year. For as long as he continues to look clueless, he won't command confidence. |
sjeezy8:You cannot say that yet. Lets just wait! The south west is sneaky in politics. We can't know where they stand until AFTER the elections. |
Beaf:South east may still support Jonathan. I can't see them voting for a northerner over Jonathan. Its just the way it is, fortunately or unfortunately. ![]() Some of us even think he is from Onitsha! It is well. Let him develop balls fast. |
^^ this boy escaped to nairaland before but has been successfully recaptured. ![]() |
To indulge him a little. . I strongly suspect this story is about bk.babe. Boy shoots step mum with dane gun From Kolade Larewaju and Gbenga Akinwunmi ABEOKUTA- THE Ogun State Police Command, Monday, said that it had been able to arrest 1,664 suspects in the last eight month, just as a 12-year-old boy, Mayowa Abegunrin who allegedly killed his step mother with a dane gun belonging to his grand father, was paraded alongside nine other suspects. Parading the suspects at the command headquarters in Abeokuta, the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Musa Daura, also paraded two Chinese nationals, Mr. Long Chen and Yianhui Gong who were kidnapped while returning from a meeting from Lagos state. were working at the Free Trade Zone in Igbesa Ogun and were reported to have been traced by the suspected kidnappers before they were eventually nabbed at Igbesa. Daura said the murder incident took place in Amusan Sapotu, Odeda Local Government area, while other criminal cases spread across the state. The grand father of the minor, Mr. Moses Abegunrin, 65, explained that he was at the market before he was informed that the boy had used the Gun, which was inherited from the fore fathers to murder his step mother who was on a visitation to the village. While the boy could not speak to journalists as he was weeping uncontrollably, Abegunrin said, “The boy was asked by the step mother, Modinat Abegunrin, to go and fetch knife and join them in pealing cassava but the boy refused. Witnesses told me that it was in the process that the woman beat him.so he went inside to take the gun which I had filled with bullets over two years because I a,m a farmer. “He is my grand son, his father is an electrician, based in Lagos. He is in the village to leave with me because his own mother has divorced my son. But the police should free me because of the old age I am not the one who killed Modinat.” Daura noted that the command recorded no fewer than 12 cult cases and 173 robbery cases adding that over 5,000 life ammunitions were recovered between January and August. “Our achievement in this command is the rescue of the two Chinese nationals, it is not for us alone but for Nigeria. We were alerted and before the suspected kidnappers had not started negotiating the ransom before we stormed the place and we were successful to have rescued them. “We have recorded six cases of kidnapping in this state while 57 murder cases have been recorded. This command has been able arrest over 170 armed robbers and recovered 154 vehicles in Ogun State.” http://www.vanguardngr.com/2010/08/23/boy-shots-step-mum-with-dane-gun/ |

sjeezy8:All mathematical junk as we may not even have a country in the first place after that. ![]() You think anyone is deceived by all these nonsensical permutations? Keep dreaming. There was a civil war that is yet to end. |
@chyz Thanks for all the videos. You make my day here. ![]() |
chyz:He wasn't even the Yoruba's problem. The man made a mistake and has since corrected it by ensuring that a Yoruba rule Nigeria for 8 more years. Abacha was the Yoruba's enemy. The man is dead. |
sjeezy8:What are others saying about how to solve Nigeria's problems? Please educate me. ![]() |
Beaf:Believe me, payback is the last of our worries. We want our dues in Nigeria, and will not cede that right to anybody. The so called maradona cared about south east more than other presidents Nigeria ever had. We felt his impact. Even now, only he talks about resource control, state police and balancing the federation. Others are hiding. ![]() A chicken cannot turn into an eagle overnight. ![]() Ndigbo cannot be intimidated by anybody. Nigeria does not want our trouble, believe me. 2015 is ours. Bottomline. |
sjeezy8:You and I know that there was no "south" at independence in 1960. All these talks about power rotating between north and south is cheating. It is a way the north maneuvers the south. Ohanaeze Ndigbo have never accepted that zoning along north-south axis. So let's stop the nonsense. Do they want one Nigeria or not? That is the question. |
And as some Yorubas are here castigation Igbos for thinking about supporting IBB, the man is busy making hay in the heartland of the same people (Ogun state) . What type of a country is this? Why not go and chase the man out of YOUR own land instead of trying to chase him away from Igboland? Duplicity from these folks knows no bounds. ![]() |
