PointB: Frankly Eze, the answer is that we are still waiting for dividend of having Okonjo Iweala, Pius Ayim, and the two national assembly deputies. I don't even know if they exist or not.Everything you said it spot on! For me, 6 months MAX. ![]() |

Dede1: When I talk about Republic of Igbo land in the light of disintegration of Nigeria, whether peaceful or bloody, I meant every word of the statement. Nigeria has and will continue to use certain elements in Nigeria against Ndigbo. I am for anything that will lead to dismemberment of Nigeria. I tend to feign novice when Ndigbo talk about Onicha riverport, second River Niger Bridge at Onicha/Asaba and Enugu International airport. When I look at the environmental and structural condition of Igwe Ocha (Port Harcourt) international airport and number of international flights allowed into it, I conclude that the case of eastern region of Nigeria is more diabolical than people tend to perceive.Bros Dede1, Ndigbo si na "nti amara ama eji ya anu ihe, soso oji ka agaghi akpanye ya" -(a cut off ear can still hear, only that you cannot use it to hold colanut. Actually, this is a Nnewi proverb, and the interpretation may vary from one clan of Igbo to another). It basically means that I have already heard and acknowledged your point about us forming a Republic of Igboland, instead of Biafra. Nwanne, if we cannot even look the Nigerian devils in the eyes and tell them to give us our share of federal projects, how can we look international players in the eyes? I personally believe that if Ndigbo cannot defeat Nigerian internal marginalization, that we will not survive international marginalization (oh it is out there!). We must first rein in our people who claim to be representing us and hold them to account. If they cannot give us a satisfactory account, we must run them out of town, one way or another. ![]() The youths of Igboland are traditionally the enforcers of our mores. |
achi4u: i said it before i will repeat saying it that untill we the youth of this present generation fight for our future there will be no headway, poverty and sqaulor will keep knocking on doorsteps.Too bad.My brother you are right. The first step towards emancipation is to defeat fear and see it for what it is - something that can be defeated. Anybody who is serious about emancipation MUST first conquer fear. Obi okorobia ka eji aba ogaranya ( a youthful heart is necessary to defeat poverty). |
Ileke-IdI:You have desperately sought for my attention these past few weeks and I wouldn't give it. So you have resorted to lashing out on me and throwing things hoping that something sticks. lol If you don't have anything sensible to contribute here, please move along. I ain't gat time for no groupie. ![]() |
Chyz*:If the bolded is what they are actually thinking, then they must be really stoopid, because I'm not even sure that any sane Igbo would support Jonathan by the end of next year, talkless of 2015. lol The days of using the same projects to woo Igbo votes ended with Obasanjo, honestly. We voted Jonathan mainly because he is from the East, but if his government would marginalize us the most, then we would not even think before throwing him and his clonies under the bus WAYYYYYYY before 2015. ![]() |
I'll be back later. ![]() |
This question has bugged my mind for weeks and months now. It has got to the stage that I cannot sleep well at nights while pondering this question. I remember vividly how we lobbied (at least added our voices) to the appointment of Anyim Pius Anyim to the position of Secretary to the Federal Government. There are such other Igbo personalities now as Dr Ngozi Okonjo Iweala and others. I would not be exaggerating if I say that we hold strategic positions in this government. Why is Enugu International Airport "upgrade" looking like a glorified hen house project? Why didn't the Federal Government include Enugu as one of the international airports to be concessioned alongside Lagos, Abuja, Kano and Port Harcourt? Is it that Igbo heartlands must continue to be denied international access or something more sinister? These PDP Igbo Federal officials should tell us what projects (any project at all) they have attracted to the SE. They are there because we voted for Jonathan. As for Jonathan, unless he is not going to need Igbo votes again, he should take this personally. This continued marginalization of Igboland, even with Igbo sons/daughters in strategic Federal positions should give us reason and pause for thorough introspection. I hate PDP (not that APGA has impressed me too much but it is still better than PDP in defending Igbo interests in Nigeria) for this reason. If any Igbo thinks that I'm wrong for hating PDP, he should come here and put forward a contrary view; let the readers decide. It is not enough that your local PDP governor may be working. It is time we start thinking COLLECTIVELY for our survival in Nigeria. If we cannot survive in Nigeria by confronting the local challenges, how can we survive out of Nigeria by confronting international challenges? So, let's answer this question honestly. Here I stand. Signed, Onlytruth, ndu di n'eziokwu 1 of Igboland, Eze Ndigbo Nairaland. ![]() |
jason123: PROUD-IGBO, thanks for the pics. Saw it yesternight when it was uploaded and decided not to comment but on waking up and seeing this again, I'll have to say its disheartening. My friend if you want to say the truth, say all of it; don't say half truths. ![]() What do you mean by the bolded? You mean you have taken survey of all fliers using Lagos and Abuja international airports and found that they never terminate in SE? All these half hearted truths (which are really lies) cannot help you. We need our airports, and we will get them. |
mens dept: The whole upgrading of Ibiam Airport in Enugu was just a bunch of BULLSHyt. Obansanjo promised this airport in his 1st and 2nd term, then Yar I Die in Arabia the same thing, and now Goodluck with the usual official policy of nothing Federal going to the East.Yes I agree, but not for the reasons you give. I agree that we Ndigbo should take our destiny into our hands. We need ACTIVIST governors, not all these so called "matured" (read led by the nose by the FG) kind of governors. In fact I'm beginning to develop a hypothesis, and it is that the closer a SE governor is to the president and FG, the greater his inclination to throw Igbo interests under the bus. If this continues, I would lead a strong campaign to ensure that no Igbo is ever elected Nigerian president, because it may even be better that others are marginalizing us than some iddiot "brother". ![]() |
afam4eva: @mensdeptMy brother I have since stopped thinking like the first bolded on any projects in SE. Igboland is NOT part of Nigeria, hence there is nothing like "federal government project" in SE. FACT. It is all our self help efforts; nothing more. The Nigerians keep telling us in any way they can but we have refused to listen. The PDP is a party of thieves designed from the blueprint of Nigeria (and every injustice embedded in it). The day we will kick PDP out of Igboland is the day our liberation will begin. All PDP chieftains sent to represent us at the center are selfish thieves. God will punish all of them. WE HAVE TO TAKE OUR DESTINY INTO OUR OWN HANDS. ![]() |

It cannot possibly be right. |
First off, I have to thank whoever conceived this idea and whoever completed it. Though I would hate for the damn craft to be used to stop anyone who may still want to secede from Nigeria, I still love the idea that a military hardware (no matter how simple, unsophisticated, and "ordinary" it looks)was designed and developed locally; I am always for local content in military hardware for ALL African states. Having said that, I still noticed the usual Nigerian way of doing things -Navy engineers design Navy ship (abi na flying boat as someone said, lol ). Why not these engineers set up a local company (after they leave the navy) that researches and develops naval defense systems, that way more gifted civilian individuals who may not be navy personnel at all, can come in to really design something that can really scare someone, supply the local navy and export some for foreign exchange? In doing so, you kill five birds with one stone : create a sustainable local weapons development (private sector driven)program, create jobs, attract "civilian" talent, equip local navy with superior assets designed for it alone, and finally export some to earn foreign exchange.Somehow I think that Nigerians know that already, but the usual Nigerian "nationalisation" of everything forces the whole thing through the same unsustainable, slow and "could be better" channels. Well, congrats to GEJ. History will remember that he commissioned the first locally built craft for the Nigerian navy. BTW I wouldn't know whether it is the first "local" navy craft, at least if you count what the Biafrans did. I could be wrong though. ![]() |

I feel like I need to restate my position on state creation in Nigeria. I hate creation of new states except if it addresses the issue of imbalance of the geo-po zones. Be that as it may, I still oppose carving out Anambra LGAs into any goofy "golden fleece state" unless the people from that LGA support it overwhelmingly. We are fine in Anambra state. So, here is my stand again. ![]() Onlytruth: State creation is a form of attack against unity of sections/zones/regions in Nigeria. It is an indirect attack against Nigerian unity. I still see it as a continuation of attack against Nigerian unity by myopic and recidivist elements within Nigerian society. Ironically, the people who chant national unity are the ones behind this attack. |
I have developed immunity to shocks as far as Nigeria is concerned. Sitting this one out. ![]() |

Dede1: Most Nigerians are bunch of moronic nitwits. The article did not say what constitutes legal and illegal when discussing the issue of drug factory. Does it mean the proprietor did not bribe the Nafdac to get all the necessary and sometimes inconsequential codes? I know want goes down with “pure water” and NAFDAC. I hope it is not the same scenario which applies to the drug factory.lol. I was thinking the same thing. The way Nigerians bay for blood these days tells me that more and more Nigerians need mental help. NAFDAC is the main problem here, because I cannot see how a "fake" factory would locate and function for MANY YEARS out of the Federal housing estate in Onitsha (practically on the Onitsha-Lagos highway) without anyone alerting the police. People (due to a type of illiteracy) tend to mix up issues. I personally would like to know the labels on the products, because that is a clear give away as to what the man is up to. If he labeled his products ANY thing other than his company's name, then IT IS A FAKE DRUG FACTORY; else it is NOT. It is possible that NAFDAC is playing games; probably needed more bribe to allow the man continue his business. When he refused, they dubbed his factory fake. Just my hunch; but let's wait for the details (if we ever get to that stage!). Nigeria sef. SMH. |
kingoflag: Talk about double speak at its finest: "I want it but I don't want it". SmhMy friend do you know that I represent a people with BROAD wants and needs in Nigeria? Left for me, no state will be created in SE, rather, existing regions should be adjusted, and fair number of constituencies and senatorial zones assigned to each region to enhance fair representation at the center. I only support it to carry along my brothers who are on the other side of this issue, who believe they need a state created for them. Some of you need your brains upgraded somehow. ![]() |
State creation is a form of attack against unity of sections/zones/regions in Nigeria. It is an indirect attack against Nigerian unity. I still see it as a continuation of attack against Nigerian unity by myopic and recidivist elements within Nigerian society. Ironically, the people who chant national unity are the ones behind this attack. Just watch, as soon as the states are created, people from former same states will start to see themselves as "other". Nigerians (nay Africans) somehow tend not to see bigger pictures. They tend to see more of "me, mine, ours" first. Quite sad. ![]() My state Anambra is a tripod of sorts: Onitsha, Awka and Nnewi. Each town brings something unique and powerful to the state. You can create your states and cut out whoever wants to leave, but any attempt to remove any of the three big strategic towns in Anambra into any goofy new state should be resisted by any smart Anambra man. Carve out any of the three towns, and Anambra will cease to be a great state. I warn my Anambra folks to put on a smart cap. Ife nine na egbuke egbuke aburo ona edo! Oburo otu a ka ife nlacha si ami. Kc3000: Something is amiss here. This is exactly how Fulani people have attacked in all their fights in recent years, ask any of their victims in the middle belt. . .they arrive in the middle of the night, surround their target, and they particularly take measures to diminish the likelihood of anyone escaping. Lest I forget, they also have a fetish for beheading their victims. How do you attack your immediate neighbors, in the middle of the night, maiming and killing all in sight(women and children included), when you are not at outright war? Fulani never had a problem with these types of operations, because they hit you and keep it moving to another location. The gruesomeness, the tactics deployed and the sheer number of people killed(40) in one swoop, just screams FULANI to me. I could be wrong, but that is just my gut feeling.I was beginning to think that our people have lost their goddamn minds for not spotting this clear sign you noticed. How can that skip people easily? Na wa o! THIS SCREAMS FULANI TO ME! I personally suspect that one village contracted the Fulani on their land (with grazing lease rights) to attack the other on their behalf. Talk about a sure way to hand your land over to foreign invaders masking as cattle men. ![]() Are their smart folks left on both states? What are those herdsmen still doing there? They should leave ASAP. |
Andre Uweh: Ogbomosho or Oyo town can be the capital. How do you know that Ihiala folks would want to be carved out of Anambra state? I would consult far and wide there before carving them into another state, else there will be trouble. Let those eager for states be carved up and be given the states. State creation involving LGA's should even be put up to a vote (referendum of sorts). We need to start practicing true democracy. |
I hate state creation, unless it addresses the issue of inequality between the so called zones (I quarrel with the zones anyway, go ask Musiwa ). If SE balances with other zones. Fine. But no one should carve out any local government from Anambra state unless the people there want it. As far as I can see, we are fine there. ![]() |
ndu_chucks: Beaf, lets hope this is not one of your double speak situations. The bolded above is obviously dispicable and unfortunate and so are these atrocities.@Bolded. My friend sharaap dia!
