Dede1: Please do not take seriously a lame crap vomited by one that despises oneself. My people say it is an aberration for rejected individual to also reject him or herself. A co.cksu.cker shall always remain the same regardless of the location. Nobody chooses a country to be born but parents may choose in which county to give birth. In addition, individuals have inalienable right to choose or form country other the country in which they were born.I will first assume that you are not referring to me with the bolded. If I don't get a refute or a correction from you, then I would assume that you are referring to me. I'm waiting. |
Ogbonaikenna: i.diot. Bilie is recognised by the UNlol That is why he is afraid of them, and trying to belittle them. He wants all our efforts to end LOCALLY. The ultimate truth is that the battle for our emancipation is INTERNATIONAL. Quote me on that. ![]() |
ndu_chucks: The above quote(particularly the one in red) confirms that you are delusional and completely out of touch with realities. Secondly you need to have a good relationship with your leaders back home if you intend to have any positive impact. For you to post a condemnation of the locally based "biafra" organizations shows how dumb you are. It is this pathological ego based ailment that will continue to ruin your cause. You and your BILIE cannot win a single local council election with the kind of attitude and foolish pride you are portraying here. BILIE ko, BILIE the goat ni.Watch me laugh at you first. Hahahahahahaha! ![]() Not that I expected you to say otherwise. ![]() I am saying something here ONLY because I know that some of my Igbo brothers may take your words literally. You speak in OPPOSITES. ![]() Anything you support, SHOULD BE DROPPED LIKE A POISONOUS SNAKE. ![]() You only support what weakens us. You are full of crap!! Your mental, educational, and psychological superiors who are Igbos are already on ground working towards a better Nigeria, while you are wallowing in second class citizenry abroad. You better take the advise Kobojunkie freely gave above, and you and your ilk would be better off.Second class citizenry is a NIGERIAN TERM. It does not exist in civilized countries. ![]() I can tell you now WITHOUT A SHADOW OF DOUBT, that in the eyes of the US government, I am as American as ANY, even those whose lineage go generations. We take our oath seriously out here. Whatever experience I pass through here, every other American also pass through it. In Nigeria, people from Sokoto, Kano, and Katsina and Borno (to some extent), are first class citizens because they get federal preferential treatment. When they lose a little of that, they form Boko Haram and start to bomb innocent people to death. That is your country. BTW that is why my brothers Dede1 and others want out, and I support that. ![]() |
God, the High and Lofty One, will continue to protect FEW men of God like Oritsejafor, because Nigeria is Satan's playground. This man has consistently spoken out against evil in Nigeria. God bless you man of God! ![]() |
ndu_chucks: Onlytruth is naive. The only thing he understands is that we are better off as one nation, which is a good thing. On the other hand, I don't believe this so-called Eze has ever been in the military or understands what war really means.Mr "Olodo", dunces like you need to know that some of the best military brains in the US defense forces are actually civilians. It is only in a banana republic that all military issues are handled by soldiers alone, and all hospitals are managed by doctors alone. In civilized countries (which Biafra will be one day) these jobs are handled by the best naturally endowed mentally. I would be a GREAT ASSET to any military institution. If not that Nigeria is a cesspit where a cow from the desert would be recruited (using quota system of course) ahead of humans from Eastern Nigeria, and if Nigeria does not have blood of innocent Igbo children starved to death in her hands, I may have become a TOP ranking officer in the Nigerian military by now. ![]() The rest of your post is trash. ![]() |
Dede1: The above post is one of the most regrettable comments I have ever read on Nairaland. Before ever the shooting war erupted between Nigeria and Biafra, Nigeria, particularly eastern region, has become the arena of international activities among the world powers especially USSR, UK and USA. It was not out-of-place that British government declared eastern region of Nigeria the most lucrative real estate in the commonwealth of British Empire. In addition, Africa was just seeing the light of civilized world and there was no doubt eastern region had more than its fair share of man power relative to its size. There was Ojukwu’s factor which played heavily on the socio-political minds of the kingmakers, thus, the so-called world powers. These world powers had first experience of what seems to loom over Nigeria in the crisis over Congo via Katanga. I shall not elaborate further on this subject but should alert Nigerians that the present state of the country was what the so-called world powers had wanted since 1960.Dede1 my brother. You know that I Onlytruth never joke with any of you guys that actually saw events as they unfolded. I am sorry if I said some things you may not agree with. Believe me, I am sorry I had to say them. ![]() There are many things you said in your comment above to which I cannot comment. I make it a duty to perfect my tact and diplomacy in communicating here. I chew every word I post here, and consider their strategic implications. Even when I seem "careless" in my comment, believe me I am not. Every word aims to empower Ndigbo and Eastern Nigerians. My scope of interest in Nigeria is Eastern Nigeria, which BTW is still an evolving region. Nigerian political reality from way before 1960 until today indicates that Nigeria is yet to "settle" (to use a construction term). The civil war was unfortunate, and believe me, by the time Ojukwu figured out the reason behind Biafran failure to obtain diplomatic support, we had already lost the war, technically. It would have been better not to fight the war at all, than to realize your mistake very late in the game. Nevertheless, hindsight is always 20/20, which is why we must learn from the past! As I keep saying, I WOULD NOT FIGHT A WAR I CANNOT WIN. If I consider all the strategic permutations, and it happens that I cannot get strong countries to support me, I would not fire a single shot. For me, it is as simple as that. Up till today, umu Igbo are still making that same strategic mistake of thinking that Nigeria is a local African country, IT IS NOT. That is all I can say. lol I see MASSOB making exactly the same mistake. The only organization that seem to understand the stakes is the Biafran Liberation in Exile (BILIE). If we want Biafra or Ala Igbo or any other seceded entity, we must know how to get it. I want you to join my council here because we discuss some things before taking position on them here on Nairaland. The council members don't always agree, but we at least try to coalesce around a common position. For us to improve on what our fathers did, we must learn from their mistakes first. One of their biggest mistakes was DISUNITY AND UNILATERALISM. Igwe bu ike! ![]() Let's do that and develop the East first. The rest will happen in due season. Udo diri gi nwanne m. ![]() |
PointB: Move on to where/what? Dude is something wrong with you? If you cannot bear someone commenting on stuff you posted, for crying out loud you should leave Nairaland. People like me abound here, and will continue to whether clowns like you like it or not. Let's assume for argument sake, that I am indeed indoctrinated, so fvcking what? Are you not even more indoctrinated by Tinubu, AC.N and their clannish ideaology? My name is Onlytruth, and I endorse this message! ![]() |

South Africa did it first, and other countries of the world will do it. Blame the South Africans for hating other Africans so much that they attacked them. It had never happened anywhere in the world until the South Africans did it. There are hoodlums in all countries that would import evil from anywhere in the world. I hope the Israeli government would move to arrest the situation quickly. Israel is too dear to allow its almost pristine image to be sullied by street rats. ![]() |

One_Naira: This is the worst thing I've read on this forum thus far. I wonder what created all this animosity between SE Igbo and the rest of us. SMH!!! While SS Igbo think of and work on improving Igbo as in total without considering anything even though once in a while SE Igbo insult us with easy because of few individuals and also because of those few individuals, FEW INDIVIDUALS, SE would rather draw a wedge from SS Igbo until we seek "affiliation". fake and real igbo policy abi? Yet una still wonder why there is this division among the community. Sometimes when I read stuff in this forum, I can view what motivated that buffoon named Emeka Esogbue to write this idiotic article. My brother calm down. I don't think that any SE Igbo second guesses Anioma; EVER. In my mind whenever I'm talking about SE, I have already included Anioma in it mentally. If only Nigeria would just conduct a boundary adjustment and create Anioma state to join SE officially. As for the Rivers Igbo, I believe that even Ikwerre can NEVER be removed from greater Igbo nation, talk less of other Igbo groups there. Some of our brothers speak ignorantly. When I advocate for international airports in SE, it is my way of saying that we cannot wait for Nigeria for ever before we take our destiny into our hands. If Anioma is part of SE today, Asaba automatically takes that position as one of the international airports. I think you should join my council here because you need to know what is really going on. Contact me at Ezendigbo_nl@hushmail.com ![]() I will also invite Chyz and Proud-Igbo when I see them. |
I didn't know that this thread would go past 4 pages. Well well. Agbachakwa egwu o naa n'ukwu -every dance moves must culminate in hip movements. I advised that we should leave revisiting the past as far as minority (especially the eastern ones) involvement in the war is concerned. My reason remains simple, and it seems that only few of my brothers understood it. I love Ojukwu and would fight anyone dissing his legacy. I would also be foolish if I say that he was infallible. He was a man too. The midwest incursion (as every good historian already knows) was a mistake and a miscalculation. Simple and short. As for the Eastern minorities, as early as August 1966, there was already an Eastern consultative assembly formed to bring everybody on board in the East. It did not achieve much. The next in October of same year didn't achieve much also. There was no SOLID agreement in the East until the shooting war started, and there could not have been that agreement because there were Ijaw elements such as Dappa Biriye and Isaac Adaka Boko who were mentally allied with the Hausa/Fulani North, and there was nothing anyone could have done to persuade them otherwise. For me, after that assembly in 1966, I would have gone to seek an alliance with a STRONG foreign country who would agree to support Biafra with a naval and air force, knowing that these elements were already planning to sabotage Biafra. If I couldn't get that foreign support, I would have dropped ALL plans of secession and called it a day. Someone on this thread raised a strong point that southern groups were not Biafra's biggest threats initially. It was Hausa/Fulani. If Biafra had focused on them and dealt with them seriously, no southern element would have even thought about fighting Biafra. All these accusations and counter accusations to me sounds like nothing more than lame attempts at revisionism. I warn my Igbo brothers to always think strategically. When I hustle for international airports in SE, join me in that campaign and use the vigor you have wasted here to hustle along with me. Those are strategic investments. I wish you would give 10% of the energy you gave on this thread to such strategic efforts, instead of abandoning it, making it to look like an Onlytruth venture. Save your energy for efforts that would empower us. Campaign for worthy empowerment of our section of Nigeria. When we get empowered, all things shall be added onto us. You cannot get that empowerment without international access. You are all keeping quiet when you see all the international airports located outside Igbo land. Tomorrow you will start complaining that those people did not join our efforts. When you plan a war, you put it WAY BEYOND THE REACH of failure. That is how we should be thinking, not cherry picking history and cutting and dicing fault-lines. |
Andre Uweh: England has giving the world the most widely spoken language.Eh my brother the bolded is not true o. The way I see it, here is how they rank: US China Japan India Germany Russia Brazil Uk ![]() |
Germannig: No Oil Discovery in Kwara, Says DPR ![]() Nigerians no go kill me wallahi! ![]() So na mechanic oil dem find? Oil na oil biko. lmao. |
Beaf: ^For me, that is the bottom-line. The strategic planning that went into the secession effort was not good enough. I appreciate the effort, though it failed, because history proves that the secessionists were right. Some argue that not much have changed, and I tend to agree, though I tend to oscillate between the two camps myself (maybe to identify with the best intentions of both sides). What I'm concerned about is that history must NEVER repeat. My ultimate motives have been to ensure that history never repeats in any way. I say this, not out of fear or emotion, but out of a clear sanity of purpose. I don't ever pick a war I cannot win. In my book, the so called "Republic of Benin" would have been a very rich and prosperous country today (all things being equal) ; the same for Biafra and Odua. I wouldn't know about the North. Maybe they themselves would have developed their human resources more resolutely and may have created a great country as well. What everyone nearly agrees on is that Nigeria has not lived up to expectations, hence this talk in 2012. Quite sad. ![]() |
@Beaf, I just thought of this and wanted to get your opinion. With clear hindsight now, don't you think that "Republic of Benin" would have been a GREAT country by now? I've never thought of this before. Honestly. I've always thought that the whole idea of Biafran forces entering Midwest and its associated headache was just a distraction and very bad idea. There was NOTHING Biafra would have gained from it except perhaps that the leader of the new Republic of Benin was Igbo. Maybe y'all thought that he would merge the territory with Biafra later. lol ![]() I need your honest answer. I gotta run along though. I'll be back later to continue. ![]() |
Beaf: @OnlyTruthHonestly, let's just drop the issue. Honestly it isn't worth wasting time on. The CURRENT AND FUTURE is what matters. |
Logic Mind: I get you but Beaf was making allusions to the invasion led by Victor Banjo before the federal troops pushed back.My brother to be honest, we shouldn't waste our time trying to figure out which minority group fought against us and which sided us. For me, those groups were not in a strong position to resist joining Nigeria. Does it make it right? Of course not. But don't forget the first law of human nature -save your own a.s.s. first! ![]() CURRENT events in Nigeria is what I base my views about those people on. What they do NOW and how they relate to us TODAY is what I look at. When I plan for Biafra 2.0 (if I have to), I focus more on things that make it impossible for say a Hausa or Yoruba to enter Eastern Nigeria at all. If I achieve that, the minorities will answer their fathers name without having to sabotage me. Let's just focus on the BIGGER picture, even while we watch our backs. If we secure the big picture, our backs will be automatically secure. Simple and short. |
^^ The point above is that Biafran troops made incursions into the Mid West after the first incursion by the Biafran expeditionary force in 1967. Only God knows who did what during those later incursions because the war was raging, and Nigerian army was already committing genocide in the East. |
^^ My brother, it pays to argue from a position of FACTS. That is what separates our cause from those of others who would lie to win. Here are parts of what happened: Again, in late March and early April (1968. ) after a series of reversals, Kalu blocked the first major attempt by Adekunle to take Port Harcourt through Onne. Akinrinade’s 15 brigade was practically wiped out. According to Oluleye, the only survivors were “Ijaw swimmers” who knew how to disappear into the creeks. If Kalu had sustained the momentum and conducted a hot pursuit he would have retaken Bonny and made history.. . After the Port Harcourt debacle, Kalu led the 63 Brigade of the 11 Division under Colonel Amadi and staged a successful assault crossing of the River Niger. He slipped behind 2 Division lines and temporarily harassed Asaba, Ogwashi-Uku and even Ibusa, all in the Midwest. The significance of this move was that it was the first return of Biafran units to the Midwest since they were evicted in October 1967. Unsurprisingly, the incursion was not significantly publicized on the federal side.. . . In May 1969, Achuzia’s units were again in the news. This time, while he was personally based at Oraifite near Onitsha, a detachment of his Republic of Benin Division took some European oilmen hostage at Kwale in the Midwest, across the river Niger. A number of Italian oilmen were killed. Although tactically successful, the raid eventually proved strategically harmful to Biafra internationally. It certainly cost Biafra the support of the Vatican, among others. France reportedly reduced arms supplies. In September 1969, Achuzia was again in action. This time he withdrew a Brigade of his “Republic of Benin Division” from the Midwest to assist in Biafra’s “Operation Do or Die” - the effort to relieve the Biafran 57 Brigade in the vital food producing area of Otuocha. The Brigade had been cut off by elements of the federal 1st Division (including Captain Bello Khaliel, Major Muhammadu Buhari, etc.) as they secured the Onitsha-Enugu road in one of their many efforts to link Abagana with Onitsha. We don't need any new state. What we need is 6 regions created by adjusting current geopolitical zones to create stable and self sustaining entities. Every advocate of new state creation is a lazy thief waiting to corner a little space for himself for easy looting. ![]() |
I often frown at "wholesale attacks" against southern minorities on the civil war issue, especially EASTERN minorities, because people like Dede1 should know better about the TRUTH of what happened back then. Careytommy for example is from Akwa ibom state, and a HUGE chunk of the people from there fought for Biafra and suffered alongside other Biafrans. The Biafran second in command was an Ibibio man. No twisting of history can ever change that. The attack on Careytommy was uncalled for. As for bbreye, the Ijaw were split too (especially the Eastern Ijaw), so I cannot tongue lash him either. I wish my brother Dede1 would calm down for once about his views on these groups. As for the Mid-west, I believe that Biafra failed to do a good job BEFORE the war. The incursion by Biafran special forces (the S- Brigade) was only a defensive offense (after the war had already started), so that is understandable. The strategic damage was done BEFORE the war. Let no one forget that, lest a mistake is repeated. Every Biafran adult (anyone above 18 years during the war) should make it a DUTY to be very honest about what happened during the war. Today's Nigerian politics shouldn't make anyone twist facts. I've said my peace. |
Fhemmmy:I still don't buy your "wait for electricity first before international airport" theory. If Lagos and Kano can have theirs without the electricity, so can Onitsha. ![]() |
COMPAQ: I'll like to see exactly how this refinery is supposed to make money! This must be one of the dumbest position to take on something as strategic as a refinery these days, even a small one. |
Fhemmmy: There is no doubt that an international airport could help Anambra . . All i am saying is, instead of Anambra depending on generator to power an airport, 24 hours electricity is achievable. You missed the point I'm making with my Lagos example. That Lagos international airport continues to bring big investments into Lagos, even though the airport itself suffers constant power outages. We cannot wait for something we don't know when it would be. We can build and operate an international airport. It is within our ability. Power sector is a federal government "never do well" baby. We cannot allow it to stop our economic revolution which can be sparked by the international airport. Again, there are international experts waiting to come in and invest, creating jobs for young graduates, even in a situation of irregular power supply. It is already happening in Lagos. |
@Chino11, can you please get us a more credible info on the ownership structure of Orient Petroleum? Thanks nwanne. ![]() |
ndu_chucks: Your belief does not make it a fact. It is irresponsible of you to believe such a story without verification. Orient Petroleum is 100% privately owned. olodoDon't worry. I will verify. I don't say things I'm not sure of. If I find out that I'm wrong, I will say so. |
Fhemmmy: well said, but we could try and start to blv little by little and then increase our faith when we see the result. When it comes to government business and delivery of dividends of democracy, I ONLY BELIEVE THINGS I SEE. In all honesty I'm yet to see BIG and CLEAR achievements by the Obi government. I am an APGA man, so I want him to succeed. As for the airport, we need INTERNATIONAL airport, not local one. Lagos does not have steady power supply too. If we wait for steady power supply, we will wait for ever. That international access will give us the investors that will turn around every sector, including power sector in Anambra state. |
ndu_chucks: Wikipedia is now the authoritative source for the confirmation of part ownership of Orient Petroleum Refinery, by Anambra state. SMHI believe that the Orient Petroleum is partly owned by Anambra state. I read it somewhere when they were doing private placement sometime ago. I will look for a more credible information on that. I don't know about the refinery, but if Orient owns it, then Anambra state owns part of it. |
Dede1: Who do you consciously expect to make the union politically and economically convenience so the interactive amalgam would be a smooth ride for opportunists? If the go-getters make the union a paradise and decide to corner the largest portion of it as reserved enclave, myopic opportunists shall be the first to mount the pulpit with bullhorns in hand announcing to the world how they have pushed aside in a project which is collectively owned.Honestly, if not for the overwhelming desire by Ndigbo to leave Nigeria, I would have seriously dropped the idea of secession. I am convinced, that the best vengeance Ndigbo and her civil war allies can have is to stay in Nigeria and use the Nigerian system to deal with our civil war foes. Nigeria is a very beautiful weapon of oppression. It is sometimes amazing to me that any minority would want to stake their future in this system which is for grabs by major groups. It is even more amazing to me that anyone would split away from any major tribe in Nigeria. This is part of why you see some Igbo who are equally against secession. We can eat our cakes and still have it in Nigeria. Eziokwu. All we need is to meet and agree with other major tribes about power sharing, and we would simply join the feast of thieves and oppressors. ![]() I don't know for how long I would resist the temptation to join that feast. ![]() |
alj harem: ^^^^^I never do hate propaganda. I want my people to start using their heads to plan a future that no enemy can sabotage. If you call self reliance "hate", I would call you a parasite, because you want me to ignore my region and develop yours. You can only convince an unsophisticated person to buy your self destruction agenda for Ndigbo. We need international access, and we will get them before 2015. When we get them, we will start to invest massively in Eastern Nigeria where we should have been investing for years now but couldn't due to evil conspiracy against us. That conspiracy can't survive till 2015. That is a promise. ![]() |

I am not these people.I am a WISE Igbo, trained by EXPERIENCE, and make MEASURED AND CALCULATED INVESTMENTS. I don't throw my money away.
