Finally,I am a very busy person and may not have time to post elaborate replies regarding this. All I want to do here is recount my experience for all to hear so that they are forewarned before committing to the OP.

Deal with him if you chose to buy do so with my experience at the back of your mind.

From time to time, I will come back here as my schedule permits to remind everyone of this gory experience I went through in the hands of a very deceitful and fraudulent trader.

I really do not know what to make of his attempt at image laundering. How can you ask me after 6 months to bring back the old gearbox. This further process the point that you are a barefaced liar and perhaps even worse. You are indeed a big SCAMMER. This is the more reason people should be very careful with you. Who keeps a defective gearbox for 6 months?

When you deceived me into buying your re-worked gearbox did you not buy off my old unit as part of the condition for the discount that you gave me?

Did you honestly expect me to keep the bad gearbox you sold to me as a momento of our dealings? Even you know that is not possible.

Why didn't you ask me to return the gearbox in January, or even in February before I stopped calling you? For those who need to understand clearer the prevailing practice is that in purchasing a gearbox and engines in Ladipo, the old gearbox is purchased from you or the price of the 'new' one is discounted in return for the old one.

I must say that in contrast to what many may think, my intention has never been to damage this man's business but I owe it to myself to let others know what my experience with this man was.

It took me over 6 months of weighing back and forth the propriety of publishing my experience here. Eventually, it swung in favour of a full disclosure. While I know that many people will have doubts as per my intentions but I need to make this public for the sake of others who are thinking of dealing with him. The choice will eventually be theirs but they will also have to bear the consequences headlong. It's just a warning to be careful with the guy as his word is not his bond.

For those of you who have counter reacted and testified to having a good experience with him then I would say you were lucky....or perhaps I was unlucky. But I have since pulled myself up bought another gearbox and moved on. I just have pangs of regret.

For the avoidance of doubt, I have bought several items through this platform....some cheaper and some more expensive. This is the most dubious experience I have had and I decided to bring it up.

Around March last year, this man called me requesting a 13pin gear box for his car, i sold to him at 320k because he was very persuasive and all he even promised to help me sell lots of gearbox on nairaland if i sold to him at 300k but i couldnt because market price was at 350k, then original oil was 17k for 4litres which he is going to buy 8litres, my mechanic was collecting 25k for fixing around that time, we agreed on price and everything, he requested for my acct and all and said he was going to make payment the following day. I waited but i didnt hear from him, only for him to contact 8months later to tell me he had some personal issues which I wouldn’t want to state publicly, at the time the gearbox was at 400k to 420k market price. He explained all his personal issues to me trying to lobby me into reducing price for him i later agreed to sell at 390k for him to buy because i wanted him to help me in boosting sales on nairaland like he promised, pls note that by the time he called for the gear 8months later prices of every item and service has increased the mechanics were now collecting 35k instead of 25k, the original T4 oil rose from 17k to 55k for 4litres

I don't think the issue here is the price I bought the gearbox for.

Indeed I had a lot of issues last year and found it difficult to put the required money together for the gearbox. This experience should have at least persuaded you to give me a good or at least functional gearbox.

I can also confirm that I pleaded with you for a discount at that time which you claim you provided. I have no issues with your account of how this transaction played out.

I only brought this matter here because you refused to do the needful. As stated earlier I fulfilled my own part of the transaction in full. I paid the agreed amount for the gearbox, I paid for the mechanic in full )recall that even this payment was directly to your account), I bought the prescribed gear oil (97k). I did all the above hopeful that with your assurances and guarantee you provided this would be a one investment that would pay off as I would use the gearbox for a few years before it would require a replacement.

Less than 24 hours after the gearbox was fixed I called to complain that it wasn't functioning properly. I also called the mechanic that fixed the gearbox and he told me that it was an oil circulation matter that after driving for a while it would perform as expected.

I still called you to complain that the gearbox was failing as it was skipping gears. You then said that the mechanic would have to come back. I agreed to this. You however said that the cost of the mechanic coming back would be mine and I told you clearly that I would not pay for a repeat job just days after parting with a hefty amount for labour.

I made it clear that the choice of mechanic was yours and it was predicated on the guarantee I had requested for. You insisted that the mechanic would only come if I paid another fee. The mechanic on his own part was claiming that this was an electrical fault. I remember clearly telling you that I would not invite anybody else to inspect/or touch that gear so that we don't void the indemnity you gave us.

Severally, I called you and you refused to budge. Eventually, you refused to pick my calls.

At that point I realized that I had been scammed. Yes, you are a softspoken educated trader but you are also very unreliable and untrustworthy like many other traders in that market. One would have thought that with your appearance on Nairaland you would have tried to make a difference.

How wrong was I?

Yes that is what happened. You can deduce whatever you like from that scenario but that is how it was.

However, the eyes you use to read are yours, your brain and it's development are also yours, so is your experiencing. Even imbeciles are entitled to their opinion.

You said " Go get your experience some how ", I think that is exactly what I'll do, since they expect job seekers to magically manufacturer experience, then I'll manufacturer one for them. Rubbish.

You are taking this the wrong way. Everything boils down to your attitude. I assure you that if you were in the shoes of the employer you would do exactly the same.

Employers seek solution providers. They are not training schools. At some point in their evolution if it becomes expedient they can set up a training facility that will provide them with the right pool of human capital. I assure you that this effort only results from a failure in the educational system.

Shell at some point had to set up a Graduate Training Facility just because what the universities were churning out was sub-par. For those who participated in such programmes they can testify to this.

If you are honest with yourself you will relate with the following; During the NYSC camp experience you will recall meeting some graduates and then wondering if and how they went through a tertiary education.

Bros, employers are struggling seriously to get the right candidates and they have to resort to varied options to attract the very best. One of these is to get people already prepared to hit the ground running as a result of having gained experience in a similar role.

If you really want a job then an interview session is a platform for you to sell your abilities and not to come and profess how fast a learner you are. That should already be a given for a good graduate.

During the week I was trying to recruit a junior Accountant. The three most qualified candidates were brought to my office all of them with shining First degrees. Non of them could use MS Excel beyond the rudiments. They had not taught themselves how to use any of the more popular accounting softwares. All three claimed they were 'fast learners'. So I will employ Accounting graduates and teach them how to use of intermediate Excel. It's alright. I settled for the fifth candidate who incidentally has no degree but an ATS. He is however very well versed in MS Excel, Save, QuickBooks and Zoho Books. To crown it all he has 3 years cognate experience working in a similar role within this same industry. Two days on board and nobody has a doubt that this was the best decision.

What would you do in my shoes.

Point of correction, I didn't manage, I graduated well. Every so called experienced person you find today was once inexperienced and also passed through the same university with irrelevant theories, they only got to where they are today because someone gave them a chance, if these people where asked to present a 50 years experience back then how will they have gotten to where they are today?

There are no opportunities out there for fresh graduates, every HR is looking for experience, even on entry levels they will still be asking for 50 years experience.

You see what I mean!

You are bitter with the system. But trust me, the system is perfect. It's what we feed it that we get out of it.

You have to chose properly who your fight will be directed at. No HR person owes you a job.

They have their own issues and the biggest problem any HR has is finding the fright fit for a role. I will have you know that in some organisations the career progression of a HR personnel is directly dependent on his/her ability to fill roles with the right personnel. You then think he would jeopardize his career so that you get a job?

Go get your experience some how. If the position requires "50" years experience then there is a reason for it.

Companies are set up for profit. They are no charities. They reserve the right to select the very best candidates for a role. They do not owe you or indeed anyone else a training or experience gathering opportunity. They need to make profits and are thus bound to hire only those who can provide the relevant experience that will enable them attain their corporate objectives.

And by the way, you will not be given a chance if you don't grab it. Nigeria is a great cash cow and fertile beyond your wildest dreams. If you can't see that much then it's nobody's fault.

Finally Sir, "graduating well* in the Nigerian context means getting a good grade. In the real world it means so much more.

I hope you benefit from this typing effort. I am only trying to point you in the right direction and not seeking an elongated argument.

Cheers!

Mr man shut that your maggot infested mouth, what competence are you talking about? Most HR request for 50years job experience and list job requirements when them or their papa nor fit meet up. These days it's very difficult to see a job that does not require 50years of experience, even for entry level position they will still be asking for experience. Na God go purnish some of these HR.

If they want 50 years experience and you don't have then it simply means you are unqualified for that particular job. Move on and get the opportunity that you are qualified for and trust me if you are good enough you will be appreciated with an offer letter.

Stop blaming the HR. Focus on improving yourself and make your skills attractive and perhaps even indispensable. Away with theory that you are entitled to a job from Government just because you managed to go through a tertiary education and were fed with irrelevant theories.

Welcome to the real world bro.

In contrast to what you may think not every Nigerian that goes abroad excels. As a matter of fact there are more failures among migrants than social media cares to showcase.

Whether you believe it or not the truth stands indestructible......incompetence is at its peak in Nigeria. It has never been this bad.

If we stop pretending for a while and face reality, we might just be able to pull this shop back on track before it totters over or drops over the precipice. The situation is so bad that it is indescribable.

Mr Onnyx your words aren’t matching up, you said you called me repeatedly and i was giving excuses, the last time we spoke i told you to give the mechanic transportation to ogun state which you refused, you shouted and threatened to come on nairaland and you hanged up on me, that was the last I heard from you. Just because of transportation for the mecho to cone and check on the wirings of your car.

Secondly, you lied again when u said you tested the car the following day, immediately the mechanic finished the work i called to confirm from you if everything was okay before i paid the mechanic you confirmed that it was okay so i paid the mechanic then after about a week or two that was when you called to say the car moves on one gear only, which could either be because of a faulty brainbox or wiring (mind you this car has been parked for months or more than a year) of which you also knew that this car has developed lots of issues rats have eaten some of the wires too

Thirdly i never requested any money from you, pls dont lie about this i only told you the mechanic needs transportation to come to ogun state and you refused to give him, which suprised me and even the mechanic too

I am happy the responses are now more spontaneous.

I will try to keep up with the pace.

Recall that we have evidences we can draw on. I have WhatsApp mesasages which we will bring here at the right time. Call logs and also transfer evidences abound. Let's leave that aside and deal with the issues you have raised.

1. First and foremost, recall that you chose the mechanic to come and install the gear and backed this choice up as a requirement for the guaranty/warranty you were providing with this purchase. Despite the fact that the mechanic presented an outrageous bill I agreed to pay because this was pre-condition for indemnity.

You will recall that the mechanic did not finish the job on the day he started out. At dusk he had to retire a x I provided him shelter for the night in my driver's quarters. Early the next morning he wrapped up the job and tested the car himself. I joined him and noticed that the gears were not selecting after gear 2. His response was that since the gearbox had just been mounted and lubricated we should allow the gear oil to circulate properly and that it will work perfectly. On my further inquiry about a certain noise he responded that only thing left to be done was the suspension (especially the shaft) of the car. I agreed to have this done and even asked him if he could undertake this repair as a separate job......he declined with the excuse that he was travelling for a job that was already paid for ostensibly by you.

That same morning I complained to you and you echoed what the mechanic said regarding oil circulation. Note that I had told you that the car was due to make a trip on 28th December to the East. This was already post Christmas.

On the day after the repairs I called and complained again about the excessive jerking and your response was that it would need the mechanic to come back to revisit the job. You then asked me to foot not just the transport of the mechanic but also the cost of this second service. I reminded you that I had just paid you 30,000 for the mechanic and that I would do no such thing. I would expect that with all the assurances you gave me you would at least have caused your mechanic to come and assess the mechanicals all over again. For your information there was absolutely nothing wrong with the electricals as subsequent appraisals revealed.

You took advantage of my trust which was founded on meeting you on Nairaland. You sold me a lemon deliberately and that's why you refused to attend to my complaints. While I may not be able to stop you from continually deceiving people, I will commit to ensuring that periodically I quote your posts with this incident so that others who are entering your snare will at least do so consciously. You will learn the hard way that deceit does not pay.

I can also warn you that this is just the beginning. As many people as possible in all social media platforms must know about you and your cunning.

When my driver resumed later in the day he drove the car and complained that the car was not moving properly and that the gears were not changing.

Mr Onnyx I know what you came here to do, you only came here to spoil my thread because I wouldn’t budge after all your threats. You already said you would do this, i have been expecting this. But it is fine. Pple whom have bought things from me knows how worried i am when things dont go well and how eager i am in fixing it up. I do my best to satisfy my customers
And so far i havent had bad cases, people like you who are so inconsiderate and greedy yet would threaten me with leaving bad reviews on my thread would never stop me from doing good.

I am surprised that a trader in used spare parts would claim that he doesn't have bad cases. The problem here is not whether you have bad cases or not.....it's how you handle the bad cases. Immediately after fixing that gearbox I reached out to you telling you that the gear wasn't working properly. As a matter of fact my driver was the first person who noticed the malfunction and he mentioned it to me.

The following morning I drove the car myself and noticed that it wasn't responding as expected. I immediately called you and complained. You then called your mechanic who complained that my location was too far but he will see what he can do. He was at and hasn't been able to do anything this far.

You on the other hand just moved on as if nothing happened. Haba Bro, we talking of half a million naira here. You just absolved yourself and moved to the next customer. How you sleep peacefully at night beats me.

At the bolded I never threatened you. It's not even my style. But I did say that I would bring this to Nairaland if we couldn't resolve the matter. And here we are.

Secondly, you call me greedy and inconsiderate because I refused to pay half the price for a another gearbox when the one you sold me was under warranty.

It took me almost a year to raise the money for that gearbox and he knows because I kept updating him about my circumstances.

can you please state your issues? We are waiting to read from you pls

My Sienna developed a gear issue some time last year in Ogun State. I contacted him in March and tried to buy a gearbox from him but I couldn't afford it then. It took me 7 months to get the money together and I paid this man for a gearbox (13 pin) paid for delivery and labour and also purchased the recommended Gear Oil for 100k and he sold me a lemon of a gearbox. A badly rehashed gearbox that did not even last one full day.

I called him and his mechanic repeatedly and nothing happened. I had to buy another gearbox one month ago.

He knows me. I took the gearbox to Akute. I await his response or his version before I post further details.

If you have an issue with us, you can go ahead and state it on nairaland so everyone can see, i do have my version of what transpired in our business deal together, you can state yours i will also do the same. So people can see for themselves and know exactly what transpired.

So you finally decided to respond. Typically you will pretend that you do not know what transpired. Pls do not pretend. I bought a Toyota Sienna 13 pin Gearbox from you last December. The entire transaction was fraudulent in all respects. Despite all my efforts at reaching out to you to do something about the gearbox you ignored me completely.

You insisted that I pay in full for the gearbox.

You also insisted that your own mechanic be the one that fixes the gearbox at a price you determined.

I bought the recommended Gear Oil for the gearbox and 24 hours after the job was done the gearbox was malfunctioning.

I couldn't travel with the car that holiday despite injecting over 500k in gearbox repairs.

I called you repeatedly and it was one excuse after the other.

I had to spend another 500k to procure another gearbox from one of your colleagues who roundly condemned your actions insisting that you knew that the gearbox you sold was reworked.

I kept that gearbox with me for several weeks and invited different people to look at it in order to get their opinion.

Since I bought another gearbox I could have let the matter ride but I do not think any other person here should suffer what I went through.

If there are a few people who have genuinely enjoyed your service...then they are either very lucky or you are very selective in your choice of who to scam.

I still insist that those who deal with you should do so with their fingers crossed.

Locking a chat on WhatsApp takes that thread out of your inbox and puts it behind its own folder that can only be accessed with your device’s password or biometric, like a fingerprint.
It also automatically hides the contents of that chat in notification.

You can lock a chat by tapping the name of a one-to-one or group and selecting the lock option.
To reveal these chats, slowly pull down on your inbox and enter your password or biometric.

It's as simple as that.

Try and see for yourself sir but abeg help me drop review when you confirm

For some of us buying a fashion item is an irregular exercise. It requires as much attention as you can muster. Getting the right fit for a shoe, a suit and indeed other items requires a trial.

A shoe and a suit may be your size but may not be the right fit.

I always try out suits and shoes only after trying it on and being overwhelmingly satisfied in order to avoid buyers remorse.

Another thing worthy of note is the fact that pictures may never give you a true representation of the actual item you desire. You need to see it and even feel it.

I am willing to buy it from you at a public place if you agree and then follow up with reviews.

Do you sell Toyota Sienna 2005 model gearbox?

Mine has a problem;

It suddenly stopped working just like that.....right in the middle of the expressway.
As a matter of fact I was towed away by the task force crew.............story for another day.

However, it still works perfectly well in reverse gear.
A few mechanics have offered to rebuild, or repair the gearbox but the prevailing thought is for a replacement.

Please your expert guidance will be appreciated here.

This was the very intention after the transaction went wrong.

He had to lean on an alternative plan since the tests rejected his Kidney offer.

Unfortunately, this won't end well. It never does. He is going to have to keep looking over his shoulders for as long as he lives. As always he had other options which may have included a hard nosed negotiation with the Consultant Doctor whom he was dealing with directly.

He may have stay but I assure you he will always have pariah status among most blacks in the diaspora.

This cannot end well. Not here, not in the UK not anywhere else.

Lol. Midget wait till u r sworn in grin

This one will end up worst than the current buffon.

You will eat these your words in the nearest future.

I assure you that in drawing from my personal experience with Alex all Abians will be drunk with happiness within the next two years. This is one the best choices at gubernatorial level since 1999.

I am not one given to Political discussions and debates. But I assure you that within the bounds of this country we have everything we need to make this country a Power House.

All we need to do is identify and push people with antecedence who no longer care about their personal success because they are super accomplished.

Alex please talk to Barth Nnaji and draw him close. Let him conclude the Geometric Power project in Aba and environs.

Abia indeed will be the model of governance as expressed in the synergy between government and individual effort in the nearest future.
