Report just in says Vice President Namadi Sambo has
just ended a meeting with the representatives of the
Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) in the
State House.it's another attempt by the government to
solve the lingering crisis in nigeria's tertiary institution;
university lecturers have been on strike for three
months. In a chat with journalists, ASUU President
Nasiru Isa Fagge says he will report details of the
meeting to its members after which it will be made

A Reno woman by the name Marianne Theresa
Johnson-Reddick, born January 4, 1935, died last
month, amazingly, to the relief and comfort of her
children whom she spent a lifetime (in their words)
"torturing in every way possible."
Those children, now grown, marked her passing by
submitting the most chilling obituary you will ever
read to her local newspaper, the Reno Gazette-
Journal.
Here's the obituary's full text, culled from Gawker.
Marianne Theresa Johnson-Reddick born Jan 4,
1935 and died alone on Aug. 30, 2013. She is
survived by her 6 of 8 children whom she spent
her lifetime torturing in every way possible.
While she neglected and abused her small
children, she refused to allow anyone else to care
or show compassion towards them. When they
became adults she stalked and tortured anyone
they dared to love. Everyone she met, adult or
child was tortured by her cruelty and exposure to
violence, criminal activity, vulgarity, and hatred of
the gentle or kind human spirit.
On behalf of her children whom she so abrasively
exposed to her evil and violent life, we celebrate
her passing from this earth and hope she lives in
the after-life reliving each gesture of violence,
cruelty, and shame that she delivered on her
children.
Her surviving children will now live the rest of
their lives with the peace of knowing their
nightmare finally has some form of closure.
Most of us have found peace in helping those who
have been exposed to child abuse and hope this
message of her final passing can revive our
message that abusing children is unforgiveable,
shameless, and should not be tolerated in a
"humane society".

Boko Haram have resorted to armed robbery
following the dislodgement of their camps in some
parts of Borno State by troops which had forced
many of the terrorists to scavenge for food from
villagers. They now rob innocent civilians and even
recently killed three passengers after collecting
unspecified amount of cash and food items from
their victims along Bama- Banki road.
An intelligence information available to the newly
established Headquarters of 7 Division, Nigerian
Army, Maiduguri indicated that the terrorists have
written threat letters to Dikwa Market/Traders
demanding N1 million to enable them purchase
food items and other logistical requirement or be
ready to face deadly attacks.
These were contained in a press statement emailed
to Journalists yesterday by the Acting Spokesman
of the 7 Div, Nigerian Army, Lieutenant Colonel
Sagir Musa in Maiduguri, the state capital.
In the statement, Sagir said, “at about 11:35 hours
on 13th September, 2013, some troops of Banki
Forward Operating Base (BFOB) on a mission of
202 Battalion Bama, on their way back to Banki, a
border town with Cameroun Republic encountered
some Boko Haram terrorists along Bama-Banki
road carrying out armed robbery activities on
innocent traders and travelers.
“The terrorists had killed 3 passengers and
collected unspecified amount of cash and food
items during the robbery.
“Consequently, several terrorists also lost their
lives during the chanced encounter with the
troops. Similarly, intelligence available to the 7
Division indicated that in desperation to survive,
the Boko Haram terrorists have written a letter to
Dikwa Market/Traders demanding N1 million to
enable them purchase food items and other
logistical requirements or be ready to face their
wrath”. Sagir stated in the statement.

Abuja - President Goodluck Jonathan sacked nine
ministers in his first major cabinet reshuffle since
winning an election more than two years ago, a
presidency spokesman said on Wednesday.
The ministers of foreign affairs, education, science
and technology, housing and urban development,
national planning, and environment have been
removed. The ministers of state - the junior
minister for each office - for power, agriculture and
defense have also been sacked.
"They will be replaced but not immediately," a
spokesman told reporters, without giving further
details.
