jamace: I believe Rochas has some elements of good leadership but my problem with him is that he does not know where to stand to stand firm. Too shaky for my liking.
He has elements of action(with little or no purpose) but no elements of good leadership.

qstar: What is "miracle"?

What makes you believe in "miracles"?
Miracle is a vague term used to describe occurrences that deviate from the established natural course of events. I am sure that such things occur in every religion of the world. If there were no religions, these occurrences would still happen. It is therefore erroneous for anyone to say these miracles happen because their own religion is right while others are wrong.

texanomaly: Who is this God you speak of? Where does he/she come from? How do you know this person/entity?
When i talk about God, i don't have a person in mind. I think of the entity or entities that powered this universe. I don't believe that everything we see just appeared by accident. There is too much order in the world for such to be possible. So i believe we have a creator or creators although no one can say with any measure of certainty what he, she or they look like.

davidylan: created by what and how? I beg your pardon but that line in highlights flies in the face of the atheistic theory of how man evolved. According to pseudo-science, man and everything else on the planets were "created" by random, illogical mutational arrangements... so how come we suddenly developed the ability to reason in the midst of such thoughtless chaos?
I am not an atheist. Go through the thread and see my stance. cheers
Christianity EtcRe: Why Is Logic Not Allowed In The Mega Religions Of The World? by Onyegecha(op): 9:37pm On Jul 22, 2014
I believe in God. I also believe in miracles because the world itself is a miracle. What i don't get is why any group of people should colonize God and make Him their exclusive property. We don't know His (or her) name or character beyond what nature tells us, yet we tear each other up over unfounded beliefs based on some ancient writs. This would not be the case if we all could subject everything we are told in our various temples to the test of common sense and logicality.
Christianity EtcRe: Why Is Logic Not Allowed In The Mega Religions Of The World? by Onyegecha(op): 9:21pm On Jul 22, 2014
MrAnony1: Which of them told you that logic is not allowed?

Please quote from the bible, the torah and the quran the passages that told you to avoid logic.
They don't need to tell us anything. It is obvious. When you believe that a book written by human beings is the word of of God, it goes against common sense. Believing that there are is one God and yet you split him into three can only happen in the realm of the illogical. Believing that only the religion you practice can take one to God is crazy. How can anyone swallow the story of the tower of Babel if he does not first divest himself of all elements of common sense? Any attempt to reason with believers will be met with the cliche that there is no logic in the word of God. You just have to believe without proof.
Christianity EtcWhy Is Logic Not Allowed In The Mega Religions Of The World? by Onyegecha(op): 8:14pm On Jul 21, 2014
We were created to be logical beings. That is what distinguishes us from other animals we call lower beings. We apply logic and common sense in everything we do but when it comes to religion, we are told to keep logic out of it. Is that not why the entire religious world is in chaos?

Clerverly: I am certain you don't even have voters card! Mark it here Nwokem, Rochas would have his way! And maggots like you would cry foul!
If he has his way, it is our collective loss because even those of you who stand behind him like pillars will be the first casualties once he is declared winner. Learn from recent history. The first time, we did not know him but now we do so he cannot blindfold us again unless we are all mumu heads.

bruno419: who is betterhuh
Many people are better than Rochas. Ohakim did terrible things in Imo bur what Rochas came to do is to show Ohakim that he needs to learn more tricks from him, THE 419 GRAND MASTER himself. He has succeeded but i will advise that he should not rejoice too much yet. The same crowd that shouted ''hail him' will soon shout 'crucify him'.
PoliticsRe: Aguleri And Nri Are Not The Founders Or Head Of All Igbo Communities. by Onyegecha(f): 7:43am On Jul 19, 2014
Very true. I don't understand this fuss about Nri or Aguleri. Definitely, if they migrated from Israel or wherever, they met other Igbo people on ground. So they cannot claim that their land is the ancestral homestead of all Igbo people.
PoliticsRe: Boko Haram: Igbo Leaders Demand Transfer Of CPs In South-East by Onyegecha(f): 8:26am On Jul 18, 2014
FreeGlobe: I think he was trying to be diplomatic. Prof Ben and his group should know we are MORE comfortable with Hausa/Fulani CP's in the SE than Yoruba CP's. I think their statement is uncalled for.
I disassociate myself from this. The Governors are the Chief Security Officers of their states. Prof Ben and his group should focus on more pressing issues like development in the SE.
Nothing is more pressing than the security of life and property. This group should be commended for demonstrating leadership at every turn. fOR ALL I KNOW, THIS ONE NIGERIA STUFF HAS EXPIRED. WE ARE JUST DECEIVING OURSELVES. Have you not wondered how all the Boko Haram suspects arrested in the South East have been released speedily? I support the call by our leaders and wish the governors would not play politics with this.

Shameless lying PDP cankerworms!!

Why should someone in Imo state start complaining of another state governor? Everything is not about politics, you know.

CultureThis Culture Of Lying Flat To Greet Elders by Onyegecha(op): 8:16am On Jul 16, 2014
Just wondering if this culture of lying flat on the ground to show one's respect to elders still obtains in today's world. If yes, what happens if the place where the two meet is swampy? Will the younger person lie down on the moist surface or are there modifications?

in case you seriously do not know, i will tell you just a few.

1. free education is a ruse, more chaff than substance
2. UNFRIENDLY TO LABOUR, OWING SPECIALIST HOSPITAL STAFF FOR ONE YEAR, ibc, itc, water board workers all being owed salaries; concord hotel workers chased out with ignominy, perm secs sacked arbitrarily, etc etc etc.
3. Creating unemployment daily
4 No water and no plan for reviving the water supply system
4. Stupid road works that do not survive one rainy season
5. weak and substandard houses that collapse even before they are completed- 2 collapsed in IMSU, one at Okigwe, Govt house chapel was redeemed after collapse , etc.
6. Wasteful spending on frivolities. Examples abound.
7. Rendering contractors insolvent by massive fraud in the award of contracts
8. RENDERING 27 LOCAL GOVT. Areas useless
9.Talking before thinking, thus embarrassing himself and Imolites repeatedly
10. Enshrining lawlessness and recklessness in governance

PoliticsRe: Rochas Stay In APC Shaky, May Join Labour Party Political Family Meets, As APGA by Onyegecha(f): 8:16am On Jul 13, 2014
You took it right out of my mouth. The wisest thing for him to do is to keep to his agreement with Imo people to do one tenure. Ohakim's story will be more palatable than his if he insists on going to the polls because he has failed Imolites woefully and decorated our streets and avenues with lies and deceit of various colours, shapes and sizes.

eyeview: Let the truth be told, with or without APC,Rochas can not win an election in Imo state again. His switch from APGA to APC only aggravated his abysmal chances.
He has so much been rejected by the people that more and more people are declaring their interest to contest against him in 2015. Everybody fancies a good chance of beating him at the polls. As a governor you know you have done badly when many people wish to contest against you.

Students studying under trees in today’s Imo State

Some concerned stakeholders in Atta Community in Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State have expressed dissatisfaction with the parlous state of Comprehensive Secondary School, Atta, a public school owned by the state.

They alleged that the sorry condition of the school and other secondary schools in the state contrast sharply with the image of sound educational system the government of Owelle Rochas Okorocha has been brandishing in the past three years.
Christianity EtcRe: Fear, An Essential Ingredient Of Worship? by Onyegecha(op): 8:30pm On Jul 11, 2014
Very correct, my dear but the traditional religions also had or have their own fear factors. Is there really a basis for comparison?

Apatheist: Onyegecha, the Abrahamic religions thrive on fear: obey or you go to hell
And greed: if you obey you'll be rewarded with virgins(islam) or mansions(Christianity)
Christianity EtcRe: Fear, An Essential Ingredient Of Worship? by Onyegecha(op): 7:39pm On Jul 11, 2014
Are you really sure of this? In my experience, they carry a heavy load of fear about and that is why every thing that happens is an attack and requires special prayers. Even a dead cockroach or lizard agitates the average Christian. I wonder where this spirit of boldness and sound mind are.

mployer: So wrong.
Christian thrives on experience and faith.

PoliticsRe: Few Pics From Imo State by Onyegecha(f): 8:43am On Jul 02, 2014
Abagworo, having read your posts on other subject matters like the history of various Igbo towns, i have no doubt that you are very brilliant and articulate. You are exposed and enlightened enough to understand what governance is all about. That is why i doubt your sincerity in the dogged effort to defend a government that has thrown caution to the wild winds and has taken impunity and lawlessness to a ridiculous height.

Education, healthcare, water supply, refuse disposal, workers' moral, employment prospect, general welfare of citizens, are all very low, in fact all-time low. I am sure you know this fact yet you readily deploy your sagacity and brilliance to promote a man like Rochas. There is God oo.
PoliticsRe: Gov Okorocha Reacts To Charly Boy's Humiliation by Onyegecha(f): 4:52pm On Jul 01, 2014
There's really nothing to list. He does not know the first thing about governance and hides his embarrassing ineptitude under the cover of hating due process. Every system in Imo state is in coma and you know it.

Abagworo: . Could you list the things you expect from a Governor that has not been done by Okorocha. That will help us understand the reason for your hatred.
PoliticsRe: Gov Okorocha Reacts To Charly Boy's Humiliation by Onyegecha(f): 6:31pm On Jun 30, 2014
idumuose: One of my close friends who visited imo state recently said Okorocha is working oo.He said okorocha is transforming owerri to a world class capital city.

BUT my problem with okorocha is his philandering with Almajiri people's party. The earlier he leaves that cursed party the better for him.
Your friend's view is that of a visitor./ He got sucked in by the abracadabra shows we know our governor for. Truth be told, there is no true development in Imo state. With Rochas, it has always been the more you look, the less you see. I would not blame anyone who gets to warehouse junction and concludes that Owerri has been transformed but just stay in the city for two days and your view will change, especially if you understand what to expect from a governor.

Christianity EtcRe: Locked Up For Being An Atheist In Nigeria. . . by Onyegecha(f): 7:36am On Jun 29, 2014
usba: christians are very good in concealing their evil, in Jordan a christian man killed his own daughter for converting to Islam, in sri lanka budhist are attacking muslims and recently christians, in new york a christian murdered a woman for being a witch etc the lists are endless, it seems the media only finds muslim related story as being juicy or out of a deliberate policy, and hence the numerous evils christians do go unnoticed!
What i know for sure is that the organized religions that came to Nigeria sowed seeds of discord and put a sword to the things that held us together. Catholics were primed to hate protestants and vice versa. That enmity persists till today but is veiled. Christian denominations have been given many reasons why only people of their own sect will be acceptable to God. The same sentiment was also sold to Muslims. Some adherents have taken these ridiculous beliefs to the extreme and so now, even taking the lives of others has become an exercise in faith. Our redemption will come when we learn to query religious beliefs that are not in agreement with common sense.
PoliticsRe: Few Pics From Imo State by Onyegecha(f): 7:24am On Jun 29, 2014
Abagworo: . Unfortunately I'm not working for anyone but my conscience. All Abagworo wants is the good of Imo State and Nigeria and I am highly satisfied with Okorocha's successes in Imo State amidst obvious attacks from Abuja. The most important thing is to encourage Okorocha to continue with his good works as it is for everyone's gain. I'm also glad that he is not making 2015 a do or die issue like Jonathan is doing at the national level.
Abagworo, if you are sincere, it means you are working for someone you do not know. The man is bad news for Imo state. Buildings do not mean development. He is very erratic and shows clearly that he has no plans at all. What is the rationale for the utter destruction of the state library when there was nothing on ground as substitute? Why shut down Concord hotel arbitrarily? Why is ITC ailing under him with hundreds sacked at a time? Why is there no single hospital operating well in Imo state? Why is he toying with our educational sector while constantly mouthing free education? Why are the local government areas in coma? My dear, the list is endless and every well meaning Imolite should learn to call a spade a spade.
