berem: I thought you were supporting him? Why are you saying he is loosing focus? Maybe you don't know who Chino is. Read the brilliant post by B2mario and tell me what he said isn't true. That is because i do not support people blindly. I support good ideas only. I wish you and Abagworo would learn how to be objective about issues. For you two, everything Rochas does is the best even when it is obvious that he is running Imo state aground. That is not right. Okorocha's regime is full of wrong policies that even the blind, deaf and dumb will see clearly. Why is it that you guys can never see anything wrong in what he does? I want you to know that if Okorocha begins to do things right, i will quickly join your praise band and sing louder than all of you. Well, i want you to know that when the chips are down, the battle is not between onyegecha and Abagworo, bestviewer and berem, etc but between the helpless masses and their mindless oppressors that masquerade as leaders. |
Uche4eck: According to African culture, a man can marry as many wives as he can handle while a woman stays true to only one man.If you brand people unreliable because they stated the obvious, logical truth, then you cannot be relied upon to handle serious issues that border on maturity and social responsibility. |
bestviewer: Anambran to live in Imo stateI must say that you are losing focus and derailing the thread by joining issues with those who want to distract you from the expository work you have on hand. There is no competition between Onitsha and Owerri. Each town is blessed in its unique way. This thread is about the deceit in the governance of Imo state, full stop. |
bestviewer: This is the only business that is surviving in owerre...Inasmuch as i agree with you that we have been saddled with bad leadership for too long, i refuse to accept the sentiment that Imo state is cursed. Please don't say that abeg. Our people are blessed with a lot of talent and diligence. UDENWA WAS BAD NEWS. OHAKIM WAS EVEN MORE BAD NEWS. UNDER ROCHAS, BAD NEWS HAS ASSUMED A FEARFUL FACE. He is terrible news and Imo people must shine their eyes and elect a true leader in 2015 |
Okorocha's bulldozers have been unchained once again. Hot Fm is threatened, the state library is marked for destruction(with no alternative location), Lifeline assembly is threatened while some targets have already been destroyed. You guys should look carefully before you leap into a burning fire. Juo anyi(ndi Imo) ajuju azu na anyi si Oru. |
berem: oneAre you serious? You mean you really believe this nonsense you copied from the government site. So so sad. For your information, all those achievements are still in the pipeline. You would have known the truth if you were in the state. I suggest you leave this discourse for those who are on ground ; who wear the shoes and know where it pinches. For the records, none of those water schemes is functional, same goes for the companies mentioned. Most of the items on that list are false claims. |
Bestviewer, you deserve an award for standing up to the professional praise-singers of Nairaland. Bravo!!! The curious stance of Abagworo and berem, (their seeming apathy towards the well being of Imo people) has gone beyond mere gullibility. Something more sinister must be behind this unconditional support of any policy or action by Rochas, no matter how idiotic it is. One thing i am happy about is that no one can deceive all the people all the time. Okorocha's day with justice is coming. |
There are hardly any good roads under Rochas. If we have less than one percent of all roads in the state that can be described as motorable, i don't see how that calls for celebration. I suggest you post the good roads you are talking about, but please don't show us Wetheral road. It's not his project. Show us the new roads he constructed and let's see how they have fared within months. No matter how much you guys try to distort the facts, Imo people are seeing clearly and know who is on their side and who is merely playing to the gallery. |
berem: Chino! I can now confirm that you are the Igbo version of Musiwa. Don't kill yourself over Rochas o! Focus more on Anambra state and her forthcoming elections and leave Imo alone. This thread is absolutely unecessary! What i find absolutely unnecessary is this penchant to shield Rochas' dark deeds from public scrutiny. I don't want to believe that anyone on this site is allergic to truth. Could it also be that the media hype has been so effective that even the best brains have been polluted with these talks of achievement that exist only in the minds of Okorocha, his acolytes and gullible followers? There's hardly any road in this state that is devoid of potholes, including the ones constructed this year and last year under Okorocha. No healthcare system that is worth the name, no good schools, no water supply, no sane civil service, comatose local governments, chaos in the communities in the name of community government council, etc etc etc. If we refuse to speak out against evil, we are just as guilty as these rogue politicians that have kept our country in bondage. |
Cooltone, can you single out just one item on that list of Okorocha's misdeeds that is a lie? Of course, it will only make sense if you live and work in the state, not when you are relying on media talks and hearsay to make your judgment. Imo ship is sinking under Rochas and the earlier we accept this glaring truth, the better for all of us. For your information, this list is by no means exhaustive. Are you aware that Rochas has announced his desire to pull down the state library after having neglected the place and even taken part of their land to build a shopping mall? Are you aware that Rochas has not done anything to address the issue of Irette and other communities where Fulani cattle rearers wreaked havoc recently? Did you see the gory sight of bloated and decomposed corpses that litter the Umuguma specialist hospital carried on the dailies recently? What became of the youth must work program? Are you aware that people are being forced to retire prematurely so that a few young graduates will take their places, and these young people are paid 15,000 Naira instead of the normal salary for graduates? Things have fallen apart, my dear and it does not pay to live in denial. |
It is often said that one should look at the mother of any girl he wants to marry. If he likes what he sees, it's a green light but if not, he should run as fast as he can. If Okorocha is the one that is out to install Ngige as Anambra governor, then it stands to reason that he will be part of the administration directly or indirectly. To that extent, Anambra people have an advantage that we in Imo did not have. We did not understand the implications of the twin evils of Rochanomics and Rochacracy before we jumped into the crazy boat. Anambra people should take a peep into Imo and decide what they want for their state. Do they want our kind of heath care? ?(No single state-owned hospital that is fit to treat a human being in the entire state) Do they want our kind of school system? (Near-zero education passing for free education; a big fraud) Do they want our fourth tier madness?( A recipe for chaos and confusion that has yielded nothing but rancour) Do they want our dry taps or dirty streets and markets? Do they want our kind of civil service? (Corruption -infested, Workers are defrauded, sacked arbitrarily, not motivated.) Do they want our style of contract awards?( Not documented, planned to defraud contractors, substandard works everywhere) Do they want our local government system?( All 27 LGs in critical comatose state) Do they want our youth empowerment strategy? (No employment, defrauded, deceived, used and dumped, pushed into crime) Do they want our pension management style?(Paid 12years arrears on radio, fed with lies and starved to frustration and death) Do they want our policy somersaults, now a culture? Do they want our government by promises? Do they want the regime of vindictiveness?( bulldozers pulling down houses and establishments of perceived enemies? Do they want this penchant for wiping out the projects and legacies of predecessors? Do they want a regime of utter wastefulness and profligacy? The ball is in their court. |
I went to see a hospital with my daughter a month ago and they nearly gave her analgin injection. I objected and they discarded the already set injection and changed it with paracetamol. That was how i got to know that even doctors still dispense banned drugs to unwary patients. We simply do not have regulations here and that is why our health sector kills more people than it cures. |
I will know they are serious when they carry out a downward review of their take-home allowances. We need much more than lip service to address our growing poverty with its attendant suffering. If they cannot go beyond talking, i suggest they should shut up and continue with the mindless looting of the nation's resources. |
When close observers talk about the cluelessness of the Okorocha administration, many people are unable to see through the media hype and other political abracadabra surrounding the man. This is a man who does not know the first thing about governance. He knows how to play the game of politics but when he gets the power he craves, he doesn't know what to do with it. That is why he cannot sit down and do something meaningful. Shortly after he assumed office, he changed the name of his NGO from Rochas foundation to Imo foundation, and quickly posted people from the civil service to run the affairs of the foundation. People who worked in the now comatose Imo College of Advanced and professional studies could not say whether the school belonged to Rochas or to the government. The new university he built with Imo government money in his village now goes by the name, Imo European university. Many have asked him pointedly to tell the people who owns the university but the answer is still blowing in the air. It is very clear to discerning Imolites that this man does not know the difference between Rochas as a person and Imo state. Policy somersault has assumed a ridiculous and comic dimension in Imo state. The administration does not plan anything before making pronouncements. Even children in the state have learnt to take every promise of Rochas with a pinch of salt. Gallivanting is his trademark, but whether it is a ploy to mask his incompetence is something that time will reveal. |
This time he plans to throw a party in each of the six geo-political zones of the country. He has done one in Oyo state in addition to the one he did at Owerri. It's another season of the absurd in the most unlucky state of the federation. |
Nigeria is really a theatre of the absurd. It's only here that things like this happen and normal people see nothing wrong in it. Someone posted a report from Ukpaka reporters stating that the same Okorocha uses the state's money to pay staff of his private concerns- Lamonde hotel and Lamonde guest house. People on this site glossed over it. After all, this is Nigeria where all things are possible. Let Rochas keep gallivanting from one place to the other while Imo state groans under his visionless, missionless, rudderless and criminal leadership. One day na one day, monkey go go market.... |
Please someone should help us tell Rochas( that is if he understands Igbo proverbs) that onye ulo ya na-agba oku anaghi achu oke. If i were him, i would get the governance of Imo right and use it as a model for this new-found love-APC. Imo is yearning for purposeful leadership and our governor has no business gallivanting from one state to the other to propagate his personal agenda. |
Please read this report and get more informed about these free gifts that are by force. " I have been researching the “risks of vaccinations” for the last 27 years. What I have learned about the polio vaccines used in this country is not only shocking but will affect millions. Consider these facts: It is known that the live polio vaccine contained SV40, a cancer-producing virus and for the first time a hearing was held in Washington on September 9, 2003 by the Subcommittee on Human Health and Wellness, U.S. Government Reform Committee Chaired by Congressman Burton (R-IN). SV40 is associated with brain, bone and lung tumors found in children and adults today from vaccinations. This vaccine was used until the late 90’s. Previously in Washington on August 3, 1999 at a Polio Vaccine Hearing by the Committee on Government Reform and Oversight and House of Representatives, the following testimony was not reported in the evening news! I have met Dr. Howard Urnovitz on several occasions when he has presented the results of his research. He has dedicated his life to cancer research and vaccines. Here is a portion of his written testimony: “I am grateful to this committee for allowing me to address the issue of vaccine safety. I am Dr. Howard B. Urnovitz. In 1979, I received my doctorate degree in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Michigan, where I studied vaccines. I am testifying today as the Scientific Director of the Chronic Illness Research Foundation. For the record, I am also the chief science officer of a biotechnology corporation. On the issue of informed consent: Had my mother and father known that the polio virus vaccines of the 1950s were heavily contaminated with more than 26 monkey viruses, including the cancer virus SV40, I can say with certainty that they would not have allowed their children and themselves to take those vaccines. Both of my parents might not have developed cancers suspected of being vaccine-related, and might even be alive today. Government, industry, and medicine should embrace the ethical principle of informed consent about possible adverse reactions associated with vaccines.” Our government is trying to hide behind “junk science” riddled with conflict of interest. Our Institute of Medicine, Federal Drug Administration and the Center for Disease Control all refuse to acknowledge the injuries caused by vaccination. The time is coming when they will not be able to deny their responsibility in the catastrophic rise in illness due to toxic vaccines. Thank God, we stopped using the live polio virus vaccine in the late 1990’s because it was the cause of almost all of the polio in this country since the 1980’s when they began to track it. How did we get so programmed? Could it be that a whole generation of Americans has been told a big lie? The reality is that we are the victims of very carefully planned out conditioning that has been going on for many years. According to Dr. Robert Mendelsohn, renowned pediatrician for 30 years and author of several books such as, “The Medical Heretic” and “How to Raise a Healthy Child in Spite of Your Doctor, he writes the following; “The pediatrician serves as the recruiter for the medical profession. He indoctrinates your child from birth into a lifelong dependency on medical intervention. The best way to raise a healthy child is to keep him/her away from the doctors except emergency care. Most doctors ignore the fact that the human body is a wondrous machine with the astonishing capacity to repair itself.” Dr. Mendelsohn goes on to say, “The first stage of the indoctrination is the well baby visit- a cherished ritual of the pediatrician that enhances their income but does nothing constructive for your child. Well baby visits are worthless...” page 24-24. “The purpose of the pediatrician is to vaccinate your child.” In chapter 19 he states, “The greatest threat of childhood disease lies in the dangerous and ineffectual efforts made to prevent them-mass immunizations.” He goes on to call vaccines the “sacred cow” of modern medicine. Most parents do not know what they are consenting to, just as I believe most doctors who promote vaccines do not know what they were injecting when they vaccinate. After attending my vaccine presentations, most parents will think hard and long before giving any vaccines and most importantly, will make a fully informed decision, understanding all the risks. I believe in Freedom and Liberty. As a parent, an American and an adult, I do not want my government telling me what I must put into my body or my children’s bodies. I no longer trust those who hold powerful positions in our government because I believe their motive is no longer the well being of the citizens of this country. Vaccines, at this time, are the only mandated drugs and therefore, should be proven safe and effective. There are no long term safety studies and the studies the drug manufactures present are flawed and bias. The Institute of Medicine gets a percent of every vaccine given in this country. There should be no financial ties allowed. “When we give the power to government to make medical decisions for us, in essence, the state owns our bodies.” Dr. Ron Paul M.D. U.S. Representative, 2008 Republican nominee for president. 1MCN: @Onyegecha, is there actually any "more than meet the eyes" in this vaccination and immunization? It's this kind of very wrong and obnoxious belief system that has causes the avoidable death and deformation of many kids from the northern part of Nigeria. Have you ever seen these children on the street corners begging alms and the kind of deformations they carry? I rather think this refusal is costing the north a lot and should be stopped by all means. Live is too difficult for able-bodied people not to talk of people with disabilities! |
Well, the reactions are expected because the propaganda on these vaccinations is very strong. I think you guys should read about the polio vaccine and its real nature and content before supporting the agents of the west to force it down our throats. Strong scientific evidence has been raised revealing that these vaccines cause more harm than good and are used as weapons on our people. What the government should do is to conduct their own investigation into the claim and not clamp down on those who know and have said no. Even if it is genuine and good, why must you force someone to take a vaccination? Where is human right in all this? |
When we learn to appreciate truth not minding who says it, truth will begin to set us free. Truer words were never uttered. Yes, Rochas has shared poverty out to Imo people as their national cake. Even his stoutest defenders cannot beat their chests to say how his administration has made their lot better. |
Why? This is injustice. They should stop forcing people to accept vaccination especially when there is a strong indication that there's more than meets the eye with these 'free, by force' gifts. |
Trumpeta Newspapers If extra measures are not taken to arrest the deplorable situation at the Imo State Specialist Hospital Umuguma, New Owerri in Owerri West LGA, patients, and staff of the state-owned hospital would be risking epidemic owing to foul stench oozing out from decomposing bodies littered within the hospital complex. Apart from those within the hospital complex, residents of neighbouring Federal Housing Estate, Umuguma, are also at risk over the bizarre state of the hospital mortuary which has not only been taken over by decomposing corpses but also overfilled with unkempt fresh dead bodies. The hospital mortuary located near the building complex shares borders with adjoining houses within the Umuguma Federal Housing Estate road. Checks by Weekend Trumpeta at the Specialist Hospital Complex revealed that the mortuary seems to have been abandoned as the attendant was found missing at his duty post. Our reporter who was at the Specialist Hospital for undisclosed private functions was attracted by offensive odour in the Complex. The stench forced him to enter the road leading to the morgue where he discovered several corpses littered around. Unable to contain the ugly sight facing him, the news hunter tried to change position but was also faced with another heap of decomposing bodies. While attempting to get close to the block housing the mortuary, there was another bunch of dead bodies littered around. The reporter could not face the sight of looking inside or having access to the mortuary as the offensive odour was unbearable. Determined to unravel the cause(s) of the sad situation, Trumpeta went further to notice that the mortuary was under lock and key without any trace of attendant while dead bodies were also heaped around. Incidentally, our reporter who was disturbed by the scene, ran into a bereaved family led by Hon Jude Ugwuegwulem from Owerri West, who came to check one of the deceased family members kept at the mortuary. Oblivious of the ugly development, Hon Ugwuegwulem who could not withstand the offensive and bizarre sight also observed the sickening development. While lamenting the sad development, Ugwuegwulem told Trumpeta that he has been waiting for over two hours without any mortuary attendant showing up within that period. However, while the discussion lasted, one man showed up claiming to be the attendant. When asked why the mortuary was locked and corpses littered around the premises, the attendant simply identified as Emeka, disclosed that “the attitude of the workers has to change when there are no incentives and motivational tools to undertake such functions”. For fear of victimization or losing his job, the said Emeka could not come forth in his disclosure of the reason behind the sad scenario. On his own part, the Medical Director of the Imo State Specialist Hospital, Dr Andy Ezimefula, who was not in office when Trumpeta called reacted angrily on phone. Apart from pouring invectives on Trumpeta with unprintable statements when presented with the development, Dr Ezimefula alleged that the exposure is an attempt to blackmail him. |
Catherine Acholonu is not and can never be described by any sane person as a never-do-well. She is also not a politician but a scholar. She simply expressed her feelings asa citizen of Imo state. |
Very interesting. Thanks for sharing. |
Kudos to this lawyer. Someone should speak up for us like Gani of blessed memory. The impunity ion the system is outrageous. I hope he doesn't get tired midway. |
Imo deserves better than Rochas, that's for sure. |
Facebook. " Rochas is one man who thinks that everybody else is a fool except him. But that thought in itself is a foolish thought! He has been riding Imo like a horse at suicidal speed. Impunity is a mild word to the criminalization of opportunity tht has become to order of business from day two after the first day of the euphoria of Ohakim's exit wore off. How can he be so ruthless with a ppl who gave him the most massive support ever. Three of my brothers nearly died in Ohaji Egbema cos they were mobbed by the opposition when they went to physically defend his votes. It took the intervention of the soldiers stationed there, to save my family members. Why did they risk their lives for him? becos they thought he is human when he CAME to my family house to PHYSICALLY beg for support. But no sooner did he enter there, his first move was to empower some mad men and rascals in our town and use them to tear down our family houses, and business premises including my mother's storeyed building, our three storied Town Hall, and family houses of half of my village ppl to make way for a four-lane road to drive through to his village. True, tht is development, but when will this gov listen to my ppl's cry and give compensation to those without homes and business premises. Many lost both, cos our village is right on the urban section of town. All those houses were build on the govt approved Urban plan. Rochas has now built new line-up of lock-up shops on the very plots of the houses he pulled down!!!!!!!! And he has the impunity to sell same to those who can afford it at one million Naira a store, while the deprived villagers are left to suffer, or take to begging in order to survive. This is impunity and criminal mindedness at its worst! I know tht he was just using this abortion Bill to test the waters before getting to the real deal (a Bill to legalise same sex marriage, these will of course require to buy up the fetuses to be aborted). The very fact that the West is cutting off aid to governments who reject same sex marriage and are putting unimaginable pressure on the Nig National Assembly to repeal their law against same, tells me that the same West will give the same AID to lure govts (states in Nig inclusive) to legalise all these controversial laws. It is funny and ironical that Chijioke Emenalo calls him Roche, whether by mistake, or by design. Roches only go where food goes, and their presence spoils everything. Ppl are not as stupid as these fools imagine. Just because you are crafty enough to cease the day when the people are crying for change, does not make you the most intelligent man in Igboland. Ijiji na-enweghi onye ndumodu na-eso ozu ala n'ili." |
Kudos to this great scholar. If she gets all the necessary support, Nigeria will soon become a major tourist destination. It's not only Israel and Saui Arabia that are worth visiting for religious purposes. |
While we are still grappling with the blows the English language gave to our indigenous languages, our leaders are planning to add salt to the injury by forcing the French language down our throats to further emasculate our mother tongues. What manner of leaders do we have in this country? Why can't they make it compulsory for every Nigerian child to pass one indigenous language in UTME exams? Why French? l |
This is well written. We are victims, captives of a horrible system and the worst thing about it is that we do not have the platform to take any serious action to help ourselves, thanks to tribalism. I see no hope for this country. |
Very brilliant. |
otokx: Why do some people have bad belle for doctors?I wonder whether you really took time to think before you said that. Every health professional chose his own area and went through rigorous training to actualize his dream. Medicine is not the most difficult course to study. It is this false sense of superiority that is gradually destroying our health care system. |

?? Am telling you that there is no Anambran living anywhere near the borders of Imo state talk more inside it. Onitsha today hosts over 800,000 imolites. If you doubt me go to Drug Mart, go to Awada, go to Fegge and see Imo populations. Population of Onitsha is over 3million., go figure. That is the last thing an Anambra will do.
