change the bride's name to stillwater then we can talk of a wedding.
Please do so. I can't marry someone who i can turn into a busboy with the flick of a wrist. Where is the fun in that? undecided

agaba123:
I guess you guys are not taking her serious. Onyinye definitely deferent from what she posts here. Never mind her nl character.

If not, then she has not had the real opportunity to interact with the real world to see what it means to be on your own.
Don't you just love knock off Dr. Phils? Dont they just tickle your ribs.

Onyinye2 and davidylan

By the authority invested on my, I hereby proclaim them husband and wife

David you may now kiss the bride
Rather have my lips sewn shut with a needle.

@ david
davidylan:
what happens when you both have a fight? Do you put on a stiff lip and ignore him till he comes begging you? what if he makes a decision you don't agree with? will you bear a grudge or yell at him? what happens when you both have conflicts of interests? you'll sit there with your back against the wall?
1. If we debate, we debate
2. Ignore him maybe. . . . but i wont make him beg. But i won't beg either
3. If he makes a decision i don't agree with, fine. If it back fires. . . .
4. Me, hold a grudge? Never. But if you think i will have a kool aid smile on my face, you are kidding yourself
5. Conflicts of interest will happen. The better argument will hold the outcome
6. Sit and have my back against the wall? For whom? Him? Why do that when i can go and read a book or something. I'm no child.

@onyinye2
seriously sweetie david and co r saying d truth, ive been in d system so i know hpw it works, two men can't live iin a house, one has to come down and be submissive and that is d woman,if a woman starts all this rights of a thing, then shes a man,a woman has got to respect her man,and even displease herslef smtimes to please her husband, that is what makes marriage of this days last, that is y your parents r still living together even till date smiley
My parents are different. My father never treated my mother less than she was worth. He was a true gentlemen at all times. They both worked and never put it on my mother to do everything in the house. Both cooked, cleaned, took care of us, drove me to my games, they did everything. My father never expected for there to be food on the table whenever he was home like a cave man, if he was hungry he cooked for himself. That is what i call a REAL MAN. He treated my mother like his equal never inferior. And they both respected each other. He would bend over backwards to make her and us happy. Not by throwing cash wods at us, but just being there. I guess his type no longer exist.
RomanceRe: What Is 'Romantic' To You? by onyinye2(f): 11:51pm On Aug 31, 2008
@ Okija_juju

My primary role is to be me. If i lose myself, what good am i? Everything else comes second hand. The whole cooking thing can be arrange. I live in the states and i live in an are double populated with Nigerians. In fact there is this chain of stores just for Nigerians. I can easily buy all the ingredients and make them. I aint pounding nothing when it is already pre made. No one "has" to be on top. Society made it that way. The whole sex thing was really not necessary. If you want to out sex your wife to death. . . . be my guest. But thankfully i won't be marrying  you and i will marry a man who understands im not just there to be and a sex machine that he can turn on every freakin minute of the day. Anyways all in all. . . . . i will do whatever i feel is right for ME and MY life. Not society or what have you.

I have consulted my father abeg and I have his nod.

So stephen should try Onyinye
strange how my name came into this one. . . .

davidylan:
you have a very thin skin, not too good ah ah.

Let me share with you a little secret, there are two sides to a man you date - boyfriend side and husband side. Dont be decieved by all those romantic nonsense when you're dating a guy . . . soon as he wants to be serious enough to marry you, you'D be expected to play the role of a wife. That is when you'll see the other side of the "Real Men" that you never saw before.
Some more experience is all you need.
We'll see who gets the last laugh. . . .

sweetheart calm down, they r just playing wt u baby kiss
Haven't lost composure if that is what you are implying. . . . but there is a fine line between joking and being down right insultive. And yet those two cross that line each and every time.

davidylan:
If there's any more vindication of the fact that you really don't know anything (no insult o!) then here they are in highlights . . . your own words.

No woman enjoys being submissive even though some may lie to you that they do. Every woman wants to lead too, but quite a lot of real women are smart enough to know that you don't keep a happy home by being trying to be a co-husband.

What do you mean by "i'll just do what i want to do?"  grin abeg come off your high horse, this is not a boyfriend we are talking about hia. Get married first and tell your husband that, if you avoid slap na God save you.
Im so glad that Real Men exist in this world. If more thought like this. . . . . who knows what the outcome would be. I do what I believe is right. Don't need anyone to tell me what to do.

RomanceRe: What Is 'Romantic' To You? by onyinye2(f): 11:13pm On Aug 31, 2008
davidylan:
Listen real good yourself to some gospel truths:
- your average man is not interested in a housewife, its economically unwise in the 21st century.
- there's nothing "complex" about you, you're not much more than many of the women i've met before so what's new? You sound very stubborn and think you know it all when really you don't know much. Take a deep breath and try and learn from others . . .
- No one is molding you into anything, we are not asking to marry you so why bother.  grin
- There is nothing like a "traditional wife", there is however something like a woman who is savvy at knowing how to keep her home.
- no one wants a doormat or sex puppet if not we'D just get housemaids. We need women who understand that men and women complement each other not compete with each other.

. . . and for the upteenth time, i havent insulted you . . . just inconvenient truths.
Yeah you do insult me. . . . . time and time again. Not in the traditional sense, but you do. By you stating "you don't know much" is insulting because first off you don't know what i know nor do you have the right to down pour on my intelligence. Just because im not your average chick who enjoys being submissive doesn't mean i wont be a good wife. I'll just do what i want to do not what some one wants me to do. Simple as that. So by you and Okijia going around stating im a lost cause and basically implying that if folk thought like me there would be no such thing as marriage. . . . if you don't find that insulting, So help you God.

davidylan:
frigidaire is an enigma; one moment she sounds like a really interesting chic you want to meet the next moment you're thinking "errr maybe not". I don't think she needs help, she just needs to grow up and see the world as just more than the size of her father's compound.
Again with the insults. David listen and listen good. . . . you see im a very complex person. Trying to mold me into a "traditional wife" is a lost cause. Because i will never become one or want to be one. I can't imagine a life of being someone's doormat and sex puppet. I'm just not cut out for that kind of life.

davidylan:
because no one would bother getting married.
Oka quit with the side insults.
