The first law states that energy is neither created nor destroyed. This is one reson why living things need a
continuous source of energy (either food or sunlight). They can't make their own. The second law, that the universe tends towards increased entropy (more
disorder) is exactly why living things need a continuous source of energy. We need the energy to keep from breaking down, like when we die.

This definition can lead to confusion(as you all are here on NL) since it is a measure of the lack of order, while we usually think of physical quantities as measuring the presence of some property, not its lack. In fact, the negative of the entropy, the negentropy , is a measure of the order of the system. Here, then, are two more equivalent statements
of the Second Law of Thermodynamics:

The total entropy of an isolated physical system "never" decreases. (Which is what Logicboy argues......)

and

The total negentropy of an isolated physical system "never" increases.

So LB, your definition is not wrong, its not just complete...you need more knowledge .....
