went to the hospital on Friday night and it was actually false labor, doctor kept insisting 36weeks while scan is saying 38weeks... my cervix is closed and baby never engage.... I am kind of worried but I know all is well.

I think you should, cos whether you've enough calcium in your system or not, the baby draws same from your body....For me I have been using calcium as far back as 18weeks and still using same @ 38 weeks plus.

according to my own mathematics not having enough calcium might be the cause for most of the body aches, especially joints, ribs etc and also make sure to always take your drugs

Don't go and be inducing anything. Just a little while longer, May is already here. Just have sex, heard the prostaglandin in sperm helps soften the cervix but it doesn't get you into labour because of the quantity I guess. Then eat pineapple, dates, Zobo moderately it will help prepare you. Then walking also helps but since you have swollen feet, you are supposed to stay off your feet to help with the swells. While laying put pillow underneath your feet and while sitting place your feet on a stool to help raise the legs. Sorry eh! Dont worry God gat us!

Or mamas still in their first trimester what kind of food are you eating? Most times I want to eat out but scared so I don't eat anything that will harm the baby. What exactly can I eat Biko?? Google isn't helping Also I haven't been to the doctor yet because my appt is next month May 2 and that would be 9+6 weeks, being that its my first time I can't be seen earlier , some people don't even get seen till 12 weeks so I'm lucky. I'm only taking folic acid just now, what type of prenatal vitamins can I buy just now or should I wait till my appt and ask the doctor to prescribe?

I had it till I reached second semester but while in first semester I could only take yogurt, rice, chicken, a lot of water and fruits, they were life saver... I am in Nigeria though, I also took a lot of draw soup like plenty ewedu with amala plus chicken , eba and ogbono soup with dry fish... I hope it helps

All through the journey God was faithful, no MS despite d fact dat am a ftm, only dat I treated malaria 3times. Couldn't determine sex 'cos of d positioning for a long time, she was in transverse lie till 36weeks dis got me really worried I kept on praying n talking to my baby as well, by d time I did a scan @ 37 weeks she was in cephalic position already. Again I was tired n couldn't wait to see my baby I started evening walk but was lazy about it, so I started making declarations that my baby must arrive b4 EDD n has to come thru VD in fact Tuesday 'cos one of DH's friend who is my real gee's bday was on Tuesday. Beginning from 34th week I started having dis braxton hicks n from 37th week d menstral cramp keep coming on n off. Fast forward to Wednesday morning around 7:30am I started having contractions felt it was d normal one dat will come n go but it was consistent was exactly 39weeks. So I quickly had my bath n called DH to ask his friend to come pick me up, was even contemplating about carrying my bag thinking dey might send me back. On getting to d hospital around 11am checked n I was 2cm dialated I was admitted the VD examination is painful truely, d contraction kept progressing but was enduring it by 5pm was checked again n was 6cm so d doc said am progressing well so I won't be induced 'cos he was contemplating on inserting d tab. So he ruptured my membrane kai so painful by 9pm I was 9cm dialated was moved to d labour room d pain was unbearable but I kept on enduring didn't shout d nurses were so surprised as to how a ftm cld endure d pain so well was surprised actually 'cos d natural me cant even stand pain for long @ll but was already determined dat it was VD or nothing n was going to conserve my energy till wen its time to push. Felt d urge to poo n push but was told not to, d doc came in @ about 9:30pm there about was told to push @ every contraction I kept on trying naso d nurse said i was only shouting n not pushing dat I should push as if I was about to pass out a hard stool, sudden lay contractions wasnt so strong again as I was trying to push doc said cervix was thin but too tight upon all d kpekus with DH so he had to tell d nurse to add 1ml oxytocin Chai was so scared @ d mention of oxytocin 'cos I knew it was going to be very painful but it helped immediately contractions became so strong again I pushed@ every contraction but I had a perineal tear n was given an episiotomy. I pushed n baby was out was given an injection on d thigh n d placenta was out as well. D suture took over an hour but d area was numbed so didn't feel d pain.Then baby swallowed meconium immediately I remembered ma'am jazzjazz's lo, I got so scared but she's doing fine 'cos doc said staled meconium isn't bad n all was drawn out of her yesterday, by tomorrow we will be having a test for jaundice n God's willing be discharged still not lactating well but its gradually coming out little by little. DH was with me all thru d delivery process VD is painful o d back pain was out of dis world. I bless God in all

Part one
So around early march last yr I got married(did my trad) sum few days to d D-day I lost my mum in-law...very sad... We did d trad anyway and was preparing for her funeral in may...den I was just mobilized for nysc which was April/may...I was posted to akwa ibom...but my husband was based in Benin...so I had yo redeploy in June..that was when we started trying for a baby...I noticed I always had serious itching and have never treated infection... So we went for swab and urine test...and found out I had staph auerus...chai...(warrisdis) ...naim me and husby started treating with a family pharmacist... Took drugs and injection for 10dys...though the infection bav gone ..... Did anoda test it even increased from moderate to a higher level sef...so is and dh was forced to go to our family doc to goan treat ourselves...by den it was late June/early July...(am sorry for the long story but I just av to start from d beginning) our doc gave us medication which we started taking ..I and dh...I was taking 800mg antibiotics and he was taking 400mg bcs my infection was higher...d drug was reacting seriously.. I had cramps,..pain in d sole of my feet...body pain...nausea... Drowsiness... Infact ehhh many fins...little did I knw that I was also pregnant while I was taking d antibiotics bcs I and dh made love after our ist treatment... My sis in-law kept telling me that maybe I was preg but I just told her it CNT be bcs the antibiotics would have affected the baby....we just laughed over it...fast forward to wen we finished taking d drugs...and we went for anoda test to be sure the Infection av cleared...and to the glory of God I and dh was cured of staph but I also complained to my doc d symptoms I was having...after many questions he asked d lab attendant in d hospital to conduct a test for me..pregnancy test...and I waited for the result.. It came out Negative!!! Geezzz I was surprised... How come...?

how una body? hp lo is running around and practicing martial arts...
it rained so bad here that I started having cold.... I mean cold, been a while I had that feeling and the smell of the sand outside was heavenly but I couldn't go out to taste any of it*lols*

To all of the mama who gave their advice, I appreciate it and I appreciate your comments, it went a long way and I was able to sleep in the afternoon cos I no longer feel lost.... na to repackage myself...
I told my mom about it and she said my dad was also like that when it comes to money issues but I should wake him up in the middle of the night and cry and tell him what I wanted.... ok, I tried it ooo this morning by 12am and can you believe he gave me the cheque to pay back the debt cos he doesn't want my bp to rise...
I just smiled and cleaned my crocodile tears and thanked him but I have learnt my lesson ooo

The guy can't be uncountable and trusted with money. keep your money far away from him and don't bother to borrow him anytin again, if not, zero your mind that you will pay. It is time your start drumming it in his ears that you need money for this and that so that he doesn't even get an opportunity to ask you at all.

first thing.... Ajo should not be used for recurring expenses.... so what will happen to the school fees next term? you should have stuck to your original plan to pay off the bank loan.
anyway just learn from this... i dont think your hubby is the most financially astute or supportive person. and he seems he may be punching above his weight and using you for collateral: you will need to break that cycle and remove yourself from any situations he has created.

if he decides to change the child's school let him pay, no be you talk say make e change school, did he not know the money was not there to pay in the first place.

i take it at 4 yrs old your child is in nursery school? if next term reaches and hubby says he wont pay, let the child sit at home ( formal education before the age of 5 at the earliest in terms of schooling is not essential), as long as he is not at an age that he is writing final / entracnce exams or the like. Put hubby's name and number as the contact for the school so when they are chasing money ..... na im them go call.

it also seems its you who has the structured employment ( 9-5 type work) if he is more flexible as he is doing "business". Get him to do the school run.... just get the child ready for school in the morning with snacks or what ever is needed and then you waltz off to work, if he gets to the school and they send them back because of fees, he should take him home and "bond".

these days, It is no longer cut your coat according to your size oh.... na sew wetin you fit sew according to how your material reach. if you only have enough for handkerchief, just respect yourself and dont try to make agbada..... that is my own philosophy in life


I am all for husband and wife coming together to make the financial contributions for the household and for support to be reciprocated however i do not believe anyone should be in debt to support someone who is not financially trustworthy or even worried of the risks you are taking to ensure they are ok.

keep any investments and Ajo contributions private, . use the next one to do something or a business that YOU will benefit from. and pray for your husband, he needs your prayers more than he needs you to keep bailing him out financially, because it will get to a time that he will pull you and the family so far down and it will take the grace of God to bounce back from that.

Hmm, it is well my sister.. What I face atimes kinda similar to this, just that I have not borrowed up to the amount here. I am just trying to adjust. I don't know if it's a crime to love ones hubby and try to be of help. As I dey preg, he suggested I registered @ an expensive hospital, I know fully well that I will pay part (if not all) the money. I am using my discretion now sha. Only God should take total control.
