lol

Come to Ibadan street which is a little close to Costain, ask for Makurdi,Niger streets. They are inner streets around that area. You know Kano because it is a road and has a bus stop.
You don't know Yaba or Ebutte Meta.Stop arguing.
Stop talking rubbish! Ibadan street is Ebute Metta East, but costain is Ebute Metta West. Two different sides separated by muritala Mohamed way.
PoliticsRe: Who Named These Streets In Lagos? by Openbusiness:

No big deal.Just looking if we can get an older person that knows the history of those names.
The only street there named after North is Kano street. And that's because this particular side of Ebute Metta, which is called Oyingbo, the side of herbert macaulay street, Cemetry, Willoughby, Market etc, these areas were dominated by successful market traders, or merchants most of whom ran their businesses in Lagos Island (dumota, Ebute-Ero, Enu Owa, Adeniji etc), and because of the huge presence of the traders, many of whom were big importers or main distributors to big FCMG companies like PZ, Wamco, Reckitt and Coleman etc, many hausas from Kano majorly will congregate there for labor offloading jobs and also security jobs, because many of these traders had warehouses in their buildings at home. Also, security was another main reason, because many of these traders would carry cash in cartons from Lagos Island and keep at home. Those aboki from Kano were good at security work (knives, daggers, jazz and fearless) and they were very honest and loyal. During that time, 60's,70's, 80's hardly will you see house without like 20 or more aboki living there

In Ebutte Meta cum Yaba, there are some streets that are named Niger,Kano,Makurdi etc but Ebutte Meta cum Yaba is dominated 90% by the Yorubas and one hardly see the Northeners.
Pls,how come these names?

P.S:This is my area but I do not know how those streets' names came to be.
Correct yourself! It is not dominated by Yorubas. Yorubas own it. There is nothing like Niger street or Makurdi street there. Stop lying. I lived in that area for 30 years. What you have is Cemetry, Lagos, Ibadan, Abeokuta, Ondo, Kano streets. Kano is the only street there named after North. The area is Ebute-metta East!

I have so many AS female friends, they can fine sha; My female doctor friend comes to mind. We AA have nothing to fear then, oluwamae....... wink wink wink wink
Oga you have nothing to fear ONLY IF you marry AA too. But if as an AA you go marry AS, you have a 50% (fifty-fifty) chance your children will become AS, and your bloodline risks becoming tainted with the S allele genes. AA should only marry AA to avoid stories that touch (like this OP is saying) for your bloodline in future. An AS has a 50% chance to contaminate your AA bloodline, and once it happens, what is done is done, nothing can change it again.

Your sons will never marry AS, but your daughters can? (if you chose to have any) Oh I remember you made mention of bloodline so that only applies to the sons, right? Interesting!
Yes, my sons because my children are boys. I have never had a female child, and I never will. Only Y chromosomes dey my body. I ain't gat no X chromosomes to give any baga. My offspring can only be XY. I don't want any daughter abeg, not in a trillion years cool

VickyRotex:
Both instances are mutually inclusive. AA can marry AS and AA can marry AA.

So what's your point?
My point is marrying AS gives you a 50% chance of giving birth to AS children who themselves will now have this problem this topic covers. Marrying AS means you are creating an opportunity for nature to diminish the genetic quality of your bloodline. Therefore, AA should marry AA only. I can never marry AS. I will never allow my sons to marry AS. If you're AS, gedifok off straight. I will not weaken or allow my genetic bloodline to become tainted with bad genes.

[s]Like I said, it's an uncomfortable problem that will arise

I'm just being realistic.

It may sound sweet now, but when a road has not been repaired, even in this rainy season, we will still tag the government as incompetent[/s]
Are they not collecting monthly federal allocation? Are they still not exploiting the natural resources in their state? Are revenues not still being generated from selling services to public? So canceling tax increases or not implementing penalties or granting limited waivers is what will stop them from repairing road? You're anything but realistic!

Stop talking nonsense.
Much worse than nonsense. It's complete thrash!

izzou:
[s]If the government is waiving taxes, how are they going to generate funds to carry out their responsibilities?

I'm not trying to be inhumane or a bad belle, but these are uncomfortable issues that will arise after these waivers

I see it as a way of our politicians avoiding their duties and maybe chopping money sef throughout the post covid-19 era

After all, if dem no do your road, you no go fit complain because people no dey pay complete tax or some no dey pay again.

Make I dey watch sha[/s]
