Seyi makinde popularity is only in Ibadan city which has 11 local government, the remaining 22 local government are outside Ibadan, talking of Ogbomosho, oke Ogun and Ibarapa. 5 parties collapsed their structures for him in 2019 based on feud with Ajimobi. He contested for senate before, he didn't even win the primary.
APC abandoned their candidate, Teslim, in 2023 to support his re-election, based on the deal they had together. Let him win against Wike and Fayose first, then we can assess him political relevance

Here we go again with the 30 governors line. APC had 21 governors in 2023, how many states did Tinubu win? Only 12 and that's debatable. How many of those 12 were APC states? Seyi has no other option than to move to another party. He needs a successor, and Wike will never allow him to present one in the PDP. It is good that you are no longer saying Seyi will contest for the presidency and divide SW votes.

Makinde is a better by far running mate than Obi for Atiku.

Makinde is less divisive than Obi and he can be the youthful face and voice of the ticket while Atiku aligns the usual politicians in the background.

But Obi as running mate will deliver SE votes for Atiku, Makinde cannot deliver anything outside Ibadan City (not even Oyo state). About 5 political parties collapsed their structures for him before he could become a Governor, he was made a Governor, simply put.
