Apply to all the options, then ask for advice on choosing if you are granted multiple options. I think the other thread https://www.nairaland.com/5296943/general-german-student-visa-enquiries/416 is best suited for this phenzy: Good evening guys, I am a newbie here. I graduated with a CGPA of 3.77(Microbiology). I need you guys advise cos I would be applying to the following schools come next year.
Masters of Molecular medicine at Frederich Schiller University Jena, Thuringia.

Pardon me, please why exactly are you on this thread? Thegamingorca: Austria is not atleast pretentious. They don't expect you to stay back after schooling.
This is not the case however in germany Lol why give graduates catchy phrases to abandon life tocome school and look for jobs after studies to waste more millions to survive and spend in another 18months when behind closed doors you know the tendency to employ is basically zero. Infact there is no hope for what it is you dream of becoming unless you learn language, marry their broads while hoping to God that you don't divorce before 3rd year. Or if for some reason the job you are applying for, there is no German citizen or north American even Mexicans or some from a native English speaking country to Asia equally seeking it.
You are asking why I'm generalizing I'm doing so because the amount of ppl that get these lucrative jobs stay back are so rare that they don't count. The German system literally believes you should be grateful enough that it has open its doors for you to come and learn free of charge and so you should go back home and impact that knowledge immediately after studying.
The only migrants dey want in their nation are asylum seekers and ppl willing to marry their fatsos
If one can save the amount spent studying in Deutschland for masters one would have bought the Canadian pr for express entry on a platter |

I left Rhine-Waal for University of Potsdam. What I can say is that without knowledge of German language, it's not so easy getting a job in Kleve so most international students have to work in nearby cities. especially Amazon in Rheinberg or Krefeld. They pay 11.27 Euros per hour so it is a decent job. The only stress is the distance which is about 1hr30mins on average but you won't feel it since it's not Nigeria where there are potholes, but you will have to wake up earlier than you would have if you worked close to home and get ready to get home late. I'm sure you already know transportation is free within the state as long as you have you your semester ticket. Also, it's not compulsory you stay in the city where your school is. What I mean is, you can stay in a city closer to where there are job opportunities, but also not too far from your school. For those whose priority may be working, this works for them. odimbannamdi: I am also interested in the answer to this question

Use WinSIM. You can subscribe for their 3GB monthly package on a contract basis of 8 Euros. It comes with free calls and text messages within EU. Refrain from using google maps except for trekkable distances if you can. Especially in Frankfurt and its environs. It is better to use db.de or the Deutsche Banh app or that of your state (for example, Berlin-Brandenburg have vbb.de). Chriswazo: Guys
I greet una, honestly. Is not easy making out time especially when u just arrived. Everything here will be acting like film trick but with time, at most 21 days, many of the pertinent issues that comes with new traveler setting down will really fizzle out. One thing u will miss here is plenty time, everything here revolves with prompt time keeping and d way d have been able to sustain that attitude is motivating for me. I miss my boku Nija time really. I am d only black in my school language class, I don't know why. Many Taiwanese, Americans, Europeans, Bangladesh etc, but Africa, only me. Don't worry, many guys, Nigerians will give u "I don't care attitude when u really needed there guidance, I understand, it was so for them, so some things u will have to learn on your own. I realize that the city u are going in would decide if d NSIG group will be helpful or not, in my case, it was not. What am I saying, this doesn't necessarily mean d person(s) are Bad, Is just an orientation u will catch sooner when u arrive, which is "Mind your business" and then "DIY". Good guys de too that are helpful, pray to locate them at the right time and not when u have wasted enough. u see the one that will make u believe he is 24 hours busy, forget it. U will get over it Goggle map will be ur best companion at first, until u master the shortcuts. Google maps will take u on a normal shortcut journey of 10 mins for 50min plus, I believe u know why is so. Now another thing, if u don't have much money on arrival, there are some things u should not waste ur money buying cos u will most likely see them around very soon. Things like Refrigerator, plates, pots, brush etc joor I bought all those here because I didn't have the right orientation about how to pick that. Just be watching around the environments, corridors, staircases and then one big bin bucket outside (don't know how to call it), the rule as it appears to me now, is that anything u find in these places are given out looking for whom that needs it. There's also a one euro market at Redcross, but I would not advise this except u broke , like no much money for new brilliant stuffs .,.... Things are cheap there but i think is ......... Only the bedsheet I got there I find useful now, the 4 winter jackets and sweaters I bought there, I smh don't like wearing Please for the winter jacket, I recommend u close eyes bring out 40 euros, u will really value it than those worn out looks Redcross market. Foodstuffs are excessively cheap here, like same with Nigeria or below that based on economy performance.
The easiest bank account will be Sparkasse but d have about a 5 euro monthly maintenance fee, so I went for Deutsch bank and N26. Deutsch bank has student account that won't need u pay the monthly maintenance fees till u graduate. Deautsch bank also have English speakers in their branches but be ready for the appointment booking, interview and a lot of documents signing which is not so with Sparkasse. Deutsch bank is also in the cash group here, meaning I can withdraw from any branch of other cash group banks like Postbank, Commerzbank bank while with Sparkasse, withdrawal must be from their Sparkasse branch or u pay fees. Sparkasse actually have the largest distribution of ATMs anyway, but I also learnt that Sparkasse Bank of a city say Berlin is different from Sparkasse of another like Hamburg, meaning u will have to pay fees outside the city but same bank, that's ridiculous lol. (I am not sure o, got d info from Reddit).
The Sim most guys used here is Lycamobile, I made an error with the one I got. Their Network is very poor and at times enter 2g but I understand d do well in cities. Vodafone etc de too and okay.
Be reminded of the Europe copyright laws etc, I advise uninstalling ur torrent files downloaded and file sharing apps, u wouldn't like to pay a German or so attorney fees etc with ur student job work. My guy told me even watching porns etc are illegal on public WiFi which is true but don't know if is same with ur accommodation school WiFi, just be careful. Is better to go pay for unlimited data plan monthly than risk their so many rules actually. Live streaming could be legal or illegal too depending on the copyright issue etc. Hmḿmm, Germany is very good and nice but the people can be tricky too, (my German language teacher made that statement and my mind just went to, this their relax student visa and immigration stuff, may d tricky no reach there o].
The language is the only challenge I see But is very surmountable, though I find it difficult to start conversation in it or reply back with it, but just a week German class has opened me up to hearing and reading as well writing the basics. So una get hope. Jenny on YouTube is a good teacher too. U need the language to flex, u no Sabi am, u are on your own honestly.
The weather here is doing me harmattan, I understand that winter is not set yet but the cold sef much. I think if u can just come with sweater and get a winter jacket here is preferable for those entering before Winter sets in. Hmmm, am tired. Please come with clippers guys, come with two round plugs for extension of gadgets. I paid 13 euros just for the picture I attached. These people don eat my money plenty. I be no take the instructions serious o, mtcheeew. Don't come with Rice, sugar, etc. Many things are better here. Na here most of u will experience d true feeling of buying original especially my fellow Aba brethren. Perfume of 3000 naira here d last longer than Naija perfume of 7k. Drinks, alcohols make sense here, not the 95% wey be fake for our side. Stuffs here are standard but a little pricey for fashion etc. Don't buy all those shoes and cans etc except u really know originals and have d money for it, just wear one come here close eyes buy better stuffs. I have never seen a vegetable leaf, don't know why, ugu. The comfort of a room apartment justify d 25 euros difference from the shared flats in my section joor.
Carry extra application materials o, cos many of u will realize here that u have made a wrong choice like me only when u arrive. There are just some things u won't understand at d valley till u climb to the top of the mountain, is still a gain gain if u understand what you want.
I rest here guys, good luck summer applicants. Honestly, like Berliner1 said it years ago and it motivated my spirit is true and very real. He wrote something like this " Bear every cost u will have to bear just to get it to here, no matter the cost implications, it will be worth it at the end". U will recover it last las be it IELTS, Goethe etc, that comment settled it for me to write IELTS, other than that, would never pay 70k for just an ordinary English exam for school application, is worth it at the end. So I hope someone applying is encouraged to do more, lol
NL actually helped me, so this is my 2nd family. I am garnished here, u won't understand. So is no retire for me, should always be back to give back here.
So that's it, I go now.
Tschüss Leute, Safe travels to those coming this period, don't fear with the whole cabin pressure loss etc esp for the first travelers like me. Mehn I hate that thing, Kai. Lol |

Chriswazo: What shall i say unto the Lord? all i have to say is thank u lord, thank u lord, thank u lord all i have to say is thank u lord.
Wow, Brethen, hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm chisos. When God really blesses u, u will be doubting if u are awake, it looks like a dream.
So my journey to Germany started with a post from Berliner1, [https://www.nairaland.com/4462513/life-abroad-worth-stress-hype#66882336]. He wrote so well about the opportunity of studying in Germany, the guy wrote eh, to the extent myself feared this guy is over hyping reality, even Justwise engaged him with some of his opinion, but what i learnt from the whole argument was, "if u can afford 8640 euros, Germany is a viable option". Berliner1 said in that thread "Germany is the best country in the world", and he proofed why he believe so. I call that my burning bush experience, it caught my attention and immediately, i started following every matter about Germany on Nairaland. I delved into the student's thread then it was part 4, i read everything, read the whole of part 1,2,3 and was already feeling naturalized german.
I started my applications May last year, pecky2222 helped me with UNN transcript process etc. My friend and brother [one of my referee also for Dorm acct] Dailydollar helped me consistently with my whole questions especially German grade conversion, i realized my GP was not a good one for MSc, around 2,8. My God sent sister Hadassheke encouraged me immediately to rather go for BSc and topped it with assurance that i would get admitted. Berliner1 seconded her advise, later heybaby12 talked about hers, i picked courage, sent my BSc applications to 2 schools, DIT and Bonn Sieg, d 2 rejected my applications, d first was no IELTS then Sieg said Applied Biology space was very limited and had received thousands of application. I was not perturbed due to, truth be told, i didn't see the possibility of raising the BA, only had 1.5mil in d spirit, at least i now have an experience of the whole process, i made up my mind to wait till next year winter. My survey on Daad site had shown no hope for summer and i didn't want to risk my funds applying to the limited MSc options that summer has.
Mehn story too long, let me just list out my unforgettable experience that solidifies my belief in God and destiny 1) After much persuasion and strife, my parents agreed to top up the 1.5mil budgeted to just work out a Finland visa for a better option of studies abroad but is not going to be Germany, d want USA. My uncle was back February from USA and d agreed with him to help me get a school etc and he told them of their tuition being 10k dollars plus. I knew it was not going to work out cos i can't come and subject myself to the trauma of USA embassy and my inquiry about the school he sent to me showed their tuition to be 22k dollars. Obviously God used him to say the exact budget i would need, not for USA cos i didn't see any in that range. I spoke to the man and get him to have them deposit the 10k with me to reassure us that our efforts won't be in vain. God's grace saw him accept every of my suggestion and he convinced them cash the money to me against their intention to send him directly since i claimed i had opened a dorm account for it, That was a miracle to recieve the cash. U may ask how i still opened up to them, now i told them after everything that the real pic of the school, d tuition was 22k dollars and i also called the man to confirm that to him, he was speechless, that is been very long since his kids finished there, so he was not aware of the tuition which happens to be the truth. I shielded that knowledge cos that could disrupt plans. D have no option now but to encourage me to pls pursue my German dream and am happy i did after seeing d battalion at American embassy and every bad report and discouragement. Abeg kill me than send me to stand for that queue with 1% hope, lol So d money came as miracle, God brought someone to pave d way for me to get my desired amount.
2)My Appointment date was a miracle. I booked Cat B on 10th May and these guys stopped had concluded May 9 since and it was taking them ages to visit Cat B again, mehn i was very despaired, not knowing what to do nor having d guts to abandon my month ship for a new trial that could bounce. Early cat interviewers had no experience of vo asking them "What qualified them for the Cat A", i knew it was normal and that it would change soon but my calculation was from 1st July. So on 7th June, my friend pecky2222 was used by God, she chatted me up surprisingly around 11pm and insisted i cancel and rebook, showed me some little proofs as to why she thinks am qualified even with BSc. I studied her screenshots and decided to take my biggest life risk. I cancelled and use Aug 1st for Cat A booking because i had this premonition that after June, this would bounce, so i wanted June by all means. I believe the white man that gives appointment date sensed my desperation and gave me next 6 days, meaning i must not cancel. I was happy and rejoiced that my calculations worked well, but d joy was short-lived.
3) My interview was a miracle. I got appointment on Tuesday for next week Monday and then on Thursday of d same week, a news broke out here and in all the groups that Embassy has started questioning the category u booked and as a matter of fact, 2 BSc goers were sent back. I didn't know what was going on till i was at the DHL office waiting room for my turn to get the prepaid envelope. I turned my data on, mehn my spirit left me after all that i read and listened too, i called Dailydolar cos i recognized hiss voice, he confirmed and even said he has been calling my number, i asked him what to do, he said he won't advise me to waste my time going, called my other guys, d said d same thing that it was too risky considering my distance and everything. Now i don't even have option of cancelling my appointment since it was just about 3 days to go, going forward no hope, going back no hope again, i died again. I went black, lost in thought on what next to do, then immediately the receptionist beckoned on me to come that is my turn, i told her to pls continue with others, mehn but people kept trooping in and everyone noticed i wasn't cool. The receptionist then asked me to leave, that is forbidden for people to sit here and wait endlessly. I thought of what to do with pecky2222 but remembered she still remarked she is not forcing me o, i should decide for myself, that makes her not liable for any bad outcome. My discussion with Dailydolar earlier flashed in my head and i notice d 2 guys sent back didn't talk about going with BSc, i called someone to confirm if Polythecnic gives 1st class, 2nd class, my guy said no, that is upper credit etc. i approached the receptionist and inquired how long it takes the envelope to expire, she said 3 months and that it can't be returned back either.
I left the office and a thought came to me to call my Snr, pastor cos at this moment, i just need a miracle. He prayed for me on the phone and declared it was a success, faith entered me, i dusted myself cos i had lied down on the road inadvertently during his prayers and even notice that people on the road were looking at me. I rushed back into the office, now the "believeability" unction was on me, commanded the lady to give me the stuff, previously checked Fedex that was near too and theirs were 8k. I went about getting all that i planned buying that day in d spirit of the faith i had recieved. On reaching home again, fear stepped in small, "what if, what if" my heart whispered, i begged God fervently, I begged God so tey. All thru my preparation, d doubts kept disturbing me, from the night travel to everything. i begged God not to bring me back to this Bayland guest house for a second time and He heard all my prayers.
I got to the embassy at 5;30 am and met d hustlers there, but no be for Aba boy o, i know what u know, crossed the USA embassy side, that was on the left but didn't see any German stuff, came back to the gate, re-asked d hustlers there, d now directed me to the right for Germany consulate. Mehn when i got there and saw d German sign post, sth leaped in my heart, i immediately remembered all the AM transcripts and embassy experienc i have read. I approached the security and informed him about my interview, he asked me the time now and it was 5;50am, he asked me to come back by 6:30 am. I just do back the gate and was sightseeing the surrounding rivers, the troop coming in and all of them for USA, i remembered i would/could have been one of them, i thanked God eh, mehn these guys faith was on another level, mine na for Germany level I went back by 6;30am and met a couple of guys waiting already, majority were for short stays. One of them was a prof and he boasted of having UN diplomatic passport, so Germany embassy should not stress him with their requirements. I was the second person on queue for student visa. Wow, here comes the famous Paulinus, mtcheew, one ....... man like that, na wetin all of una d fear. I watched him say his prayers, arrange his seats etc, then gave some instructions to the guys for short stays to be arranged first followed by student visa. I noticed a German man came out with the appointment list, handed it to Paul, and d all greeted d man. It became clear to me that d are truly in-charge and not just Nigerians, cos i have been thinking how Nija full everywhere plus VO naija. D occupy and man sensitive positions like giving appointment dates, stamping of passport etc and leave d normal adminstration work for Naija
paulinus called out the first three for student visa, i was the second. After arrangement, i was the first to enter, the first guy made a mistake with his photocopies, photocopied two separate documents on one paper, Paul was like this original document has no back, so why this. Is important to say here, put ur each photocopy following the original to help u follow his instructions fast. He will tell u his job is not to hear or discuss with u, just do what he says or go out. At a time i was the only guy following the instruction, the 3rd guy packed up somewhere, wanted to explain somethings to Paul, he asked him out. He was now following my next in line doc to call out for me, i had no issue with him but still my heart was troubled as i approached d VO section, what is the sense having no issue with Paul and then d VO bounce me for wrong booking. As i waited at their waiting section, my heart was beating very fast, one lady for short stay had to tap me to relax, that is just an interview not knowing what i was battling with inside. I also noticed that d security man at the VO waiting section will want to confuse u, so that u will appreciate him after interview. He approached one student girl that her arrangement was wrong, something Paul sighted before clipping on. I just frowned my face, Aba boy know wetin u know o, he came to me and asked hope i arranged well, I echoed yes for him, no time to cross check, mtchew.
Hmmm, Room 4 light came on, i told myself is time, one thing is bound to happen and i won't take No for answer from anyone o
VO: good morning Me; Hello, good morning ma, ( with my deep bass voice, may she know say this one serious for am) VO; Ur documents Me; Here is it ma, i handed my passport and Appointment later with my already clipped docs VO; so what are u going for? Me; (hmmmmm, Fearr gripped my heart with that question, i can't cross River Naija, dash Bayland 5k to come here fumble, i muttered a sec prayer in my heart, "God pls remember our deal" lol) Bachelors ma
VO;(She developed interst immediately o lyk play o), so what category did u book Me: (i shouted Heiiii in my heart, e don happen, summoned a little courage and deepened my bass) Category A ma
VO; Are u sure u are qualified for this category, what qualifies u for Cat A? Me; (she don commit blunder to even ask me and not just summarily disqualify me like i thought) I am a graduate of Biology with a second class honors from UNN) VO; she opened my transcripts, perused it together with my degree. VO; so why not MSc? why go for a second BSc degree Me; (At this point, my moral became excessively high cos i kno i have crossed) MSc in ERM is a specialization programme either in Environmental engineering, Environmental Science and Environmental Management while the BSc program is a broad program that encompasses the three facets bla bla bla VO; (she was just nodding, obviously my point was credible) So which school? Me; BTU VO (like play o, she started discussing me with one young girl and she told her my program and that is BTu, i suspect the girl have sth or d kno someone that d programme and school affect) d lady now came to her section, the VO now asked when i applied? Me: i told her 1st April via uni-assist VO; She turned to her friend and said imagine, d two talked for a while VO; So when did u get admission Me; May 20th VO; Ok d application have not closed? Me: i said Yes, til July 15 VO: and how many long did it take Uni-assist to process ur application? Me: As of that early April, it was 2 weeks, but i understand that their processing time has increased to over 3 weeks now. VO; ur Visa fee? Me: i paid 30500 VO: she generated my receipt and did my bio-metrics and asked me to pick the microphone VO: Asked me if i have funded? Me; not yet, have the equivalent in my account currently VO; she gave me two forms to sign about sending my block confirmation and confidentiality of the interview VO; Tell me facts about Germany u kno Me; (i no kno book, no be when i see exam question before entering exam) I said let's begin with the political structure, talked about the president, Bundestag (she asked me to spell d Bundestag president name i mentioned) and Bundesrat, German Chancellor and everything about the federal cabinet. Now when u come to demography, Germany is about 83 million etc and has 16 states and borders 9 countries and is in central europe. In the economical aspect, N/b; she will ask u to take it slow, so is important to use her typing hour to prepare for next point VO; please is ok VO;Why this course Me; i talked about the environmental degradation and pollution in my country etc etc VO: Why Germany? Me: i began with Germany is a signatory to Paris Agreement and totally encourages envi.. (she cuts in) Vo: what is Paris agreement to this now? Why Germany and u are telling me... ME; (i come down from the lofty height i have fired myself to) recited the basics, free tuition, world dlass universities and for my field, is environmentally advanced etc etc, like being the highest recycler in europe etc VO; Why not USA or UK? ME; their tuition, i don't have that kind money VO: Why not Nigeria? Me; (mtcheew, so i decide to study environmental management and i still want to study in Nigeria, where is the sense) aside, our tertiary institutions being plagued with chronic strike, the exposure and skills i need for my field i won't get in Nigeria, (not even her local university is environmentally sound, not even d department sef, mtcheew, i also wanted to uote for her " traveling is part of education, i just say ma i respect myself) VO; what is ur plan after ur studies? Me; the exposure and skills will benefit me to optimally address the environmental hullabaloo in Nigeria etc etc in the line VO; that would be enough, we will get back to u via email, (she gave me an opportunity to confirm my email again).
Security men were all opening hands for bread, me local man have expended much, don't have anything on me
I left with excitement, praising God, encouraged folks like me to try their lucks too etc, mehn not upto, 1 hour, i got a message that a girl was sent back for BSc cat A, hmmm, i became confused o what to now tell people, reduced my voice may e no be say na God just show me mercy na im i go deceive others. Another major reason i refused sharing my transcript here, i had mixed feeling whether actually that lady wanted to just collect my 30500 after knowing my fate or something.
Now something terrible happened, a week after, which was Monday, 24th i followed my friend's leading to check my DHL trach code only to see a message 'information received at Lagos on Friday by 09;46, i broke down immediately, didn't want to tell anyone, i messaged my Pee etc, later i told that my friend that led me to that code, she showed me hers, i noticed immediately that it was same message and that d date was even before her interview, i rechecked my own, this time well, to see that the date too was before interview, that it was just DHL registering it when u buy. I threw away that paper and vowed not to go back to it, i won't come and die out of bp,God forbid.
Coincidentally, I exchanged money yesterday after praying seriously for a reduction in the fx this week following last week spike to 410 and God gave me a miracle there too, u can check abokifx to see this week improvement, i bought euros at 405.5 and access bank said i will deposit 8k first then 900 later, left the whole money with them to do that so that i will return later today to transfer, i got the thunderous AM together with ACCEss bank complete deposit. I saw the mails as i launched my email to ask my alien city if my application has been sighted by them, there was AM waiting for me.
Finally, God perfected it all, i give Him praise for all mighty ways He showed himself to me, i prefer to call Him " THE I AM THAT I AM" i also want to use this medium appreciate some great friends that i met here and have not mentioned hitherto, Aunty Heybaby12, this woman has been there for me since last year till now, anytime i need guidance, she responds promptly. @Adheir, Tobi, my mad friend that singlehandedly piloted me during the stage of interview preparation, i love u bro. @ Dailydolar and Fome gave me the dorm acct reference i needed o, I thank u baba Dolar and president Fome @Hadassheke,@ Berliner1, @pecky2222, i appreciate the wisdom in 3 of u, it actually benefited me. My pastor Rev. Dubus Achufusi (Dominion city church Ikeja) thank u o sir @justwise, my able moderator, disciplined and hard too, thank u for the good works here especially allowing God use u in this part 6.
There is a force called destiny, i believe in it too
At last, i will be free from Buhari, mosquito and PHCN
God thank u.
ps; the write up too long so i can't proof read o, just manage it that way. Don't see myself write this long again here A very big congratulations to you! Come to Germany and prosper. |

Adeniyii2017: Okay.. don’t worry, you don’t need language school, it’s a waste of time and energy. Get an etisalat sim to subscribe night plan, N200 for one gigabyte, you might need up to 2 gig. Download the YouTube app and register. Search “Learn German with Jenny”, it’s very intensive. Download the whole folder of A1, A2, B1, B2 don’t download individual clips/videos, it might get you confused and might not move with the scope. Get a full higher education, you’ll might probably need two and start studying with the video in offline mode. When you get to mid A2, you’ll understand why I asked you the question regarding your “google translate”. Please donate $1 (<500) to her patron account when you don blow either for Naija or Deutschland. Remember, no time. Gods speed. Enjoy. While I agree attending a language school isn't an immediate necessity, permit me to disagree with the part about it being a waste of time and energy. People learn differently and the most effective method all-round is usually on real grounds. It is usually advisable to have a foundation before depending on the material online as supplements. I'd recommend attending a language school to anyone who can afford to (time and money) in Nigeria before coming here. It will give you a headstart. |

Shakitibob0: My people...
Please i am confused..
Is ""Ielts" needed to apply for an undergraduate admission?
My younger brother is in need of this info
Thanks Most likely, but send a mail to the chosen school(s) asking if proof of having undertaken his secondary education in English is tenable. |

odimbannamdi: Congrats once again.
I have got eyes on Rhine-Waal as well, and same course.
If you dont mind, I would love to know a little about your profile (B.Sc course and work experience) so that i can put things in perspective as i send in my application later in the year.
Also, did you have to write the IELTS? Yes, only standardised tests like IELTS are accepted. My BSc is in Biochemistry and I had no relevant work experience so will have to do an internship or semester abroad. |

nonsonnabude: plss opinionator. Is the 11april in university of kassel deadline for enrollment? I had my visa interview on 26 of march though I enrolled in the university of kassel from abroad. But they said once you don't participate in the welcome session you won't participate in the summer semester. the welcome session is on 11 of april Enrolment isn't complete till you appear in person to submit the enrolment request form you filled online and the latest date they told me was April 11th but I think you should write to them. You never can tell. Also bear in mind that they agree to deferment. |

I started this journey last year but I wasn't serious enough with it so I missed the winter window. It wasn't funny then because summer seemed so far away but I decided to enroll in a German Language Institute in my city, Benin.
Fast forward to summer... I got my admitted into the MSc Biological Resources program, Hochschule Rhine-Waal on the 10th of January. I had applied via Uniassist. I studied Biochemistry. I was able to book interview for the 8th of March by past some minutes past 12am of 11th January. Soon after, University of Kassel admitted me into their MSc Nanoscience program but with an earlier deadline and provision to defer to winter (which I eventually did just in case I decide to change from Rhine-Waal).
Two weeks after that, I got a mail rescheduling my appointment for the 18th of March. I was bewildered because I never cancelled nor did I try booking again. After writing to them, all I was told was "The Consulate will be closed on the 8th of March". At this point, I started sweating internally. I wrote to them to rebook me several times but to no avail. Meanwhile, Rhine-Waal doesn't grant enrolment extension and Kassel couldn't extend past April 11th.
On the 8th of February, a friend woke me up for Hallelujah Challenge by 12:23am. Something in my spirit made me check the appointment booking system despite it being quite late (as I expected the dates to have been taken up by then). Lo and and behold, I saw March 4th and 12th. I became confused about cancelling the 18th to book the 4th because I didn't know how long it would take their database to refresh and free up my passport number so I decided to risk using my old passport number. Successfully booked though it didn't feel like mine because I didn't know how to explain to Oga Paulinus.
I stayed awake for many nights after that but found only April dates. I gave up after a while and with advice from a couple of very helpful folk here, I cancelled the 18th and gathered confidence to show up at the embassy. I was the first student that day. Went with my current and expired passports. Oga Paulinus didn't ask me anything about the passport number. I was ushered to very nice dark-skinned lady in Room 3. That day happened to be her birthday (I listened to their conversations in Deutsch). The interview went very well. No interuption, no unusual question, no pressure. I funded before the interview. Let me quickly add that I was able to book that same March 4th for my mum to do her Schengen visa interview though hers wqs after mine. She got the same VO and got her Visum a week after.
Four weeks after my interview, no word from them. I wrote to my Ausländerbehörde and they confirmed they had concluded my matter over there. Even while writing my Goethe Zertifikat A2 exam last week Friday, my mind was on my email. I can't count how many times I refreshed that day. I don't live in Lagos so decided to drop my passport and health insurance with my bestfriend who lives in Lagos.
8:23am on Monday, the 8th of April, my AM dropped. I immediately informed my friend who was able to drop the documents off before noon, with today being my intebded travel date juat to fasten the process. I tried tracking but the only info since Wednesday was "shipment information received." I wrote to the embassy yesterday morning explaining that my enrolment deadline is Monday and was surprised to receive a call from them. The speaker sounded like my VO. She said I shouldn't bother coming to pick it up as it would be despatched yeaterday (Thursday).
I kept refreshing the tracking page since yesterday. I called DHL this morning but was told there's no progress with the tracking because it hadn't been picked up. I then sent my bestfriend to the embassy but she was told she's not authorized to either pick up or be informed of the status. She would need a signed authroization letter and valid ID from me in order to do so. I started regretting not going to Lagos myself today. The lady answering calls at the embassy wasn't helpful at all.
At this point, I just rested and asked people not to disturb me. I was tired of worrying and panicking. I left all to God. 6:30pm, still no progress with tracking. By past 7pm, I recieved a call from DHL in Benin city asking me to come pick up my parcel. I begged the man to wait which he did till I was able to collect it from him by past 8pm.
All I can say is thank you GOD. His ways are not ours. Thank you all to everyone here including those no longer active but whose posts I benefitted from. Special thanks to Zuperyh8, Pompido, Dailydolar, Fluxxyn, Bayomiller, Wealthybae, Waledora... the list is endless. I pray everyone expectant at whatever stage will testify soon.
God bless you and may Deutschland favour us all.
Alles gutes! |

sleekch1c: For real ?? Thanks for your input. When I’m done with this, that reporting must be done, I’ll contact you later on that. This cannot be happening to humans.
When they hold your passport for months, you’ll come back and tell me how many fake visa stamps you have on yours. Try mailing them AGAIN. I did yesterday and I received a call from them saying they would despatch it yesterday though I'm yet to see progress regarding the tracking. I plan on placing a call to them this morning or going to the courier office. I'm assuming you don't stay in Lagos. Going to the Consulate seems best, though might be time-taking. |

Freeman59: Bro my passport isn't expired just yet. It'll expire in November that's why I'm asking if I can still use it Okay, you actually wrote "expired" initially. I'm guessing you hope to do your interview anytime from June which would be 6 months or less to the expiry date so the best would be to renew. |

Freeman59: Guys I greet you all. Please my international passport expired in November. Is it still advisable to use it for my applications to Germany. Most of the schools will be accepting applications for winter from April 15th.
Pls help cuz I don't know if the expiry date will affect my chances at the embassy Your expired passport is invalid and such can't be used for admission and visa application. Try and renew it if you still want to make the Winter semester. |

permsec: Good Afternoon House,
In sending my application forms to uniassist, do i need to notorise the application form downloaded from the university?
Or should i add the documents among the hard copies to be sent via courier service? You don't need to notarize the application form. Just include it to the others and send. |

ARISTOCRATDAMMY1: Bros, you mean we can still apply in September and October ??
My results ain't ready for now but should be ready by June. HND student considering going for Masters A number of schools open admissions by June with a deadline of July 15th. Some schools like Potsdam even have deadlines in September but the main challenge with such schools is that the admission may not come early so it's advisable to apply to a few of the schools which open their application portals much earlier so one can proceed for interview early enough, then choose from all the options granted before resumption. Some still get admitted in August after applying in July and do the interview soon after sha. |
