Never be with a person who thinks they are doing you a favour in agreeing to be in a relationship with you. The guy would do better in being without her. That type wants to do life through you and not with you. God is trying to save him from a disaster, he had better started thanking God for his deliverance and let her be.

The poor needs to pay for the rich to keep up with their life style. It beats my imagination how in their ideas to get more monies to keep the economy going, they are not cutting down on their allowances and incomes to make more money available. They find it very easy to make policies that further impoverishes the already struggling masses.

If you provide those same infrastructure in other cities, do you think they would want to leave their places to abuja? Those migrating to abuja do so in hope for a better life but unfortunately the system was designed to isolate the rich from the poor . Develop those cities around abuja and make it attractive enough for the people to stay and be productive.

They had a treasury DOES NOT mean the same thing as needing your money though. Jesus Christ said those who belong to Him are those who do as He commands. So, you are better off showing me where Jesus Christ instead commands you to have a treasury like the one you described there. grin

The work of the Kingdom of God on earth needs the giving of men.
I can perceive you are not really grounded in scriptures and you are making arguments not because you want to know the truth about this matter.
One thing i know is that God's work on earth would not suffer. Whoever wants to give to his work should and whoever doesn't want to can go ahead but God's blessing in giving to his Kingdom work on earth remains forever.
Whatever we have is because God gave it to us and giving to the church to further God's Kingdom on earth is never a bad thing.
My apologies to OP for derailing your thread

LOL.... you were on about Tithing and I showed you where the Law on tithing is defined — for the nation of Israel in the Land of Canaan alone — and how it has nothing to do with the Law of the Kingdom of God, now we are on to the Kingdom of God. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

The Kingdom of God does not need your money at all. Jesus Christ, the King in the Kingdom of God, pretty much hinted at this when He informed you that you would have to sell everything you have and own and give it all away to the poor if you wish to become worthy of Him. 😁
oh really? what if i showed you Jesus and his disciples had a treasury which Judas Iscariot was in charge of?

That shows you are lying! undecided

Even in Deuteronomy 30 vs 15 - 20, God of Israel is recorded to have sealed the document as belongings to the nation of Israel which He constituted in the land of Canaan of those who are descendants of the blood like that is Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Meaning no other can pretend to the same. For you to assert that the God of Israel did not mean that which He stated in His Law means you don't believe in Him at all. His name is probably just a means to an end for you as it is for most religious folks out there. undecided
‭Deuteronomy 30:15-20 NKJV‬
[15] “See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil, [16] in that I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and His judgments, that you may live and multiply; and the Lord your God will bless you in the land which you go to possess. [17] But if your heart turns away so that you do not hear, and are drawn away, and worship other gods and serve them, [18] I announce to you today that you shall surely perish; you shall not prolong your days in the land which you cross over the Jordan to go in and possess. [19] I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; [20] that you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days; and that you may dwell in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.”

Tithing can never be antiChrist. It's is the antiChrist that fights against tithing since it's a means of financing the work of the Kingdom of God here on earth

ok he has used another person to better himself, why not stay with that person already? How come you are blind to the fact that he would be ruining another person's life in the process? He's trying to have his cake and eat it. What also makes you think this his girlfriend wouldn't be a victim just as his current wife later? How we tend to excuse wickedness and try to make it colorful in this generation is really interesting.
Character is what makes a man. If this lady should go ahead with him, she'll cry bitter tears in that relationship; It's only a matter of time.
Love isn't all that matter in a relationship.

What YHWH instituted in the nation of Israel in the land of Canaan is His Taxation system which doubled as a welfare system for ensuring those He installed as administrators in the land were taken care of. Your tithing system in your religion today manned by your many mogs and gods of men has no connection or resemblance to that system whatsoever. Your religious leaders are merely scammers/thieves stealing from people using the name of a God they have no connection — direct or otherwise — to. undecided
If you call it a taxation system then it should be payed to the king and not to the temple or priest as seen in the bible

1. Um... Jesus Christ did not come to condemned anyone for obeying the Old Law. After all, He too lived His life in submission to the same Old Law which is His Father's Will. He instead condemned those who pretended by word only to obey but lived in outright disobedience of it. Hence the reason why He condemned the religious leaders of His time including their doctrines and traditions. undecided

That said, Jesus Christ called His followers to following a different Law which He came to bring to them, and Tithing was not included as a part of the New Law. So, anyone who claims to be of Jesus Christ but pretends to hold onto the old rejects Jesus Christ. undecided

Handing money to your gods of men while pretending you do so on behalf of God or Jesus Christ does not cause God to change His mind or Law to accommodate your particular foolishness. Remember God hates the foolish and has nothing to do with them. Even Jesus Christ said the blind will fall into the same ditch their blind leaders will fall into. There is no part in Jesus Christ for such foolishness. undecided
Well First of, those people paying tithes are not foolish, God instituted tithes as a statue in the old testament in order to make provision for the temple and it's workers the Levites. The work of God here on earth needs finance. If you read the scripture i shared earlier, Jesus said , they should tithe but not neglect important things as love and justice.

You don't deserve the money but a pastor man who will now use it to pay off his mortgage or even buy his next private jet is the one who is more deserving of it, abi? undecided

For almost 2000 years, Jesus Christ, who never asked anyone for a dime of their money, has never owned a bank account or been shown to have received even a penny from any religious leader, yet Christians(religionists) claim they have given him tons of their wealth by way of their Mogs and Pastors. No be magic be that? grin
let him be. Jesus Christ didn't condemn giving of tithe either ( ‭Luke 11:42 NKJV‬
[42] “But woe to you Pharisees! For you tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass by justice and the love of God. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone.

https://bible.com/bible/114/luk.11.42.NKJV .). If he isn't being blessed in his giving to the church, he can stop but there are people that would willingly give to the Church and promote God's agenda here on earth and God's work will never lack. Some of us have seen and experienced first hand what God is doing through his genuine ministers that some of you criticize. Not all pastors or churches are fake. if you know the fake ones and you have evidence you can go call them out but trying to paint all churches as bad or fraud is pure evil

Please this topic wants to tear the family apart.

We are doing well, each of us earns almost 85k per year, I'm in IT, she's in healthcare, and we both work full-time.
I am a Christian, I have never defaulted in tithing in the last 5 years. Not once.
She says tithing is my personal 'problem'. She uses the word problem specifically. She doesn't pay tithe.

This is the present sharing agreement, I bring 70%, she brings 30%.
This 70-30 covers the cost of living, groceries, nursery fees for our baby, and other bills.
before this sharing, we both bring equal amounts for the house mortgage and the car.
When her family needs money, she insists that we share it 50-50 based on her culture.

For my cybersecurity certifications, I pay from my less than 20%, but I have never complained. God has been faithful. My belief is that my tithe covers for the family.
The good news is that I won a large sum of money from my savings, tens of thousands of dollars. I intend to pay tithe, and channel most of the money to my professional development so I can earn more. I don't think I deserve that money I won, that money was from God.
She thinks otherwise.

What's your opinion?
Is your wife a practicing or nominal Christian?

Ask yourself how much you would be dealing with in marriage to that kind of Man. Let him go and face his wife. if for anything, you shouldn't be the one to ruin another woman's marriage.

naijaking1:
"Show me one school built by Peter Obi" is a typical red herring scenario ----- well known and used by half baked PR guys in an attempt to confuse people.
It changes the topic and modifies the question, and then tries to answer the modified question.

When the World praised PO for elevating the standard of education in Anambra as a governor; a position even Reno or Bwala could not challenge, Reno had to change the issue to "school built by PO", which is different from elevating the standard of education in a state already saturated with school buildings even before Nigeria's Independence.

PO didn't have to build a new school in Anambra in order to elevate education in the state, but he had to equip them better, and he did. Reno couldn't argue with that, so he changes the issue to building schools which wasn't the issue at all.

The more one listens to Reno, the louder his cries for food and help from PO's apparent political adversaries.

Unfortunately, this pathetic situation dampens his logic and some how he thinks our reasoning is also dampened.
people trying to support reno's narrative should be ashamed of themselves. His argument is void of intelligence and proper reasoning

We have seen Governors rehabilitate old schools and still built new ones, Obi had budgets for education for good 8years, he could have at least built one new school. Obiano came after him and built new schools. Stop celebrating a failure.
what was the impact of his intervention in education in his state? Was it significant or not? Was the said state performing poorly in education and in dire need of new schools during his administration? Did you notice, the enormous strides made not just in renovating but equiping these schools? Which would have impacted the quality of education more? Channeling the resources for building new schools into resurcitating old ones or using the resources to errect a school from start to completion?

The good thing is that with that blue collar job you probably look down on, they are able to meet their bills and engage in projects that if they had stayed back in nigeria, wouldn't have been able to.
Yeah it is degrading in the Nigerian context to do those kind of jobs and that's also why those sets of persons are treated poorly by many back home, but over here, there's dignity in whatever you choose to do even in those jobs. many persons in the diaspora can be busy with life and truthfully , many may be going through though times and may not be given to chit chats. these coupled with the time zone difference might be a challenge in maintaining relationships back home. I'll just advice if you feel you are being snubbed, give the person some space. the person may not actually be having any feeling of superiority like you are assuming . They are in a new environment, they also have new relationships to nurture which would place demands on their time aswell. The relationships in their new environment is more impacting to them and beneficial to their thriving in the new country hence would be given more priority than those back home.
