I have blown my shot at having a free life to think and plan for the future. All I think of is my pending doom. I have lost sleep. How do I raise 250,000 naira within the shortest possible time before WASSCE starts (to pay for the candidates money I gambled with). That way, I am saved from my imminent arrest. My saving Grace is that WASSCE may be delayed till a month time, due to late registration process for 2021 caused by COVID-19. I will make the most of the days I have left. I hope people learn from my story and thread with caution......

Because whether you like it or not, some sections of yoruba society are either not in support of this secessionist agitation, or they are on the fence about it, and these aren't even politicians but Yorubas from all walks of life. Yes.

Such people may number in the millions even. So will you keep threatening or kill all of such people? Or would you rather communicate with them to make them see reason with you?

Awolowo earned the right and privilege to be called yoruba leader because he contested for elections both locally and nationally, and Yorubas all across overwhelmingly voted for him, even in presidential elections that he lost. That was enough proof of his general acceptability and endorsement by Yorubas as their leader.

Prof. Akitoye has never been given such a collective mandate by Yorubas. If Akitoye wants such mandate then he should play by the rules and become a 'good' politician (since you his followers believe the current ones are all bad) like Awolowo and test his popularity and then use his political power to drive his agenda.

You sound like a politician.....who is majorly on social media to react and refute to views that are not in alignment with your political party's position......it so obvious....and I don't have any quarrel about your political role on the social media...but I believe it is always good to discus about matter dispassionately than to put some ethnic, religious or political sentiment into it..

We usually feel embittered to be living in the country where some set of marauders, fugitives, wanderers will come to our lands to dominate rape, kidnap, disrespect our elders, local chiefs, and kings...and instead of the security operatives to enforce justice, they turn their blind eyes to their misdemeanors....abba!
After all, Nigeria nation wasn't a nation abinitio. It was a notion and forceful merging of different ethnic groups by the colonial-masters for easy exploitation, administration, and governance....

I saw the pictures. I read the various budget you had sent to my wife. I read the confirmation of the money receipts that you sent her. You’re a man. Would you be happy if your wife does this to you?” He started fumbling. He started apologizing saying he thought I was aware.”


My wife stood there motionless, didn’t know what to say. When her father hung up, I told her everything I knew, from her salary to the car she bought for her brother. I said, “Yet, even your sanitary pad, I buy them. You think I’m a fool? You’ll use your money to acquire your own properties and live on mine because you’re my wife? I hear. We’ll see.”

Trust was lost. Love was broken. We had to find a new way of living our lives going forward. Her father called me every morning and evening apologizing for everything and sometimes taking up the blame so I didn’t have to blame his daughter. I told him, “The emotional state I’m in right now, it would be hard to think straight or think forgiveness. Just give me space.” Three days later, they were in our house. The father, the mother, and the senior brother. They came to apologize. “Don’t let this break up the beautiful marriage you both have. If nothing at all, consider the kids and be lenient in your judgment.”

I listened to them. My position was still the same. “I need time to clear my mind. Just leave me alone to think.” From last month to this moment that I’m writing this, my wife had changed totally. I would give us some time to heal and see what may happen but when it comes to money, I’ve taken the lesson she taught me through her actions.

I am with Akeredolu on this. We are operating a representative democracy, therefore the only people that can claim true representation of their people/constituents are their elected officials.

That's why there are elections every 4-yrs for people to decide whether they want them to continue representing them or not. These are the only people the constitution (no matter how flawed) bestows with the power to act and speak on behalf of their constituents. Not even traditional rulers can claim such authority/powers.

In light of that, Professor Banji Akitoye, who represents a mere pressure group, can only claim to speak for those that elected him into his position, and not for the Yorubas at large. And even Akeredolu himself can only speak for the Ondo State citizens that elected him to lead them till his second term tenure expires. Prof. Akitoye should join a political party of his choice and run for elected political office if he wants the authority speak for his constituents.

In light of these facts, all secessionists should start their agitation from their localities, by pressurizing their elected representatives to do their bidding at the state and national assemblies. Or wait to elect new representatives that would share their secessionist views at the next election cycle.

In response to your epistle...professor Akintoye asked Akeredolu a simple question....the question is this: allow us to have a 1 million man rally in your State and see if Ondo people are behind your vituperation statement or not...if you can remember ..... the #endsars movement started with a few members of a group who are fed up with the situation of this country.
