The East is already filled to the brim with Aboki. All tricycle and okada riders even in the villages now are aboki. All construction engineers, traditional wears tailors and agbo sellers in the east are Yoruba. Personally, i don't think its a bad thing. Let people learn about their fellow countrymen. When the children of these abokis grow up in the East and speak Igbo language, they will see that the Igbo people they are told by their parents and uncles as being " bad" are just normal decent people like everyone. |
Some people are already urinating on themselves just on this rumour. ![]() |
All these faceless ediots using social media to abuse people. Obiano's wife is one of the most effective and compassionate first ladies in Nigeria. She used her CAFE project to rehabilitate the mentally challenged and destitute roaming the streets, build countless houses for widows and poorest of the poor. Not to mention her effort to ensure that every market in the state has a toilet with standby borehole to guarantee its cleanliness. The ediot going around social media to tarnish the woman's image due to the rumoured interest in a senatorial contest is on a long thing. If she truly wants to contest, she will easily win due to her many acts of mercy to the poor and massive goodwill among the people. |
Ceegar01:The same faceless Marilyn Oma Anona has been on a campaign of calumny against the Anambra International Airport in Facebook and Twitter since june 2020. Go and read her multiple Facebook posts against the Anambra International airport from 2020. She rejoiced so much last October when the airport was denied flights on its inauguration day. Please note that nobody is against constructive criticism to improve the quality and functionality of the airport. But there are people who for their own personal reasons believe Anambra should perpetually have no air access. They have been unable to hold their grief and massive disappointment that the Anambra International Airport project was completed with installation of top notch aviation facilities at par with international airports abroad. So now, they criticize the staircase, doors, chairs, public address systems, gate fee or railings since calling the building a warehouse or criticizing the runway, car park or fire station has woefully failed. Funnily , the same Facebook individual that wailed about Anambra airport being unnecessary and unviable, hailed Ebony airport as being totally appropriate and viable at the same time. ![]() Go figure. |
[s] abuzz33:[/s] Now, I totally agree that you deliberately give deceptive advice. How many open air concerts have you seen in Nigeria even in Lagos or Abuja? How many hotels in Awka are of Agulu Lake standard to accommodate10,000 guests? The Awka International convention center was designed with a foyer front area with sitting capacity of 2,000 guests for outdoor events. So why use the area mapped out for a 4 -5 star hotel for another "outdoor" event area when we know such will rarely happen if ever. Typical outdoor events in Nigeria are church crusades that typically occurs in their prayer mountains , open school soccer fields/playground or in community squares etc. Moreover, the best hotels in Awka which are the new Bon Hotel, Maxbe, Geneva hotel, parktonian and Geogold hotels cannot compare to the Agulu Lake hotel in style and comfort of a well built hotel. Their combined capacity can barely accomodate 950 guests not to nention 10,000. The Awka International Conference Center deserves a stand-alone 4 star hotel whose staff would also maintain the edifice as part of the hotel complex. |
redPUSSY:Just imagine the thunderous laughter this statement will stir among the Koreans! ![]() |
AdJosh:Fantastic update! Obiano finishing very strong! |
Pass11:So glad about this housing estate. I pray more like that are set up in different areas in the state capital to help boost growth of real estates in Abakaliki. |
shortIGBOman:You are a funny lunatic to be asking such question. Since na your papa build the 3 flyovers in Awka, the oil well bridges and too many roads to mention. Including a 6KM dual carriage way to the new international airport. |
investnow2013:Fantastic news! To God be the Glory! God bless Willie Obiano for his hardwork towards ensuring this airport becomes a truly international facility. |
ANSMEDIA:Fantabulous!!! Soon all the restrictions on aircraft type will be removed. So that the lobby of Foreign airlines to consider the route would begin. If one European airline considers the airport, that will be all the boost it needs for now. Even if Air France combines its half-empty Lome -Paris route into Paris- Anambra-Lome, it will be fantastic for the airlines in terms of passengers and for the airport to have access to a major European city! Brussels Airlines, Lufthansa and Turkish airlines are other European carriers that could consider the airport to improve their passenger volume. Air Peace already has plans to service the China/India far-east route from the airport. |
IGBOSON1:Thanks bro, I won't post anything with the thumb again. ![]() |
Chikeluba25:The airport is truly world class and of international level. When they finish fitting the escalators and others, it will truly be a masterpiece!
|
hammer567:Thanks bro. No hard feelings at all. You are right, Igbo bu ofu! The same way i root for Enugu is same way i would root for Anambra , Asaba or Owerri airports. Your enemy does not make a distinction, so why do you discriminate amongst fellow Igbos? I made a video of the new airport during my trip. As if i knew someone would challenge they werent my pictures. So i occasionally put my thumb in front of the camera so i can prove they are my personal pictures. Its hard to get all my travel videos, but i will get some relevant ones here. I will snip and post some of them that didn't show my family here to illustrate the point i wanted to make in the video. Believe me, i was amazed st Anambra airport. It is truly of International standard. Mind you i flew there from Abuja and it still felt very modern landing there! My only regret is that the ceiling steel works were left in their original raw grey color. Which made the airport appear somewhat uncompleted. But as far as technical design and being at par with other international airports, they are totally on point with that. |
basilo101:Watch my thumb. I will still post my pictures of Anambra airport to show you they are my pictures. ![]()
|
basilo101:Shame no dey catch you? You are comparing Anambra airport that is barely up up to 1 year old to the star airport of Turkey? What happened to Nigeria's star airports at Abuja and Lagos that have existed for donkey years and cost far more in expenditures than Turkey's. You guys are truly shameless. In the next 2 years, Anambra International Airport will probably be more beautiful than Turkey's and you know it. Thats why you are so restive about it. |
leicestercamper:Its clear its envy that motivates him But, don't hit him below the belt by mentioning Enugu. Even though everyone knows his anger towards Anambra airport is that he fears it will shadow Enugu airport soon. |
leicestercamper: ![]() You have hit him below the belt. |
basilo101:Your problem is an innate hatred for Anambra. You just want to discredit the state. That is why you don't want to believe it managed to build a very modern edifice. So you reject all evidence to the contrary that the terminal building design is in line with best global practices |
leicestercamper:Gbam! |
basilo101:I forgot to take pictures of the roof at Atlanta airport when i was there. I will do it when i pass there again and post it. Perhaps then, you will understand that the steel work at Anambra airport is in line with international best practices for modern airport terminal buildings. O just think the idea of leaving the steel in its original color when they purchased it makes the airport look uncompleted. I know someday someone will finally paint it so that it does not look tacky in the gray color. |
basilo101:I will post another airport with exactly Anambra airport ceiling and you will see it yourself. By the way, the Istanbul airport ceiling is also steel. If they left it on grey or red color of the initial steel color, it will be a stark contrast to the white walls. But they blended the color with the color they used for the wall and made it look outstanding with the off-white shades of paint they used on the steel ceiling. |
hammer567:All i want is for it to be sprayed with white paint to blend well with the walls. Even the international airport here in Charleston North Carolina has exactly the same steel works in some sections. Same with some terminals at Atlanta airport. They just use the proper shade of off-white color to ensure it blends well with the wall. If they blend the ceiling color and the walls color at Anambra airport, you will be shocked at its beauty. |
hammer567:Exactly! |
basilo101:That Anambra International Airport ceiling is a very modern airport design. Travel around the world and see exactly the same ceiling design of steel works in many modern airports. Nigeria still builds block and mortar analog design, so most of you don't even know the world has left the 1960s and 1970s airport design that you guys are used to in Africa. Even the modern Istanbul airport ceiling is made of steel . Designed like wings of a plane. Just that it was painted white to blend with the walls. If the ceiling steel works at Anambra airport were white to blend with the walls. You would marvel at the sheer modern beauty.
|
Zssk0003:Obiano has really tried. But it does not mean that folks should be posting pictures of Heathrow and asking Obiano to match it within 2 years! What about Nigeria matching Istanbul airport with Abuja or Lagos? This is Istanbul airport that i passed during the festive period. I was too ashamed for Nigeria!

Chikeluba25:I agree with your point that most times our people do not care about the pain they cause to ordinary people. The way IPOB says "to hell" with the people and their pains, that sorry attitude is causing them to lose grassroots support. The biggest problem with IPOB is that it is constituted by a bunch of illiterates and societal outcasts. Don't get me wrong, their cause is just and they deserve to live in freedom as equal citizens of Nigeria. But the attitude of IPOB to the citizens they purport to fight for is truly regrettable. IPOB's lack of knowledge or ability to research how freedom fighters around the globe succeeded makes them not think and act strategically while nursing a deep-seated grudge against society. Thus, they feel they have the power to inflict pain on society. Of course, the Fulani-dominated DSS and army are also helping them to cause pain to the society. In fact, IPOB acts like a group manipulated by Fulani moles embedded in its decision-making ranks of the organization. Most of their strategies are daft and seem to be targeted only against Igbos. IPOB operatives are too cowardly to disturb a Fulani man running around with cows on their sit at home day, but will gleefully attack a 75 years old lady being driven to see her doctor for a morning lab test. While some of these things may be carried out by DSS people disguised as IPOB members, the inability or reluctance of IPOB leadership to heavily condemn such actions makes them appear complicit in it. |
ChimaAdeoye:Agreed. The cargo facilities are just as important too. The reason we call out these things is that they will help make the airport viable and grow to its desired potential. Obiano already spoke about these things and the need for an airport road from both the Nsugbe and Umueri ends of the airport. In that way, people living in GRA Onitsha or 3-3 can easily access the airport via Nsugbe road. In that way, accessibility to the airport is always guaranteed. Obiano is known for high-quality work and striving hard to do everything properly as it should be. That is why he took the pains of installing runway Cat 2 center lights when almost every other Igboman alive would do the easier & cheaper thing of installing only the runway edge lights to make it a Cat 1 runway lighting design. Instead of the hard work of drilling a completed runway to install the runway center lights as originally designed. If Obiano were to continue in office, it is sure that he would build the Nsugbe airport road as he did the airport road to Umueri. He would definitely make sure things are done properly to international standards. But we have a new government with a new set of people that might view multiple access roads as a "luxury" and a waste of money since there is already one main access road. The same way they would view completing the parallel taxiway and a new Cargo terminal as luxuries. Since they can always "manage" using the passenger terminal for cargo operations and use the runway for taxiing. That is the concern why these things are being called out.
|
Hopefully, this year, they will complete the Parallel taxiway of the airport. To ensure that as it gets more airlines and becomes busier, planes do not have to be asked to hold for too long in the air due to planes using the runway for taxiing. I am happy with the spacing between the runway and the proposed parallel taxiway. It will ensure that a B747 can be on the runway and another B747 on the taxiway at the same time without the tip of their wings ever coming in contact. That is the correct spacing for true international airports abroad.

lalasticlala:Despite the contrary propaganda, it is very clear that the Nigerian army has lost the initiative and is being routed by ISWAP! Some people will still come here to downplay the clear fact that ISWAP is powerful enough to now attack military facilities with reckless impunity. |
Soludo's first appointments are quite disappointing! Why not look for real Anambra technocrats that will assist him instead of some failed career politicians like Ezekwesili? Does he think Career politicians will ever prioritize the good of the state over their own political ambition and personal gains? This is a very sad warning sign! |

Soludo Secretariat: I hope Soludo will not become another Mbadinuju that will prioritize making the political godfathers of Anambra state not to criticize him than prioritizing infrastructure and projects delivery. One thing everyone agrees about Obiano is that he was his own man. He came in despite not being a career politician and prioritized the transformation of Anambra over pleasing the powers that be. Of course they hated him and maligned him in the media. But in the end, his massive transformational projects endeared him to the people and gave him a 21/21 victory WITHOUT A GODFATHER! SOLUDO MUST KNOW THAT ANAMBRA PEOPLE WILL KICK HIM OUT IF HE DOES NOT PERFORM! ALL THESE GODFATHERS WILL NOT SAVE HIM! |
