hammer567:At least, I am working for the good of my state and the overall good of Igboland by extension. ...and doing it all the way from the United States! You left your state and came to Anambra to do IPOB and ESN. Endlessly arguing for IPOB ideology in Anambra thread instead of IMO or Abia thread! The funniest part is that you shameless people have the effrontery to demand what the elected Anambra leaders must do for IPOD. After doing all in your power to frustrate elections in my state! I don't have time for you IPOB pigs! I also will not be responding or joining issues with half illiterates that don't know when to use uppercase in a sentence. SMH. Ndo nu! |
Ceegar01:Well, it's not as if Obiano was building Uyo stadium. He wanted to build this project between September to December last year. The Monimichelle guy vanished into thin air for most of this year. Only coming back in August! If you watch NedMedia's video shot earlier this year, @ 22:00 you will see Monimichelle abandoned the project from January 2021! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2w17IkVki4&t=1413s |
I love the fact that Obiano commissioned this project on December 28th, 2021 as promised. As he already indicated, whatever work is still outstanding will continue after the commissioning. This means the car park and other works can continue. Monimichelle really delayed this project hoping for endless contract reviews, and almost messed Obiano up. Using the oldest trick employed by a typical Nigerian contractor which is to give a litany of excuses why nothing was done so as to endlessly delay the completion of a project and thus demand upwards review of contracts due to inflation. My regret is that Monimichelle was rewarded by giving them the maintenance contract for the pitch. Hopefully, they will acquire adequate land along the new Anambra Intl. airport dual carriageway to build the Olympic Anambra international stadium. That site will be the best location for the state's Olympic stadium as it will be easily accessible and almost equidistant from Awka or Onitsha. The Awka City Stadium will continue to be used for sports development for the number of years that the new state Olympic stadium is under construction. Like Ebonyi state is building its Olympic stadium in the Ochiudo city even though it has a basic stadium within Abakaliki city. It will cost about the same to build the Anambra international stadium, than to add up to 30,000 sitting capacity in the Awka City stadium. Moreover, it allows Anambra to have a standard stadium in Awka and an International Olympic stadium for hosting major sporting events in one arena.

ChimaAdeoye:If they are just going to buy two screens, for now, 50" screens might be too small. They could attempt bigger screen sizes so that many people can view one giant screen from afar. I like the idea of using local farmers to do the landscaping. It will definitely save costs and create jobs. They should maintain a landscaping team to continuously tend the grass, flowers, and palm trees they planted. Some of the trees in the car park are already dying. There should be someone to water them until they have survived long enough to be able to grow without much nurturing. I think they should also use POP to cover the exposed metal surfaces of the superstructure. Although, I think they will do that after installing and welding all the signs and screen holders.
|
Awka City Stadium to be commissioned for public use soon - Obiano.
|
Although it is often hard to impress our people on the importance of landscaping, one hopes they will extend landscaping to all the open areas around the taxiway and runway. Not just that grass will prevent erosion from developing around the runway or taxiway, grassing all the open areas will immensely beautify the airport and reduce dust and haze at the airport.

It's been a very long time since this store had been on their hit list. Peter Obi should know that this investment was targeted to either go up in flames or be demolished by FCTA under the guise of distortion of Abuja master plan. At least now they achieved its destruction without any lawsuit |
achi4u:God bless Gov Dave Umahi for his service to Ebonyi state and Igboland in general! I cannot thank the dude enough for his transformational projects. God will help him to finish strong especially with the delivery of the airport next year. It will be the most transformative single event since the creation of Ebonyi state. Tourists can fly into Ebonyi to visit the Afikpo beach as well as local and international businessmen can access Abakaliki without fear of being kidnapped traveling on Nigerian interstate roads. The economic effect of the airport on Ebonyi state will be unquantifiable. The airport will totally transform Ebonyi state and make it highly attractive to investors upon completion. I cannot thank Dave Umahi enough for the courage to start the massive project. I hope he gives it a proper priority amongst all his projects to ensure it was completed under his tenure and not left for the next administration to become an abandoned project.

Pass11:Excellent! Thank God it wasn't true. Thanks for confirming it was all fake news probably planted by political opponents |
Pass11:Sir, We are all praying the project will be delivered next year as promised. The inquiry was if it was fake news that the terminal building superstructure collapsed or not. I'm not doubting Umahi's prowess as a standard engineer. |
Pass11:I got highly disturbing news last week and I have been looking for the Ebonyi state government to refute that claim and it never did. Is it true that there was an accidental collapse of the ongoing airport terminal building which sadly resulted in the death of six construction workers? Can someone please post a video to refute the social media gossip or at least explain the true nature of the accident? Of all Gov. Dave Umahi projects, the ongoing Ebonyi airport is the one that I believe holds the potential to transform the entire landscape of Ebonyi state. That is why I'm more concerned about that project than any other of his fantastic achievements.

ChimaAdeoye:Absolutely on point. Even though I'm not one of those that will advise the use of scarce resources to build huge stadia that will NEVER be filled to capacity. The South African world cup stadia are still wasting away after billions of dollars that it cost the country. However, instead of adding more construction to the Awka city Stadium, It might just be a difference of N150 - N200 million naira between adding a 30,000 sitting capacity in the Awka Township stadium phase 2, than constructing a brand new 30,000 sitting capacity Anambra international stadium for the state at the new airport city! I hope the state government will acquire the land along the new airport road now for the brand new Anambra international stadium with all sporting facilities within the sports complex. The project can be phased over several years so that it does not negatively impact other more important industrialization efforts.

If only one stretch of road in Nsukka is the reason for the massive debt, then Ugwuanyi must be held accountable! |
Why focus on Ogun state alone? Ogun state has not borrowed as much as many other states in Nigeria that borrowed massively and yet no projects to show for all the money! We MUST probe all these loans taken by both Federal and State governments!
|
Lets discuss like mature adults. |
Ogbuefi2020:Why do you guys always think nobody has access to Microsoft excel to type any crap they like as debt of states and post it to misinform folks? Why don't you always provide a credible source so that people will see it from a credible source like NBS? I can also type in my own excel and say Enugu state owes 7 trillion naira. Does it make it true just because I typed it and posted it? SMH |
All that is left now is to increase the sitting capacity of the Awka City stadium and complete the car parks according to the specifications of the second phase. No need to start replicating sporting facilities again because Anambra already possessed all sporting facilities at Alex Ekwueme Square to host any national or international games.
|
There is no way Anambra would have hosted a huge sports event as the 2020 Nigeria Police games if it did not have all the sporting facilities. Very soon, the state will also possess a FIFA standard stadium to host FIFA soccer events such as international matches.
|
abuzz33:Oga, Say what you know. Anambra already has a sports Arena with all sporting facilities. From Volleyball, Olympic swimming pool, basketball etc. The ONLY sports facility lacked was a FIFA standard stadium for soccer and athletics events. That is why last year's Police Games hosted by the state only used Rojenny stadium for soccer and athletics events. After the event, Obiano promised to build a FIFA standard state stadium in the state, as well as launch a state male and female football team. 1. Anambra Bombers (Male football team) 2. Anambra Babes (Female football team). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BFYGq1pYI1o https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0IUC8fCqn4

chiefobdk2:I don't think they are hyping the Awka Millenium City. I think the project facilitators have planned a truly world-class city there. I am watching to see the Awka Millenium city, HELIU Gardens and Enugu Golf & Centenary city which will become the true choicest city in the southeast and south-south region. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KEMlf_e24J4 |
Ceegar01:This is the first phase of the stadium. Which is to create a FIFA standard pitch, Floodlights, Public address systems, and able to transmit LIVE matches from the stadium will be completed this year. The second phase of the project is focused on increasing the sitting capacity. I prefer the phased construction approach so that the stadium can continue to be used for sporting events and sports development in the state, while more pavillions are gradually added. Than to leave it abandoned for 10 years until a 30,000 - 50,000 Pavillion is completed. Like many stadia in Nigeria today. |
Awka City Stadium to be inaugurated on December 28, 2021! - Obiano https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYAkyaDPeX8

AllahIsSatan:In Nigeria, he will be court marshaled and thrown into the guardroom for disrespecting the zoo army. These little things are tell-tale signs that Nigeria is not a country interested in the happiness of anyone other than the thieving political class. |
MelesZenawi:I can reveal to you free of charge that IPOBs global financial network are still intact. All the Fulani herdsmen, army and DSS childish propaganda that ESN are cannibals and unknown gunmen is TOTALLY ineffective. You guys can continue burning people's houses in Izombe, Awo or Barr Ejiofor's home and say its ESN. Nobody in the entire world is decieved one bit that the perpetrators of these crimes are Fulanis in Nigerian security forces. The grudge any of us have with IPOB is simply on the tactical duties of ESN. Some of us strongly believe that Biafrans MUST have the freedom to hold political opinions and religious beliefs without any fear. I don't like APC, but Biafrans that love them should not be made to live in fear. The same way Biafrans who are jews or Muslims cannot be discriminated on. While i understand there are some criminal elements who infiltrated ESN. Your FG masters silly attempt to frame IPOB or ESN by killing people and forging stories or videoed "confessions" is an indication of your childish mindset. No fool in the world is deceived about the activities of Fulani militias in the south-east zone under the guise of Nigerian army and DSS. If you doubt me, ask your ambassador to sample US diplomatic intelligence on who is behind the killings in south-east Nigeria. Even North Korean government does not indulge in the type of extremely childish propaganda of Nigerian federal government. I don't even think that the Nigerian federal government understands the word "duress". So let them stage more drama to discover where IPOB stationed people who would be suicide bombers or who would be blamed for the bombs the army and DSS would be planting to kill Igbos. Nobody is fooled one bit with these silly dramas. I truly don't have time to join issues with hateful abokis who are sworn to destruction of Ndigbo. A typical aboki does not care about Igbo life. That is why you use the strategy of killing innocent people in the east.. But i just want to let you know that your cover is already blown. So quit trying. |
Landmack:Yes, I contributed MONTHLY to IPOB financially for so many years! In fact, many people here know me as the person that reminds them to pay their monthly dues. Infact, another member of the forum here started contributing because I persistently urged her to contribute to the safety of our region by supporting the ESN vigilante. The only reason I stopped contributing was using ESN to stop elections in Biafraland. Which is TOTALLY against their one and only role of securing our forest from the rampaging herders killing farmers and raping our women. The politics of election or no election in Biafraland should be decided by our people and not anyone abusing the ESN mandate to scare our people from participating in elections if they choose to. That was an unpardonable redline that forced my withdrawal from IPOB. It underscored that some people could also abuse the ESN mandate and turn it into Boko Haram if they felt that is where their interest was. |
BKayy:In the past, one used to be saddened with stuff like this. These days, it gladdens me so much! You know, Igbos are one of the most stupidly stubborn groups in the world. So, I have seen that their nature is neither to learn from the experience of their parents nor the experience of other Igbos. For them, personal experience is the best teacher. So, let them suffer the bitter personal experience and learn the hard way. I heard some of them went back to buy lands where some of their fellow Igbos buildings were knocked down in Lagos! Okay, like the person re-selling your brother's land to you is so brain dead that he does not know you are also Igbo abi? In your mind, you are buying an Imo man's land or Anambra man's land, but you forget that the person selling the land to you sees you all as 'IBOS"! In a few years' time, when they return with bulldozers to knock down the same buildings, you will start making videos again calling on southeast governors to scold the Lagos state government not to knock down your buildings. They suddenly realize too late that they are not Imo, Anambra, or Ebonyi, that they are simply "IBOS"! You can just see that sometimes, they simply deserve the hard lessons they are taught so that they will be a little tactful in Nigeria. I love the saying below because it's precisely an accurate depiction of our people's deep sedation and lack of awareness of what "One Nigeria" is really about.
|
MelesZenawi:Aboki, gerra here! I was talking to Ndigbo not umu anofia. |
BKayy:I need to buy you a bottle of Hero beer! One thing about the Igbo person is that he/she desperately wants to be accepted as a "Nigerian" if there is any true word as "Nigerian". However, whether they pretend or are genuinely ignorant about what Nigeria truly is about, they will all get the same treatment by Nigeria.GUARANTEED! So it is better to understand Nigeria and act according to the realities than play ostrich all the time. Igbos are the only ones that carry the "One-Nigeria" mantra on their head like a burden that has been killing them. Nollywood practically started in Iweka road, Onitsha and Pound Road, Aba with the early movies such as living in bondage, Nneka the pretty serpent, etc. The Yorubas quickly set up their own "Nollywood" in Lagos and the north quickly set up its own version in Kano. Shockingly, the Igbos decided that they needed to "UNITE" Nollywoods and moved theirs to Lagos and started the English movies! The Yorubas used their money and Infrastructure to set up another specific Yoruba movies version in Ibadan, while Igbos were still too ashamed to continue Igbo language movies like Living in Bondage that gave them fame in the first instance! They said that they didn't want to make "Igbotic" movies. Whatever that meant. In time, those tactless Igbos seeking a "UNITED Nigerian Nollywood" have gradually learned that there is nothing "Nigerian" that can survive or have support from other tribes. It is the same thing that they did to some Igbo Musicians that thought that if they sang in Yoruba language or English, somehow those people will not remember that they are Igbo. Well, such idiocy! None of those musicians exist today. It is the artists that understood their audience and understood that in Nigeria, it is only your people that will promote you first before others will appreciate you. So they sang mostly in the Igbo language that are still around today and doing very well. All the "One Nigeria" artists that preferred singing in strange languages than their own have all been liquidated. Anywhere in the world, what I have written here will be considered extreme nationalism and distasteful. But Nigeria is not a normal place. It is a place where people ask your name and your parent's tribe before they decide if your art is good or not. Those "Lagos" Igbos and others that would like to play the ostrich and pretend that what has been said here is untrue should continue to delude themselves. From knocking down their houses and markets in Lagos to other practices they have faced, I am just glad that some of them are beginning to smell the coffee and understand the true nature of the space called Nigeria. That is just the bitter truth. They can continue to ignore it at their own peril. |
investnow2013:At least she finally got a job. After Buhari betrayed her after she agreed to help them kick Jonathan out. It was funny how she became aggrieved after her name did not make the Buhari ministerial list ![]() |
, governor umahi is not substandard governor
