IGBOSON1: ![]() |
To save Nigeria, we must look past religion. Especially in 2023! The vultures are already gathering and they want to use religious sentiments to deceive people in order to perpetuate themselves one way or the other. |
JohnBullMySon:I used sentinel to go around the boundaries and got 102.64 sq km. That means approx. 10,264 hectares! Unfortunately with sentinel if you zoom out it changes from satellite imagery into an opaque map. Although Sentinel is not a very recent map. But, I will try and get a clearer map. But it is obvious that even by the most stringent assessment, the area already showing with roads are more than 80 sq km.
|
Rocksvibes234:Exactly! The area with roads that I measured was last updated in June 2021! We know since June, they have opened new roads (i.e. some places i did not include due to no roads in that area are indeed part of the land). Anyway, you know that JohnBull my daughter is perhaps one of the owl's new monikers! |
JohnBullMySon:Can you verify the satellite imagery source? Because even the most updated satellite imagery website: https://www.maxar.com/products/satellite-imagery showed the place so far developed as >60Sq KM. Which is already more than 6,000 hectares! |
The International Airport Special fire trucks are finally here! Soon there will no longer be any restrictions on the category of aircraft landing at the airport!

post=109244785:Nwanne, The Anambra Fire service HQ isn't 2 minutes drive. Moreover, you have not factored in a traffic hold-up. Not to mention the need to cross a busy expressway to reach the other side where the ICC is located! I don't know why our people always play with fire until it's too late when we lose everything. I can almost hear Mr. Sabinus like Peter Obi throw exactly the same type of argument that Abuja fire service is just only 1 minute away from his mall. In his mind, he is saving money "prudently" by entrusting his entire mall and its contents to the efficiency of Abuja fire service. Instead of his own dedicated fire truck on site! Asking Innoson to supply one standby firetruck to be stationed at the ICC is not a waste of money. Moreover, the fire truck can be used to respond to fire distress calls in other parts of Awka. Just that its primary station is at the ICC. This ICC will cost billions to build and furnish. If a fire outbreak from its kitchen, in-built banking hall or even electrical fault catches on the roof without prompt and instantaneous response before it becomes a true inferno, such fire will be a monumental disaster for the state. Not to mention that the ICC cannot be ever repaired due to the prohibitive cost of such a venture. Therefore, one fire truck stationed within the compound is a very very worthy investment to ensure that type of catastrophic fire is never allowed to take root before fire trucks from other locations make it to the scene. |
Chikeluba25:A standby Firetruck MUST be stationed within this location. The state must protect this edifice from fire disasters. I can already see. Those setting supermarkets on fire are not sleeping. A fire struck within the location will ensure that any fire is immediately nipped in the bud before it has time to become a calamity. |
IPOB people should know that Buhari will use this fake "release" intention to introduce more divide and rule among them. Anyway, wetin kwancern me and IPOB? They have been too daft lately. So, let Buhari's handlers toy with their chicken blain! |
Naijanascam:Heaven ke? There is god o! I will ask Mummy G.O if their reward is in heaven or hell. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

QueenAgbo:Two of nairalands rabid Igbo haters. Yet, they can't help themselves showing up in every Igbo thread ![]() Chief Pete Edochie aptly explained this phenomenon below! ![]()
|
Ofodirinwa:At the appropriate time, statues and other nonsense of anyone that killed Igbo civilians will be scrapped from Igboland. You can be assured of that. Expecting us to continue living with such statues is like asking the Jews to erect and revere the statue of Hitler. |
hammer567:I agree with this post. Someone is already taking money to hang village almanacs as potential public advertisement spaces inside the terminal building! Soon, they will turn the wonderfully modern edifice to resemble a village town hall with all sorts of paper advertisements hanging all over the place. You wonder why they will spend so much money to make glass railings, build a world-class terminal building and then deface it with hanging all sorts of analog local print-outs as one ad or another. Why can't they truly aim at making this airport stand out as a truly international airport of global standard? Why must they make it look like a Nigerian local/ domestic airport with all sorts of analog ads pasted on the walls or hanging all over the place? What happened to use of electronic display boards like other international airports such as in the picture? In that way, they can intermittently allow one ad. to show to a specified number of minutes, and then the screen will change to the next ad. I truly hope they employ an interior decor person before they totally make the terminal building look like a typical village hall the way they have already started. Perhaps Obiano should start visiting the place again so they won't deface the place.

Dovegrey:For once i agree with IPOB. Without the consumption of these cows, there would be no incentive for the herdsmen to kill people and pillage farms to feed these animals. IPOB should not back down on this one. They should target both suppliers, killers and consumers of these cows. The madness of the herdsmen's terror must stop one way or another. |
Notryme80:Exactly! They're desperate for PDP to zone its 2023 presidency to Igbos. That is the central hope that APC has to retain power. I am so glad that the PDP has decided to do what it must to and rescue Nigeria from the current mess. They only need to ensure that the VeePee is from the Southeast so that a logical succession plan can be evident. |
IGBOSON1:No, it's an unrelated picture. I don't know why folks love to deceive, even when it is unnecessary to do so. We will still get the jumbo jets to use the airport as it was designed and built on the Boeing 747-8 aircraft specifications airport. But right now, only E145 jets are approved and similar to small private jets. The airport has not started night operations yet. Even though all the runway lights and ILS systems are ready. We'll get there this year. |
Fulanis are looking for a war they cannot afford. When the reprisals begin, they should not say they didn't see it coming. |
Our Firestation is almost good to go! We are set to start getting the bigger planes approved for using the airport!
|
IGBOSON1:My brother, you are absolutely right. The tempo of development at the airport has drastically slowed. The only noticeable improvement is that they appeared to have swept the internal road and car park. They also put up directional road signs and signs to remind folks to wear seat belts and labeled the power station building. One hopes that sweeping the internal roads mean they will finally mark the roads properly. Not marking a road properly after construction is like not painting a house after plastering. Even if you live in such a house for 100 years, it will always appear somewhat uncompleted. That is why properly marking the approach main dual-carriageway all the way to the internal roads within the airport is very important. Especially as this is an international airport where we expect visitors to form their first impression of Nigeria. Also marking the main access roads could help attract the right types of individuals to invest in the appropriate buildings required along that dual-carriage way.

All of you plotting the destruction of the federal state of Nigeria under all sorts of smokescreens will eventually learn that it was to your disadvantage for Nigeria to become a unitary state. Now it seems a very perfect idea to destroy every shred of federalism in the union. |
post=108994529:Some private citizens understand Nigeria more than others and definitely much more than our so-called Igbo politicians. When Kwankwanso opened up his Kwankwansiya estate project, Igbos flocked to the area to buy up all the houses and build houses on empty plots like crazy! You'd wonder why they snubbed similar estates in their own region! The Enugu Centenary and Golf city was there at the same period, but they snubbed it for Kwankwasiyya city! Ask yourself how many northern generals and top federal civil servants in Enugu even built a boy's quarters anywhere in the city after more than 20 years living there! But Igbos decided it was a good idea to dominate a housing estate being developed by Kano state government for its people. However, when Kano state government and administrators in that estate start pulling down or confiscating their buildings after a few years as 'illegal' structures or under other pretenses, they will cry to you to help them avoid the predicament they faced because they are Igbos! I came across a 2012 Facebook post of many Ndigbo who regretted that Gov. Peter Obi refused to build a badly needed airport in Anambra which would be a solidly visible legacy of his 8 years administration. Instead, he chose to build in Mall in Abuja of all places. Which they predicted will be burnt down at some point by Almajiris! I was so shocked when I read the comment. Mind you, this post was made when Peter Obi was the Governor of Anambra state! Sometimes the voice of the majority is the voice of God! I know Peter Obi will understand better bye and bye.
|
I read through the new year message and did not find anything to illustrate that the bitter lessons of 2021 should not be allowed to repeat. Did he say anything about who burnt his super-mall? Is he going to rebuild it? What measures will be taken in 2022 to reduce the risks of arson in supermarkets? Will he spread his risk by investing in other stores nationwide rather than a single super-store in one location? Sustain hope in the country that bandits will finally be decisively dealt with by the federal government or that corruption, nepotism, and tribalism will no longer have a place in the governance of Nigeria? There are too many IMPORTANT questions that Peter Obi is cleverly avoiding. Only a complete dunce will put their hope in nigeria.

post=108983323:Nna, Jisie ike! I just love all your positive efforts. I'll keep sharing all your videos until this channel blows up! Daalu maka olu oma nine. |
Landmack:I personally believe that if he had built the same size of mall in Anambra, Enugu, Aba, Asaba, Abakaliki or Owerri, as the Abuja and PH Next malls, he would have gone very far like Everyday Supermarket or Roban by now. Not to mention that the response time of the state fire service would have been a lot sooner. That is if there would be any arson at all against his property in the southeast. Whatever were Peter Obi's reasons for avoiding any investment in the southeast region is no longer valid. He should show good examples of Aku luo uno as a mega political leader in the zone. |
Landmack:The more Peter Obi avoids investing in Anambra, the more he loses credibility in everything he does. The first is that he ruled the state and claimed he did well to place it on a sound economic footing. Then campaigned for others to invest. So why isn't he investing? If he fails to invest in the state, he will eventually be looked upon as a man who is about all talk but no substance. |
tshtsh:All these arm-chair critics that know how America and Singapore developed, but cannot develop a hamlet. Typical Nigerians! That is why my best friend in school always sang Victor Uwaifo's Joromi for these types of people that always raise their hands quickly to answer all the teacher's questions to prove they are the most intelligent in the class, but will always give beautiful nonsense as answers each time. Which exposes their ignorance of the topic. People that know why every airline succeeded or did not succeed, but cannot run one Keke napep profitably TYPICAL NIGERIAN E-RAT!!! ![]() For those who do not understand the meaning of "Joromi" response to these types of people that confidently type beautiful nonsense. The Joromi song is about a man who confidently narrates a pipe dream / impossible tale that only makes sense to the dreamer, who cannot differentiate dreams from reality. What the English call "Stranger than Fiction." Yet, they confidently speak or write their narrative as though they have some special real knowledge or real facts on the topic. ![]() https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8EDrH-HS7tA |
Landmack:Onwa landed in his own jet. One thing about Ngige is that after his first attempt to enter government through the backdoor, he has consistently opposed wuruwuru. He was one of the few that publicly spoke out that Andy Ubah's methods of writing results instead of courting the grassroots would fail. He was right. He made sure to underscore the point that he was the one that first procured the land for the airport. This is what happens when you play some positive role in the development of your state no matter how little. You can always proudly say, I did something to contribute to the development when I was there as the governor!. Unlike someone who also landed today at the airport that could not speak because all he had ever contributed to the state was the kidnapping of the governor, burning down the government house, ABS etc and selling the ONLY state-owned hotel "Ikenga Hotels Awka" I can only imagine the pride when Obiano will visit Anambra state in the future, and list his numerous positive contributions to the development of the state when he was the governor! Perhaps he would be coming to attend a conference being hosted at the Awka International Convention Center!

Cjrane2:I truly was not angry. I just felt his usual irritation of tagging everyone a government agent. He did the same in Enugu thread when I actively supported Sullivan Chime's developmental projects. It is in the same spirit that I praise Gov. Dave Umahi and route for the successful completion of his projects, especially the Abakaliki airport project. I guess as you rightly pointed out, my only desire is to fix my homeland. I look around Nigeria and see how Igbos are despised and derided. Yet the same despised Igbos remain unconcerned and struggle to outdo themselves on who would own more investment in Lagos, Kano, Abuja, etc, and I ask myself what is wrong with our people?? They rarely want to learn from their own history and experience. They only learn from bitter personal experiences. So when those people in Lagos and elsewhere go after them, I rarely feel for them because they need to learn from personal experience to believe anything. The clear handwriting on the wall is that people should learn to fix their homeland first or at least have a fall-back investment there in case of losing everything. Other Nigerian tribes know this. Why it's so hard for the average Igbo person to appreciate remains a wonder. The same Igbo traders that gleefully abandoned the Oba International market to develop swamps in Lagos called trade fair complexes, will complain when these things are demolished overnight with all the goods in it. Then they bribe the officials to buy the demolished store of his brother to build his own. Which of course will be demolished in the next round of demolitions. As Lagos Governor Fashola once asked Igbos why it was so hard to fix their homeland with the type of resources they control in Lagos? Well, an average Igboman would rather fix Lagos so that he will drag it with Yorubas than fix his own homeland. As fixing his homeland makes him "local & Igbotic". I am glad many people are beginning to reject that mindset of abandoning their homeland and going to struggle for Lagos with Yorubas. If Buhari were an Igboman, he would not address the infrastructural decay in Igboland nor address the marginalization of the zone. As doing so would make him "Igbotic". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yqwzuZW7bEU Anyhow, enjoy some highlights of today's events at the Awka City Stadium.
