Islam for Muslims / Re: Ruling On Muslims Congratulating One Another On The Occasion Of The Gregorian NY by Oricha62(m): 11:57am On Jan 01, 2021
Janus was the god of beginnings and transitions in Roman mythology, and presided over passages, doors, gates and endings, as well as in transitional periods such as from war to peace. He was usually depicted as having two faces looking at opposite ways, one towards the past and the other towards the future.

January is named after the Roman god Janus. As you can see in this print, he had two faces so he could see the future and the past! He was also the god of doors.

. It is established from the Sunnah that the head of the child is to be shaved on the seventh day after the birth:

From Samurah (radiyallaahu `anhu) that Allaah’s Messenger (salallaahu `alaihi wassallaam) said:

“A child is held in pledge by his `aqeeqah that is slaughtered on his behalf on the seventh day, and he is named and his head is shaved.”

Reported by Ahmad (7/5), Abu Dawood (2838), At-Tirmidhee (1522). It was graded Saheeh by: At-Tirmidhee, Al-Haakim, Abdur-Razzaaq Al-Ishbeelee and others.

Salmaan Ibn `Aamir Ad-Dabbee (radiyallaahu ‘anhu) said that: I heard Allaah’s Messenger (salallaahu `alaihi wassallam) say:

“For the child there is an `aqeeqah, so spill blood on his behalf (i.e. slaughter an animal) and remove from him harm.”

Al-Bukhaaree (5472), Abu Dawood (2839).

Al-Hasan Al-Basree (d. 110H, rahimahullaah) said:

“The removal of harm is shaving the head.”

Reported by Abu Dawood (2840).

Ibn Abdil-Barr said in At-Tamheed (4/318) said:

“As for the shaving of the head of the child at the time of `aqeeqah, then the scholars used to recommend that – and it is established from the Prophet (salallaahu `alaihi wassallam) in the hadeeth regarding the `aqeeqah, ‘His head is shaved and he is named.'”

2. Some benefits concerning the shaving of the head of a baby:

Ibnul-Qayyim (rahimahullaah) said in At-Tuhfatul-Mawlood (p.121):

“Removing the harm from him, and the removal of weak hair so that stronger hair replaces it, which is firmer than what was there before, and it is better for one’s head. Alongside that there is relief for the child, and opening of the pores in the scalp so that the unpleasant vapour may escape with ease. And in that there is a strengthening of the eyesight, the nasal passage and the hearing.”

3. An issue: Should the hair of a baby girl be shaved?

In this there is some differing between the Scholars, but what is apparent is that the head of the baby girl is also to be shaved for the following reasons:

Maalik Ibn Anas (d.179H, rahimahullaah) narrated in Al-Muwatta (2/501) from Ja`far Ibn Muhammad, from his father who said:

“Faatimah the daughter of Allaah’s Messenger (salallaahu `alaihi wassallam) weighed the hair of Hasan, Husayn, Zaynab and Umm Kulthoom, and she gave its weight in silver as charity.”

This narration is mursal-saheeh (authentic except for the fact that there is a narrator missing) – however, there is within it Muhammad Ibn Al-Husayn Ibn `Alee Ibn Abee Taalib (radiyallaahu `anhumaa) who narrates this from his family, and he is more knowledgeable concerning them. And this is supported by the statement of the Messenger (salallaahu `alaihi wassallam):

“And shave his head.”

Furthermore the Prophet (salallaahu `alaihi wassallam) explained the wisdom behind removing the hair of the new-born because it is harmful saying: “And remove from him harm.”

So this encompasses every new-born, whether it be male or female, and Allaah knows best.

Most of the relatives of mad people wish for death .instead of seeing on the street everyday.

Ignorance is not an excuse

Allah the Almighty says,
And do not kill the soul which Allah has forbidden [to be killed] except by [legal] right. This has He instructed you that you may use reason [Qur`an 6: 151],
and,
And do not kill yourselves [or one another]. Indeed, Allah is to you ever Merciful [Qur`an 4: 29].

Thabit Ibn Al-Dahak narrated that the Prophet [peace and blessings be upon him] said, “Whosoever kills himself with anything in this world will be tortured with it on the Day of Judgment.”

Definition of suicide
It is the act of killing oneself [intentionally].
The ruling on suicide
Suicide is prohibited in Islamic law according to evidence from the Qur`an, Sunna, and the consensus of Muslim scholars. A person who commits suicide commits a major sin, though this does not take him outside of Islam.
Washing, shrouding, and praying over a person who commits suicide
It is considered a fard kifaya [communal duty] upon Muslims to wash and shroud a person who commits suicide as well as to bury him in a Muslim cemetery. This is because he is a Muslim and is subject to the general rulings that apply to deceased

Active suicide: This means taking active steps to carry out a suicide. Examples include [among others], using a sword, spear, rifle, poison to kill oneself, jumping from great heights, throwing oneself in fire, and drowning.
Passive suicide: This means refraining from making an effort to stay alive. Examples include abstaining from food and drink, neglecting a treatable wound, staying motionless in water or fire, not trying to escape from an animal when one has the capacity to do so.
The ruling on committing suicide to avoid evil
It is impermissible to commit suicide to avoid evils such as rape and torture for instance. It is impermissible for a girl to commit suicide for fear of rape; she must defend herself against her attacker even if this means killing him. If she is killed in the process, she is considered a martyr because she died to defend her honor. The same applies to those who face humiliation and torture. They should resist their assailants and it is impermissible for them to commit suicide under the pretext that it is more honorable to kill themselves than to accept captivity and torture.

A Muslim is obligated to exercise patience at times of affliction and fight injustice to the best of his ability. He is not commanded to commit suicide to escape afflictions.
May Allah forgives her and us all.
