I grew up in a system where federal government gave the north free education. I grew up to a system where you get no benefit in the north unless you are a northerner. I grew up to the North's nonchalant attitude to education even after getting it free.

I was not happy about it.
Awards of scholarships go to the northerners even when they are not the best students. The Northern universities will not even forward your names.

But the good ones that understood the benefits of learning. They stood out always striving for greatness.
