St.Funmi:Then why do people bother to vote if the thing has already been decided by the oracles? ![]() |
Do you know Opobo people also call the post natal period Omugwo? a testament to their Igbo ancestry |
~Sauron~:BTW,Ngwa is not a village A group of people that have about 7 LGA's in a single state have several towns and villages. Prove your assertion I don't want hear say. |
~Sauron~:I have also asked you to prove you claims starting with your youth corper story. even the Ngwa story you harp about [b]Please prove to me from news stories where an ngwa village killed and ate people |
Sauron, the only reason I went as far as posting just 2 of the several stories of cannibalism by Yorubas is to point to you that sick people come in all tribes. Next time you or any others open your mouth to call Igbos cannibals remember Salifu Ojo,Folorunsho Olukotun and Tahiru plus many others. http://www.iol.co.za/index.php?newslett=1&click_id=68&art_id=qw1022058361787B252&set_id=1 |
~Sauron~:I'm no cannibal, says outraged Nigerian Cannibal ordered to visit head shrinker Lagos - A Nigerian man who confessed to killing his boss and making pepper soup with her body parts was arrested on Wednesday, police said.Salifu Ojo, a 23-year-old farm labourer in southwest Ondo state, killed Christiana Elijah, a 40-year-old mother of four, after a dispute over his pay. He chopped off her head, hands and legs, then removed her internal organs which he used as ingredients for his soup, police said. "Ojo macheted the woman after they disagreed over payment," Paul Ochonu, Ondo state commissioner of police, told Reuters. "He severed her parts, made pepper soup and ate it - all on the farm." |
~Sauron~:Lagos - A Nigerian man has been arrested after he killed a woman and ate her stewed intestines in a bid to cure an abnormally persistent erection, police said on Wednesday. A spokesperson for Osun state police said 50-year-old Folorunso Olukotun had led officers to his victim's disembowelled body in the bush near his home village in south-west Nigeria. "According to the man's story, his private organ always has an erection and it doesn't go down," Oluwole Ayodeji said. "Someone advised him to kill a woman and eat her intestines." Olukotun ambushed his victim, a woman in her forties unknown to her attacker, on a path near her village. He attacked her with a machete, killed her, and took her intestines home, Ayodeji said. |
we had this discussion many years ago (hubby and I) and I won hands down ![]() We bought a house in the USA where we spend most of our time before building one at home in Naija That makes the most sense |
DeReloaded:Yes who could forget Dahmer didn't they catch him with a skull in his freezer and a giant stock pot cooking people's buttocks ![]() Who had skulls in the airport? Maybe he was a student of cranial anatomy ![]() |
It happened in 1999 The men are in prison without a trial,I hear just google clifford Orji and it's an ![]() |
DeReloaded:I heard it here on nairaland mainly from Yorubas taunting Igbos and calling them cannibals and ritualists. Even one of your friends texcee or so whipped it out on one of her tirades then I googled and read the story and was shocked that he had a Yoruba accomplice that was completely lost in the story. |
Tahiru is a typical Yoruba Muslim name |
Okija_juju:My brother, it is the Lord God almighty that'll bless me ![]() People forget that when they point one finger at someone, their 4 fingers plus their extra sixth finger point back at them |
Before you go any further, there are cannibals in Abia State.and there are Cannibals in Lagos,Osun,Ekiti,Oyo,Ondo and Ogun states. ![]() tahiru is a typical example. Please give me credible sources of your stories other than nollywood and I hope you'll also make the same conclusion about Yorubas if I showed you stories of yoruba cannibals besides Tahiru including one that made human peppersoup and was dishing it out to his neighbours. There's currently a human parts market in Lagos,as seen in another thread Can I safely assume that dismembership of humans and sale of their hands, feet and breasts is Yoruba culture? The sole purpose of this thread is to put giant holes in the stereotypes you've come to accept. |
Some of you guys have talked a bunch of nonsense and no one has answered my question. Why is it that nobody ever mentions Tahiru, the Yoruba man that worked hand in hand with Clifford Orji capturing little girls with permed hair, cooking and eating them Is it because Clifford Orji is an Igbo man and the media in Lagos and Nigeria was out to paint Igbos "black" as they normally do. The main purpose of this thread is to show the media bias against Igbos. Secondly,I want people to be able to refer to the complete Clifford Orji story. If Igbos are said to be Cannibals because of Clifford Are Yorubas also cannibals because of Tahiru? |
jenny abeg! most women look their best on the wedding day Is that her best? Look at that picture she took with the lady wearing an expired wig she looks hideous |
at least when a woman puts on weight down the road with age and kids, she can whip out her wedding album and brag to her hubby about the knock out she was when he married her. What will this bride say? Without a child she's already close to a size 16,what will she look like after one child,or two,or three? But nna men,the cellu for her arms are scary. I wonder what the thighs are like sand dune? ![]() I saw her movie recently for the first time and I kept wondering why this beautiful girl with a cute smile had such massive arms |
who has the energy to read all this long long GS 101 project? |
DeReloaded:won't a baby crawl before im begin waka? must we wait to be acknowledged by the white man? Our people (african and Caribbeans) acknowledge them and love them The movies have made millionaires of our people Isn't that an accomplishment? |
chiogo:You rubbed everyone including myself the wrong way when you said it was stupid to name kids non English names when they lived in an English speaking country. Like so many have said, parents choose to teach their kids pride in their Nigerian heritage or not. It's a choice. My son has an English middle name after my grandfathers baptismal name and I remember when he was a baby,a Nigerian kid once said,he'll sure my baby would go by his English name when he went to school. No one has ever called him by that name and it's just there as a middle alphabet. |
asha 80:Yes Not just foreign culture but other Nigerian culture to their detriment. People accuse Igbos of tribalism yet there are more Igbos that speak other Nigerian languages than any other group in Nigeria wear other peoples clothing and even name their kids names from other Nigerian cultures. |
RichyBlacK:I remember them back in the days Those movies where you hear the sound of the punch before the hand touches the face ![]() |
chiogo:please sharap already! anyone who can't pronounce my name of that of my husband and children can go jump into the Hudson if they're expecting me to change their names to suit them. If your friends can't pronounce your name teach them. You can't go switching your name from Chiogo to Chicago Or from Lanre to Larry to suit them. Thats what stupid is Or dig up some silly middle name when your parents only meant it to be a middle name because the birth certificate has a space for one. |
DeReloaded:and Passion of Christ was 100% Hebrew with English captions. Why would you be comparing hollywood movies with nollywood? If hollywood made a movie today in 100% Yoruba it will sell millions All the other ones you mentioned are developed industries mostly popular in their homelands. Nollywood is not at their level. It's bad enough making home movies and calling them movies but deciding to make it in a native Nigerian language would limit the market even further. |
DeReloaded:You cannot compare bollywood to Nollywood because bollywood is foreign and Nigerians love anyone with whitish skin We had no choice. We didn't have our own developed movie industry (not that it is now) Is it a coincidence that Indian films ceased to be popular as our own industry grew? If you say nollywood would have done as well with Igbo films, why are Yoruba movies not all over Africa and beyond? why is it only/mostly popular amongst Yorubas? Why is Kanny wood only amongst Hausas? |
