This GEJ guy will never learn. Country like US is assisting us to combat BokoHaram and we planning to send troops to assist another country that is having same problem with us. GEJ don't let me swear for U o. |
NDICATIONS emerged on Sunday that Nigeria will soon deploy soldiers in Mali to confront the Islamists troubling the West African country, the Presidency and foreign affairs ministry said on Sunday. Spokespersons for President Goodluck Jonatha, Reuben Abati; and Foreign Affairs Ministry, Ogbole Ahmedu-Ode, say Nigeria holds a responsibility to return peace to Mali. “Nigeria is committed to resolving the crisis in Mali especially as President Jonathan is a co-mediator in the crisis,” Abati told The PUNCH on Sunday, while Ogbole-Ode said it was mandatory for the country to salvage the situation in Mali where Islamic fundamentalists are unleashing attacks on the country’s monuments and people. The Presidency’s confirmation came on the heels of Ivorien President Alassane Ouattara’s announcement that member state of Economic Community of West Africa would soon send deploy troops in Mali if the situation in the country did not improve rapidly. Ouattara said this in interview with French weekly, Le Journal du Dimanche. The interview conducted in French and published on Sunday was translated by The PUNCH via Google translator. The Ivorien President, who is also the incumbent chairman of ECOWAS, said, “If the (Malian) situation does not evolve positively and quickly, yes, there will be a military intervention in Mali. It seems to me inevitable. “The chiefs of staff of West Africa met in Abidjan this week. All member states of ECOWAS were represented. It shows that the Joint Chiefs of Staff Officers propose the establishment of a contingent of nearly 3,300 men. Initially, it will deploy gendarmes and police. Then, the military. “My chief of staff said this week rightly that the situation in Mali is deteriorating a little more each day and not only in the north but also south. We plan to establish an African peacekeeping force made up half of Malian soldiers, half of soldiers from Niger, Nigeria, perhaps in Chad and other countries.” On the urgency of the deployment, Ouattara said, “I think we can talk in weeks, not months. There is urgency. Northern Mali is a land of moderate Islam. Not Malians who violate human rights, force women to wear the burqah and abuse them, who destroy historical monuments, preventing young people from listening to music . I am told that these men come from Yemen, Afghanistan, Pakistan … They are extremists, terrorists who must return to where they came from.” Abati said, “The ECOWAS leaders have the responsibility to ensure peace in Mali and the sub-region. Nigeria is committed to resolving the crisis in Mali especially as President Jonathan is a co-mediator in the crisis. “This country has a brilliant record of participation in peace missions: Sierra Leone, Liberia and so on. Nigeria is fully committed to regional peace.” Speaking in the same vein, Ogbole-Ode said Nigeria, as “a responsible member of the international community, was bound by agreements it entered into.” But the opposition argued on Sunday that it was not ideal for the Federal Government to send soldiers to Mali to fight for peace at a time that Nigeria was in the thick of an insurgency. Attacks by the violent Islamic sect, Boko Haram, since last year have claimed at least 3,000 lives. The All Nigeria Peoples Party said that although there was nothing wrong if Nigeria sent soldiers to Mali, the present security situation at home did not warrant it. Speaking in a telephone interview with our correspondent, the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Chief Emma Eneukwu, said there was no need for Nigeria to abandon its problems while trying to solve that of other countries. He said, “The present problem facing the country requires the attention of members of our armed forces. Our security is zero. “Let us sit down and face our own problems first before handling that of others for them. We are at danger here already. Let us prevail on the government not to send our soldiers to a foreign land when they have work to do here.” Also, the National Chairman of the Action Congress of Nigeria, Chief Bisi Akande, cautioned the Federal Government over the plan to deploy troops in Mali. Akande, who spoke through his media aide, Mr Lani Baderinwa, on Sunday, charged the Federal Government to ensure the safety of lives and property in the country before venturing out to Mali. “Charity begins at home. We must not be like the proverbial ostrich that buries her head in the sand while her rump is out in the open,” the ACN chairman said. He wondered why the government contemplated deploying troops in Mali when Africa was not the centre-point of the nation’s foreign policy. “It is ironic that the government would contemplate sending troops abroad when our security agencies are finding it extremely difficult to combat the security challenges in the country,” he stressed. |
I’m a typical Nigerian guy and I cherish my Fridays a lot; I get to hang out with the sickest guys every Friday night and secondly, It’s another escape from my nagging and boring wife. I get confused sometimes on whether she’s my mother or my wife. Don’t get it twisted; I love her pieces. It just gets complicated; like I wish we never got married…marriage has turned her into something that doesn’t amuse me. I wish she was still the adventurous, charming, high spirited lady I dated for five years. A lot of people say its unethical for married guys to be found in a club, but I wish everyone won’t be too quick to judge and understand that people look for fun to run away from their problems; they just want to breathe, like me. I forgot to say that I work in Guarantee Trust Bank along Lekki, I love my job and my job loves me, maybe its because I’m the senior banking officer. Lol. This particular morning, a lady breezed into my office. My heart raced faster because I had not sighted anything this beautiful in a long while. She wasn’t the typical slender Barbie, in fact, she was a bit chubby but her smile, cuteness and…I was tripped. “Hi Good morning! Your ATM has swallowed my card!” She laughed, unlike a typical customer that would ram you. I just tried to form Boss laughter… “Good morning, You know what? I’d personally make sure they get it out for you, but not today. Can you wait till Monday?” I smiled “GTB shaaa! OK, can I just drop my number so you could call me up or just text when its ready so I don’t come twice? Please? My name is Nancy” She blinked her eyes in a funny way. “Sure” I smiled We exchanged numbers. What a lucky Friday! So it was 10:00pm and I headed to the club…as usual my friends were chilling for me. My wife had called a couple of times, I just ignored it. She knows I’m never home Friday nights. “Look at you!” I heard someone say. I raised my head and it was the ATM lady-Nancy. “Wow, look at you too!” I was surprised to see her but I was happy I didn’t have to wait till Monday to see her again. “Happy Friday!” She screamed because of the noise, “Wanna dance?” I didn’t even have the chance to answer, she already pulled me to dance floor. I really suck at dancing but she helped me; she was a great dancer! I had fun! At some point we decided to go to a private area and we talked, ranging from work, business to personal life. I tried to hide my ring as much as possible, I certainly didn’t want this to end now. “You are a really wonderful lady. You are so interesting…any guy would want to be with you all day” I said. “I wasn’t always like this but I have learned the hard way that life is just too short to be sad” she sang Then her phone rang… “Hey baby! Yeah I’m at the private lounge, I’d like you to meet someone…alright boo” she talked excitedly as usual. I was in shock until this tall handsome man walks up to her and kisses her. “You were late. Meet Dayo; I met him this morning, he’s helping with your ATM I told you got swallowed and Dayo this is my B to the O-O,” she laughed “Meet my husband Kolade, we only come here to dance every fortnight Friday; away from work, stress and kids.” “Wow, a pleasure” I managed to shake him Then she stood now excitedly holding her husband’s arms. “Why don’t we invite Dayo for Mimi’s 16th birthday tomorrow?” Her husband said They have kids too? How long have they been married and they look like a couple just dating! “Silly me, please come for my second daughter’s 16th tomorrow. It would be an honor” She brought out an I.V from her purse. I began to feel so ashamed of myself…this was another guy like me, getting it right with one woman. I collected the I.V and promised to be there. “See you tomorrow! Have you had something to eat Kolade?” she talked and dragged her husband along. They left and I kept staring at the thin air like I had seen a ghost. They come just to dance together every fortnight Fridays? Why didn’t I think of that! Temi loves to dance…she also likes long walks, she loves to talk…she loves jazz music, there’s this vivid picture I have of me putting her hand on my chest when we danced at a jazz club on our first year anniversary…I found myself typing all the things I knew Temi loved to do on my Ipad and I realized I had denied her of all…I had made her the old woman she acts. What the hell was I doing here! I didn’t even tell my friends goodbye, I walked out of the club into my Jaguar. Temi’s call came through and I picked at first ring. “Temi?” My heart raced “I know you are not coming home…” “I am, stay up so we can gist. Been a while” I decided to do everything on that list and to even add many more for the rest of my lifetime with her. “Are you alright?” She was shocked I suppose “And I’d like us to go for a birthday party tomorrow. I want you to meet this amazing couple” “You sound different Dayo” “Maybe I’m different” “Don’t say it! don’t say it! when you come we will gist very well” she laughed She laughed!!! In just that laughter that I hadn’t heard in a while, she sounded like the lady I married six years ago… Dear reader, I wrote this natural piece just to remind us that creating memorable moments with our partner matters. Do you know that little things are the sweetest things? Just creating time to gist and laugh with your partner, having a day in the week that’s exclusively for you both-No friends or kids allowed. Lady, when last have you told your partner he is so darn hot? Guy! When last have you told your lady she is the sweetest thing? When last have you whispered ‘Thank you’? When last have you been quick to say ‘I’m sorry’? Do you even have a clue on what your partner loves to do? When you ignore little things, they are the little pieces of rocks that build up to become a mountain you can’t easily break down. Pay attention to little things, believe that they work and experience new bliss! |
I feel malta Guinness should have partnered with Airtel in doing this coz they are also in contract with Arsenal fc. Good one sha. |
Billyonaire: The answer is simply in the economics text books. The law of demand and supply. So many people chose to go to UK for schooling, shopping, tourism etc. And since the government depends on taxation which is added to the rents and other products/services price regimes, the multiplier effect is what you feel daily in the UK, little wonder people living in UK almost always come home with little or nothing to show for it than a rented accent.Nice one, bro! |
smile4kenn: Indications emerged yesterday in Abuja at the ongoing African First Ladies Peace Summit that Corporate Nigeria, an amalgamation of multi-national companies operating in the country are to fund the proposed African First Ladies’ Peace Centre in Abuja. And after reading this what do you guys make of it? Accepted, the govt has not been trying at all but if it is true that the funding would be coming from the above named companies, then I think we are all going to benefit from it. At least it will help in developing the country and in one way or the other, some will be employed. |
I feel all these killings, irrespective of the location, are sings of end-time. Yesterday, the Indians where busy killing themselves. I watch bbc-news yesterday where an American police allegedly shot a man. Syria government is busy killing its own citizens....and so on. Its only God that will have mercy on us all. But on a more serious note, these boko boiz are really not helping the Nigerian economy as a whole. My company which happens to be the highest dealer in agric produce is on the verge of leaving that bloody region which ll not really help this nation. |
OMG!!! How could someone open his eyes and chop-off another person's head. Some things happens in this wicked world and one would be tempted to ask 'why did God create this type of people'. Or if I may painfully ask, did God create us all? This is heartlessness!!! |
afam4eva: I have a long p*nis. Can I apply?I swear, u ve got no talent. Chairman,if u c my friends own(penhiz), u go no say na until u c anoda man's oko u cnt say urs is big. |
I wonder what song he would have sang to the crowd and the crowd would cheer him. Anyway,I pray he pays coz Africans are not taken seriously. |
Na wa o! But according to vanguard, its 800. |
Why would I get mad if my spouse has an admirer? I would rather be happy that I have in my hands a vowel which other men are longing for.
bros, don't forget that some guys just want to have fun(sex) with her and dump her |
It is true. A military guy that participated in the sinking of that very ship told me one on one. So it aint a fake rumour. |
Madness to infinity!!! |
I don't get this madness at all. Are we saying that we are fighting both BH and Al-queda at a time? Now the question here is,who is sponsoring Al-queda here in Nigeria and what course are they fighting for? |
What time did you hear this coz I stayed glue to the TV yesterday. |
Why is it that it is only pointblankonline.com that is painting this AIG black? I have not heard otherwise from other media houses/agents. Anyway, he has been giving six month to curtail this menace or fired. Una no hear dis one? |
Sometimes, raids like this could be helpful. Am not saying it is the best but somehow we never can tell WHO IS WHO among them. We have heard the BH complaining about the police arresting its members. No matter what, I just pray all this rubbish come to an end. My company is already running away from all northern states and it will be a very big blow to this nation coz they contribute about 68% of Agricultural growth. |
Keep promising while BH keep bombing. |
yeye madrid! I don't know why they always misbehave whenever they see Barca. Mumu team! |
I pray this is not true. GEJ is an a§§høle! Sack all ya FücKIÑg security chiefs NOW!!! |
It is all over BB pinging that those states are really under attack. Henceforth, GEJ is becoming to loose my support for him. Can't his instinct tell him that he needs to overhaul all the security agencies? Imagine the type of attacks happening on a daily bases, yet he keeps repeating same speech that he would bring perpetrators to book. MADNESS!!! |
jennykadry:why unbelievable na? Don't you that it is now part of celebs culture? Am aint surprised o! |
I feel by the end of the wedding, she would have had cuts on her body. How could someone wear a glass-like type of wedding dress that would not give her comfort? Am very sure that she is not free inside that her masquerade dress. Women get WAHALA sha. |
Rocktation: |
And if I may ask some of our infuriating nairalanders, how long did it take USA to track down Osama Bin Laden? I guess its just under 1year abi? Una no even get a pinch of sense at all. Let's just pray for our country and minimize this castigations on mr president. |
Na wa o! So few or nobody thinks anything good would come out from this country of ours? Anyway, no matter what your predictions might be, just remember that if we are not involved in any casualties, our loved ones or other people loved ones would be involved. As for me, i predict a robust economy in this country. |
In as much as i dont so much like our force tactics to curtail these vampires and heartless set of evil creatures, i know that someday BH will still become a history. |
Because of this heartbreak of a thing, i sincerely find it very difficult to fall in love. Maybe am been justified when i dont tell ladies that i love her. But any day i will open my mouth and sincerely say 'i love you',trust me that's automatic marriage. |
Could sane person please tell me where shaharereporter get their annoying stories from? How possible could a president of a country gets the backing of evil and the doers? The only thing that keeps bugging me is that sh1ts are said in this country and they go scot free. Anyways, anymore revealing, ridiculous and annoying news? |
