PoliticsInterrogating The Competence Of The Key Presidential Candidates - Climate Change by OsunOriginal(op): 11:14pm On Oct 19, 2022
Nigerians should begin to interrogate the competence of the presidential candidates as they unveil their manifesto and share their views on key national and global issues.

Once a week, the competence level of the three main presidential candidates in an area will be briefly reviewed. Today, my focus is on the climate change topic.

Tinubu:
Responding to a question on climate change in Kaduna, Tinubu responded with a parable asking how a church rat could be stopped from eating a poisoned holy communion. By church rat, he meant a poor country like Nigeria and by poisoned holy communion, he meant those practices that contribute to global warming. His point was, for poor countries like Nigeria to implement those carbon emissions-reducing practices, funding is required which we don't have. Therefore, the West must be ready to provide financing if they want us to comply.

Obi:
When asked about climate change, he struggled to put a statement together and later gave up saying he didn't know anything about the topic of sustainability/climate change. He left many people wondering how someone who wanted to be president of a country couldn't speak to an important topic such as this.

Atiku:
Responding to a question on the topic, Atiku said climate change is real and the flooding disaster the country is currently facing is one of the aftermaths of it.

From the above, the only presidential candidate who appears not to know anything about climate change is Obi.

Good night my people shocked shocked shocked

He should also tell INEC to shift election day - dumbo.
The same man that did nothing as a governor despite all the ecological funds he collected is asking serious contenders to stop campaigning. If Obi was a competent and caring governor, half of Anambra won't be underwater today.

PoliticsRe: IGR 2022 : Ogun State Generate More Revenue Than The Whole Of South East by OsunOriginal: 2:19pm On Oct 19, 2022
ForumNL:
South west generates 51.2% of the totally revenue generated in 2022

Out of which Ogun State (Non oil producing state) alone as a state generates almost equal amount with South East (A region with 5 States) and far more than North East

Also Oyo State (non oil producing state) generated half of what south east region of 5 States generate

At that, if we are to remove Lagos for south west
Remove Abuja for middle belt
Remove rivers for South South
Remove Kaduna or Kano for North west and let north east remain 6 grin

South west still leads all other region with large margin considering only 5 States per region

And from the stat it's obvious Anambra and Ondo are the mates here likewise Kwara and Enugu are mate

When we talk of industrial hub give it to Lagos and Ogun
When we talk of mineral resource, give it to Ogun
When we talk of Agriculture,give it to Oyo state

Yoruba Lagba
With all their noise, only one state in SW generates more IGR than the whole of SE.
Anyway, this shouldn't surprise anybody. When a people are more into illegal and underhand activities as means of making money, there is no way their IGR will grow. They are adding no value, just illegally making and washing money. Abi, how do we get IGR from a drug or 419 business?

PoliticsThe Two Powerful Missiles That Landed On Pdp/Obi's Supporters Yesterday by OsunOriginal(op): 12:55pm On Oct 19, 2022
- Wike Endorsed Sanwolu (the APC governor of Lagos) for a second term. Many believe this is a pointer to something bigger.

- Buhari to unveil Tinubu's Manifesto and campaign council on Friday. The camps of PDP and Obi have been insinuating that Buhari is not supporting Tinubu. This news rattled them as it is now obvious Buhari is not only supporting Tinubu's ambition but also leading his campaign. This will unarguably make Tinubu the candidate to beat in the north.

Chidoka made this assertion in an interview with Channels TV’s Politics Today on Tuesday.

According to Chidoka, the moral burden is more on Wike than the  PDP, and the party needs to review his processes and procedures.

PoliticsRe: Buhari To Unveil Tinubu’s Policy Document, Campaign Council On Friday by OsunOriginal: 5:43pm On Oct 18, 2022
Bukayosakes:
President Muhammadu Buhari will on Friday at the State House Banquet Hall, Abuja unveil the manifesto and policy document of All Progressives Congress (ACP) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The President will also at the event inaugurate the APC Presidential Campaign Council to formally kick start the party’s campaign.

President Buhari is the chairman of the APC campaign council and has said he will personally lead his party’s campaign and deliver the votes to ensure the victory of Tinubu and his running mate, Kashim Shettima.

President Buhari is expected to mobilise the Northern votes for Tinubu because he is known to be still very popular among his supporters who trust him as a very honest and upright leader despite the economic headwinds in the country.

At the ongoing three-day ministerial retreat in Abuja, Buhari reeled out the achievements of his administration across all sectors, especially in infrastructural revolution and agriculture.

The APC presidential candidate has said he will continue with the programmes of the Buhari administration, especially where successes have been recorded and improve on areas there are still challenges, adding that he will sustain the legacy of Buhari if elected President.

The list of the leadership of the APC campaign council was released about three weeks ago and it generated some controversy among party chieftains and key stakeholders who alleged that some party interests were not carried along.

The controversy prompted the party’s National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu to write a leaked letter where he protested the alleged sidelining of the members of the National Working Committee.

WesternPost gathered that Tinubu directed the management of the campaign organisation especially the Secretary of the Council, Hon. James Faleke to liase with governors on the platform of the party, the National Chairman and other aggrieved interests to harmonise their positions.

A source in APC told our correspondent that with the final harmonisation of the list and directors, the campaign council is fully ready to hit the campaign grounds across the country with President Buhari leading the charge.

“APC and our candidates are ready to start our campaign now. We have a united front and full house keeping has been done. The President will inaugurate the campaign council on Friday and also launch our manifesto which we are taking to Nigerians. We are sure of victory because Nigerians still trust APC and believe in our Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to deliver the goods. Our candidate is competent and he is the best among all contestants,” said the source.

PoliticsRe: Peter Obi's Full Speech At Arewa Interactive Forum by OsunOriginal: 1:47pm On Oct 18, 2022
SpecialAdviser:
It is an honour to return to the City of Kaduna and to participate in the Arewa Joint Committee Interactive Session, and rub minds on some fundamental issues germane to the future of Nigeria.

I thank the leadership and stakeholders of the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation for their gracious invitation.

I wish to preface my remarks by setting out our mission and vision. We are all Nigerians. I am a Nigerian running for the Nigerian Presidency to serve every Nigerian. I continue to insist on a show of respect for every candidate, ethnicity, religion and person.

The mission and vision of the incoming Obi-Datti Administration is to give full expression to our democracy by moving our country from consumption to production; we shall achieve this by giving primacy to implementing the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Our dear country today has become a shadow of itself. Indeed, there is evidence that Nigeria exhibits two known indices of a failed state; parlous economy and loss of territory and emergence of ungoverned spaces.

The purpose of politics and governance is to generate economic and social progress for the citizens in larger freedom. But the status quo is the reverse. This is more so here in the North, where poverty, unemployment and insecurity are the new normal.

The North has the highest number of out-of-school children in the world. It has highest number of school kidnappings in the world. The North also has the highest number of internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Nigeria.

The vast agricultural lands of the north - the so-called food basket of the nation stand desolate and abandoned. This situation is painful and needs to be fixed. Great nations are built through visionary policies, programmes and projects, anchored on the people.

This was always the hope and wishes for Nigeria by our founding fathers. Sadly, things changed. Our leaders became selfish, myopic and stopped listening and caring for the common man. Bad leadership, divisive rhetoric, and impunity became the norm.

Nigerians have suffered; they have lost jobs, and lost their farms and herds and their trust in our leaders. That narrative must change.

The Nigerian people want solutions to the many problems confronting them. After all economic prosperity for all is an all important aspect of a successful leadership, there is hope. We know this for sure. A new Nigeria is Possible.

But we must return to dreams of our founding fathers to create an egalitarian society. The Nigeria we seek will be a United and Secure Nigeria that symbolizes the spirit, letters, and exhorting ethos of our national anthem – “one nation bound in freedom, peace and unity” where “peace and justice shall reign.” As we seek to come to power in May 2023, we are aware of the daunting array of domestic and external challenges confronting our dear nation, and we are fully prepared to lead from the front.

We are cognizant of the domestic policy challenges that have accumulated over time; and that the lack of adequate public policy responses has made them worse, with a devastating impact on national unity, social cohesion, public trust in government, and economic performance.

We have a grasp of prevailing challenges.

Nigeria’s needs and unmet needs are very huge. Yet hunger, insecurity, poverty and deprivation know no tribe, religion or gender.

With all sense of urgency, we will, pursue aggressively policies programmes and projects to enhance the productivity and competitiveness of all the sectors of the Nigerian economy.

For the North we will do the following:

- a) We will offer immediate and decisive long-lasting and permanent-effect resolution of all security challenges in the North;

-b) Ensure that farmers return to all farmlands for the 2023 farming Season. We will make Nigeria’s arable land in the North her new oil and gold;

-c) As part of our Marshall Plan for Education, we will foster Federal intervention in education at all levels in the North and partnership with State Governments and international organizations in order to improve access to affordable and quality education at all levels;

-d) Ensure very adequate representation in government, equitable appointments especially in the Security and Economic Sectors;

-e) Incentivize the resuscitation of the moribund cotton and textile industries; and full exploration of the cattle economy value chain, notably the $75b global hide and skin economy. Nigeria’s share of the global industry is envisaged to generate over $1bn by 2025;

and finally,

-f) We will ensure very generous deployment and allocation of economic and social projects and infrastructure in the North – with keen attention to Roads, Energy, Power, and Dams- and Solar energy from Sunlight.

In closing, let me say this on record. I have come in peace to develop, to secure, and to unite, and I will do so with every commitment to the growth of Nigeria, as one great and united country.

We shall pay as much attention to the development of the North as to the development of all other parts of the country; but with much greater emphasis on the development of the Agricultural resources.

The North remains where the biggest ad sustainable wealth of this great Nation lies.

If elected President, I shall govern with the fear of God and with all good conscience and intent. The Constitution and the rule of law will always prevail.

I thank you for your kind attention.
May Almighty God bless you all and bless Nigeria.

THE CHURCH RAT AND THE POISONED COMMUNION; wisdom of Bola Ahmed Tinubu explained for ndi iti

The church rat is mankind. The poisoned communion is the eco-unfriendly practices western civilization introduced to the world. So, my principal, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu was accurate to use that anecdote to describe climate change.

We had a more eco-friendly way of life before the western world brought us industrialization with its unsustainable practices. So, the western world should take the bulk of the responsibility in reversing climate change. So thinks my principal and he can’t be farther from the truth.

The Jagaban of Nigeria is wisdom personified. It is only the simple-minded who would make caricature of such a scholarly outing as was made by the incoming president of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
