Asa’s album ASA is still my best album from Nigeria, but ever since, ASA began to lose it bits by bits. I guess she had this track for years but wasn’t proud to make it public. But now that wiz kid is global, she could use his reach, but then it’s a very underwhelming song. It’s not as underwhelming without Wizkid. Definitely an accomplished but rather exaggerated somebody; no one in Nigeria even knows the foreign award she won; but she was always on NTA advert as an internationally acclaimed singer with Soyinka that year. Yh, she won a French local award, she appeared reserved and intelligent, the smoothness was apt in her songs. “The Prix Constantin”, that was the award; which is not as acclaimed as our Headies. She had/has a very great sound, but she’s lost in the art of it. Now, her sexuality as an appeal has taken over her great sound. Her best album is still ASA, followed by Beautiful imperfection; which ranks in my best Nigeria album of all time but others are just there and sadly it has made her become an up and coming musician. At her brief prime, she could have done something with Beautiful Nubia, Ty Bello, Infinity, Brymo or Lagbaja and fewer others; but for whatever reason; she took a long break from music but never returned. I think Davido would have helped her better in this album: She wasn’t even proud of the feature, no promotion as expected yet whatsoever from her side. She could have been greater than Stromae in her visuals and stories; if she had not made such visual quest interfere with her song writing ability. But the song without Wizkid is fair. She could have used a Lagbaja or Brymo or Beautiful Nubia , rather than a very busy WIzkid, passionate about global features. |
When will you do a thread on refugees fleeing herdsmen attack, bandits and boko haram insurgents? |
The more Putin is characterised as 'weak' in the face of Ukraine, the more he may be willing to show strength. The more estranged or alienated he is made, the more absurd his actions might become. |
In all of these sanctions or decision to support , what matters is having a leader who is looking after his people’s interest, & not his/her own perception everywhere else. “What does this economic warfare mean to my people” should underline the sanctions proposed but woke leaders would do otherwise. Also, a reason why Russia has not been invaded is because they are a nuclear power; having nuclear is a defensive strategy. If Al-Qadhdhāfī had, he won't be killed like a dog by Obama. Iran knows; and that's why any sane & strategic leader knows to develop such capacity. |
Do you know Wizkid has a track with Asa? |
What medical check up will take 2 weeks? What are they checking up? |
Hehehe. Ooni and Alaafin doing Tinubu’s errand. |
What about the displaced communities? They should also be a stakeholder. |
So after walking out, they will bring out their phones to hear or read what he has to say. Theatrics lot. |
Hehe. What is she there to do really? To warm the bench, to observe to what end? if not another means to rip and mismanage our resources further… The allowance she and her entourage was paid though for attending is more than your annual salary. Modified Somebody indicated that she was there to lobby the law-makers as regards the bill to create more space i.e additional seats for women in the national assembly. If that is her purpose, what a wonderful gesture actually, but the issue is, lobbying is often done behind the scenes; she had not had the kind of profile that her presence would intimidate any of the law-makers to change their minds concerning how they would vote. If she was any really about the bill, she could have lobbied effectively that such could influence the law-makers charge, she would have approached the presidency, approached the leaders of the oppositional parties, rallied women to further her purpose; there is no report or a hint of evidence she did any of these, except this theatric of attending the seating and pretending to care or pretending to know she has an iota of idea, what the bill of reference even is. The truth is she was there, because it looked good for her husband ambition, to improve her own perception! She was there to observe!!! Nothing more!!! She has had the opportunity for years, to revamp her influence and position herself to reflect or advocate policies that translates to the good of average Nigerians, but No, she is most prominent for attending social events than she is known for any other. Not once has she lent her voice to the nations failure to get Leah Sharibu or the hardship of the economy in this current administration, not once has she lend her voice to the many laws holding women back in Nigeria or the intra gender subjugation of women in the Nigeria civil space, or the objectification and cultural oppression of women of Northern stock. When the president said women are meant for the other room, she didn't stand up for women, not once did she. Even Aisha Buhari did. She has no obligation to do, but we also have no obligation to pretend we think she cares or give a damn about anything than her husband ambition. Our political affiliations shouldn't make us short sighted; if we rebuke these people in positions of influence for pretending and playing to the gallery, perhaps they would actually act in our collective favour and not pretend away, waiting for the next person to die so as to visit or the next marriage or Owanbe among high brows filled with people who looted us blind. Again, she wasn't at that plenary to lobby; to effectively do that, she knew what she needed to do; and that is part of the reason why the bill to create more space failed; because there was no concrete effort, except bid to get pictures and appear in national stories as serving an under-represented group in her nation. And the truth is, her gesture costs tax payers money, all of the funeral visits costs tax payers money and she would be financially richer for attending; while those she pretends to represent continues to be scourged by her husband administration failures. We should prefer a warrior fighting for us than some down to earth somebody, that is agreeable to the existing system of compliance regardless of the value proposed. Peace |
I think Onyema and air peace need to recruit a spokesperson that understands the Nigeria terrain adequately. Saying you know his father does not show Onyema has the intelligence to continue to navigate the Nigeria business terrain. Saying you dine with the father of the Emir might even get you killed centuries ago. Saying the conduct of the Emir’s entourage is embarrassing infers an insult to the Emir as well, and Onyema is only being a wise guy. It’s not your place to say if he is a troublesome person or not. By such statement, it’s rather inferred that the emirate is being troublesome. You could have just said, “The Emir is our father; it’s just a misunderstanding really and we are working on resolving the issue amicably’’ As a business person in an environment, where traditional institutions don’t count so much, Onyema might think it’s permissible to mock the intelligence of the emirate; but when the emirate (which is essentially the Nigerian state) strikes back, I hope Onyema can handle such. I honestly don’t rate this Emir highly, seeing, he is engineered by Ganduje, who has no integrity; whatsoever:. Despite such, I can only say this because this is a faceless platform and I am not some airline that is a National carrier. Onyema and Air peace should know to satisfy the Emir’s ego and avoid this escalation that has become an embarrassment to the Emir. Nigerians may cheer you on, and absolutely, they should; your decision not to delay the plane is the right one; but your forth and back with the Emir or Emirate ever since, has been very inadequate. Be sure the Ooni , the Alaafin, the Sultan, the Emir loyalists in most of our parastatals and the other ranks are taking note of your subtle ridiculing of their Emir. |
The debacle in Afghanistan shows the west is not reliable. Their economy interest supersedes whatever alliance or friendship. |
It is better to say, you got your education from Russia, than from Ukraine. |
Putin don’t care about being in your good books, he cares about his people and history. Someone who is so driven changes the world. The west used Gorbachev weakness, his need to be in their good books to destroy the USSR. Napoleon, Sun Tzu and Alexander, all revered in the world today were similarly driven. If we had leaders like Putin in Nigeria, we would still have Bakassi Peninsular and be a richer country for eat. |
yet when people protested and wanted such to stop during the endsars protest, it was the same police that attacked them, the police will also attack retired police violently, protesting that their pensions be paid. It's likely in the east, police are now paying IPOB for protection. |
Obasanjo tells Tinubu. |
This is really crazy. That is about 43% increase if the base fee is 35,000. As at last month, was closer to 30,000. Which is actually 67% increase. Taking flight has again become a luxury for the very rich. The middle class in Nigeria has endured skyrocketing prices all round, it seem there is a scheme, to push them into the lower class. If Green Africa, a fairly new entrant in the industry is not doing the astronomical and outrageous increase, then the others are only not just harsh or unfair but greedy. Fuel, exchange rate, the priority for safety are their justifications, but the truth is , they are tired of the average Nigerians questioning their services or why their is a delay in flight. They are now saying they will no longer fly average Nigerians. Only a while ago, the base wasn’t even 35,000 but 23,000. Now, it’s 50,000. Buses would also double their fare. Shouldn’t NLC help people across the country get an equivalent increase in their take-home? NLC don’t care!! |
Nigerians also want to celebrate. |
Integrity is been straightforward and having the courage of your convictions, doing what you believe is right and not fearing to speak out. It is sad that Osinbajo has traded his integrity for loyalty to Buhari, not for Nigerians. There are better people to vote for, than these lots. |
Right. |

The doctor invited your husband to provide a service to a patient he has an obligation to. The doctor probably wanted to be sure of your husband’s competence. Your husband took offense and railed against the doctor, who invited him. The doctor probably at this moment, wanted the agreement terminated. So, your husband asked for his fee. The doctor declined because of your husband earlier dismissive attitude. As the doctor felt it was your husband who erred the agreement. Yh, you are a professional, but he has a duty to his patients. If your husband did a bad job, the patient could sue the doctor who recommended your husband. So your husband, already livid, insisted on getting paid. He came to the hospital with Uber. He can’t just walk away. So he began to raise his voice. The doctor told him, he was being a nuisance to the facility. Your husband became more angry. The doctor told him, to step out of the facility or he will be forcefully removed. Your husband was boiling. He was trying to get hold of an item he could have a lien on. And so somewhat, after been emotionally overwhelmed, your husband became physical in his quest to obtain his money. The doctor wasn’t as physically strong as your husband who was willing to get into the doctor’s pocket forcefully. So after, your husband held the doctor’s head underneath his shoulders, the doctor bit your husband to free himself. Your husband realized no doctor would refer or invite him anymore. As his reputation is now damaged due to his conduct. Although the doctor didn’t bite your husband brain off, may be in earlier fight. Because if your husband is thinking right, should have shared the doctor’s name and picture, so that you can not only embarrass him but equally destroy his reputation. |
ASUU knows that the federal university is probably the last hope of the common man; your education is actually subsidized!! You see the amounts paid in private universities, that is the amount you will pay, if Federal school becomes self autonomous and then, federal government no longer has any responsibility as it relates to higher institutions. Is it in lecturers interest, that federal government hands off? Yes, it is. That way, University lecturers salary will be sub-charged to students school fees, and school fees will simply just become affordable only for the rich. Only the rich will get an education. That will be the fate of the common folks, the Parents and students struggling to even pay the little that is basically exam fee and registration fee. You can check the agreement of ASUU with Federal government online if you are any diligent. ASUU’s primary want is that universities be funded, so that students can learn and be competent enough as their colleagues from private or foreign universities. Lecturers welfare have actually never been on the forefront of the struggle and the truth is the average lecturer is been pushed to the wall, that they don't have a damn to give anymore about funding universities, they just want to be paid reasonable salary... But ASUU sees itself as the champion of common folks, and the common folks will stone and crucify ASUU in the end. The issue is not that, ASUU makes new demands. The issue is the FG continues to renege on what they agreed to. So, they promise and they don't fulfil it. It’s the school fees that our senator’s sons are paying abroad, that students will end up paying if they continue to be ignorant about ASUU’s struggle. ASUU knows that the reason why some lecturers may resort to sorting and other malpractices is because their pay can’t even get them home, but yet members welfare is not foremost in ASUU’s demand. You can check, a graduate assistant abroad is earning more than a professor in Nigeria. There is a continuous brain drain, our best minds are harvested by universities abroad. There is no motivation to have a career in teaching in Nigeria!!! To access knowledge, you have to subscribe to journals, you have to do research, attend conferences… your most honest lecturers are poor folks, your honest professors can't do decent lives; to reach those stages of their career, they invested their paltry salaries in self development. If you are a first class graduate in Engineering , that is why you would choose to work in a bank, than teach. Because your salary in a year as a lecturer, is the monthly salary of some bankers. We attend congested classes, where you cannot really optimally learn, our laboratories are not equipped, our libraries are empty… we will never be equipped for the world, we will never pioneer any development, we will never be able to generate electricity by ourselves, or make toothpicks. Are we capable? Yes we are! Despite the situations of things, our lecturers are still coming up with patents and inventions that rust away in their dilapidated backyards, until they get it sold to China, who uses it to change the world, and become an economic and technology powerhouse. Some of your lecturers don’t even want ASUU to make such demands in the interest of the people, because it’s in this decayed system, they have rooted themselves, but ASUU keeps on holding the line. |
You should use some of it to protest the government that don't give a damn about your lives or time. |

Very commendable direction. |
It’s the federal government that is causing the strike. They keep reneging on the agreement they have with ASUU. Even ASUU members children are children from poor homes. |
