If true, what is the inclusion criteria or were they just randomly selected ?? |
The issue was likely that; it wasn’t only a divorce from his wife and kids, rather it was also a divorce from her wealth. And so much, that it overwhelmed him. |
Give her a room in Aso-Rock already. |
Abacha’s swag is top-notch. |
It’s likely the case, that the sentences run concurrently. Gives him less than 2 years. As he cannot escape the 2years whether he pays a fine or not, he may not exercise the option to pay a fine. |
I don’t know Pete Edochie in whatever manner. But I can talk to how I think, he is perceived. I guess he is perceived as the quintessential African patriarch. I guess Zack Orji too. I am sure such perception is not diversed from the movie roles he’s accustomed. Such perception is an inadequate reference in the character of the man. For instance, he has just one wife and a lovely family. This is not consistent with perceptions that sees him having ideals that subordinates women. What would his advise be? To tell his son to leave Judy ?? Nah, this is not consistent with the perception. What is consistent with the perception is that he tells his son to take responsibility. He has erred, but what is to be done?? Become a polygamist, the wife accepts her fate, and accept the junior wife… everybody moves on. And when the wife don’t think so. The baby is still an Edochie, She will come around. |
At his age, Ronaldo was winning highest goal scorer in seria A and the biggest EPL club wanted him. |
His presidency is inevitable. We should pray for God’s intervention; but in what manner do we want God’s intervention? Is it that God should expose the manipulation and rigging of the election, so that it can be annulled, before inauguration?? The same God that provided assent to the emergence of Buhari or Hitler or Idi-Amin. Or Is it that regardless of the shenanigans that have occurred; and in the face of God’s will to permit such, that God have mercy upon us, and help Tinubu’s administration to move the nation forward. ‘?’ The two prayers have already been made, but God’s will at last, always come to pass. We can only pray that His ‘will’ be good. |
The attackers of Professor Soyinka are on standby. Tinubu’s administration is inevitable. If he says Nigeria will not prosper during Tinubu’s time, these lots will cheer him, as messiah of democracy. It’s the problem with the lots that Professor Soyinka was about. |
The only thing this tells us about how he died was that he struggled with breathing. |
So it should be Ibadan or Enugu. |
Yes. Increasingly, the British throne is not averse to diversifying its descent. While, as at now, the possibility is that of a mixed race, and not a person with full African ancestry. In generations to come, a black person can emerge. If the firstborn of Prince William, Prince of Wales marries a black person. Prince George is second in line to the throne, his firstborn surely will be king. But the firstborn will be a mixed race. Obama is a mixed race; if he is black enough for you, then substitute ‘mixed race’ with ‘black person’. To those referring to ‘ostracism’ - Harry would not be king and this is no predicated on any decision he has made. He is not the first born Prince, there was already Prince William and his children. Except, by some unfortunate means, such as the event where they all perish (if we live in the seven kingdom of Westeros ‘Game of thrones’, this is a distinct possibility) or become ineligible ( either by renouncing their claim or converting to a faith that is incompatible with being the British monarch. Then Harry would be and then Prince Archie, who have got Meghan in him, would be king. Parliament also has power to change the law of succession, this could make Prince Archie emerge. ( This is possible, but highly unlikely, because it will be extraordinarily strange) |
It is possible to have a transplant in Nigeria. When we rebuke, we should be critical. There are no factories producing kidneys anywhere except you go to some ‘dark markets’ . So, if Nigeria is built well, as you rightly desire. The Ekweremadu’s concern would not be on where to do the transplant. Their concern will still remain foremost, which is to get a donor. In this Nigeria of your dream, the boy’s two kidney will have been yanked off. In a sane country, which should be your dream. It’s not only infrastructural issues that requires reworking, it is also our orientation. |
Take advantage of the boy?? The boy took advantage of a sane environment. But I think it’s just terrible to cheer the family’s misfortune. The family could have erred, and their inactions or refusal to use their influence in the past, may have cost lives, that they should deserve our utter contempt- but we shouldn’t mock them nonetheless. Of coz, they are likely to understate the consequences when discussing with him, but let us assume they didn’t and instead, they explained to the boy very well, what the long-term effects could be. Of coz, there shouldn’t have been any monetary incentive, but I think many would be willing to support such a request, with cash or other supporting incentives. (A crime ??) Let us assume, the family that needs a donor thought so too. For the donor, could the monetary or other incentive be more propelling or compelling at the onset? Let us assume it was. His kidney was going to be yanked, he wouldn’t give that without a promise for exchange of another reward. Let us assume the boy was naïve, and he was underpriced. If he wasn’t underpriced, and the supposed donor wasn’t short on intelligence. Could the donor experience decisional regret? Of coz he could. In fact, recent studies on decisional regret among donors, indicate that younger age and lower education are predictors of regret. So regret was an item and when it was time for the procedure, it became more stark. So stark, that the ‘affective’ theatrics couldn’t help; of coz, he knew that it was only because of the transplant, that anyone cared. Such reflection on the expectation of care can be sufficient to create an utter dissonance and complete turnabout. After this, the Ekweremadu’s probably couldn’t keep him any longer, the promises of reward or the reward given were withdrawn; he is to return to wherever or whatever condition he was from, with his kidney. They were probably others as well, putting pressure on him, invested in all of it, with a rebuke for the boy. So, what could he have done? Now, we know he is not likely returning to that condition he came from and he’s still got his kidney. In a year or two, his family would be with him in the UK. Was Ekweremadu naïve and exploitative? Perhaps. Was he an organ trafficker? Then, he must be foolish as well to have decided to have the transplant in a standard hospital in the UK, and not in Iran or some shady place, where the donor’s consent is not required. |
At the tertiary level, I have always thought that current or recent published articles should be used in creating course contents. I hope whatever shift, incorporates the obsolescence that AI is revolutionizing. |
He offered to give the boy £6000 for his kidney, when according to medical futurist, a kidney cost £209,400. We know Nigeria lives are probably worth-less. |
Alcoholism is a medical condition. Anyone can have such condition. Is he fit to serve with such a condition? NO!!! Are there similar police officers with such condition? Yes!! , many. Were they alcoholic before they joined the force? Probably, not so. Serving in the police force exposes one to situations that predisposes an individual to alcohol dependence. Having to work at odd hours, the physical and mental exertion the nature of their work depresses, the trauma often experienced, yes, they have to be at accident scenes, encounter other violent intensive situations. Substance makes it easier to cope with the aforementioned. So if it’s a job specific issue, why is he not fit to serve? Alcohol inhibits the ability of the officer to make decisions that has mortal consequences. What can be done? It can be argued that alcoholism is a disabling condition. However, if professional support such as psychological therapy are accessible by the officers, and there is control over how much alcohol can be consumed and such is done in a safe hour, not before duty, and further, the police authority engages more hands to reduce the work experiences that spurs the problem, we may begin to address the issue. This officer is probably lost on cheap and dangerous alcohol. There has to be consequences for him, so as to deter others. However, if such consequences is to fire him, and not provide a much more concrete solution to the problem of alcoholism, we would continue to see officers like this. |
Our own Hunter Biden. |
But Peter Obi told Bishop Oyedepo in the call, that the election was a “religious war”. This unnecessary and dishonest evasiveness diminishes him. One could reasonably justify why the election would be characterized as a religious war. |
Aba has only to blame its senators and governor. Whosoever appealed for an extension, should be the desired quality the rest of us should desire in our representatives. |
This is a great application or audition to push the author’s candidacy forward, in Tinubu’s consideration of his own Femi Adesina. |
Dividend paid is not an evidence of the performance of an entity, except if the management is charged with improving dividend per share. A company earnings per share is a better indicator of stewardship. The low dividend pay-out remains contextual. If earnings are great, is it retained for investment or retained for growth opportunities or the company is just not key in committing to return values to shareholders? Elumelu strategy might have been to pursue strategies that undervalue transcorp stock in the interim, so he can buy more shares at a lower price and deter dilution. This is market manipulation and if not pursued diligently, can be detrimental to the company’s performance or reputation or even to his own stake. About the potential for greenmail, it would have been great if you suggested in your article how implementing policies such as poison pill or having a shareholder rights plan, may prevent such hostile takeovers. Similarly, you could have mentioned how Elumelu reaction or response could encourage other hostile investors to pursue similar action as Otedola, hoping to receive similar payout. In addition, are the existing shareholders better off in the short- term? It is an important question because if Elumelu is buying back the stock at a premium, it means in the short term at the minimum, there is an increase in stock price. However, it is important to clarify that it is not Elumelu that is buying back the shares held by Otedola. It is Transcorp that is buying it back and paying the premium, so the cost of the greenmail is on the company and its existing shareholders, rather than only on the existing majority shareholder. Of coz, Elumelu is in charge of such decision, and now he has used the company fund to protect his own interest. Perhaps, in the dinner, Otedola would split the gain with Elumelu, and Elumelu will be better off from the expense of other ordinary shareholders. |
Matthew 23:23 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dill and cumin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faithfulness. These you ought to have done, without neglecting the others.” |
Philippians 2:5 In your lives you must think and act like Christ Jesus. Matthew 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Folks here don’t even pretend to be in sheep’s clothing. |
Emir Sanusi’s mandate was his people. He fervently pursued their interest and was willing to rebuke those who had chosen to pursue personal interest at the peoples’ expense. This was an unforgivable ambition to the political elites, who keep weaponizing poverty as their foremost re-election resource and have held the state ransom to underdevelopment. It was unforgivable to the gandollar governor who wanted an emir that will serve at the pleasure of his intent, and not serve the interest of the people or be courageous enough to demand good governance. This emir was too much threat to the northern elites hegemony. And so, an emir who evidences their greed or at the least, is willing to be blind to the excesses of elected officials and is willing to be superintendent on narrow minded customs was more desirable. In fact, an Emir who is dumb and with a quarter Brain only for pleasure and reception, would have been the governor’s foremost choice for replacement. Not one, trying to act in whatever guise as some check. I am glad Kano may get back its Emir that is raving utter about the lack of affordable healthcare for his people, that is passionate about the employment of his people, that is willing to call out the representative or appointed official that has not provided potable water, or decent infrastructure as schools. I am glad Kano may get back an Emir that doesn’t care about the Cheques from those exploiting his people, and is willing to endorse only those who have shown commitment to the proper ideals or pass a vote of no confidence on those who have veered of from ideals sacrosanct to the progress of his people. He is an Emir who is interested in the cultivation of his faculty to serve his people and wouldn’t trade his tongue for the throne. That is a man who can cause a shift. |
This is her own DADDY. The picture is for those with mental slavery who still thinks customs such as displayed is antithetical to the west. Such displays shouldn’t be a criteria in assessment of her performance or competence.

One can actually do a PhD thesis on Buhari’s laziness. Fashola also called him lazy when he said the inverted below. “President Muhammadu Buhari is the type of football coach that will sit in the dugout…and believe there is nothing he can do.” Raji Fashola |
The Lagos CP is some fresh air. The supervisors of erring police officers should always face the music for failure to ensure their subordinates act properly. The supervisors documentation of past infringements and their recommendations on such erring officers could tempo the music they’d have to dance. There is dereliction of duty when subordinates police officers on your watch are derailing justice or abusing their power. However, if they are told they will also be culpable, senior police officers at the grassroots level would begin to ensure their subordinates acts properly. While the CP is admirable in derailing the miscarriage of Justice, the whole case is just an indication that the police institution needs an overhaul of orientation. People shouldn’t be able to use their influence or wealth to bend our police force to their will. Bebex could hire 20 senior advocates who also dine with powerful judges and compel the case in the judiciary, but he cannot redeem his reputation and that of his acquaintances and those who continue to empower him by doing businesses with him despite his abuse of our women and our justice system. While wealth and power would at the personal level compel or diminish our perception of character; as it did with Burna or Senator Abbo, who used their influence and power in a similar manner, we know that although they have eluded our consciousness , they won’t when the essence of accountability shifts in us, for all their misconducts will be revisited and their foremost legacy will be their abusive charisma. |
Bashir was cozying to those the US perceived as arch enemies. He couldn’t remain a friend to North Korea and sanctions should serve. They destabilized the state, And made Bashir reputation take the fall, when the sanctions bit the people ousted Bashir, legitimized a coup. Again, immediately, a diplomatic relationship non existent before, was initiated. Yet they kept training and sponsoring the weapons for the state military they have infiltrated. On the other side, a para military which was not so influenced by the US was emerging. They were a threat. Gave the state a missile guided destroyer and other warships. They tell the rest of the world - the two actors in the conflict are both struggling over power. US has an interest in that conflict. It is one of the two actors. there was a time, Nigeria was a big brother. |
Star boy Portable. He is a better news material than his contemporaries. Channels TV covers even his beefs. But then- Are you aware that former accountant general of the federation (Jonah Ogunniyi Otunla) has had his membership certificate and license to practice; withdrawn by ICAN? So when he was the accountant general, he looted the federation account. Afterwards, in order to avoid prosecution, he returned 6 billion Naira to the FG. Stealing is against the ethical standards of ICAN, and also he had not behaved with integrity in his role as the Acct general of the federation. For years, ICAN invited him in respect to petitions received regarding his conduct in his role as the accountant general, but he shunned the institute with utter disrespect and ridiculed the institute by absolutely disregarding it. So, ICAN told him to return his membership certificate and that if he does not return it in 3 months from March, 2023, his name is automatically struck off from the institute membership register. If he does comply accordingly along with some other consequences, the withdrawal of the certificate and license to practice will be only for a decade. The fellow is a made man, and has no need of the institute certificate, it also appears, he has no need of his own reputation. The institute on the other hand although have had its reputation soiled or sullied by the conduct of Mr Otunla, the institute, however by its decision to withdraw the certificate is redeeming or salvaging what is left of its own reputation. If Mr Otunla is truly repentant and wasn’t just stitching loose end by his decision to return some of the funds he looted, he would then have also in good faith, disclose to us, those whom, he allowed to loot us of billions more. Mr Otunla is the reason our hospitals are in terrible shape, he is the reason our roads are in a terrible state, he is the reason FG has borrowed billions and put your unborn generation under the burden of servicing loans, which were only looted by Mr Otunla and his cohorts. Yet, you do not even know his name. That said, Is it the end of journalism in Nigeria if the aforementioned information is not newsworthy ‘?’ because while there is time to talk about Portable, you will not even see or hear of any follow-up with officials such as the acct general who have cases of financial misappropriation. It appears the media in Nigeria is complicit in proof of such invisibility, and the media not paying attention or choosing to disregard such reprimands - is only serving to provide incentive for public officials engaging in looting and other repugnant behaviors for which, it is the masses that is robbed and shall pay - either with their lives or with an utter diminished quality of the life they are suffered. In saner climes, the media might help create awareness about the conduct, and even serve a pressure group function in calling for such professional consequences for officials involved in such practices- but no, the air time is better spent on Portable. ‘His story will provide a better return and more engagements, and we will still be in the good books of Mr Otunla.’ |
‘Lynched Driver’ ? He is a son, he is a father, he is the husband to another. His statistic is little in being a driver and the motivations behind the mob action is little in him being a driver. It was that he was alleged of being a ritualist or looking better. If he was in a rickety vehicle, his outcome might have varied in spite of the accident that served to introduce him to a tragic end. That said, about a decade ago, in Unibadan, a student was stripped naked and paraded around the halls. He was involved in theft. Such was not the norm, however, it was the case then, that a thief will be mobbed and the students leaders or hall elders would endeavor to get the culprit to a secured place so that he can be handed over to Abefele (the school security). Students can as well put a call through to the school security to avoid an utter descent into chaos. The point however is, in a community of reserved minds molding our society character, such events do occur. Again, If such mob actions could occur in an intellectual community, it can occur anywhere else in the country. Just some weeks ago, A 500 level student was killed in OAU by his fellow students. He was accused of being a petty thief. While the outcome is isolated, the events leading to the outcome is the norm for those alleged or caught in such misconduct. Is it up to a year, Deborah was killed in another institution of learning- just because she felt a platform created for educational purposes shouldn’t be abused for religious purposes? There was an endorsement of the disaster she was meted by most on the side. In Adamawa too, a former VC was stripped naked and mobbed in a case of mistaken identity. They thought he was the INEC official that declared a winner in the gubernatorial election. Many on the social media celebrated such mob action and there has been no outright condemnation from the mainstream media that is busy pandering to a movement where mobbing others for their political beliefs or endorsements or affiliations is the order. Anybody can be a victim of mob action. In all of these cases, fewer people had the courage to intervene. Anybody can be accused and on the basis of allegations, mobbed. Anybody can also be falsely accused and on the basis of such allegations, mobbed. In my experience of such despicable spectacles, my interventions have been nil. The orientation I was inculcated was such that, if there is a fight, do not intervene- just walk away, because there are those who have lost their lives in an effort to be peacemakers and that the blessing that Christ in his sermon on the mount assured for such peacemakers is perhaps not worth much than being alive in one piece. So it has been, if there is a public disturbance brewing, just take the other road or street. And so it has been, if a mob action is taking place in my street, I stay indoor. However, that mob action could be on an acquaintance or a relative. And by refusing to invite law enforcement officers or take any reasonable action, I have contributed to the murder of such fellows. Let us reconsider our orientations. This incident in Akure would not stop another mob action from occurring in Onitsha. But then, if local community leaders are charged with the responsibility for and rewarded for protecting those at the whip of mob actions, there may be a reduction. We also have to make a spectacle of capital consequences for those that take the law into their hands, even when the victims of such mob actions are culpable. Finally, we have to as responsible citizenry endeavor to take quick actions such as escalating any event to law enforcement where a mob action is likely to occur. During ALUU 4 , such an escalation was done but the police failed to save the day. Failures of such reputations has to be met with remarkable disapproval and even consequences for officers involved. There was perhaps a police station in proximity to where this action took place. They should also explain what actions they are taking to ensure a re-occurrence do not occur. The Police should be alert to such events. It’s public , and saying that mob actions occurs in a very brief time is just an admission of incompetence. It is such incompetence of the law enforcers and incompetence of the judiciary that mob leaders have used in justifying their actions and the recruiting of the public to participate in murder. While such remains a deterrent to concrete actions that may be done to allay the prevalence of incidents such as have occurred with Olorunfemi, we must begin to be courageous and lend ourselves to participating in ensuring humanity is restored on occasions of blind rage. |
