PoliticsRe: Real Reason Sheikh Khalid Was Sacked - Farooq Kperogi by othermen:
He was sacked for saying “life is sacred and killing is bad” threatening the recruitment of young ones by the lots that sacked him.

Or you don’t know it’s that same committee that is probably sponsoring the bandits and terror.

He was sacked because he had the effrontery to threaten apathetic politicians that there will be no one to vote them in the next election.

He was sacked because he was courageous enough to speak truth to power, that the government has failed in its primary responsibility of security of lives of his people.

They removed Emir Sanusi for even less.

He was sacked because he is a threat to the indifferent attitude of the northerners to their plight.

The sheikh now has a bigger megaphone. He is now more popular, he can be a voice of reason, inspiring away the apathetic average northern fellow reared in illiteracy, reared only to serve as a vote.

You know they are considering sacking Pastor Adeboye -right? They might just revisit his retirement.

Sheikh Nuru Khalid is a national treasure.

SportsRe: Joseph Kabungo, CAF Official Dies Following Stampede After Ghana Vs Nigeria Game by othermen:
Those that died in Kaduna, deserves more than our thoughts.

In the beginning of the match, no respect was paid to our National loss. We shouldn’t even be playing that match when the whole country is mostly broken.

And yet the people would waste their energy on this lots, when the outrage should have been towards this clueless administration.
TV/MoviesRe: Will Smith Faces Losing His Oscar For Slapping Chris Rock by othermen: 9:36pm On Mar 28, 2022
Glad to see that the oscars  is not condoning such assaults.

Condoning the assault on ChrisRock is condoning the Charlie Hebdo shooting. Dave Chappelle or Ricky Gervais deserves physical and violent assault too.

WillSmith and those not condemning his behavior ought to be very ashamed of themselves. The joke was not even deep.

And if Denzel came to the ceremony with his brain and heart; it was ChrisRock that needed and deserved the warmth.

In this army.

There are those that are members that are currently studying abroad, sponsored by the Government.

There are those, whose posting have never been in any security challenged area.

And then there are those, posted to seek death.

May God’s watch be over our nations military personnel’s.
CelebritiesRe: Pastor Ghandi Olaoye Of RCCG Selected As New Soun Of Ogbomoso by othermen: 9:05am On Mar 26, 2022
RCCG encouraging their members towards leadership position is indeed great.

There was a time, the churches looked powerless, when a fellow asked many of the General overseers to resign. The fellow was successful because the churches little political acumen.

With the new realization, RCCG should be considering how to get its members as justices of the Supreme Court too.
PoliticsRe: Osun 2022: INEC Releases Final List Of Gubernatorial Candidates by othermen:
Adeleke here and there.

As a senator for such a long time, what has he accomplished for the people on whose mandate he serves?

Of coz, his people outrightly sells him as an individual from which it is possible to reap the dividend of effort and loyalty. He will give you state contracts, if he likes you. He is a cheerful giver, who likes partying and dancing.

If you sing his praise, he might just sign the state treasury away to you.

In Anambra, they did not elect a dancer; and that will be the difference in years to come.

To be clear, I don’t rate academics in politics any additionally highly.

Professor Ayade of Cross River is a testament as to the reason why I don’t. Obiano of Anambra is a fellow, chartered accountant- yet all he used his knowledge for, was on how to cover the tracks to establish or discover his looting prowess. Governance skill is not necessarily a variable of Academic prowess or exploit.

However, despite this, I don’t think we should dismiss candidates characters and outlooks. Senator Adeleke is a socialite who is known for his social extravaganza, not for leadership or for development. And he would be governor or Oyetola, a stooge of Tinubu, who in the last 4 years have done nothing remarkable for the Osun people -would remain governor.

The reason why we have to choose between either individuals, is not because of the power or wealth of their political parties, but because of our collective indifference and apathy.

If half the numbers of youths decide to be card carrying members of the two major political parties, we can exert pressure in the primaries and get more qualified candidates to represent us and lead us to development, good governance and lead us out of unemployment, bad infrastructures and insecurity.
PoliticsRe: Betta Edu Faces Disqualification From APC Convention Over Electoral Act by othermen: 7:55am On Mar 26, 2022
What matters is who her sponsor is…and who her opponents are.

The laws or conventions are respecters of persons and interests.
CrimeRe: Doctor Owen Edo-Ojo Stabbed & Shot By A Drunk Navy Officer In Lagos (Photos) by othermen:
You didn’t just stop at slapping him or punching him, but decided to stab and shoot as well?

If this fella died, he’s gone already.

At the very best, the personnel is given a death sentence too.

…but what about the equivalence of life? The personnel death should not fill any gap created by his absence.

Let us stay away from this armed men, their lots are hungry and angry. Their brain is not optimal. Their mindset is shallow and ego driven. Their outlook is finding a pathetic avenue to expel their grievances.

In our interactions with them, no matter how provoking they are, let us be peace minded, de-escalation minded. Even if we feel insulted, we can seek remedy from the complex or institution itself, and shouldn’t seek or expect or demand such from the many we encounter.

If we see them approach, we should flee. We are not cowards for deciding not to endanger our lives.
Foreign AffairsRe: Peter Szijjarto: Hungary Won't Refuse Russian Oil And Gas by othermen:
In all of these sanctions, what should matter to you is having a leader who is looking after your interest, & not his/her own perception everywhere else.

“What does this economic warfare mean to my people” should underline the sanctions proposed but woke leaders. “Can we fill the gap that has occurred, such as supply to the nations affected?” “As Russia is in a weak spot, does that give us an advantage in negotiating trade deals with them?”

In Nigeria, that should be our outlook;we should be thinking, how can we benefit from the issue? And yes, with an absolutely amoral attitude. Even America’s posture no matter how characterized, transcends amoral stance. They may believe whatever show of strength redeems their image as the world only super power. The responsibility and benefit that comes with such an image is known to them.

In the past, they have invaded countries because of their human and natural resources.
America and most of Europe is built on the back of Africans and the rest of the world naivety. China is taking similar posture, by venturing into Africa.

What was Ukraine reaction when America invaded nations in the past? Did they show solidarity with Libya or Iraq? What was Ukraine reaction when Mandela was sent to prison for apartheid? Did Ukraine support in whatever bit of way , our war against Terrorism? What has Ukraine done for us, that they deserve our sympathy and that we should be courageous on their behalf by condemning their aggressors? Those compelling us to condemn their aggressors would even invade us, destabilize our region if we are unfortunate enough to be powerful enough to influence global supply of oil or energy.

Again, in all of these sanctions, what should matter to you is having a leader who is looking after your interest, & not his/her own perception everywhere else.

PoliticsRe: ‘scum And Traitors’: Frustrated Putin Threatens Anti-war Russians by othermen:
Hehe. Protesters for election integrity in America were also called “scum and traitors” and spat out into prisons.

The Canada convoy protesters for sanity against horrendous Covid 19 mandates were also called “scum and traitors” and spat out into custody.

The EndSars protesters against police brutality and extra judicial killings were called criminals and anarchist deserving of having their blood fill up every stream in Nigeria, ‘by Femi Adesina’ safe for the fatherly nature of Buhari … were eventually spat out into unknown circumstances and graves.

Putin learned from these ones.

But she was all of those other things before, alongside some other good ones.

And her good must have outweighed the inadequate.

Now if the inadequate is outweighing the good. I hope it’s not because of envious ones; telling you , you don’t have control over your wife.

We can do bad belle a lot. Even messaging him privately, that if he likes a black African woman, we are a better alternative to Korra.
Foreign AffairsRe: Barrack Obama Test Positive To COVID-19 by othermen: 9:44pm On Mar 13, 2022
Quick recovery Mr Obama.

If it was Trump, the media would have bombarded everywhere that it was due to his own (Trump’s) recklessness and irresponsibility and disclosed his retinue for contact tracing; we would have known how many people he likely had infected; ensuring everyone he met since a while are self-isolating with no privacy.

This is dangerous and reckless rhetoric.

Jonathan is a Christian and RCCG didn’t endorse his second term.

The church has not even taken a position; just creating political awareness and discouraging apathy is the aim.

This fellow have just created insinuations and by this article sow seed of discords and make the very ignorant gear towards religious notions in their political behavior.

It’s rhetorics like the one in this article that inspires violence and religious intolerance.
SportsRe: Benzema Breaks Champions League Record With Hat-Trick Against PSG by othermen: 12:32pm On Mar 10, 2022
Benzema deserves all the spotlights he gets.

While Madrid invested a lot in Bale, Hazard and others as Ronaldo’s replacement. Benzema has been the one aspiring to Ronaldo’s impact.

If Mbappe moves to Madrid, he would have to compete to be the central player. Unlike in PSG where Messi and Neymar remain mostly invisible and without impacts.

I hope he knows that many potentially great players have lost it in Madrid, but if he does well there, he can join or even surpass Benzema and Lewan to dominate world football for the next few years.

CelebritiesRe: Korra Obidi's Husband, Dean, Is Divorcing Her by othermen:
Korra is a very enterprising individual, she’s beautiful and she’s a star. You may not have or share her values, but it’s in being different, that we are distinguishable.

We should respect people’s choices even if such doesn’t align with ours. She dances, she generates interest, she is an influencer, she makes money; she has used her platform to promote her husband, she has used her platform to promote up and coming local musicians, she has inspired women, that it’s possible that after childbirth, you can be attractive. And she has done most of these, along side- her husband…but above all, listen to her perspective, she educates. Her joy and that of her family whether together or not is what matters. That’s what matters, not our opinions.

Personally, I have always admired the family from a distance; the happiness and bonding that is projected is what every family should aspire towards.

but whatever it’s that is now happening; they know what’s best for them. It will seem that beneath all of those shared joys, all those projections; they had a cost, that they also had their own issues and that perhaps their is a toil their choices might have had on them. Is it a time to mock or beat Korra further down or justify her situation ? I don’t think so and I don’t think it projects anyone well to do so.

As I know that what is best for their fans may not be best for them. I can only wish them what they wish for themselves. If reconciliation is feasible, I’ll be glad. If it’s not, I believe they would still share their joy which would alleviate our heartbreak for their situation.
Foreign AffairsRe: Video Of Fire At Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant By Russia Troops by othermen: 12:29pm On Mar 04, 2022
Even Ukraine main stream media do not carry the war news as we have here on Nairaland.

The next Ukraine item to hit the front page might be ''Ukraine President goes to toilet while his country is at war''.

We have pressing issues too in Nigeria.

Foreign AffairsRe: Fire At Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant Extinguished By Firefighters by othermen: 9:53am On Mar 04, 2022
Despite the emergency situation and chaos of invasion, there is still coordination among essential services providers.

I have a dream that one day the fire service in Nigeria will not say they don’t have fuel for emergency situations, that even if they have fuel, they don’t go to the scene of the fire with empty reservoirs.
CelebritiesRe: 2baba Reacts To Show Poster With Burna Boy’s Name In Larger Fonts As Opposed To by othermen:
Hehehe.

Music is not like football, where your ability disappears with age.

Today, Burna is more prominent. There was a time Olu Maintain was more prominent than 2face. There was a time Tony Tetuila was more prominent than 2face, but then 2face that was prominent before the former is again more prominent than both of them.

2face should work hard and put more effort into giving good sound and stop believing the lies that he’s some legend and so he has to leave the stage or he doesn’t have to work so hard. 2face can do music that can appeal globally or to any generation of Nigeria. Rema continues to appear on Obama’s favorite playlist. Music ultimately in its sufficient quality is universal.
TravelRe: Ukrainian Embassy Says Nigerian Volunteer Fighters To Pay $1000 For Visa, Ticket by othermen:
It’s Buhari’s recklessness and irresponsibility, the hard difficulty of dying (living) in Nigeria, which Buhari has made hell, that drives Nigerians to want to fight for a nation that has a reputation of racism towards Blacks people.

While the Russia soldiers may see their Ukrainian counterparts as their brothers and not intensify their attacks, they may not be so lenient with Nigerians, who are simply seen as war mercenaries.
Foreign AffairsRe: Lindsey Graham Calls For Putin's Assasination by othermen:
On the platform (Twitter) , more people have called for the assassination of Putin and top officials in Russia. Wishing serious harm or death is dangerous and against Twitter terms of use but why haven't twitter taken action? why is hateful conduct now acceptable?

Yh, because it serves their narrative. To get into Russia, destabilize it, install a puppet and take their energy or install a war oriented general and make billions from an European war. The call or demand should be for peace, with each party concerns addressed.

In Libya, where Obama administration led the assassination of Al-Qadhdhāfī, the region is still crisis torn and rift. In Iraq, where President Saddam Hussein was killed, he was only replaced with extremism and terrorism.
PoliticsRe: Sunday Igboho Begins Negotiation With Beninese Govt Over ‘Health Status’ by othermen: 7:10am On Mar 04, 2022
227 days and another six month? What again is been investigated if not that the Benin republic government is just wicked, irresponsible and unfair.

Yes, he broke the immigration law or even assaulted an immigration official…but that doesn’t mean he should be detained forever without charge or without having his charge heard in a court.

The right thing to do is to prosecute him where the judicial system can either fine him or sentence him for his wrong. But just leaving him in limbo so long is more abuse that no suspect deserve such infringement.

Benin Republic had an opportunity to choose between the Nigerian people or its callous, indifferent government. They chose latter.

Whatever they stand to gain, Buhari will soon be gone but we will not forget this.
