This is very revealing but it could have been more revealing if the reaction came after the ex-staff of the college had been allowed his submissions.

Attacking him as he was just getting started to reveal the flaws in the school would only discourage him from talking about the rest that may matter.

He was not a member of the school management or a member of those in charge of the hostel or the supervision. He was just a staff, who wanted to share what he observed from his own desk.

The emotional outburst from the parent, the rebuke of the fellow would cause other staffs to do quiet.

For this ex-staff, I hope he is willing to appear when he is subpoenaed or ordered to appear as a corroborating witness in the court for the plaintiff.

The college lawyer should also write to him, to intimidate him of an oncoming slaughter of litigation for furthering the case against the school; this will teach others to keep their mouth shut too…while the school management uses it influence in the media to navigate and color the coverage of the incident.

In a sane institution, it’s the lecturer that is a failure. A failure at conveying the needed knowledge. The students obviously did very well in their CA and so, are competent.

I think the family taking bold in the direction of this tragic incident, is a commendable and intelligent decision.

It’s foolish to keep quiet because even an acquittal by the police investigation or the court, would not acquit your boy from the conduct he has been alleged especially in the heart of millions of people across the world, because of the ill reputation of our judicial system.

Unless, the whole truth is revealed and there’s justice, the deeds of your boy would live and outlive you all. It’s now prominent than anything, his father, the senator did.

The release come across, as though the Kashamu family is the one leading the defense of the suspected bullies and the Kashamu family is the chief generator of the narration that the boy merely was a victim of school activities as it relates to sports.

If they had simply and solely removed their son from the list of the suspected bullies, families of the other bullies would have been forced to react and so in whatever release aimed at shielding their boys, they had to take into consideration the other boys too and I think this difficulty exposes the release, in its entirety of denial, as one reeking of guilt and aiming to swindle the public from the truth.

Finally, No one is cyber bullying your family, they just want justice to be done. Those that are clamoring for justice are enraged as any reasonable person should be, owing to the accident. What they are not, is an enraged mob, that would find Kashamu family house and burn it to the ground. Of coz, you have rushed out for fear, that they may not burn your household name to disrepute or ruin…I don’t think this is the intention of the heat, that is why I think talking about his father as a drug peddler is unnecessary, the intention again is rather to ensure that justice is revealed and done or served.

No shared sympathy, no acknowledgment of the parent sorrow, no shifting in their narration, they stuck to an absolute position, that the boy was merely delirious, and it was a tragic occupational sport incident not deserving of the reevaluation of their sports ground, a tragic fatal occupational sport incident not deserving of an half mast flag of the school.

The parent, were they in the school of the masses, could wield their influence and shut such school, but not in Dowen College, the school for the sons of kings and elites.

Make no mistake, 90% of what we consume is from the developed nations, they can get to us if they have ulterior motives... so I am not suggesting they have ulterior motives, as from birth, many of us got the polio vaccine, most of our drugs are produced by those making the vaccines... but my objection is, why their is no quest or inquest to understanding why the casualty is very low in Africa and Nigeria and allowing that to be the basis of such a remarkable decision.

I think the end matters here than the means to the end.

….Or rather than forcing the family to take her on, when they would rather not; is it possible we set her mind on higher things, put her through some therapies, that repairs her mind and her esteem, clamor the implementation of an affirmative action on her behalf (Like the FG promises to implement 5% of jobs for persons with disabilities) and that by empowering her, we restore her esteem and mental health and she becomes again attractive to those who may have abandoned her or even better, become visible to those who should cherish her.

It seems, she has identified one or two businesses she could do, which is great… but identifying or having a flair or momentarily passion… is often not sufficient… so that the next story is not how she was fleeced or how her condition hindered the success of her idea, despite the fund received or how she gave the fund to Okpara in order to rent his love. I think she has to commit to a due diligence on her part, this shows efforts and an understanding of the scope of what she intends. I ask how many places they have been in Africa or Nigeria to make such judgment as to the character of countless people?

I ask what record or history or findings is cited to support the assertion that thousands and thousands and thousands of societies in Africa were built on patriarchal and almost all the men are misogynist?

I ask what personal experience is had where women despite their qualifications are put in subordinate positions to incompetent men?

I ask if such experience is inherent in Africa or prevailed due the adoption of the Abrahamic religions?

Africa has separate cultures and I think it is a terrible judgment when a sweeping generalisation is made.

The WAEC result she has is already a reflection of her ability or competence.

To write the exam and pass, I am sure she applied the needed efforts and studied beyond the range of her current syllabus or the syllabus required at her level.

The purpose of school is to facilitate learning or aid teaching, the purpose of the exam is to get evidence that the students has acquired knowledge, the result again is an evidence that she has acquired knowledge.

Is exam a good test of knowledge? I don’t know a better one.

Is her result an evidence of her knowledge? Certainly, at the moment.

Was it possible, she was assisted in her exam center during the course of the exam, and the result is not actually a reflection of her ability? Absolutely possible.

These questions and many more, which you have first hand access to, should drive your decision about the fellow.

If the result is a reflection of her ability, then I see little point in her repeating the process. The truth is, more students from secondary schools in Nigeria don’t get the green light on their first attempt of the external examination <WASSCE, NECO>.

Do they repeat the final class? No, they attend private tutorials and take the private exams. Are they then inadequate? No, they are not.

If the result is a reflection of her ability, I think she should be given the opportunity to forge ahead, she should use the time that may be wasted in the pursuit of what she already has, to pursue what she is yet to have or gain.

What matters is, she doesn’t stop learning… so register her in a reputable learning center where she will be prepared for her subsequent exams (UTME & Post UTME).

I believe the UTME consolidate further even on WAEC in terms of the confidence required. The UTME questions are more technical and demanding in knowledge; this implies, she will still be gaining knowledge at the secondary level, but a knowledge her supposed peers do not have access to, and a specific knowledge oriented towards her intended course of study in the higher institution. Her actual peers now are those who have passed WAEC and are preparing for the UTME.

However, if there is any indication, that the result is not a reflection of her ability, and that she is still much lacking the knowledge she is to be imbued or instructed in her final secondary class; then I think she should focus on learning and acquiring the expected knowledge at the level.

If her competence level, is slightly behind, then you should enroll her in both UTME and the SSCE simultaneously, with the UTME being the priority.

If fund is only available for one or limited fund, let her go for the UTME, then complement the UTME, with her also attending tutorials for those wanting to write WASSCE. She would gain the needed knowledge from such tutorial.

However, whatever you do, be reasonable in the pressure you apply on her; it’s important you apply pressure, so her ability don’t rust away. Her success is not an excuse for binge watching of series or TV shows. However, cut her the needed slacks.

If she intends studying accounting, she is currently qualified to write the ICAN exams at the ATS level. Again, such exam is only a further consolidation of her existing learning and knowledge.

In Nigeria federal universities, register for your postgraduate, be remarkable in your studies but more remarkable in your relationship with not only the academic staff, but also the non academic staff; serve as a graduate assistant and research assistant pro Bono, ask how you can assist with grading or supervision; be willing to take role in a not very prominent university or an university out of your comfort zone;

On the other hand, get a politically connected person. Actually University appointment is often based on research capability and acumen than it is on your grade. Your class of degree matters, but it is secondary to your attitude. Many lecturers have a 2.2, but did remarkably well in their ability to manage relationship with their teachers and remarkably well in their post graduate studies.

On the third hand, search for scholarship abroad, they often come with assistantship, if you take proper advantage, you will be retained; you have to be purposive about the school you are applying and be in the knowledge of the availability of such opportunity in such country and school.

On Zenith Bank official page on social media (Facebook especially) you have loads of fraudsters using the name of the bank. A naive or distraught customer making a complaint is sometimes not responded to by the bank, but then a fraudster with the name of the bank contacts you or responds. I don’t know why the bank allows this on their official page.

If you check the screenshot, the name of the official page of the bank is very similar to the one responding to the customers complaint and the naive or distraught customer in the heat of resolving the issue, is taken advantage of. The second screenshot shows the misleading fake blue tick on such fraudulent account. I hope the banks follow up on such activities on their page and remove such fraudulent pages.

I hope the individuals that certified her dead are appropriately investigated.

This will determine if it’s a case of negligence, and help to avoid future occurrences where people who are not dead but unconscious are put in situations where they actually then die.

The cadaver used for dissection is expected to have been embalmed. I understand it doesn’t have to be the case, depending on availability or unavailability of bodies…but examining the suitability of the body which should be done, makes the urgency observed with the desired use of her body as a cadaver for dissection, questionable.

A graduate student has the opportunity to student assistantship, of scholarship- abroad. They help develop members of the society there. In public universities in Nigeria, it is peanuts that is paid, the young and older academic are depressed in their inability to afford a fair and decent lifestyle and regretting in their decision to choose humanity by teaching.

Were not ASUU, in most Nigeria academic institution, wave of nepotism creeping in, imposing incompetent and agreeable lots in the employ of the university would have rotted Nigeria public universities and selling certificates and degrees for undeserving but otherwise financially capable individuals would become the ladder out of the ruin experienced by those in the academics.

Bubu and your other rulers don’t care, they can afford any universities abroad for members of their family.

The government must fix the Civil Service and make it attractive to our best minds. The Civil Service can build the Nation. The government must make teaching positions competitive by increasing the motivations of such positions. The products of our academic institution, if properly equipped, can fix our societal issues.

Only competent and willing academicians can help do this.

Genevieve and Wizkid, no doubt, possesses amazing style and class…but celebrities know that a Mo Abudu or Funke Akindele has more star power to influence their careers than Genevieve. You will find such style with Soyinka and Asa, but despite their huge or partial accomplishment in the matter of the latter, you will find folks (not largely ignorantly) choosing an Adichie’s team to a Soyinka’s team only for the snob’s’ to realize that the greater part about the choice they made is in the inclination of their choice to snub.

Being classy does not make you a snub and I don’t know Adichie or Genevieve to talk to their personal outlook or behavior…but I understand, like anyone, they may be thought of as that.

In the end, many of the celebrities will prefer to work with Mo Abudu and Funke than with Genevieve. And Genevieve is a brilliant actress at least in the past… and a meddling director with perhaps massive potential but her legacy is digital and her best ability as at today, is in her scarcity. Her support to her colleagues or upcoming actors if existent, are very private, as she hasn’t used her platform albeit very publicly for such promotion as you will find with the likes of Funke.

That said, you will find our Nollywood superstars aspiration to be to featured in an Hollywood movie as undermining their quest for global recognition. A Genevieve would be willing to feature in Coming to America 3 for an uncredited role, because she rightly sees Hollywood as the global stage for her profession, that is why Omotola and the rest would call their greatest achievement in the profession, joining the Oscar voting academy.

…and so, conquering African awards, they do not only not think much of our local awards here in Africa, but they belittle them…and that is why there is more depth to the lowliness in Nollywood as compared to the Nigeria music industry- globally. Of coz, if African Movie awards didn’t prioritize popularity over quality in their choice of nominations or didn’t capitulate to reputation over performance, we would have Nollywood stars sharing shoulders with the best in the world. (Not what Kunle Afolayan is trying to do, Kunle is trying to take advantage of people who are established in their fields regardless of their talents in performance or acting, hoping it can drive their fan base to become his own movie audience…he would cast Buhari’s daughter because of the advantage he stands to gain but of coz, it’s not a terrible thing to do and interestingly, because he is a good director, he can invoke performance in a statue) So while Davido, Wizkid count for international stars, such cannot be said of Genevieve… but of coz western validations don’t make you the best, that is why Davido is the bigger artist than Burna man, even though Burna music is favorite.

I think Don Jazzy may not exude the class that is seen with WizKid, and May goof plenty around, but Don Jazzy has created more stars than Wizkid has. More celebrities know too- that, Tunde Ednut is a star creator and star booster, so a Tunde Ednut is even more influential than Wizkid in that regards of celebrities power. You should look Tunde Ednut following from the views he has, not necessarily from the number of followers he has.

Most celebrities are trying to increase their own following and so they are remora fishes attaching themselves to sharks. Their admiration of the sharks is in a bid to increase their own visibility… and so Genevieve has a different following they hope to gain…and so in a scarce post by Genevieve, you see them hovering over as flies. A Funke Akindele is not scarce and so they have many opportunities to loiter. It’s so with Davido too.

I guess Davido has more international and local celebrities following than Wizkid. If Davido want a Naomi Campbell as an escort, he would certainly get a Kardashian.

Jesus Christ spoke to power, and he was on the blacklist of several authorities(political and religious authorities) in his time, and he was eventually executed in a brutal manner because of his actions and words.

He denounced religious authorities (the pharisees), he overturned the temple that has become a money making venture, he sheltered prostitutes.

Speaking up to the presidency or urging the presidency to remember the downtrodden is an act of love, rebuking the presidency for not doing enough to protect Nigerians is not disdaining or hating the presidency, but an act of love for those who are most susceptible to murder and kidnap, which is the rest of us.

It's irresponsible to equate speaking out about corruption, weakening economy, insecurity and a load of cardinal others, it's irresponsible and an evidence of depravity or bereavement of compassion- to equate such to hatred.

Christ also had hatred within him; Christ had hatred for injustice, Christ had hatred for sin... but he only had love for the sinners and the downtrodden. But our bishops do not seek to follow the footsteps of Christ. They want to be in the good books of the authorities, they are scared that if they speak out, they may be investigated and their financial improprieties exposed, they are afraid if they defend the downtrodden, the positions of power they hold may be withdrawn; it would seem the positions of power is not from Christ, that they would abandon Christ teachings in order to be legitimised by a corrupt and inefficient, 'murderous' administration.

When Jesus told us to give to Ceaser what is Ceaser's due, he meant that we should fulfil our civic duties or responsibilities as good citizens. And what greater civic duty can we have than speaking out when we see many murdered by the cops in extra-judicial killings, when we see many suffering and hungry, when our roads are highways to hell... what greater civic duty can we have than speaking out, than by admonishing this administration to awake to its duties?

Apostle Paul in Romans 13: 7 wrote, 'we must pay the administration what is owed'... and what is owed this administration is genuine truth, a conveyance of tiredness of the state of a nation in disarray....but of coz if the nation is not in disarray, and there is no poverty or hunger or unemployment or diseases, how many would be in this gigantic churches that don't care about them, but only their pockets?

It is upon the shoulders and back of those most displaced by the administration inefficiency that the foundations of several churches have turned. The poor is told to give all they have as offerings in order for Gods blessing, the bishops takes this, and live affluently ever after... while the poor remains unfortunate..., the bishop breaks bread with those that have caused the misfortune... so it will seem the Bishop also have an interest in the disarray state of the nation, because it is the source of their affluence. Most of the prayers in our churches would not be in a nation that has the right leadership and where things work.

May the spirit of Christ be in the Church.
