The money meant for the development of Rivers State would be disbursed to these ones.

They play for money and influence, not Wike.

Wike just happen to be in a position that commands their needs.

First time I saw Fubara, he did much remind of Chadwick Boseman. He seemed assured in the role with a massive aura, talent and potential.

I wish the family and loved ones strength and fortitude to bear the loss. It’s also our loss.

The debt is fulfilled.

Education / Re: Igboye School Students Stopped From Writing Exam Because Of Their Hijab (Photos) by othermen: 7:19am On Dec 12, 2021
This would have been a good report if it provided us with government position on hijab use in schools and also the objection of the principal involved, as to why the students weren’t allowed.

So no one has unlimited rights; the school principal has serious obligations and I think if the individual can justifiably show how the students right to Hijab impedes on whatever obligation she has, there can be a negotiation of thoughts to determine which is superior.

It would seem such negotiation of thoughts have existed over the years and the Lagos government directive is a deferential to the supreme court, that the student religious liberty to appearance be upheld in public schools in Lagos state.

I will try to talk to the position of the government as available, far back 2018. Since the year, it is possible the position has changed, however, I could not get hold of any such change in position. The instruction then which is perhaps still valid was fluid and left to the discretion of the Supreme Court.

The instruction reads

“Since the case of the use of Hijab in Lagos State is still pending in the Supreme court of Nigeria, status quo be maintained, to avoid contempt of the court, that is students be allowed to wear Hijabs on school uniforms but same must be short, smart, neat and in the same colour of the uniform (skirt),”

I think folks should be allowed to exercise what their faith dictates without discrimination from others or bullying and I believe as a layman in the subject of Law, the Supreme Court dictum would be based on the individuals right, part of which is religious liberty.

However for it to go up to the supreme court, the issue is not so layman, but that there are consequences or conflicts of rights that allowing Hijab use, forces.

What has been the status quo in the school? What has been the norm? Have they allowed the use of Hijab in the past? How have the students attended classes then? Was it with the Hijab? Are the parents of the girls all of a sudden insisting on their child’s rights to Hijab in the school, despite the leaning of the school to not permit it in the past? These and more are questions that if answered would aid understanding the scenario better, but while they are important questions, there can be no justification for flouting the government directive to recognise the students right to Hijab in such schools and I believe the Principal has no ulterior motive to do this as she risks if not her life, then her livelihood and her reputation to be fair and not be a bigot.

Overtime, I think fear is been incorporated into our institutions, but for years, Muslims have lived, submissive to the society at the cost of their belief or the instruction of their belief, yet overtime, fear is been incorporated into our institutions. By who? By folks tired of the oppressions Muslims may face, but Islam itself is oppressive compared to other religions, it has clear instructions of how to fulfil its mandate which is not consistent with peace or with the existence of a secular state, but increasingly, there is a rise in Muslims, protesting their abilities to exhale, a rise in Muslims seeking to fulfil some of the harmless instructions of their Quran, even here in the south.

Education should be a facility to liberate, and when our educational institutions becomes beholden to religious sentiments and rule, I fear the worse, but our educational institutions as well must teach tolerance and be the template for our society in the recognition of individuals personal liberty but damning the reason why Hijab may be objected to, can be a reckless course; to merely reduce those objecting, to Islamophobic is also a reckless course and it becomes dangerous in its proclivity for violence, that is why in some places, those who may objects get killed, while in the south here, it's increasingly becoming, that taking one's livelihood is the punishment or sentence for such objection.

If one is in a position to obey the state, to ensure the rights of others and one does not do that or betrays that duty, then it is right that such responsibility is withdrawn from them. The Principal is a case study, however the Principal may not so much be disobeying the state or disregarding or discriminating unlawfully anothers religious liberty, and that is why before asking for her head, we should give the head a chance to speak as to the reason. Somehow, that has or may not have occurred, but what I know is that what underlies her position is absent, and such absence raises my suspicion and even about the NewsMedia in its laziness, and in its inclination to divide people further and arouse dangerous sentiments across religious lines.

Career / Re: An MBA In Human Resources Or CIPM Certification? by othermen: 12:55pm On Dec 11, 2021
THE BEST PEOPLE TO ASK = HR MANAGERS

WHERE CAN YOU GET HR MANAGERS = Go on LinkedIn, search for top organisations or the organisation you intend working, check profiles of people that work in HR there, look at their qualifications. Let this inform your decision.

My Cent = It is important that you gauge the individuals advising you, on this platform, common sense or certification or qualification or certain experiences are not a requirement for being a member of Nairaland or for contributing. Linkedin is a better place to ask such question.

MBA is the most popular professional degree in the world, it gives you an overall knowledge of business (Marketing, Economics, Finance and other courses you will be introduced) with concentration on Human resource and you getting MBA HR is good for your career anytime, status wise.

SHRM, CIPM, HRCI are great professional qualifications in HR, but especially with CIPM, I may not see you as having an overall knowledge of the business as someone with MBA, but I will see you as very focused professionally and more HR oriented.

I think to be outstanding, the best path is to do both.

If one must do just one, based on my experience in HR, then I will say, go for SHRM, CIPM or HRCI, if you are solely HR oriented, the certifications requires a much more elaborate and detailed syllabus than you would get in an MBA. Also, when you ask in most organizations, you will find out that certifications such as ACCA, ICAN, HRCI, CIPM would likely aid your promotion quickly than an MBA. but there are some business schools that, the MBA there is highly valued even beyond the professional qualifications, but can you afford such??

I did a brief check for you to look at some organisations management team...you can check others as well

In UBA - Patricia Aderibigbe, is the Group Head, Human Resources. She does not have any MBA, but she is a fellow of CIPD. (CIPD is just like CIPM) https://www.ubagroup.com/leadership/

In FBN holding - Oyinade Kuku, is the Head, Human Resources. She is an associate member of CIPM and CIPD. https://www.fbnholdings.com/oyinade-kuku/

In KPMG - Gloria Ibeziako, is the Head, People, Performance and Culture (PPC). No MBA, but a member of CIPM (UK).https://home.kpmg/ng/en/home/contacts/i/gloria-ibeziako.html

In OANDO Plc - Ima Ofulue, is the Chief, Human Resource. She has an MBA, but she is also a Certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR) https://www.oandoplc.com/staff-member/ima-ofulue/.

In British American Tobacco, Nigeria- Temitope Akinsanya, is the former Area Head, Human Resource, she has now moved to East African Breweries. She holds an MBA with specialisation in Personnel Management. No known professional certification.

Nigeria LNG- Terhemba Emmanuel Makeri, is the GM, Human Resource. He has no MBA, but he is a member of CIPM. https://www.nigerialng.com/the-company/Pages/Management-Team.aspx?exec=11

there are several others, the above are just random. You can check three or four organisations too or check Linkedin as earlier suggested, with your findings, you can decide for yourself.

Femi Adesina again shows his immense talent in this remarkable piece; singing praises for the president for travelling abroad, singing praises for the president for disparaging Nigeria'ns' on the global stage for years and not losing an opportunity to show utter derision for the Nigeria people by blatantly assaulting their intelligence as he has always.

The true measure of the success of the president trips would have been who the president was able to convince to come invest in Nigeria or how many jobs for Nigerians such event has led to or is sure to lead to, the true measure of success would be how those trips have translated to an iota of alleviation of the issues confronting the people... The truth is, there are no such true successes, because if there is one, Femi Adesina would not stop suffocating our faces with it.

Femi Adesina however sings praises for the successes of Buhari's merry go rounding all over the world, trips with hundreds of unnecessary protocols, reveling in luxury, expanding the nation's debt. And by singing his praise, much disservice is done to the nation because Buhari thinks by such a trip he has accomplished so much for us to rest and it is such praises and such praise singers that have singularly perhaps become the most prominent clog in the wheel of the progress for this nation under a rather clueless administration.

By surrounding yourself by those quick to praise you for snoring or for farting and are so agreeable that they do not provide counsel or bother to convey reality to the presidency... the president lives in a blunder, a dire misapprehension, hence his cluelessness and hence our suffering.

Education / Re: Nigerian Scientists/lecturers Are Not Lazy! by othermen: 6:45am On Dec 09, 2021
Congratulations to the ones mentioned. We are a remarkable people and would do even more if the necessary infrastructure and support exists.

The criteria for this recognition is publishing in top journals, but many of the top journals requires not just an evidence of competence or relevance in your work or study or research, they also want money… so you pay to get published in many of the remarkable journals.

In the most cited universities in the Stanford study, or generally top universities worldwide, the university has a fund set aside for helping researchers publish in the high end journals, all the researchers has to bother on really is the actual study—/ , this is not so in Nigeria federal universities, some of the Nigeria based scholars you see, listed, paid the money out of their very limited resources to sponsor the research in the absence of a grant, they paid out of their meagre resources to publish the paper in an high end journal.

And this speaks to the passion of our academia in the country. There could be a lot more, if universities provide the necessary resources or were provided the necessary resources. And so if a private university, say covenant university recognizes rightly that publication in high end journals, relevant researches is the way to becoming an Ivy League contender, they put the resources to it, attract the best minds from our public universities, giving them the right incentives and they are up there. This is already ongoing, and it has been at the cost of quality to our federal universities.

ASUU is hoping to address it, but while they can get the government to commit, they can’t force the hand of the government to act beyond such commitment.

Again, we have to put our academics in a decent pedal, and pay them not necessarily what is obtainable everywhere better than our universities, but create a system that aids the visibility of their research outputs.

So I know we could do much more, I think we are not doing close to our capability in our universities or research institutions, I think the reason is because survival is the foremost need of most of the employees in such institutions; you cannot afford a decent neighbourhood, you cannot afford a creche for your child based on your salary, you have a non existent laboratory and yet they do remarkable studies, with the facilities they have...but between survival and the cost of publishing in high end journals, Maslow says rightly that survival is foremost.

However, I did a break down…

So there is the list that is based on authors career and about 186, 178 names are listed

Using Excel, I probed the data a little further. 162 countries are listed.

While the USA has 75,899 individuals listed, the UK has 17, 237 listed, Australia has 6369, Canada has 8127, China has 6943, Germany has 9986, France has 5912 listed, India has 2042, Japan has 7362,

In Africa, South Africa has 669 names listed, Egypt has 327 names, Nigeria has only 73 names listed which represents less than 0.04% globally.

In Nigeria, 12 are from UI, 8 from UNN, 6 from Covenant, 5 from FUTA, IITA has 4, ABU has 3 names respectively…no other university in Nigeria has above 3 names. Harvard University alone has about 1717 researchers listed.

while there is another list based on authors output just for the year 2020 and about 190, 064 names are listed. Again, using excel, I probed the data a little further.

About 165 countries were listed.

Hehehe, released by who?

I saw this information on Dowen’s college website about two weeks ago.

I am not sure why it is not there today, Perhaps to protect the staffs from social media lynching.

I hope you also release to us, those who inspired the culture of bullying in the school.

The boys were bullied, so they bully. Bullying is the norm, had the boy survived, he would perhaps also be a bully in his senior class.

The bullies actually just did, what passes in most schools, but unfortunately for them, a boy is dead.

No one would have known to trace, if the boy didn’t mention names.

Romance / Re: Who Are Those Marrying The Female Doctors? by othermen: 6:56pm On Dec 07, 2021
This is an interesting thread and quite funny.

I think what most reasonable ladies look out for is your competence and your drive and most especially your understanding and affection. They know that most well driven persons can attain even more than they have. So, an education or English student that is perhaps religiously driven and could turn out to become a prominent GO will be rated highly as a potential mate. Also, an individual who is business driven or politically driven, some could just even settle for your talents or appearance or effort.

Generally, their male colleagues are perhaps more interested in appearance and because of their status, May desire a partner that defers to them. So the male doctors or medical students may prefer a nursing student or a nurse to a medical doctor.

The female medical student that is so status inclined may sometimes lose out, her male colleagues have gone for younger beautiful ladies that will be available and controllable… and they lose out because with age, the older she gets, the less attractive they become, and so their status becomes the basis of their attractiveness which is not a great basis because at this later point, they just settle with whosoever that is available.

Be confident to approach, I assure you they may be very busy as students but they are waiting for you, and whosoever that looks down on you, without giving you a chance is really not worth it.

This is very revealing but it could have been more revealing if the reaction came after the ex-staff of the college had been allowed his submissions.

Attacking him as he was just getting started to reveal the flaws in the school would only discourage him from talking about the rest that may matter.

He was not a member of the school management or a member of those in charge of the hostel or the supervision. He was just a staff, who wanted to share what he observed from his own desk.

The emotional outburst from the parent, the rebuke of the fellow would cause other staffs to do quiet.

For this ex-staff, I hope he is willing to appear when he is subpoenaed or ordered to appear as a corroborating witness in the court for the plaintiff.

The college lawyer should also write to him, to intimidate him of an oncoming slaughter of litigation for furthering the case against the school; this will teach others to keep their mouth shut too…while the school management uses it influence in the media to navigate and color the coverage of the incident.

Education / Re: Michael Was A School Father For Sylvester, He Is Innocent — Kashamu’s Family by othermen: 7:24am On Dec 06, 2021
I think the family taking bold in the direction of this tragic incident, is a commendable and intelligent decision.

It’s foolish to keep quiet because even an acquittal by the police investigation or the court, would not acquit your boy from the conduct he has been alleged especially in the heart of millions of people across the world, because of the ill reputation of our judicial system.

Unless, the whole truth is revealed and there’s justice, the deeds of your boy would live and outlive you all. It’s now prominent than anything, his father, the senator did.

In time, most, when they hear the name ‘Kashamu’ would recall a bully and a murderer who perhaps got away with the act, they would little remember Kashamu, the senator, but we can remember Kashamu, as a remarkable boy who did right to ensure justice, realizing more, that justice was in his interest.

So, while I think this release is good especially as it relates to the attempt to convey to the public that their boy has been a protector and that he wasn’t involved in the incident, and also the sympathy with the family, I think this release failed though, when it went further in the defense of other suspects in the incident, taking up and spearheading even further the narrative that the death of the boy was not as a result of some bullying, but a sport incident.

The release come across, as though the Kashamu family is the one leading the defense of the suspected bullies and the Kashamu family is the chief generator of the narration that the boy merely was a victim of school activities as it relates to sports.

If they had simply and solely removed their son from the list of the suspected bullies, families of the other bullies would have been forced to react and so in whatever release aimed at shielding their boys, they had to take into consideration the other boys too and I think this difficulty exposes the release, in its entirety of denial, as one reeking of guilt and aiming to swindle the public from the truth.

Finally, No one is cyber bullying your family, they just want justice to be done. Those that are clamoring for justice are enraged as any reasonable person should be, owing to the accident. What they are not, is an enraged mob, that would find Kashamu family house and burn it to the ground. Of coz, you have rushed out for fear, that they may not burn your household name to disrepute or ruin…I don’t think this is the intention of the heat, that is why I think talking about his father as a drug peddler is unnecessary, the intention again is rather to ensure that justice is revealed and done or served.

Education / Re: Schoolmate Of Sylvester Oromoni Reveals How He Was Tortured By Senior Students by othermen: 9:59pm On Dec 05, 2021
The father and mother needed to work very hard to give their boy the best opportunity at life.

The father and mother, because they needed to work hard, thought the boarding school would be good to teach the child some independence, some discipline... and perhaps would afford them time to pursue other things.

The father and mother, found a school. It was a school, only the very rich could afford. The mother hugged her child and left him in the custody of those that promised to keep him safe, and make something better out of him.

The boy returns home, and says he was bullied, some boys, equally of very rich or much richer stock had asked perverted questions from him, teasing him about his sisters genital, tormented him emotionally and roughened him up.

The father and the mother, thoughtful and interested in their child's affair, listened... they reached out to the school, the school promises to investigate... to investigate the sons and grandsons of powerful individuals.

The school called the bullies, inquired from them to hear the bullies deny; the school needed an assurance from the bullies, that such shouldn't occur. The bullies laugh it off. They have seen the worth of lives from their powerful fathers, from their fathers friends, and they know, that their wealth and blood would save them from any noose in the country. The bullies laugh it off.

The father and the mother have to continue to ensure their kids gets a better, and that pursuit was more important to them. It was fine enough, the schools reassurance.

A boy returns to the school, a boy is returned to the den of those who had bullied him.

A boy was found, a boy was bullied, kicked in the head, made to gulp some harmful substances.

A boy, injured, was taken to the sick bay.

The healthcare provider in the sick bay with an indication that the injury was severe, immediately sought to transfer the burden to the parent.

The father and the mother were called, but they were far away, in their pursuit of comfort and security for their child.

Eventually, after days, the boy, weaker, was taken home, and then to the hospital.

A boy, told his parents he was bullied, kicked in the head, he mentions some names.

The school is contacted, a report is made, the school ignores, the school says the boy is unsure and perhaps delirious, that he got the injury from participating in sport (football).

The school stuck to this narration. The name of the school will be in jeopardy if it changes the narration, one of the bullies is perhaps the son of a prominent judge, the school sticks to the narration.

The boy dies.

The school lives on, acting as though nothing occurred. No shared sympathy, no acknowledgment of the parent sorrow, no shifting in their narration, they stuck to an absolute position, that the boy was merely delirious, and it was a tragic occupational sport incident not deserving of the reevaluation of their sports ground, a tragic fatal occupational sport incident not deserving of an half mast flag of the school.

The parent, were they in the school of the masses, could wield their influence and shut such school, but not in Dowen College, the school for the sons of kings and elites.

The parent, runs to the masses away from their co parents in the school, who certainly are sad and heartbroken, but are more fearful for the impact such will have on them and theirs, with an interest in sustaining the reputation of the college and fearing greatly, the harm that such a scandal could cause; it was better to just be quiet and wait for time to aid forgetting.

The parents, left alone, unsure of what direction to go, runs to the masses... the masses with their loud voices, were saddened for the dead boy... and so, they decided to stand by him, to ensure there is little justice.

The state (government) seeking so much to be popular with the masses, after murdering several of them, about a year ago... listen to the masses.

The government (state) representative is happy for the allowances she shall gets. The school treats her well too, and smile at her.

The bullies are taken to another part of the world, to be shielded.

The bullies are sons of government officials or the fathers of the bullies, are godfathers to government officials (elected and non elected)

The autopsy is done; the report reads that the injury the boy suffered could have been from a kick, and such a kick is common in the sport of football, and that when he fell, it affected him internally and there's a footballer in china who died too from playing football.

The autopsy is done; the masses have moved on to another issue. Dowen college resumes.

The masses pray for the day, they'll be able to afford to send a child to such a renowned school.

The bullies inherits their fathers government position and reward those who stood by them.

The prominent masses wish they had.

Crime / Re: Should I Get A Lawyer To Sue This Bank? by othermen: 7:35am On Dec 04, 2021
I think there is a policy that requires the bank to report unusual transactions in a customer’s account or to ascertain that such placement or deposit - is not a proceed of crime and cannot be for the purpose of crime or terrorism.
The amount received is unusual or inconsistent with the flow of activities in the account and it’s not commensurate with his occupation or type of business. This is the red flag…However, that said, I think as with many policies, they are tenable to tools of oppression by those charged with overseeing the mandate, especially when one gets to the mercy of the compliance officer, and the bank is not structurally competent.

I think, waiting all through the day, providing evidences as to the source of the fund, the bank owes the man a duty of pacification if they are yet to complete their due-diligence. Verifying the legitimacy of the sender or the legitimacy of the purpose may sometimes require time, but it’s pertinent that such is done within the ambit of concern also for the customers well-being.

Not being able to access your fund can be a source of distress and for certain population, may trigger health conditions dangerous to existence. It can lead to loss of reputation in many of the circumstances, especially when a third party is involved.
If there is a medical emergency and due to inability to access your legitimate fund under whatever guise, for treatment, a man dies.

The policy (regulatory) or the bank is culpable then and should be liable to damages then. That is why, there should be a policy for the timeline for such verification and if it must be extended, genuine reasons should be provided to the customer.

…But because you want to say, you studied in UI or OAU, you are offered zoology or biochemistry in place of medicine and you just allow them. The fellow who didn’t even get close to the admission cut off mark at U.I eventually got distinction in MBBS abroad.

Don’t let Nigeria federal universities destroy your dreams or take away the dreams and aspirations of your young ones, if you have the fund, send them abroad, their brain is adequate to be whatever they want to be.

We have immunoligists here in Nigeria and I wonder what they are up to?

Why haven't I seen a paper explaining why the casualties of the COVID 19 pandemic is significantly low in Africa?

It is a fact that it is low. As a direct witness, to the recklessness of Nigerians during the peak of the pandemic, I saw medical doctors without face masks or without any such protective measure, interact with the older populations with pre-existing conditions... and those folks are today, well and alive.

I have seen old people without face-mask, eat the virus as though they are eating Amala or Tuwo Shinkafa with Oha soup, and they are fine. However, it finally becomes a mandate that we take the vaccine, when somewhat our immune system had protected us thus far and continues to protect us.

Make no mistake, 90% of what we consume is from the developed nations, they can get to us if they have ulterior motives... so I am not suggesting they have ulterior motives, as from birth, many of us got the polio vaccine, most of our drugs are produced by those making the vaccines... but my objection is, why their is no quest or inquest to understanding why the casualty is very low in Africa and Nigeria and allowing that to be the basis of such a remarkable decision.

Most people don't know a single individual who died as a result of the virus, yet they are expected to modify their immune system and make it so called '' stronger or equipped '' to fight the virus. We have heard of people that have died abroad of the virus despite the vaccine. In fact, now and then, they have to get booster shots and countless doses.

We should not always be consumers... I believe that getting the vaccine should be by choice or at the very least, should be scientific and those identified as being at risk of pre-existing conditions that are susceptible to the grim of the virus, should certainly take the vaccine. ... it is sad that there is no science that supports the decision, but there is science that supports contrary.

For years, people died of Ebola virus here in Africa, no one mandated western nations to take the Ebola vaccine.

So the facts, with the vaccine, you can still get the virus, the vaccine is just meant to reduce the severity of the virus just in case, you are symptomatic.

With the vaccine, you can still transfer or infect another with the virus... but so far, we have been pretty fine in Africa despite the grim prediction when they created the virus and exported it to the rest of the world.

Again, let our immunologists get to work in Nigeria, and contribute to the discussion. We shouldn't just be consumers and sheeps perhaps led to the slaughter. Our immunologists should do researches and to find out that we already have herd immunity and we are fine, but could recommend certain people get the vaccine, while anyone willing to, make it available for such.

Culture / Re: Court Declares Emir Sanusi’s Banishment As Unlawful by othermen: 1:28pm On Nov 30, 2021
The removal of Sanusi gives insight into the latitude of our Obas, Emirs and Obis. They serve at the pleasure of the governor, and not at the pleasure or interest of their people.

His removal, especially the reason for his removal is also an indictment , as to how powerful corruption is.

I somewhat thought that the Kano people will take to the street for their Emir, but the conservative Kano also saw Sanusi as a threat.

His broad mindedness, his desire for the education of his people, his desire to demand for good governance on behalf of his people threatened the solidarity that is solidified by poverty and illiteracy of the people.

And so, soon, the northern elites became threatened, there could be no appeal to anyone then.

Politics / Re: PFN Kicks Against Payment Of ₦5,000 To ‘Poor Nigerians’ by othermen: 5:58am On Nov 30, 2021
This is a misleading headline though. A terrible attempt to stir the masses against PFN or Bishop Oke. If you do a survey, most Nigerians for want of food, will sell their future or the hope for their future.

The poorest communities will take #5000 each than have the roads into their slums tarred, the poorest communities will take #5000 each in exchange for losing the opportunity of a school to another community.

That is why the elites sustains poverty, that way they can appeal to people’s hunger and use a plate of food to buy their votes and conscience.

At some points during the endsars protest, it was the poorest amongst us that were used to attack protesters in Abuja, this is the advantage of having poor people and illiterate in the lots; it’s the first rule in the northern elites rise to power manual, an idea, which is incredibly and increasingly adopted across the nation. (Case study - The creation of Mc Oluomo by Tinubu, and how most young people will choose to be an Mc Oluomo to being a professor).

The headline here could have been ‘Bishop Oke says #5000 is insufficient to address an individual basic need’ his address is on the sufficiency of the amount proposed as he is not antagonistic towards cushioning the troubles of the least amongst us. Don’t think persuasive headlines are not purposive or the phrasing are harmless or useless in stirring sentiments towards the appropriate direction.

That said,

#5000 is less than the daily lunch allowance for middle level staff in some of our government parastatals, and yet the clueless government expects a man and his household to thrive on this in a month.

Creating a society where things work will alleviate poverty. In a society where things work, there will be incentives for people to do businesses and so there will be more jobs, subsidized buses and trains available, there is electricity to power the hot-plate, good, motorable and accessible roads would reduce the cost of transit.

But we know too, you don’t have to remove fuel subsidy in order to get the above done. The administration is just clueless but clueless is fine, a Tinubu administration which increasingly is becoming inevitable will likely be for the elites (check his visits to the northern elites) and though they all shout how great an administrator he is, I certainly do know, Tinubu would not even offer any cushion as to such decision and would likely set the dogs on his critics…

…he would take money from the poorest or they will lose their hands, this is the way to encourage hard-work and eliminate poverty.

Politics / Re: Ajimobi’s Daughter, Ajay Accuses Bouncers At Lagos Nightclub Of Assault by othermen: 2:37pm On Nov 29, 2021
There is nothing wrong in visiting a club.

People go to club to hang out with friends or relax(unwind) or to dance and forget their troubles or bothers for a while.

Some people go there for networking.

Imagine dancing with Ajimobi’s daughter or telling her that her lavish lifestyle is funded by the people’s resources and getting her to see the need as to why she should give back to the society…rather than wasting the very limited life or time anonymously hating on others they have not met or don’t personally know

… yes, here on Nairaland unnecessarily, bitter and hateful lots.

That said, the issue is with those accused and regardless of what the outcome is, false accusation or assaults (not limited to sexual assaults) is terrible and deserving of our ‘ut’most condemnation, but what is also deserving of our condemnation is the extreme hypocritical and ridiculous bias that many here seem to adjudge her.

Career / Re: How Much Does Zenith Bank Pay It's Entry Level Staff? by othermen: 2:25pm On Nov 29, 2021
Congratulations on passing that stage of the assessment. I think you will get the genuine information you require certainly before you commence work.

You can have a discussion with the HR and reject the offer letter if it doesn’t meet your expectation.

The working environment depends on the role you are employed for… but generally the bank won’t pay you a kobo that you do not a thousand times deserve.

That said, I hope you ask too the questions that matter more, on how you can reach the peak of your career in the bank, and what steps to take to enable you be a prospective management staff.

Politics / Re: Insurgents Planning To Attack Military Bases – DSS Raises Alarm by othermen: 5:11pm On Nov 28, 2021
When they have intelligence that Bandits are en route to Aso Rock, rather than set an ambush or set a trap for them, our security agencies prefer to come out and warn the bandits to choose a later date.

This communication could have been done internally, now they have only jeopardized a chance to apprehend the threat while the insurgents know there is a rat or Judas in their rank which they must fish out, jeopardizing future intelligence.

One of my hypothesis as to why insecurity, economic downturn, Naira devaluation continues to thrive in Nigeria, is because the parastatals in charge of these essential functions are filled with incompetents lots and their greatest strength is fishing out and crucifying dissents.

The smarter ones unable to gain employment, give themselves to gaming the system, that is why a Nigerian would be employed by the Chinese to help draft a trade policy that would absolutely sabotage the nation and give all of the advantage to the chinese. However, Musa and Ibrahim who should represent us, were begged to acquire their degrees in ridiculous universities, albeit abroad or locally and were offered the jobs without a sweat...all they do is show up and append signatures on behalf of the black rest of us with no inkling to diligence.

How can Naira rise, when it is Musa brother that owns abokifx and the likes, and have employed an oduduwa chartered accountant and an Ibo economist to manage the abokifx? Even ASUU members, professors of economics and finance are applying these days to be a special assistant or adviser to a young Dantata. So yes, the smart ones are giving up on the nation that has often betrayed them and won't mind sabotaging the nation in order to have a decent(indecent) living. Do you know your medical doctor would abandon you for a better life, if the US or Canada or UK come calling? You would be stupid to tell your sibling to turn such offer down. Well, the impact of such decision is on millions of people, and those who have very little access to healthcare and shall now perish for want of one.

Again, you would know that we have a very poor system architecture in Nigeria, when you try to game the system.

Our security architecture is worse and I pray that the hypothesis is an exaggeration that isn't so true. But this is what those wanting to join our armed force are considering as reasons not to.
A young colonel has just killed 20 insurgents, 30 bandits, 40 boko-haram members; and the commanding officer is the ideology assistant to Isa Pantami; so you must hope that the military rank looks away and not invite such officer, commend the officer and send the officer to a much more volatile and treacherous area with inadequate weapons or airforce jets like the one that killed our beloved COAS... so this remarkable officer gets ended in this terrible assignment or get ended the way the remarkable Arotile did. Her colleagues then, know not to be effective, because the reward is perhaps death... while the son of the political one get a posting to Akure and in the end becomes the only surviving one from whatever regular course he graduated from... so again, the intelligent ones and the strong ones, do not trust our armed forces or trust the armed forces to manage their lives. And so Boko Haram continues, bandits today, fulani herdsmen tomorrow, insurgents next week... and the bureaucracy only sees blessing in the security situation (catastrophe), they only see their allowances for attending the burial of a fallen soldier.

Family / Re: My 10-month-old Baby Reason I’ve Not Committed Suicide – Amputee Impregnated, Du by othermen: 7:20am On Nov 28, 2021
We could judge the lady as using emotionally abusive tactics to hold us emotionally hostage to her. One could infer that by threatening suicide, she is saying to those in and out of her life or circle , that her demands must be met, else her life is on the line, but is this so? Do we really think if we are in her situation, we will not have such mental health crisis or even worse?…and so it is not our position to judge at all.

We could pray for the return of Okpara but that might be the coming of an abusive partner and a return to an abusive relationship.

We could judge the mother as unforgiving and the rest of her immediate family as cruel.

But while we do, and hope that perhaps out of the fear of our judgments and rebuke and threats, and hope that perhaps out of that fear, that we will hold the family responsible for her suicide if she does go that path and afraid they will be lynched by individuals not aware of their actions at perhaps redeeming their daughter or their justification for their behavior towards their daughter; the door is opened again for her, and she is redeemed from the dark thoughts that consumes her. I think the end matters here than the means to the end.

….Or rather than forcing the family to take her on, when they would rather not; is it possible we set her mind on higher things, put her through some therapies, that repairs her mind and her esteem, clamor the implementation of an affirmative action on her behalf (Like the FG promises to implement 5% of jobs for persons with disabilities) and that by empowering her, we restore her esteem and mental health and she becomes again attractive to those who may have abandoned her or even better, become visible to those who should cherish her.

It seems, she has identified one or two businesses she could do, which is great… but identifying or having a flair or momentarily passion… is often not sufficient… so that the next story is not how she was fleeced or how her condition hindered the success of her idea, despite the fund received or how she gave the fund to Okpara in order to rent his love. I think she has to commit to a due diligence on her part, this shows efforts and an understanding of the scope of what she intends. The evidence of a proposal that supports such idea is relevant; it gives an idea as to her expectations, that way, she can have a go-fund me account and the amount she intends to raise is stipulated.

Nonetheless, we all can still assist and take her out of the dire she is in first, when we look away, the man who want to take sexual advantage of her would approach her and shatter what is left of her heart and life. Here already, we have seen those whose only notion of her situation is in sexual tones or innuendos. If there is an NGO that she can approach, please do assist her with. Also, no amount really is insignificant, do share what you can.
Romance / Re: The African Culture's View: Patriarchy And Feminism. by othermen: 8:35am On Nov 27, 2021
I ask how many places they have been in Africa or Nigeria to make such judgment as to the character of countless people?

I ask what record or history or findings is cited to support the assertion that thousands and thousands and thousands of societies in Africa were built on patriarchal and almost all the men are misogynist?

I ask what personal experience is had where women despite their qualifications are put in subordinate positions to incompetent men?

I ask if such experience is inherent in Africa or prevailed due the adoption of the Abrahamic religions?

Africa has separate cultures and I think it is a terrible judgment when a sweeping generalisation is made.
