Cuddlemii: This forming things is a general thing with Naijas both male and female all over the world. We like going overboard with everything.
Women form to even their fellow women so I don't see a biggy in that. Maybe the women you guys have been meeting enjoy the chase and its excites them which is a good thing. If these babes come on so easy, you men are the same ones who will bullshit them and run them down.
I am here in Nigeria and the reports I get about guys over there too are terrible. You guys mostly use the babes there, dump them and then come back to Naija to marry village virgins. So maybe they are being cautious or can read thru your antics.
Although I dont support rudeness or forming or nasty attitudes because I believe there are better ways of passing your message accross without hurting anyone or stressing yourself. If these babes are giving you a hard time, then look for the nice ones.
Most of you men like going for good things all the time or perfection or the same thing, what wrong with the nerdy girl, the chick with braces, the bible club lady, the humanitarian or activist lady, the cleaning lady working 2 jobs to get a degree. Variety they say is the spice of life, you might be surprised the kind of bliss and pleasure you would derive. You guys might wanna look into peaceful ladies.
Finally, approach is another thing. Sometimes guys take this swagger thing to the extreme making them appear childish, gangstar and weird. This can be very irritating. I am sure the ladies can identity a responsible man with prospects and value so cut out the flashy and money thing. Even if you dont look like a million dollars atleast let your look show that you would make the millions someday. this the only comment that makes sense, brilliant comment peacefull ladies are the best, they are the ones i am looking for thanks! |

Reflector: country homes are a pure waste of money and are built for sentimental reasons to massage egos and tell oue peers that we have arrived. these homes are very diffisult to rent especially those in the villages and most times the owners don't spend more that 2 to 4 weeks in an entire year there. the homes just gather dust while some are burgled.
my advice to friends building in the village is to do a small bungalow. yes i agree, i built 40 rooms in the east onistha and a small scale car wash and pure water buissness, with the money that i was soppose to use for country house now i am making double the money every year, even till now i still dont have a country house because it just ties down your cash for good buissiness, and you cant rent it, when i am ready i will build a small country home, country home not very important nawadays |

hope2007: I don't watch nollywood movies they make me want to gag.The yoruba films are much more better. I can't imagine a nollywood actor/actress training 6 mths for a fighting role (like Brad Pitt n Orlando Bloom in Troy), learning sign language to act as a deaf n dumb (John Okafor pls take note), going on a diet and gyming to lose 10 to 20 kg so as to fit a particular role. it takes a lot of hard work n they can't do all these things. Most movies are acted in 3 days or less so where is the rehearsal and other stuff going to fit in, in those 3 short days. We have the headquarters of witches and wizrads here in naija but Harry Potter was written by an oyibo woman and it went on to gross millions of pounds and dollars worlwide. What we really need are good n talented script writers, good directors, good stuntmen and women, good casting directors, dedicated actors and actresses who will go to the extreme to make us want to go to silverbird cinema to watch a nollywood movie. you are absolutely right, i agree with every thing you said, infact i think you can do better than all the nollywood directors put together, and this harry potter woman (j k rowlings) is just briliant! yet we claim to own wichcraft, nawadays all they do in nollywood is buy camera, go to a village, get some few friends together, and some ashewos, pay them small money to show their bums and boobs, with a very locall accent, and thats it! u ve got a movie! the quality is terribble! and actors trying to do a very rubbish american accent, |

AfriWorld: Hi All. . . To answer your question "When will Nollywood Start Acting Action Movies", (or better yet, first rephrase the question to a preferable version - "When will Original & Astounding Action Movies be produced by Nigerian/African Directors,Producer,Actors?" ; the answer? - THIS YEAR 2011. We are working on it, but before we can release any such movies, we have to ensure all ends are covered for us to recoup our investors' investment; Piracy is a big issue, and makes it hard for that to happen, so we are underground putting things in place, and lobbying with the government to fight it. By the end of this year everyone will see the results - and that will coincide with the release of our first "African" produced action movie.
It IS compulsory for Original Action movies to be produced; the customers/audience demand it, and are the ones who pay for the movies; the audience is tired of the "same old" stuff, so in order for the entertainment industry not to "rot & die" (which is already happening), new material needs to be fed in. In order for the African entertainment Industry to remain competitive with the rest of the world, we have to align ourselves with the technology & skills that exist in that field, and recognize that the audience are important deciding factors of the productions process, then use the tech/skills to meet the demands of the customer (audience) . . . else you would basically be producing a movie for you and yourself alone (maybe your family too) to watch. How would that benefit you as a producer/investor? .
Current producers/actors/writers just get a script "they" like, and make a film without considering much of how the audience feel about it, or how the audience will receive it; it works for them now, and they are making money short-term (just because people have to watch something right?), but believe us when we say "its only short lived". Piracy is to blame too, because the current producer/actors want to make money, so why spend so much on a good film, only for pirates to have a happy day collecting the returns?
With the birth of new-age & upcoming Nigerian/African Directors & Producers who are trying to release new material (and are doing an OK job, but still need to do A LOT of work), people are now a bit interested in going to cinemas to watch those "new-age" movies.
Lets leave with a question - "Why do you think people/the audience prefer to watch an American or Indian movie released in theaters/cinemas as opposed to a Nigerian one?" (Whoever gives a correct answer will get a spot in one of our movies currently being planned/developed - just kidding ) this is just a long story nigerians are not and will never be capable of acting like hollywoods actors i ve watch the so called nollywood movies they are all craps, they all seem to be copying each other some times the actors keep repeating the same word its rubbish and why call it nolywoods anyway? instead of african movies sounds like they are copying holywood its embarassing they could never match up with holywood movies not in 10 million years |

Do you have any scientific proof that is her fault alone and not yours alone? It could be you, it could be her, it be both of you.
If you are the reason for the infertility, another woman will not get a child from you. before u start jugding no its not me i have proof and its not her because she has kids already, so whats your problen? |

victorian: @ Oti-gba, is not by coming to nija to marry is the problem, is about YOU! are you ready for marraige? do u love yourself enough to love and care for someonelse, you call your second half? do u believe respect is mutual? and are you ready to come down from your high horse, cause you live abroad and be ready to be humane to your intending spouse. Divorce is worldwide, bad marriage is worldwide too, its not about the country , but yourself, Anybody can suceed anywhere and can live the life of luxury, as long as you are selfless, hardworking, dedicated , wise thinker and above all prayerful to God & he will crown your efforts with good success, its a simple ideology, that has worked for me and its still working.
@ snowdrops, thanks for your generous offer, yes i am ready to do all u said, and i dont mind were a woman is from so long as she respect me, and i respect her i am a very hard working man i can look after a woman properly at the moment i am with an oyibo woman not for passport or anything because i have a british passport, and she is having problem getting pregnant, my parent pressuring me to come and marry a young girl from naija who can get pregnant, i really dont want to do that becuse this oyibo i ve been with her for 5 years i kno her very well but the girl my parents is going to find for me i dont kno her, very well what if we end up having the same problem or even more, |

victorian: this Topic reminds me of my past, I was once in this poster shoes before, although i dont have problem with accent, i speak fluently, He is naturally a mean man, sadist, psychopath and very abusive, he's also insecure and he bullys me almost everyday, except when he receives his salary or some money somewhere, he will be in a good mood for two days only, then we are back to square 1 of such attitudes, I cant complain, i cant abuse him, cause i was taught never to raise my voice on any man, I swallowed his deameaning words, cried most nights, prayed everymoment to God, then eventually wish something terrible will happen to me , so i can just die and live in peace, after being so tired of life, But death didnt come, One fateful evening, i watched a famous Pastor preach on T.V and his topic was ; Why bear to live your life in misery with a bad partner who constantly abuses you and feel someday he will change after series of prayers? Some people can change, but some cant, ITS PART OF THEIR WAY OF LIFE TO BE who they are, After listening to the sermon from the Pastor , tears streaming down my face, i just made up my mind, Am going back to Nija, even if the economy is hard, people suffering, I will make it and start all over again, as long as am not lazy , with God by my side, Thank God, he travelled down to Birhimingham to visit , his dear friend and shud be back in 5days time, Next morning, i arranged my clothes, drop a note, carried my travelling bags and clothes, Off, i went to the airport, with my passport, bought a ticket and few hrs, i am back to Nija, I was shaken, but relived, I know Nija is hard but i prefer it here, I had to find my way home to my mum and brothers, I went home to my mum, it was a tearful reunion, i thank God, everyday am out of that dungeon, I am very successful with my career now, am very comfortable, content, grateful to God for His mercies and blessings, i now know , how to select and be with a good guy, instead of a bad one, I shud av been married again, but am scared of marriage, sometimes i do have nightmares about him and i pray God will give me heart to accept that there are good men out there, that will not become bad after marriage, I just pray. so are u saying marrying from naija does not work ,because my parents has been pestering to come back to naija and marry a naija girl to take to england |
