my school fees for my post graduate program has been increased 3 times in the last 2 years. the price of diesel has gone up from N75 to N93.

We hear of economic growth on NTA and in the newspapers but in reality things are bad. Food prices have not decreased but rather increased. The only remaining textile firm in kaduna had closed down. It is now common knowledge that only 20% of the money released by government gets utilized with the remaining 80% going to private pockets. Our saving grace which is making things look stable is that crude oil prices has remained largely over $65 per barrel which is almost more than twice the budget estimates.

OBJ has done very well on paper but on the ground things are very bad. Corruption is at its highest peak and people are suffering.

This is very interesting coming against the backdrop that only 20% of the total budget released by the three tiers of government in Nigeria gets to be used for welfare of the citizens. The remaining 80% being used for the welfare of our corrupt politicians.

This is a hard one. We have subscribed to 2 VSAT suppliers, one of which was registered with NCC so I guess their licences covered our operations. We have currently deactivated our VSAT and are hooked up through microwave connection to a new subscriber who is also licensed by NCC.

Last week a new Act was passed which requires cyber cafes, ISPs and foreign carriers like Newskies, Intelsat etc to register with EFCC. They did not mention anything about fees though.

Its a terrible situation.
