Arsenal is messed up and it will only get from bad to worse. As for Adebayor, he has made the biggest mistake of his life and will soon fade into insignificance. What has happened to him in the nations cup is an eye opener.

Sports › Re: CAF African Player of the Year 2005 Award by otokx(m): 10:11am On Jan 26, 2006
why do some nigerians like talking past tense? if you have never heard or watched Samuel Eto before; seeing what he has done in the two games he has played in this nations cup will surely convince you. Considering that he is only 23 (and thank God he is not a Nigerian who delights in age declaration) you know he is just too much. Is it by head, free kick, outside shot, assist, inside shot? which one. This is the world's second best player 2005? which Nigerian has smelt world number two position b4? Samuel Eto is perhaps second to george weah in terms of success.

after the match i was convinced that if there is a god of soccer then he was on our side that day. i am yet to see a team so uncoordinated and so flat footed. just watch cameroon then you will see the difference. all our so called big stars are just a big disappointment. we are clapping for a man who shot a ball into an empty net while the goal keeper was still arranging his wall.

welldone ONO!!! the case of monkey they work baboon dey chop don end.

What development has the people of the niger delta enjoyed more than 40 years since oil was discovered?

Its a very simple line of thought which was first carried out by the ogonis. They forced SPDC to shut down and abandon all oil installations in their domain some years ago saying - that if Shell cannot contribute a dime to the development of their land, culture and people then the oil should be left in the ground. The ogonis have prospered even more since that decision and the crude oil remains untapped underneath their land until such a time that it will be beneficial to them.

Before the discovery of Oil we have existed and will continue to exist.
Politics › Re: Gunmen Attack Agip In Port Harcourt by otokx(m): 6:48pm On Jan 25, 2006
you guys are behind time, for over 6 months armed bandits have been attacking banks and oil companies which are located by the numerous waterways in port harcourt. the truth is that but for the oil installations, most nigerians don't know 'jack' about the water ways so the idea is simple - attack from the water and leave through it.

The number of companies attacked include WILBROS (near uniport) twice, 3 banks located at Onne once, Julius Berger Main Base on Eastern Bypass twice and now Agip. The only reason why the media is reporting it now is because they want to link those armed bandits with the same people who kidnapped those expatriates.

It may interest you to know that because of the disenchantment in the land; there are now a proliferation of armed bands who use their rugged terrain to carry out a lot of nefarious activities.

Only a massive development and provision of basic infrastructure and employment will reduce the intensity of this activities. My heart goes out to the innocent ill equiped corporals and sergeants who stand no chance in the face of superior fire power and tactics.
Education › Re: UNIPORT Student and Alumni Thread by otokx(m): 6:37pm On Jan 25, 2006
@larger_20

what happens as a result of man o war is a reflection of the society we are in. during the festive periods i was awaken by sporadic and heavy gunfire coming from the choba campus of the university where the banks are situated. I live in the staff quarters across the road in the abuja campus. for over 2 hours between 2am and 4am there was a continuous exchange of heavy automatic gun fire. All through this time there was no electricity so the night was calm and staccato sound very clear and seemed to be just happening outside the house.

it was the following day that we learnt that armed robbers tried to gain access to the UBA bank and that the 2 or 3 mopol on duty ran for their dear lives at the sound of the guns. it was the man o war that u say u disarmed that finally gave this armed robbers a little problem with their load - shoot - and reload gun. By the way the robbers shot their way in through the only entrance and went out the same way. Luckily they got tired with the tactics of the man o war boys who being familiar with the terrain made a sport of them.

two years ago, uniport was invaded by cultists from the state university in search of some man o war boys who had harrassed their member in the hostel making the boy to roll in the gutter. For three days unending these armed cultists came every evening shooting, robbing and maiming. The current VC who was lecturing us that fateful day was made to lie face down in the class and we were all robbed of all our valuables, money and mobile phones. The man o war boys had to temporarily relocate to off camp because it was very terrible no fewer than 6 people died and not by stray bullets as this cultists had their hit list.

what am i saying? what goes on in our universities, political strata etc is a reflection of what happens in the society. Right now UBA has employed over 10 MOPOL to protect their banks but we know that when those armed bandits come back even a 100 MOPOL cannot stop them. 2 days ago, armed bandits went to a multinational oil french company and robbed the cash office in a 30 minute operation in the afternoon between 2pm and 3pm. The 9 dead include 7 innocent policemen, 1 contract staff and 1 accountant. what happens to the families of this ordinary people?

Conclusion
Man O War has its good and bad sides. They exist because of some high ranking people.

when coming to collect your certificate please come with some amount of naira. you will be required to do a clearance which will necessitate your going round some offices namely your department, faculty office, library, health center and finally alumni office. At all this points you will part with nothing less than 5h (even at the banks). If your lucky it may take 3 days if your not perhaps 7 days.

Business › Re: Business Areas That Need Investment In Nigeria by otokx(m): 3:02pm On Jan 22, 2006
one lucrative business opportunity that u can do especially from a foreign land is DTH satellite TV.

Right now DSTV has a monopoly of the entire Nigerian Market. Trendtv that came up to give them some form of competition has simply gone to sleep. You can bundle this package with internet too but i suggest you do the TV one. DSTV charges as much as $40 a month for their basic package while Trendtv offered $20 for their scrap channels which has been off since december last year with no apologies or explanation.

You could also go into solar panel electricity packages for homes.
