moninuola65: By the time all Nigerian were trying to to avoid another blood shed in this country, igbo is digging deep to find anything that will bring war. Nnamdi kanu ipob provocation on the government and Nigeria nation is continue non-stop, which lead to the Arewa quit notice, and the effort of the government and leaders to calm de jeux, still igbo is bring out another system of not only provocation but threat to the country. among of these:- i. Barrister Vincent Egechukwu Obetta, on behalf the Igbo ethnic group resident in northern Nigeria, filed three lawsuits against Alhaji Yerima Shettima for alleged “treasonable notice,” amongst other crimes.
Barr. Obetta, in a statement he signed, named other respondents in the suits as the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and the Federal Government of Nigeria.
He declared "If they fail to arrest him he would proceed to the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, Holland, to press Criminal Charges against (i) Alh Yerima Shettima (ii) The IGP (iii) The Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) as the Chief Law Officer of Nigeria (iv) Prof Ango Abdullahi and (v) Prof Yemi Osinbajo as the Ag. President of Nigeria when the 06/06/2017 of Aiding and Abetting a second Genocide against the Ndigbo in the North.
ii. Lawyer from United States law firm, Fein & DelValle PLLC, have filed a suit against Major-General TY Buratai, the Chief of Army Staff; Mr. Willie Obiano, governor of Anambra State; Mr. Okezie Ikpeazu, Abia State governor and 13 others in the US District Court for the District of Columbia.
So the questions are; if those people taken to court guilty and arrested can igbo still living in those region peacefully? if the Arewa youths arrested as igbo wish can those igbo in the north rest in peacefully now? Why igbo still believe they can retaliate the past civil war on Nigeria? where were you when they are killing in innocent people that were doing the peaceful rally. Mind you, what kanu is asking for is simple, what is that? Referendum. |

Cooly100: The quest for political restructuring gained momentum yesterday as a coalition of all socio-cultural organisations in South-west and Diasporas plan come together next month to decide status of Yoruba in Nigeria.
The coalition, which will come together under the aegis of Yoruba Summit, will take advantage of the conference to perfect the region’s demand for Yoruba autonomy within a united, peaceful and equitable federation.
The Publicity Secretary of Afenifere, Mr. Yinka Odumakin, disclosed the plan to THISDAY yesterday, thereby citing the imperatives of the meeting where the position of Yoruba nation would be officially made public.
The Yoruba Assembly, an umbrella platform for all socio-political groups in the South-west, had in a recent communiqué asked the federal government to consider a referendum to enable nationalities constituting Nigeria to decide if they still want to remain together.
The assembly under the leadership of Gen. Alani Akinrinade (rtd) had then faulted the claim by the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF) that some political usurpers “are hiding under the guise of the legitimate agitation for restructuring and self-determination to destabilise the polity is totally untenable.”
In its five-page communiqué signed by all its chartered members, the assembly had then said it was compelled by the rising tension in the Nigerian political space to convene a consultative meeting, which was held in Lagos at the heart of the current agitation for political restructuring and self-determination.
After two months, the Yoruba Assembly issued the communiqué, Odumakin said all socio-cultural organisations in the region would converge on Ibadan next month to decide the position of Yoruba in Nigeria, which was said to the largest gathering of Yoruba people in history.
Exchanging message with THISDAY yesterday, Odumakin disclosed that a summit of Yoruba people in the South-west, Kogi, Kwara States and the Diaspora “is coming up in the next few weeks in Ibadan.”
He said the summit would attract Yoruba leaders across board including governors, topmost traditional rulers, members of National Assembly, opinion leaders, youth, artisans, professional bodies among others.
Odumakin said the summit “will look at the place of Yoruba within Nigeria and articulate the positions of the Yoruba nation for a united, peaceful and equitable federation. It promises to be the biggest gathering of Yoruba in this millennium. All leading Yoruba organisations without exception are on board.
“The planning committee under the leadership of Dr. Kunle Olajide will soon unveil details of the biggest event coming for the Yoruba soon. The need to get verb for Yoruba noun in the syntax of the Nigerian experience necessitated the summit.”
He added that the summit would also deliberate on all issues relating “to a working Nigeria and Yoruba autonomy within it. We have passed through different stages of Nigerian metamorphosis from a federal to a unitary state.
“We need to take a decision on which phase best suits the advancement of Yoruba civilisation. It is being organised under Yoruba Summit. It will hold in Ibadan in a matter of weeks but the planning committe will unveil the exact day soonest,” he explained.
He therefore, noted that all leading Yoruba organisations without exception “are on board. The planning committee under Dr. Kunle Olajide will soon unveil details of the biggest event coming for the Yoruba soon.”

itsdumebi: Kaduna central senator, Shehu Sani has openly stated that Nigeria will never be restructured before or after the 2019 elections.
Sani cautioned Nigerians not to be fooled adding that politicians are engaging in cheap talks about restructuring in order to buy time before the campaign for the next round of general elections commences and then buries the issue of restructuring.
In post on his social media page, Sani wrote;
"No ‘restructuring’ will take place before 2019; it will be all talks, storms and ‘buying of time’ until the drumbeat of elections eclipse that of ‘restructuring
Restructuring will be in the campaign manual of all Nigerian political parties for 2019 general elections.
Some will even back it up with documents both soft and hard copies. Some will even share DVDs of how the polity will be restructured. After the elections then ‘the Government needs to settle down’; then the ‘Government need to study the document’,”
http://politicsngr.com/2017/08/12/nigeria-will-never-restructured-senator-shehu-sani/ exactly what I have in mind. The politicians know what we want and they always use it to campaign during the election but moment they get the power which we give it to them, they will now started use it against our wish. Behold, this man is one of them that means directly or indirectly he's telling out the out come of the meeting. |

[quote author=Beress post=59385915]Below are the the words of Buhari on the ill health of Yaradua back then in 2010:
Buhari speaks!
"It's unpatriotic for a government leader to travel abroad for so long in the name of medical vacation. If a leader can no longer function due to ill-health, he should be called upon to resign. "I don't think I have said anything wrong to have advised the President to resign. He should disclose his health status to Nigerians and resign if he can no longer cope. That's the proper thing to do."
- Buhari on Yar'Adua's ill-health in 2010
My question: Why is it now difficult for Buhari to yield to his own advice?
Lalasticlala can you answer that? Its like when Tinubu was clamouring for devolution of power to state and also asking for State police. And don't forget that they also promise us restructuring but now they are doing another thing. Politicians are not straight being. |

State officials should agree with his team ahead of his visit which public space he can use so that disruption to traffic and businesses can be localised.
A stadium would be a good environment to accommodate him & his fans. This would also help in terms of managing the safety & security of attendees and local residents. If Kanu is coming to Lagos even if he wish to visit other parts in Yoruba Land believe me there is no problem. Our elite class had taken us for granted and their sons and daughter are now taking us for granted and now is the time for every Nigerians to raise up and fight for what is left before nothing is left to fight for. Kanu has begin to awaken the spirit of average Nigerians irrespective if you are Igbo or Yoruba. My only prayer is Nigeria should divide without war cos war will take us back 50 years. I am not an Igbo man but I do like listen to this guy because he's not only fight for Igbo but all the Nigeria Youths. Our leaders know what it will make this country better but they wouldn't do it. Just imagine after the National confab in 2014, Jonathan refused to implement the outcome of it while the APC used it to campaign Just to get the support of Nigerians but now they said they do not Understand what the restructuring mean to them but they also have the recommendation copy from the report which it was base on Restructuring. But when the Kanu started IPOB's campaign, the Legislatures now makeup to do constitutional review which has expire since 1999 . But the funny part of it is that they still want all the state to depend on Federal Govt. To me, Kanu is absolutely right and if he eventually come to Lagos I will support his rally because is not for IPOB but for all the Nigeria Youths. |

I think the genesis of constitutional review base on just because only this chapter and if other chapters gains YES and this one was left on NO believe me all this processing will surely end up in vain. Because devolution of power bill answer at least 98% of Nigeria's challenge and if its truly we want to remain as one Nigeria, this bill must get a favour by our law makers if not this country with break sooner not later. I watched the processing on TV that day and for the bill to get unfavourable vote shows the level of kind of people that representing us and immediately I saw that the bill was scanned on Capital NO I sorry for this country because if we really want to develop like America, Canada, Netherlands, Germany and so on every legislature most vote YES for this bill. But now that Senate President said it can be considered, I also pray so if not. This constitution review can not be well accepted. |

Politics › Re: Majority Of State Shouldn't Have Been Created In The First Place by otosa(m): 12:49am On Jul 14, 2017 |
fineboynl: what are the criteria to create a States?
States that can not survived shouldn't have been created, the military really created much problem for the present day Nigeria they never saw the Nigeria freedom as independence but rather a conquered territory. Before the amalgamation we all live separately.
There are critical criteria before creating a state one if which is viability you don't create states because of landmass. Desert are created as States and local government in the far north. During the British area they only created one region in the whole of north because they are simply not viable and cannot stand.
While they the British created 2 region from the southern Nigeria namely the south west and south east. And when they saw edo was viable and can stand on it own they created the Midwest region making it 4 region and of which 3 was in the southern Nigeria before they left.
the north has been poor from inception they never did anything or contributed meaningfully to the country. they have the highest poverty from the beginning and the British saw all that and one of the reason they favour them against the South.
But the northern military took advantage of dictatorship to create 3 region out from this north. They went further to create 19 States out from this same one region because of allocation from the south.
And yet they said south east don't need 6 States because of landmass or population. If no single state can survive in the north without FG allocation then south east needs States too for fairness. But to me south east don't need anymore states and the north should start folding up their already existing states because its shouldn't have been created in the first place.
Any state or region that cannot survived without bail out funds should as a matter of fact start packing out and surrendered itself and autonomy to the region it was created out from.
the allocation is the ground problem of the country and corruption. I know its matter 0f time Nigerians will surely wise up. Let me add to this. According to Gowon, he said they created those states to avoid the breaking up of any group from Nigeria. But since this man has been feeding us with his lies nobody never asked him that those states that he created in Northerner, are they wanted to break out from Nigerian too? Infact this man caused alot of damages to this Nation and it shall be my happiness if we can get to where he tool us from before he go. |
