celeiyke: The All Progressives Congress, APC, Monday urged the anti-graft agencies to probe the strategy meeting organized by the Presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar with some of the party’s leaders Dubai. Disclosing this to newsmen, the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the party, Yekini Nabena opined that there is a real motive behind the meeting in Dubai, noting that Nigeria has enough meeting and conference room for any kind of meeting. “There is more to the meeting that meets the eye. Nigeria has enough meeting/conference rooms, many of which meet international standards. It is therefore clear that the Dubai meeting was for other sinister political purposes ahead of the 2019 general elections.
“Our intelligence, anti-graft and security agencies must be awake to its responsibility of investigating the Dubai meeting. Cash-and-carry politicians must be prevented from moving illicit cash around to induce voters and sponsor election violence and rigging. “Another round of election is here and it is not unlikely that they are playing a repeat performance, under the guise of holding a meeting in Dubai. Our security agencies should be on the watch for a stitch in time saves nine.”

CilicMarin: Muslim-muslim Ticket: Why Not Rally To Oust Elrufai, Instead Of Crying Foul?
Ever since this unnecessary hullabaloo about a Muslim-Muslim ticket by the APC in Kaduna started, some questions keep crossing my mind anytime I read about the outcry in some quarters.
Consequently, I am confused and at the same time disappointed by vain emotions being fueled by some people instead of going down to plan on how to vote the Candidate/party that "balanced" his nomination.
On this, I ask the following questions:
We keep hearing on the Social media how unpopular Elrufai is Kaduna, that he can't win any election there etc. Then why can't the opposition seize this opportunity to vote him out?
Why are they crying over an own goal by the APC/Elrufai?
Did Elrufai violate any section of the Constitution?
Are there no longer 97 other parties in Kaduna who have Christian Deputy candidates, why the fixation on Elrufai? Is there something else, we don't know?
Have they conceded defeat to APC even before the first Ballot is cast?
Can we have a healthy debate? The same thing keeps pulling our society backward "religion and cluelessness". It baffles me how we are always bothered about the religion of those who represents us instead of their personality and mentality. Osinbajo is a pastor deputy and it doesn't even count as to what people are shouting for. Yardua was a Muslim and he did well in that short period he spent there. Why are we always bothered by the irrelevants? We should rather be concerned about the type of person nit the type of religion. |

Meekdon: The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has called on the Federal Government to tighten its seat belt as yuletide approaches.
The organization alerted the government to the annual phenomenon of artificial fuel scarcity which usually reared its ugly head at the approach of the end of the year.
Professor Ishaq Akintola, MURIC director, in a statement on Monday said: “November is just three days away today and these agents of darkness must be somewhere now plotting to disrupt the smooth flow of supply and distribution. Their main objective is to discredit the government of the day particularly now that the 2019 election is just a stone’s throw away.
“This was the same way their powerful but corrupt godfathers in politics used the National Assembly (NASS) to ambush Buhari’s government for fear of being probed by an anti-corruption regime. They sponsored fifth columnists to take over the leadership of the NASS from the very beginning of this administration.
“It is only in Nigeria that opposition will go as far as infiltrating government’s ranks to cause havoc and make the citizens suffer. What opposition knows how to do best is to constitute clogs in the wheel of progress.
“The current opposition in particular has thrown fairplay, honour and patriotism to the winds from the very beginning of the Buhari administration. The body language has been loud and clear.
“It is therefore necessary for FG to watch out from now on. Another attempt may be made to cause artificial fuel scarcity. Those behind the move do not care about the common man.
“They do not care about hundreds of citizens who will be stranded on the roads as a result of fuel scarcity or the average Nigerian car owner who will be compelled to spend hours at fuel stations”.
MURIC also called on FG to do everything within its power to avert the looming total strike bythe Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).
“Unlike the fifth columnists who are behind artificial fuel scarcity, NLC’s demand for higher pay for Nigerian workers is genuine. A strike around this time is most likely to affect both the supply and distribution of petroleum products.
“This is why FG must do everything to avert a total strike. But we appeal to labour leaders to also consider the timing. A strike that runs into the yuletide period will touch the citizens’ soft spots.
https://www.kendogist.com/2018/10/muric-warns-fg-of-fuel-scarcity.html But how come this man forgot so soon that apc government makes fuel scarce purposely in December as their own way of tackling road accident that arises from heavy traffic due to the festivities. kirajustice: @POLITICSNGR
Nigeria's minister for Transport, Rotimi Amaechi has revealed that the Abuja-Kaduna rail line cannot run faster than 90Km/hr because the ministry does not want locomotives to kill cows.
PoliticsNGR learned that Amaechi made this comment while speaking on the complications the Nigerian government faces while making concessions.
He broke down the various problems being faced by the Country's rail system adding that Nigeria has more than enough to transport via rail.
In his words;
"The reason why we want to go back to narrow gauge is because between Lagos and Kano, we have 30 million tonnes of cargo. Even if you do three rail lines, it cannot be enough.
It took us 14 days to move coaches from Lagos to Abuja; everyday we go and ask, how far, they say we are near Ogun state… 14 days.
But if it were rail, the same day, it will get to Abuja. The kind of construction we are doing is 120 kilometers per hour (Km/h), it is a speed train.
We are doing 90km/h with Abuja to Kaduna, the reason we are doing 90km/h is because there are cows everywhere, and we don’t want to kill cows. The other day they tried 100 and they killed how many cows, and they said ‘you people should replace the cows you killed.
From that day, I have said let us maintain the 90km/h; at 120km/h you get to Kaduna in one hour. You can work in Kaduna and live in Abuja. It was initially one, but now, we have done four locomotives with 14 coaches."
https://politicsngr.com/abuja-rail-cant-exceed-90km-hr-dont-want-kill-cows-amaechi/ Nice one. Age is truly just numbers it doesn't make d yardstick of wisdom. So a minister can come out to say we have to limit our efficiency because of cow? Wehdon sir. |

Fayose's sins were majorly during pre-election and he was always hiding under the guise of being the "man of the people" "the voice of the opposition". A reason why he took being a Buhari critic more seriously and fervently than ensuring good governance -- not like he is even doing better than Buhari.

Sportdab: Manchester United Legend Paul Scholes has revealed he doubts if the club can win the Premier League with Romelu Lukaku as their lead striker.
Since his move from Everton to Manchester United in 2017, Lukaku has scored 20 goals in 44 matches for the club.
He has scored only four goals this season for United but his last was on September 15.

He’s since gone six games without scoring for his club but he did score twice for Belgium against Switzerland in the UEFA Nations League last week.
This weekend, Lukaku will face his former club Chelsea at Stamford Bridge with United in need of three points to keep up with the title race.
But Scholes doesn't believe Lukaku has enough quality to lead United To their first title since 2013.
“I’m just not sure you are ever going to win the league with a goal scorer like him,” he told ESPN.
“I don't think his play outside of the box is good enough.
“I’m not sure if he works hard enough but he's still a young man who has done welland scored a lot of goals.
“He's quick and strong, but Lukaku is one of many United players who look like they're short of confidence.
“I don't think he realises how good he can be, but he needs help because who else can play centre-forward at United now?"
When it was suggested Anthony Martial or Marcus Rashford could play up front, Scholes added: “Maybe, but they look like wingers. And they're getting slagged off by the manager.
“We had four centre-forwards -- [Andy] Cole, Teddy [Sheringham], Ole [Gunnar Solskjaer] and [Dwight] Yorke -- and when they through bad spells, which every footballer does, someone else waswaiting to come in.
“That helped their performances because they knew that if they didn't perform then they would be taken off.
“Maybe Lukaku needs that, too.”
