Why is this forum always full of haters. Nigeria/Ghana conflict will be resolved soon and sorry for you all, you cant eat your sorry-words back. No, I guess abusing people is fun to you all. People move around as they please, to find a living for themselves, they simply follow opportunities. Asking people to pay $300,000 to establish a business is simply a devious means of destabilising an industrous neighbour. The Ghanian authorities should have a rethink of this policy. |
I believe the STF must have reviewed intelligence information the had collated over time and decided that the most tactical action to take is to create a position from which to they can actually assume control of the crisis. Probably, insurgents have often diappeared when pursued into these areas suggesting that they may have a cover around the area. These soldiers are human beigns too and therefore will die if shot at. No information is ever often given of dead soldier in this crisis areas yet they suffer loses too. If in their best judgement these communities need to move then so be it. Let us not forget that moving in a hurry under the watchful eyes of the soldiers will mean arms and ammunitions will be difficult to carry. Let the soldiers be supported to do their job. |
Adams Oshiomhole must apologise to Jega. From all observations, Jega and his team have done a marvelous Job. Oshomhole do the honourable thing. When you misfire, you apologise. We are waiting. |

ayobase: Stop displaying ur foolishness on NL.You guys should stop antagonising Logicboy01. he may be ignorant, misguided, or outrightly whatever but he still has a right to an opinion and the right to express it. There are a thousand and one schools of thought in the world and we can not be fighting or cursing simple because the other man thinks differently. Do not forget it is God's prerogative to save. |
When you want to look at any subject within a text it is best to start from the very begining. In Genesis 1 the Bible records the story of creation and states,"..... and God made man in his own image; male and female created he them". At that point he did not make any distinction between the mal and the female. Neither did he even assign to them reponsibilities. It was Adam who discovered Eve and said, "this is now the bone of my bone and the flesh of my flesh". This statement clearly sets forth the principle of equality of all men - male or female, for you can not be greater than your own bone or your own flesh. In essence Adam was saying, this is a form of myself. When we go to school we compete with each other on the basis of intellectual content and not gender, when we go to work we compete on the basis of our output and not gender but when it come to religion, we want to lord it over the female simple on the basis of gender. Guys, this just can not sell. Where a more worthy female exist, you just must settle for second best or else there will be no reason for exellence. |
Meanwhile, General Azazi has refuted media reports circulating, especially on the social media, which claimed that his media aide quoted him to have described President Jonathan as weakling who refused his desire to call in General Muhammadu Buhari for questioning. The social media, especially Twitter, were awash with the report on Saturday. But sources close to General Azazi described the reports as totally untrue. Also Mr Mike Awe who was quoted by a section of the social media to have spoken on behalf of Azazi denied making any such statement. Awe, who is not a spokesman of the former NSA, said “the story cannot be true and it is not true.” http://tribune.com.ng/sun/sports/7691-real-reasons-azazi-was-sacked-new-nsa-to-probe-sponsors-of-violence-horsefall-ogomudia-nearly-replaced-azazi |
carlos86: Unity is not a must.Divide this God forsaken countryGuy, speak for yourself. If you feel God has forsaken you, do not put it on the rest of us. Me and mine are neither forgotten nor forsaken. |
Long One: My view; love is meant for courtship, and when marriage enters, reality sets in. Therefore, it is important to find something greater than love to hold a marriage together.I've gone through most of the post here and feel compeled to contribute. First love that leads to marriage is not a feeling. I here people define love as a feeling you feel when you feel for someone the way you never felt before. That is infactuation or better put the kind of love you have for a car or a shirt, shoe, food etc. Love can not be defined by mere words, it is best described because where it exist certain attributes must be found. So If I find a girl I like and go on to date her, i make a choice whether I want to love her I can live with her exhibiting those attributes daily. What are the attributes by the way, the are kindness, gentleness, temperance, faithfulness, peace, self-control, joy ........ All these attributes have no basis with feeling. You do not feel kindness for someone or feel faithfulness or self-control. You make a choice to be faithful, kind, peaceful and self-controlled. Once our perspective of what we are going into is right, then I believe it can then be a pleasure ride. I'm dreaming of the lady I shower with all these attribute and still be me. |
nakedall: power is not banking that one can lie, the fact is still remain the fact - NO LIGHT. lets wait for the next 100 years if things will happen. 52 years we have only 4000MW, in 100 years lets hope to have 8000MW.WHILE I HATE YOUR VULGARITY, I WILL STILL COMMENT ON YOUR POST. ELECTRICITY CAN BE LIKENED TO A DELAPIDATED HOUSE INHERITED FROM YOUR GRAND-FATHER bad roof, cracked walls and probably rising damp. YOU HAVE NEAGRE RESOURCES AND HAVE TO USE THE HOUSE THE WAY IT IS UNTIL YOU CAN FIX IT. yOU DO NOT BUILD A HOUSE IN DAY OR A WEEK. THOSE WHO KNOW ARE TELLING YOU THAT THE REFORM IS ON COURSE BUT YOU WANT TO PREFER FIGHTING OVER LIGHT YOU DO NOT HAVE TODAY. THIS IS A COUNTRY WE ARE TALKING ABOUT AND NOT YOUR HOUSE WHERE YOU PROBABLY CAN USE AN "I PASS MY NEIGHBOUR", PROBLEM SOLVED. EVERY NATION HAS A POWER PLAN WHERE ANTICIPATED LOAD DEMAND IS PLANNED FOR BEFORE IT ARISES BUT YOU HAVE A NATION WHERE BEFORE 1999 NO SUCH PLAN EXISTED AND ELECTRICITY WAS SEEM A A PRIVILEDGE. SORRY TO SAY, YOU WOULDN'T SEE LIGHT BY MORNING TOMMOROW LIKE YOU EXPECT BUT YOU WILL HAVE IMPROVED POWER SUPPLY BY THE END OF THE YEAR AND ONWARDS. tHAT SHOULD SUFFICE. |
PROUD-IGBO:don't get yourself worked up. The word was probably coined from nyem mniri - which means give me water. The people who use it do not even know what they are saying. |
supoade: El-Rufai..... he is right after allForget the diversionary tactics of Mallam El Rufai. Boko Haram as we have it today is the creation of the northern political elite like himself who think themselves sacred cows. Do we need anyone to tell us that this killings take the partern of killings we read about in other islamic countries? It was El Rufai who said boko haram could not be responsible for the previous killings in Damaturu because the killer were not dressed like mallams. I find his talk this days as the ranting of a sick mind insisting on exercising his freedom of speech. |
Mandelaguy: @ I would urge you to g a step further and make findings and you will appreciate the effort to address the gas issue. Just go ahead and do more findings, you will find out the direction this government is taking. I commend you for your contribution. You have my assurance that I will find out more on the issues. Forget the critics, in a world of abundant information people choosing to be simply partisan and not issue oriented have no place. |
uzomagic: I am beginning to like this topic and @ oveigbe they will soon label you government agent( hahahahahah). I think I should join issues with people on this topic. My guy, this is my field and an area where I am most comfortable. I speak from knowledge not supposition. |
Joey82: @opI work in an institution were we generate on distribute our own power for our need and this power is generated using natural gas. If we ever have downtime (blackout), it never last for for than 30 minutes all things being equal but we have the advantage of a small generating capacity and a very small distribution system. I have read the minister's interview and would want to believe he spoke of those things that are under his control as minister for power. Gas supply on the other hand is for the petroleum ministry to plan for and execute to meet to growing demand for their product. I believe if we have the privileged of hearing from the minister of petroleum, we will be in a better place to assess the present development. As fro the critics and pessimist on the site, Nigeria is moving past your views. |
Thanks for referring us to the minister's interview. It was not only frank but realistic. The reforms required in PHCN are time dependent and most of the inherited NEPA infrastructure were either obsolete or dilapidated. And again we had the problem of institutionalized corruption within PHCN. The transmission line running from Aloji to Calabar via Itu for example has only one set of lines instead of two right from when it was first installed probably in the 70s. The consequence of this is that when that line has a fault, there is no back up or alternative supply line until the fault is fixed. This problem was neither created by OBJ, Yar'Adua (RIP) or Jonathan and fixing it may require installing entirely new towers and line. Haven read the Minister's interview I am convinced that they are on top of the situation and that in the very near future a lasting solution would have been put in place. On the issue of gas supply, the minister has already said that we are blessed with an abundant reserve of it (which we carelessly flare everyday in our oil production companies, the petroleum ministry needs to tell us what plans they have to make natural gas available to Nigerians (not just PHCN) for our every day use. For my fellow citizens, we need to learn to conserve energy and use electricity wisely. The era of leaving for work with are your security lights on is fast running out. Using quack electricians to make connection in our homes and offices is detrimental to the distribution facilities. Let all hands be on deck and let braze up for better days in the power sector. |
jamst: Hmmm...U see guyz, boko haram are not muslims lik myself,BH are SSS are PDP-dogs & their evil master are zionist jew Israhell and zionist USA...The bomb blast here & there are planned and planted by your State Security Service in co-ordination with evil-foreign agency (mossad, cia & mi5/6 wateva)....They are using the same tactics DIVIDE RULE CONQUER...Look at Sudan of recently DIVIDE,they want d same 4 Nigeria...My bro&sis wake up,our enemies are israhelli jew and zionist america...Try 2 make ur search about dis & prove me wrong...Peace 2 allThis again shows how backward and silly your reasoning is. What has the USA or Israel got to do with your brothers wrapping bombs around their backs and blowing themselves up? Tell yourself the truth, a small section of jihadist have decided to do havoc in our nation and they have brothers, sisters, fathers, mothers, uncles and other relations who have chosen to be accomplices in this sad saga. It is not Janathan or PDP or ACN or any other political party at that but our family units that need to fight this battle. Frank Olize used to start his show on NTA in the 90s with the question, "do you know where your child is right now"? That is the pertinent question now? They guys killing themselves and other have families. Abdul Mutallab's parents were responsible enough to know when their son was out of line and did their bit. Can we all do the same? |
shymmex: There is no reality in religion - the reality is the God that lives in you...I must say, I agree with you here. Its not about religion, its about the God or god that lives in you? Can you truely say which one really lives in you? You got it wrong when you alluded that every Christianity isn't Jewish. Israel is the root of christianity. Every other nation or race only got converted to it. The christian life is an experience a renewing experience and need I say the Quoran affirms it and so does Judahism. |
Patsey: Clinging to unverifiable propositions is the height of ignorance.I am not given to talking about religion but I find your post naive (no insult intended). The fact that you do not know me does not mean I do not exit and If you can't prove OJ Simpson murdered his wife, just doesn't make him innocent. My point is these people are talking about their life experiences and you think them ignorant? No, you are the ignorant one for trying to disprove another man's experience or make nonesense of it. You are not them and you don't know what they are talking about. Next time you look at you face in the mirror think about this; Cars, planes, computers and even your BB you so much cherish have their inventors but the complex chemical factory called Man has no maker. He just evolved - did I forget something, Oh from an ape. That the height of Ignorance. |
shymmex: JesusGuy, to follow an ideology simple because the proponent of it looks like you is not only base but shows a myopic and naive view point. Nigerians ought to learn how to respect life irrespective of their religious inclination. Is religion the reason for cult violence in our universities? or senseless intertribal killing (wars)? Is religion also responsible for the murders and killing of political opponents. Take it or leave it, we have no respect for human lives. We will kill at the slightest prompting. |
youngies: The House of Representatives is not yet done with the oil baron, Mr. Femi Otedola, the central figure in the $620,000 alleged bribe which has led to the suspension of Mallam Farouk Lawan as Chairman of the House Committee on Education and the Ad hoc Committee on fuel Subsidy Management. These words sound like my favorite play show on BBC radio - Story, Story, Voices in the market place. Shebi Baba don talk am finish; Den of thieves and robbers. |
All you corpsestabbing desport who can not resist the temptation to feed on a dead man's name. Please remember the calibre of man Ojukwu was; Rose from recruit to Major in ten year, a first class graduate at oxford, at age 10 fought for the right of a black woman at king's college Lagos, at the age of 34, was saddled with the responsibility of declaring the state of Biafra. If your grandfather died in that cause, sorry. But that doesn't diminish the awe of that great man. Please think about your own lives and let the dead rest in peace. |
Hahaha, your nephew reminds me of a colleague at work who cleans the telephone receiver with disinfectant every time before he uses it, also wipes his seat before seating on it and washes his bread/cake at tea time with water before eating. Sorry I have no solution for you but I know he wouldn't kill you. We all aint dead yet at this end. |
NLC/TUC una don try . Uncle Jonathan abeg carry go. Nigeria o ni bage. Anybody whe no wan go work make him stand for road stop me see if machete no go download him head. |
Let me make it categorically clear to you guys. I am for Jonathan and the removal of subsidy. We Nigerians need to learn that we can't eat our cake and have it back. We sell our votes and expect good leadership. We "run deals" and expect no consequences We subvert justice and expect equity We cheat in exams and expect to produce scholar We have long mortgaged or future, and are expecting to lie on beds of roses. Wake up. GEJ has found the courage to say no. No free lunch. No free cake. If he is demanding it from us then we must demand it from our leaders. |
Why is the thread of comments so full of sh_t. Buhari has nothing to offer us as a nation. He is a selfish man who seeks only his own agenda. Watch the run to all elections he has contested. He walks into a party, hijacks it and destroys it with his greed for absolute power. The wants things you don't know about. Lets find fresh minds, fresh ideas and more pragmatic solutions. They promised to make the country ungovernable if they do not get power and are making good their promise, they incited the populace against govt and are getting away with it. Lets wake up. That man was sitting in Nigeria when power was taken from right under his nose. The gang that took power had to wait for his second in command to leave the country before striking. Is he just waking up? This is a case of opportunity once lost being lost forever. |
When we would have finished destroying our nation on the alter of subsidy (pros or cons) I hope we will find another country to live in. I pity those who will die like chickens in the in the course of this instability we are creating with our own hands. Anything way it goes, the fittest will survive. This is what happens to a nation that shuns equity and justice and embraces mediocrity and materialism. As for me, you guys had long sold us to Cameroon without so much as a single protest. |
Why cant you guys go on with your protest and leave the rest of us in Calabar alone. Is the madness you are exhibiting the best solution to this problem? When all these simmers down I wonder who you expect to fix the tarred roads you are burning tyres on. You guys are creating avenues for some guys to make more money in the name of representing your interest. Guys wake up. Shine your eye, look well well. |
whoever is reporting this is simply malicious. There is fuel in Calabar @ the current going cost. Calabar is usually a peaceful city and GEJ or subsidy wont change that. Anybody who feels like having some peace and quiet please come to Calabar. |
whats the price? you can mail me; ebeboh@gmail.com |
