RomanceRe: My Long Distance Relationship Of One Week Just... by overlord77: 11:32am On Nov 26, 2018
SyberKate:
Hi

So I decided to go into a long distance relationship with this guy I have not met yet. We just met online and have exchanged pictures.

So far the relationship is just one week old and I was in a bit of a situation where I needed some money. Nothing much just about 15,000 to solve an issue.

So I asked my BF if he could assist me with the money, only for him to start saying things like the relationship is still young for me to be making demands, that what if he starts demanding for s3xx this early in the relationship.

I said I wish I could have solved my problem myself but I really need all the help I can get. He still insisted that he hasn't even met me physically and I could be trying to swindle him for all he knows.

Then I said if he feels that way then no need to continue with the relationship and it was over, just like that within one week.

So do you think I was being unreasonable to make demands this early in the relationship.
Nothing much just 15k yet you couldn't raise it yourself? Why do some of you have this entitlement attitude? Real ladies solve their problems with or without man.

What if you hadn't known him, how would you have solved that problem? Just imagine he never existed, and get over yourself!

It's highly disgraceful. And yea, he was right. It's too early to start begging for stuffs, to think the relationship is even a week old.

He dodged a missile. It's called the 'Butterfly effect'.
God bless your heart lady

dear overlord77 sir....with much respect....... i've noticed your posts on the chicago POE issue and now birth centres.....

just thought to mention that none of these things are an exact science. NL is all about people's experiences.....even the US visa process appears to be about the VO's experiences and perspective....when we make statements based on the expereince of 90% of the people here...the experience of the majority may differ from yours...you being in the 10%...but it would be wise to heed advise from the majority...unless otherwise directed by own's intuition or divinely.....

a case in point is being called for interview 221g after dropbox application....i'm sure there is a 10% who scaled through drop box after childbirth without being called for interview.....but 90% are asked to appear at Walter Carrington or whatever the abuja equivalent is.....an objective mama will be careless to ignore this.

So...... i make bold to say again....if you don't have liver...mountain faith....and serious confidence....please my sisters don't "near" ORD aka Chicago or birth centre.

and if you can afford it...just go for a more expensive hospital and avoid this recent renewal drama.

PS: just my opinion and perspective o....i may well be wrong......
Well, you might be right but there is a difference between experience and assumptions. What I was trying to say is, when something happens (e.g visa or border entry refusal) most people just assume the reason stuff happened and not the actual. It's these assumptions am trying to kick against ma'am.

Birth center delivery is frowned at by Visa officers. The only condition I would advice the use of a birth center is if you got the visa for that purpose, in other words, you told the visa officer that you plant to use a birth center and they went ahead and still gave you the visa
How do you know this, VO told you or you made an inquiry and it was highlighted?
I have always advocated for what's the true picture of things and not assumptions but if you have proofs of this, do share. We put so much mystery around this whole visa thing.

Well, if I miss the flight I will sleep over in Toronto and continue the next day. grin but it's all good. It's all for the fun.

People don’t realize that US spends more on birth than it gets. I just stumbled on that in the news. That’s how much the government spends on a category of tourism childbirth. The estimate below does not include foreigners on visa. Just Mexicans and others. That’s how much it cost annually to pay for their childbirth by the government.
Bro, FoxNews is conservative propaganda network and only say things favourable to Trump.

Is it a bad to ask a question about the hospitals from the experience of nairalanders. FYI i have a few i have googled and i read the reviews which are not very good....Those with experience can advise. If you don’t have an answer to that then don’t bother answering.
I wonder why a lot of you are being so touchy today. It is not a bad thing to ask a question ma, but it is when you expect pple to do the ground work for you and just provide you answers. The child you are planning to have is yours, why not do the extra by googling.

Wife and I have two kids, two different hospitals in the same state. I took out time to google and contact most via email, while she called them to follow up till we got the one we just used. No need to sound cocky by telling someone to ignore your question, it's a public forum and everyone has the right to post or respond to any post.

However, the project is not half complete, all this rushing to commission is just cos elections are around the corner. I stay in PH and use that airport regularly, trust me, it's not half complete, this is just one wing, hence the repeated photos.

Attention (Especially Listening), Security ,Provision, Love.

These four things you listed are good but trust me,it goes beyond. There are no perfect marriages, everyone just has to make an effort to make it work.

Once you get married, there are somethings you should not say online, even if its just an innocent comment, because it would look like a direct accusation to your husband , lipsrsealed oops !!! or is it ?. Even if it is in that case, its still wrong, communication solves a lot, talk to him, sharing it online won't change anything.

Husbands some of una sef no dey try , once you give a woman the following you should not have problem

Attention (Especially Listening)
Security
Provision
Love

And o, its vice-versa , men deserve these things too
Social media is ruining marriages, some people cant just drop their phones for 2 minutes to have a heart to heart or even a playful conversation with their spouses .

Once communication and attention is lacking, your spouse would find a way to get it from somewhere else.

Be wise

Let me stop talking, check my signature
Are you married sir?

My dear, thank you for this. I think both the neighbour and this OP are silly. Is he a doctor and why is she reporting to him?

If she suspects something, why not have a talk with her daughter and take her to a doctor. I don't get this post at all.

Anyone used Delta airlines? Please what was your experience and how is the POE (Atlanta) . Hubby thinks a direct flight will be better cos of the long hours
Both united and delta takes about 12 hours to the US. For a pregnant lady or anyone else for that matter, I'd suggest the connection option. You get the advantage of at least seeing new faces, touching different airports and taking in fresh air at intervals (lol). Did Lufthansa in august, ABV to FRA to ORD, sweet.

POE in ATL is a breeze, just answer their questions truthfully and you are on your way.

$2k is not beans, I may b wrong, but I was one of the 1st people to use Dr Nicholas in 2015, and I did due diligence to fetch him out, then I had a good service, trust me when people rush a particular Doc. their services may drop sure to over booking.. Which is not a reason for bad service thou..
Dr. Nicholas is a qualified Doc who sees more of Latin Americans and black Americans from the sub urban areas.. We too dey rush him too much, can we please do more research and get new untapped Dr. Alot of us just are doing copy and paste no research..

It's bad and heart breaking to get a crappy service but we Nigerians are to used to doing follow follow.. There are untapped hospitals and Dr., but we r not doing due diligence..

So sorry for the bad service, pls am begging get new leads...
Thank you. I said almost the same thing and someone replied that it's their money and that they would use same Dr and hospital over again, bad service or not.
My second child just came in on friday and we used a diff hospital from the one we used for our first kid, in the same state . All i had to do with DW, was do more searches from Naija months before we travelled. it's all about priorities.

I honestly don't think travelling with one's kid is an issue. I travelled with my toddler(about same age) and my pregnant wife two months ago
and had absolutely no issues going through CBP. The only catch is that the dude would miss school for the duration of their stay. IMO

Hello please am new here and I need an urgent advice
I got my first visa in 2014 and I travelled to visit then went again to give birth note all this journeys has been as a family
I renewed successfully with drop box and after that used twice again the 2 years visa with my family
Now my visa is expiring and I intend doing another drop box but people’s have been scaring me with saying people are having drop box issue renewals
I don’t intend using the visa for anything other than to visit what do you suggest do I do the drop box or just pick interview and declare the birthing even dou I have renewed successfully
There is no need being scared, you qualify for drop box. If they do call you for interview, then so be it. It's that simple.

My sister I agree with you about Dr Xydas. I paid the same amount for hospital and doctor, and I got my money's worth from the hospital. Sadly can't say the same about the doctor. I also had my baby before the doctor on call came, and when I was to be discharged, they just asked me one or two questions and that was it.

I felt like I just threw 2k away. I got better service from my nigerian gynaecologist.
This was bound to happen eventually as it seems everyone is rushing to use same doctor and hospital. I remember I did advise one time that people should research on other hospitals and doctors option.
More persons will still come here to ask for their details cos we are too lazy to sit down and personally search for hospitals. I don't know why we will plan to spend so much and not take out time to actually do our searches. Na wa

Good morning house;
Experienced people and parents, kindly help out.
This is actually a post US childbirth question but please help if you can. A friend's US born baby needs urgent ENT medical attention in the US but his mother has been given February 18 2019 visa interview date in Lagos after dropbox application for visa renewal.

*Just like childbirth services, are there people/bodies who can assist the mother in getting a letter from a US ENT specialist/hospital (Dallas preferably) so that she can be given an earlier emergency appointment date for the visa interview?

*are there other options for fast track apart from getting a letter? pls, do not 'waka pass!' All input gratefully accepted!
Can this urgent ENT medical attention not be handled here that she has to fly thousands of miles abroad for?

Am not aware of any body or paper that can fast track someone's visa interview.

Nawa o, I asked for answers not the 3rd degree. I had previous fertility treatment in the US and many many issues... I'm not traveling just to give birth, I'm traveling because how this delivery is done may affect chances of conceiving in the future. It is actually a medical reason otherwise I would deliver here and health insurance will take care of all bills.
My apologies if you saw my response as a 3rd degree, I don't judge pple, was only speaking my mind based on my understanding of your statement. If you are having a procedure, then your doctor is permitted by profession to refer you for said procedure anywhere in the world.

I read on the US embassy website under documents required for a B2 visa that one should provide a letter from a Nigerian doctor stating the condition and treatment option and that such condition cannot be adequately treated in Nigeria.
That you read it there doesn't mean you must now go and get a letter for something you are not being treated for. There is no need to mislead, just tell them you want to go give birth, which is the truth. Anything else you are trying to get here is purely an attempt to mislead/deceive.

That's my opinion though.
