So you have not given up hope. Well, just try and give up hope because Nigeria is pathetic. The more you support them the more embarrassment they give you. As for the Tunisia, sorry my brother, they know what is at stake. If they can come to Nigeria during their fasting period and get two goals, what makes you think that will stop them from going to the world cup. I see Tunisia going not Nigeria. It's bitter to say it but that is just the truth. Face it bro.

Any team that is wishing to get Nigeria in round 16 might regret it. At this stage, anything can happen. Forget about group face now, it is down and over with.

@sunnela
that's the same way we'll go to the world cup, kenya will draw tunisia, we'll beat mozambique and we'll be topping the group on goal diff to surrender no more

My broda, many people will be happy if what you describe above take stand. Onething you do not understand is fifa rules. Let say what you describe above take stand, Nigeria will still not qualify for world cup because When we went to Tunisia, we fail to score but only for Tunisia to score two goals in our backyard. Maybe you should go back to history of 2006 world cup qualifier. Despite goals different with Angola, Nigeria fail go to the world cup even though both teams had 21 point. Angola able to urge out Nigeria for the ticket because Nigeria fail to score in Angola but Angola able to score when they played in Kano, Nigeria. I have this help. Take a look at 2006 world and Africa cup qualifier. Nigeria score more but it did not make different. I hope it helps you understand if not I hope one of the Nairaland friends will elaborate it more clearly for you. The under 20 world cup to go to the round 16 is totally different than the world cup.

  Group D  P W D L F A P
x-Angola 10 6 3 1 12 6 21
y-Nigeria 10 6 3 1 21 7 21
y-Zimbabwe 10 4 3 3 13 14 15
Gabon 10 2 4 4 11 13 10
Algeria 10 1 5 4 8 15 8

Gbawe, neither england nor uzberkistan can beat the other with a 7-0 goal margin. With cameroon and usa below nigeria and england and uzberkistan likely to be below nigeria too. That means no matter the outcome of group e & f, they can only produce 2 of the 4 3rd placed teams and with italy that will leave nigeria as the 4th 3rd placed teams.

Thank u my broda. If he reads other people post, he will understand. I have only calculate it before. Since both Cameroon and USA lost means that Nigeria is authomatically in because it is impossible for both Eng and Uzb to over come each other. Group E and F have nothing to do with Nigeria anymore.

england vs uzberkistan game will decide our fate tonite, let us pray!!!

Just be joyful like the rest of us. This two teams will not give each a chance for one to over come the other to score 7 goals. This is do or die afair for both. I can only say draw or one zero in favor of England.

As it is now FE has qualified but that depends on neither england nor uzberkistan producing a 7-0 goal margin. They will now play the winner bw ghana & uruguay or ghana if the game ends in a draw tonight. The match will be played on tuesday.

Both Ghana and Uruguay will want to win this games so they can be fair with a laser team that sneak into the round 16 like Nigeria.

Siasia's true strength is about to be tested in the second round. I just want to assure my fellow Nigerians that although this team appears weak on its face, especially judging them solely by the results of the 1st round, I must assuredly say that they are not that bad of a team--the team created many scoring chances, and the players are extremely fit.  Also, since a lot of the players are also from the local league, they lack experience at this level, which probably made the strikers nervous in front of goal. As again since this is soccer, anything can happen in the second round.

You're right. Lets just hope the strikers live up to spectation. That is the only thing everyone are worry about.
Sports / Re: Nigeria Vs Tahiti (5-0) Thursday 1 October 2009 by OvieE: 7:53pm On Oct 02, 2009
I believe Nigeria will do well in the second round. The time of hoping is over. Either you win and stay or lose and go home; that is the only thing that is left but I choose win and stay on in Jesus's name  (Amen).
Sports / Re: Nigeria Vs Tahiti (5-0) Thursday 1 October 2009 by OvieE: 7:47pm On Oct 02, 2009
But the most important thing that we need to agree on is that we need to stop depending on other to help through to any games. This has been happening since 2002 Korea and Japan world cup when Nigeria nearly missed out.

JosBoy4Lif:

Wow i didn't know such losers could qualify to the next round. You beat up on helpless Tahiti and you can qualify?

It's something. But let see how they will be fair with the next round. Nigeria seems to play better with good teams. Tahitians lack skills that will always confuse a better teams. Nigeria need to work on their strikers. that is the major issue with the team as of now.

saworoide:

With Korea beating USA 3-0 and Germany beating Cameroon 3-0. We are almost qualified except either Uzbekistan or England wins by a 7-goal margin, a remote possibility. Siasia will need to start preparing his tattered team to face Germany, Ghana or Uruguay. These teams have all shown flashes of brilliance and preparedness. But Siasia has walked similar path before in 2005, only that his boys in this competition are anything but world beaters.

As I calculated it before, it is impossible for them. Nigeria is in for sure.

Guys please help me. How are we through? Can't the results from remaining groups affect us?

As it stands right now, the results others remaining cannot affect Nigeria that only if you can calculate it.

Uzbekistan 2 0 0 2 1 5 0
England 2 0 0 2 0 5 0

You can rule this two out. It will be hard for them to score any many goals and have +2 to compete with Nigeria. As for group E and F, regardless what happy it will not affect Nigeria. Nigeria welcome to round 16.

It's like Nigeria will authomatically qualify if things stand the way it is now. That also pave way to another team to make it to round 16 ahead of USA and Cameroon depend on gaols differences.
Sports / Re: Nigeria Vs Tahiti (5-0) Thursday 1 October 2009 by OvieE: 11:24pm On Oct 01, 2009
Nigeria no longer a country that supply his own things, they are now depending. I used to think that soccer is the only thing our nation will able to supply for its people easily but now depending on other nations to help us qualify. We depend on foods, import oil, money from IMF, and other things from other nations but now soccer joined the leagues of things we depend on other nations to help us with. This is how under 17 will also depend on other teams to help them go the next round. Nigeria now really become a nation of depending and begging other nations to help us. What a shame and pity. I pray that every country that need a draw and go should do it please. Let god send Nigeria home from their mestry. 49 years old my foot. At 49, Nigeria cannot pronounce or spell its name. While other nations are walking, Nigeria is still learning how to sit. I really feel for this useless country I came from. I really suffer to call myself a Nigerian.

Poster, you need a soul check. A nation were you do not know were you are heading is mad. Any leader who open is coward mouth to say anything about Independence day must be cannibal. Look at China who is just ten years ahead on Nigeria in achieving Independence, were is china today. Give Nigeria ten years if Nigerians can live in a high standard that Chinese are living today and give Nigeria ten years if they can host the Olympic games. Common under 17 world cup, some countries wanted to withdraw. NIGERIA ONLY GAIN MORE FOOLS DAY BY DAY.

Sammaking, It is a pity people like you do not want to face reality, continue to pray and profesy positivity without doing nothing and Nigeria will forever be useless. It is better to pray for lucifer to repent than to pray for Nigerian
(sorry looters) to change.
This are people who never believe in One Nigeria, they only believe in one belle looting. For your information they do not need your prayers, cos they have more than enough hungry pastors, Imams and babalawos at their beck and call.
I advise people like you to forget about anything good from Naija for now. The Solution, wait till 2011 and reorganise yourself and as many people as possible. Then go out and vote, pray to God to protect you against vote robbers and thugs and vote out this idiots. Join Nigeria Liberty forum and Nigeria Rally and fight for your birthright.
Because If they still rig the next election Nigeria will continue to be doomed and No Prayers, No Revival, No Crusade, No Fasting, No Total Experience can revive Nigeria. Our rulers know absolutely what they are doing and if you allow them to rig the next election and stay in your house praying and fasting instead of casting your vote and motivating others to cast their votes for the right people, things will get so bad that you will run away from Nigeria and do a thanksgiving in church for granting you visa.
No insults meant though.
