myike2: This story is not true. Just a jack-ass trying to make front page who succeeded. I said so for the following reasons:

1. "On August 1, 2012, Agbo began her NYSC primary duty with the Garki Gazette, an Abuja-based weekly lifestyle and events publication"

Starting from Batch A 2012 NYSC members, no corp member will be posted to any company or private sector. Posting of corp members shall be limited to four sectors: Agriculture, Education (teaching), Infrastructure, and *i'v 4gottn the last one*. And as we all know, 70% are sent to govt schls to teach, startin from batch A. So, who posted this so-called corper to a 'lifestyle and event' company?

2. "In the morning (of November 1) while attending her Community Development group meeting, she was advised to submit her PC thesame day as NYSC officials would be busy with the new batch of corp members resuming the following week"

Batch C corp members left camp on November 27th, and resumed on December 3rd. Meanwhile, the story says that NYSC officials would be busy with corp members resuming the following week (beginning on the 5th on November). I didn't have the time to go through the whole story, I would have brought out more points to show that this 1di0t just wants to make front page. Un4tunately, he/she succeeded!

1. You don't know anything about nysc. If you are posted somewhere and is rejected, you'll hav to find another place 2 serve and by then, most govt orgs are already full so you'll hav 2 look 4 a private employer to take u up.
2. I wonder if u've ever served before. After being accepted or rejected by PPA, u have to report back to the zonal or local govt office. Those rejected will hav to be reposted and will come back again 2 submit acceptance slip. newly posted corpers don't report to ppa until the next day 28th. Now add those relocating from other states to d bundle. Every corper simply cannot be finished wit acceptance btw Nov 27th - to d time of Agbo's clearance. Nysc offices are very busy place 2 be in 1st 3 wks after camp. I'm a serving B corper. Was rejected. It took nysc 2 weeks after camp to repost me.

All clearance hav 2 be submitted on d day indicated. Failure to do so will mean no allowee 4 dat month. Its not something dat can be postponed

you trekked from d main road to the camp? That's madness. I can imagine u went downhill . . Thru a valley and then uphill again thru those bushes at NIGHT. . Its like walking thru d shadow of death.

I guess ur camp time was in d dry season. In the rainy season . . Batch B, the road and expressway is a complete mess. I wonder why d federal govt don't want to fix dat expressway. Come see cars swimming in mud water.

The only thing i really enjoyed was d camp carnival night. The parades were funny at first. For d first week, everything was so disorganized. The soldiers started evicting those they thought were not fit. 2nd wk, we still couldn't take 5 synchronized steps. The soldiers were begging us to behave na. . . . . When we couldn't get it right by d third week, they became annoyed and started their gra gra. We now begged them to parade for us . . to set example.. Na so dem soldiers form line and begin march o. It was flawless. . . From then on, we got it right.

The toilets. . arrant nonsense. . And imagine some corrupt officials come dey extort N200 say dem wan use d money wash d toilets o:< . No bathroom o. Na open bathing galore. As for mammy market, i didn't frequent there often since d woman serving my platoon used to give me double ration so food was not my problem there

The secretriat? That place is a disgrace. Reminds me of old secondary school building partitioned into officer with wood.
Read it in Aman Kopa, a anambra nysc publication that Amawbia community has donated land for them to build another secretriat. Also that they've acquired land for another orientation camp coz there's a tussle between d anglican church and d state govt over d ownership of d present camp. So umunya camp may no longer be used in d nearest future
They also want to build a corpers transit lodge near the state govt assembly area.

I arrived camp on d second day so was thrown into DINNING HALL. I'll post d pìx of d empty hall. It was like a refugee camp. The only advantage of that place is that you get served earlier than those from other hostels.
If u don't want to be hungry all times, better build relations with those women who serve d food. That's wat i did and used to get double food or better serve in d kitchen. . You'll never regret it
